I was going to do a “double take” on a subject and a different perspective. But in the recent events of the liberal news gone wrong, (thought I would never say that) this was a bomb shell that many of us had never saw coming. September 10th was the end of The Forum here in Milwaukee. And who’s the blame on this? Let’s read on.

If many listened to the radio station 1510am Tuesday morning on September 10th, you may have heard the very last of The Forum with Sherwin Hughes. For many of us in the Greater Milwaukee Area that know, listening to him was a different perspective on politics and the current events. Many of us listened to Sherwin before in the days of the Basement Crew on 98.3 and of course, WNOV. Last year as we know, Sherwin’s abrupt end on WNOV was in a Facebook post due to “irreconcilable differences” with him and the Management. That was last July, however between last August until now his show was resurrected with Resistance Radio. Again if many have not listened to Resistance Radio its like progressive radio in which it is. There are many Conservative Radio stations around the state of Wisconsin that cater to many white conservative folks that want it keep it on the right and red. But not many liberal and progressive radio news. This is part of the reason why Real Resistance Radio is now on the air.

So who is next to listen to? Who is next to help bring the real pain of progressive radio of Democratic styles in all to the airwaves ESPECIALLY IN THE BLACK MILWAUKEE COMMUNITY! We know Earl Ingram can. He’s been in the game of fight for the truth for DECADES! But he’s doing on the Baby Boomer side of things. Not a concern. But for Sherwin, it was from in my view point, a Generation X Viewpoint. I said it. I’m Gen X also. Not a Millennial or Gen Z. And the thing is during this past year, he picked up where he left off since leaving WNOV last year. And yet when I listened to his final broadcast behind the mic, he kept referring “the writing on the wall” in terms when would be the time to move forward. Of course when a player tells the press or media that it’s time to retire or quit, of course many of us will feel that impact. Maybe because it’s due to family, health concerns, other assignments or many other factors. It’s kind of interesting also that this announcement came on the week of the anniversary of two things: 9/11 and the passing of Eric Von. I think in Sherwin’s case, it’s about moving to a more free and appreciative angle that he can handle. And also the concerns of the station of Real Resistance Radio was highly examined. And he was very vocal about his stance about the work done. Is Real Resistance Radio the blame here? What about the Democratic Party is facing a mess? Internally? And again, which side is truly A BLAME in this matter? The Right Wing or in this case, The Left Wing Progressives that is now starting to mess up? Think about it! Sherwin briefly described it. Even concerning about the DNC Connectional things that are coming to Milwaukee. He’s been on the WRRD thing for 6 months to one year and was just forgotten he was still there. I know I’m spoiling the sentences that he said in his last Forum Radio Show, but the thing is this: It was noting that it was time to tell the butt naked truth. Now, nothing against Real Resistance Radio, or WNOV or 98.3 or any of the bosses or managers that he worked under. Or even the guests he had. At the end of the day, when it’s all set and done, from an individual stance, we must do what is best for us. We know that in the game of working for the man/woman is not going to be forever. We know this. But I see Sherwin in his next level doing things bigger than the talk radio business. There is always that next level thing we have to understand to walk away. We all will have to take this difficult walk. It’s going to be hard and of course what lies ahead is another question in thought. Homer Blow asks the question all the time: “What’s Next?” We don’t know what’s next yet. No one knows that day or hour. But whatever comes next will come into the light.

This is why I blog the way I do. I pick up on his shows to give my viewpoints here of what’s going on. And to summarize it in a way here that many of you outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Midwest and yet the United States don’t know. We “average bloggers” write what is around us. No matter if it’s health, jobs, a unexpected death, politics, fun stuff, whatever. Even if it’s something we regret in our past that should be a life lessons for those reading in the future. Even church. Somebody say AMEN!

So with Sherwin now out of the radio picture unceremoniously, who’s left to listen to in a black perspective? Again, for 1510am we got Earl Ingram, out in Madison there is a black woman by the name of Brandi Grayson who appears on Talk 92.7 in the state’s capitol. Which is part of the Real Resistance Radio Network. Here in Milwaukee: already Homer Blow via Blowradio.com, Michelle Bryant, Keith Parris, Faith Colas, Keyon Jackson-Malone, and Darryll Fortune on WNOV. There’s not too many of us in black talk radio in Milwaukee or in the State.Who is next to join the pack that many ask? Only time will tell. I say for those of us who want to be engaged in black talk radio in the city, I would probably say give these individuals a shot. They may not be the kind you want in talk radio, this is all we have for now.

So like the last time: what were my top 10 Forum moments that I know from memory? Let’s count the ways:

10) The UWM Controversial Poster. This was mostly disturbing.

9) A posting The Forum did on Facebook regarding those who left Milwaukee and thinking what is best for the city. Especially for those who USED TO vote, work, volunteer and play in the city.

8) WRRD 1510 Received an Award from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. The station came in third place and it was because of The Forum.

7) Several interviews with Milwaukee/Wisconsin Congressmen, Alder-persons, Senators. All Milwaukee related. And even replaying a footage that Sen. Lena Taylor made an announcement in running for Mayor for 2020.

6) Last year when The Forum was on the scene when former president Barack Obama was in town for campaign of the 2018 election of the state. The same one later on that Tony Evers won.

5) Last year in November, when the acknowledgement of International Men’s Day was mentioned and yes there was a reason why Men should have their day and time to shine. Even though it was short, but it was a mini statement. International Men’s Day in which many forget: it’s November 19th.

4) Sherwin had this guest on The Forum before, but Shannon Lewendowski a FORMER police officer of the Milwaukee PD and like before, she knew the weaknesses of Milwaukee that every-time she talks about it, the guest usually gets warned about it. But the fact of the matter is, most of what she said was the butt naked truth!

3) See Number 4.

2) The Final Broadcast of the Forum we did not see coming on September 10th. And yet, Sherwin was very expressive in the year overall since the left leaning progressive station was not that VERY keen on Sherwin’s intellect and viewpoints. Especially after realization that sometimes DEMOCRATS can be a mistake in starting up stuff they really can’t hardly finish. And yet, it’s a mess not cleaning up. Many didn’t like it, but it was partially the truth.

And the Number one thing that I’ll remember from The Forum in a resistance side: His comeback show from August of last year of 2018. It was his first since leaving WNOV in July of the same year.

To listen to the last talk show of The Forum on this date of September 10th, 2019, click here and press play. The Forum does have it’s own web page, that you can listen to the last broadcast and also the previous broadcasts of the days from WRRD and WNOV at the same time. It’s all on there. So if any one is looking for them to see if it’s still usable to listen to, it’s on there. All of the 1,000 plus episodes of the broadcasts via Soundcloud.

As far as the now former host is concerned, there is an organization in the city he founded a while back and it’s in a supporting role in regarding the future elections of Milwaukee candidates. Look for “Leaders for a Better Community” and find ways to support and get involved! Oh, and one more thing, if many want to keep up with fans of The Forum, follow along for a member group request on Facebook.

Apparently this is not the way to drop another stunner on Milwaukee Black Talk Radio, but knowing that there will be another one that will renew a idea to let us (and I mean US) have our say!

Its been a while for a Three Way Dance! And it’s a must NEEDED Dance. With all what is going on with many factors of concern it’s clearly that many folks in conscious are just being grabbed left and right. Oh did I mention that we’ve been here before. Of course! However if many are just late to the dance, or just in general don’t know or just didn’t know until the day actually comes. And they complain about not knowing or whatever. But for this though, I got dance cards on deck.

First Dance: The Leaky Tapes from the White House. Oh we all just woke up to this. Press play:

The Leaky Tape: Nixon and Reagan in 1971.

Show of hands right now: who didn’t know that this was a racial charged remark? And getting to the truth about Reagan and Nixon? Oh, that’s right many of us weren’t born in 1971 and didn’t know this. But there is one thing we all knew: They had racial angles! Nixon probably did but Reagan?! Really? The same “America is a Shiny Beacon on the hill” Ronald Reagan? The same Ronald Reagan that everyone probably voted up in the 1980’s with the same moniker of “Let’s Make America Great Again?” Guess who sampled that material? This Ronald Reagan that many watched to approve the MLK Holiday, gave Michael Jackson an commemorative award in the 1980’s at the height of Thriller, and he along with his wife Nancy had the Just Say No slogan on lock when Generation X were just kids? YEAH HIM! If many of you are Ronald Reagan Fans still backing the words of him during in his 8 years in office and you’re just now looking at this footage from 1971 there is one question to be asked? Are you shocked by this? And if you’re black, your perception has not changed about this man even after he left office. Want more proof? Let Roland Martin Unfiltered enlighten you:

Now many probably will be asking is how will Reagan’s family react to this? Their children, and grandchildren and many other in the Reagan Family Tree will react to this remark from 1971? Oh you know they will, but yet that was their father. Let them address that. But yeah MANY OF US knew this all this time. We’ve been knew it. But it’s others just chiming in on this youtube channels to not vote for Reagan in 2020.

CALLOUT- FYI: Reagan died in 2005, and Nixon passed away in 1994.

Even though that they had those angles, there are those today that would NOT forgive the actions that the Reagan and Nixon Administrations had done in their 4 to 8 years in office. Many will never forgive Reagan with the 80’s drug era that effected the country, including the areas of the POOR! Again, we known this angle for LONG TIME! If those whom are relatively new to the news, they are just learning. But for those of us relearning the story, we know it very well. It has not changed!

Second Dance: The #DemDebates Overall.

We’ve seen the Democratic Debates in the previous weeks and I must say that it’s all about bragging rights. It’s about the bragging rights that only ONE might emerge the candidate to take on 45 or the “Bad Trumpy Boy” in the 2020 Election. And yes we know who ever wins the prize will become president. We know this. But the debates as we know is like a firing squad. Or in this case there all on the same team, but WHO REALLY WANTS it more in order to make the case please-able to the voters? And yet many are looking at Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Tulsi Gabbard, Cory Booker, Bernie Sanders (whom is Independent) and many others who feel that they can carry the party. Right now to me, it’s between Biden and I think Harris. I’m calling it right now because that I know it’s what the media is talking about. But however, when it comes to be the front runner, it’s probably Joe Biden. Of course I’m saying him. Nevermind the so-called gaffs about his opinions and viewpoints in regards the Crime Bill or any other that fact of the matter that harbors. So far it’s like a preliminary tryout for the football team. You have your veteran players, your mid-carders and those who have walked on the field to see what they can do. Don’t believe me? Ask the Wisconsin Badgers Football Team. They know walkons. And like the pros, they will be evaluated and see who makes the cut to the main roster. But in this instance, it’ll be narrowed down to that one candidate and that strong running mate. Nah, this is like the WWE Royal Rumble in which it’s every man and every woman for him or herself. That’s all it is. The winner left standing will be that one contender left to fight the champion. Which is of course is Trump. Ooops, I mean 45. We all seen the aftermath of the Democratic Debates and yet it’s not pretty. It hasn’t been. But the fact of that matter is someone is going to go big and might be a surprise pick to get on the ballot and to have a strong connection with the voters. Even to the Black Voters that are woke and conscious! BUT ALAS! Who ever that is, must be strong in all AVENUES! Not the usual groups that is always catered!

And last but not least: For all the Schools that claim that the Alumni needs to be at all the functions, you need to know something.

For quite sometime on WordPress, I have highlighted several times about the need for Alumni to join their Alumni Associations. No matter if it’s High School or College. We all know that many of us give back to our schools that our kids go to currently, but what about the schools we went to? And what about the Schools that are still out there that need the Alumni to stay informed? See this is what I’m talking about. I get information from my old high school, tech college and university mainly because I would like to know what’s going on since I graduated. And yet of course we get those donations in the mail to help contribute to the cause. Some or many of us do this, and yet many of us don’t. Say amen! And also many of us probably hear about a recent fight at our old high school and come up in arms in argument about the bad stuff on social media, and not offering a solution to get the problems solved. But that is another story. What ties in all of this is a recent problem: my high school alma mater recently advertised a flapjack fundraiser in regarding the school’s football team. Many of us in the Alumni had seen the advertisement a couple of day BEFORE the start of the fundraiser. The advertisement was labeled for July 27th, many of us got it on the 23rd. Which was WAAAAAY LATE! Later on in the day, we received a notification indicating that “the breakfast was a success, but no support from the Alumni Association.” Now personally that felt like an attack on the organization. But here’s the thing, I responded like this on the Milwaukee Marshall Alumni FB Page:

“Glad this was a great success. I really wanted to come, but I had to attend a meeting in Germantown with my church. Now I can’t speak for every Alum but I can say that only a few knew about this in the past week. I’m suggesting as a idea (I hope I don’t get in trouble here) make sure that this is advertised ahead of time. Like in a week/month advance. Many of us have different schedules with jobs and families and also many of us are not in the state. But I really wanted to attend. Plus you mentioned about submitting a donation. Even though this has passed, can we still donate? If possible reference the name of the individual that we can submit the donations to. Even though many of us knew about this and missed it, but still would like to contribute.”

See this is how I responded in a calm manner. I didn’t get pissed. Look what I just wrote. Yes, I’m glad the Milwaukee Marshall Football Fundraiser was good, and it was a successful event. But yet in their estimation the Alumni should have been there to come out. HOWEVER, I need the schools to understand something. We in the Alumni are not just former students. We are parents, grandparents, taking care of our kids, caregivers, travel, going to work, commute in and out of state, and many other schedule concerns and duties we endure EVERYDAY! We are human. We’re not Superman or Wonder Woman. We have schedules like you do in order to stay on task! Why am I saying this? I’m commenting this to be truthful. We all have a schedule. Heck, I told my church this. My father once said when I was in college, that “nobody knows your schedule but you”. He was right. And I’m here to tell those whom have been offended by these “you should have been there”speeches that many of you know your schedule. I don’t know the schedule of many but know of some. I know my own schedule based on what I do everyday. And I tell them. Many of us also that we have to know that we are not always going to show up to everything all the time. Now to the schools: LISTEN UP! You need to understand this. Don’t get angry or pissed that the Alumni doesn’t show up and get a revenge edge on us. That’ll look bad on the organization and also that will reflect on you. Trust me, you don’t want to go there. If you want to really get the Alumni involved, you need to come to our meetings, have the discussions to reach out on OUR Social Media platforms, etc. How many of you teachers, administrators, coaches, or many others have ever been invited to an Alumni Association Meeting within the past year? Or the past two years? Or have talked to an alum at a recent event for them to come back and visit? Don’t speak all at once! If you haven’t done any of this, then that’s on YOU! Don’t blame the Alumni Presidents, Treasurers, Secretaries, Acting Board members, or anyone that donated, contributed, supported or even identifies very well about being an alum of giving back. Don’t go there! Do you understand what I’m saying here? I want all schools to hear this, especially my own. Yes, all the schools should connect with the Alumni and vice-versa. Not too many are doing this. But to call them out like this in a dumb manner is just that: DUMB! If you have information that the Alumni can be notified of in various formats, let us know AHEAD OF TIME! And if we can’t make it to a fundraiser or an open house that features money, let us donate. Can that be done?

Its been a long minute since that I written a double take on anything. But in the recent events of a triple homicide and also just today, 45 is up to some go back where you came from  remarks to OUR 4 US Congresswomen that are all minorities, was one of the disgusting and vile commentary out this man’s mouth! So yes, we are mad as hell! And as I speak on this date being hot, guess what? The heat is on.

First take: An innocent mother loses her life. Many of us in the community  had heard of the triple homicide that occurred in the city of Milwaukee in late June. The area was near 85th and Grantosa which is not far from my sister’s residence that this senseless murder happened. When word got out that the victims were dead by one shooters, one of the victims was a daughter of my Lay Minister from his first marriage. The victim was named Sonya Collins. And according to the reports, she was killed due to the fact that she was trying to protect her children. And the attacker, Oshonti Cannady at age 21 did the job not only on Sonya, but also on two other women at the scene. After that part of the week was dismal, many of us my church was just talking about the incident that was still fresh in our minds. But I kept thinking about the family and MANILY the father of the daughter that I know that had to be extremely hurt over the senseless loss of her daughter. Here’s the thing, Sonya was just 41 years old. She was a mother that once again was trying to protect her children. Her babies! As any mother (excuse me, REAL MOTHER) would do in any situation by standing and protecting her kids! And all that ended in a senseless manner. Oh yes, duirng the week at Church, yes we were talking about it. And yet many of us recalled how many on the congregation lost their loved ones in a senseless manner in the past. Me, I lost 2 cousins in 2002 and 2010. Both in the Summertime. In the months of July and August. We were rocked with grief and anguish. One of my cousins was just 21 years old that started his own business of a Ice Cream Parlor in the inner city of Milwaukee. And going to school to UW – Milwaukee. What lead to the killing at the time was his car. My cousin was driving a 1996 Chevy Lumina that he bought with his own money. And with that, a set of rims that was purchased. These were the rims that many were being targeted for killings and crimes. Unfortunately for my cousin, he was being chased at least 3 times for his car. In the early morning of late July in that year. Here it was a young black male, from a good family, educated, had a job of his own, and yes we do talk about the endangered species when it comes to our African-American Males! Weeks later in my church then, the attacker of my cousin was caught and was sentenced to more that 10 years in prison. And all of this was because of some car rims that many wanted in a criminal manner. In all GETTING CAR RIMS!

My other cousin was a mother, whom was stabbed to death by her alleged boyfriend in August of 2010. And was so shocking for my youngest cousin, she saw the stabbing in a closet with grief and shock. This is one of my father’s nieces. And usually when we get together for family outings or meetings, it usually involves a Funeral. Am I alone that goes through this? When family members most gather for funerals to say goodbye to a member that was known or not known well? But many of us in the family are trying to change the concept in which gathering at funerals are not the always norm everytime. But getting to my cousin that was stabbed in 2010, we also felt the concern that her children will have to live with their Aunt and Uncle without their mother being around everyday. Weeks later, my cousin’s attacker was found and caught in the state of Illinois and was sentenced for the murder. All of this was 9 years ago in the hot summer of Milwaukee.

Getting back of course: When I explained all this in church in early July, I told my Lay Member and as well as my UMM Men’s Church member (who also lost his nephew in the same day as Sonya Collins)  that the attackers are just “running and hiding.” But eventually will get caught. I made a prediction that they will get caught and will not get far. I made a prediction about this and held nothing back based on I know. Well guess what ladies and gentlemen, on July 13th, 2019 in the same day that Sonya Collins was laid to rest, her attacker was caught and captured. Sonya was murdered in late June. I said either a couple of weeks or a month that the capture would happen. I asked the family and the church this question: “What did I tell you?” I told them this would happen. Now since the capture that has happened let the true justice, and I mean “TRUE JUSTICE”  must commence and come into play. I got another say on this: I thinking that the sentencing part of this, Oshonti will probably get at 10 years to life in prison. Why I am saying all this on this blog full of nice things? Guess what, I’ve mentioned this before and yes this all comes to those like, we need to take back our neighborhoods, our cities, or Black Lives Matter. Oh of course that many will scream out the question of “What about black on black crime?” This example was and is still in the crawl of most white folks asking when a black male/female gets killed by white folks with badges and guns or by senseless attackers. And of course in our black community we always say that we need to do better for our people in all, but some of us get reality checked ourselves that incidents like this complex every single time. Sometimes we ask about “why blacks don’t celebrate the 4th of July” when we see or read about bodies in the street? And usually that about police brutality. But when one of our own do this, we kind of run and hide from the question. I’m speaking the truth to power. When this happens in all we need to hold ourselves very accountable in terms of US being killed by others. As for these murders, we can go to the government and continue to regulate and try to regulate NEW Laws, but many we need to do it ourselves! It starts with US!

Second Take: take a look of this mess from today. We’ve all seen it while working on the job.

Oh, and see this also:

Did anyone believe the B.S. and I mean the B.S. coming out of this so-called President’s mouth? This is supposed to be the leader of the free world that supposed to set an example of positive. But many should not be surprised that this fool of the leader had to call out 4 of our US Congresswomen of Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlab, Ayanna Pressley, and yes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. All 4 of them had the message to “go back to where they came from”. And also this is sending shock-waves not just in the United States, but also the world. 3 of 4 Congresswomen are U.S. Citizens but Omar is an immigrant that became a citizen 19 years ago. So yes, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is a U.S. Citizen!

“The newly assembled Squad” had a response in regarding 45 dumbfound remarks:

I need to ask, this why do we say to folks, “go back where you came from?” And second, why are we saying this in 2019?! This is all about the one thing that many are beginning to understand that #whitefear is in the minds of those who want to keep the United States of America all under the white rule. Under the White Supremacy that many of us non-whites are sick and tired of. What they are really saying that we should be running this country, not many of the minorities.

Let me be clear to the idiotic bigots that want this to happen. You are indeed playing yourselves!

Even the so-called president whom made the statement is playing himself with these remarks. And yet, you got many folks like him are nodding in agreement. “Go back where you came from” is nothing more than a racist code word by stating that “we don’t want you”. Or “You can’t be us because you aren’t one of us.” or “You’re not our type.” Or many other warning signs of fear that many of the 45 Supporters don’t even want to condemn the so-called president of the remarks he’s stated! Let’s be real: 45 or Trump doesn’t give a rat’s carcass about no minorities in the majority that doesn’t agree with him.

LOOK HERE! THESE ARE #FACTS! And many of us whom are born here in the United States aren’t going back to bow down to the conformity of others that doesn’t make sense! It didn’t make sense back then, or when it started and it sure is hell doesn’t make sense NOW! All this “Go back to where you came from” is dumb!

And oh, here is a flashback: Remember when Obama was in office? Remember when the right wing fans about telling him or commenting about him going back to Kenya? His father was Kenyan Born. Oh yes conservatives and Tea Party Baggers you should remember! And that includes this birther crap (take our country back) that wanted to see if he’s a Citizen, or a Christian (even though he went to Rev. Jerimiah Wright’s Church in Chicago) , or even all of this stuff that didn’t make sense that Obama should do during his 8 years in the chair. This “all going back” crap has been heard so many times from Black folks, Latino Folks, and many others that the so-called 45 President labeled the countries “Sh*tHole Countries”. Some of those so-called “Sh*thole Countries” are laughing the crap out of us. They are. And in fact, I don’t blame them! And when 2020 gets here and if this So-Called President gets reelected, you know that the joke will be on us United States Citizens. Matter of fact, the joke was on us since November of 2016 that many voted him over Hilary, who had EXPERIENCE! But no, the so-called “silent majority” in this country is dumb. The same silent majority that voted up for 45 and those whom are actively wearing those #MAGA hats has racial ties, believe it or not. THINK ABOUT IT!

I’ll bet many years ago used it as a weapon to make the minorities inferior because they didn’t fit the system. Oh really? There have been many times the American Flag was used as a weapon against those whom have been label inferior in this country as a symbol of oppression. That is true. Even though it looks good “on display” as I said in the past. But of course that the flag had oppression viewpoints on how it was presented to scare or to make those less than worthless. Yes I’m talking about black folks that were fighting to get a seat at the table. And were still fighting TODAY to get that chance.

CALLOUT! For all the folks whom assumed that black folks ran their course: NEWSFLASH! the folks have NOT ran their course. We’ve only just begun again.

This is why every 4th of July and every Juneteenth Day, as much as everyday I say these words: “THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES”. And this example is one of them!

It’s time for a Three Way Dance. Finally I’ll get to talk about that black dude that showed up at 45’s rally in Arizona. Remember that recall in Milwaukee against Tom Barrett? And for my non-churched folks who think churches aren’t doing jack for the hurricane victims, think again.

First Dance: Ok, who is this Michael The Blackman?

I’ll bet many of us were asking that recently. If many were brave enough to catch a clip about this dude showing up at a 45land Rally in Arizona holding a sign says “Blacks for Trump” I’m asking who let this dude in the building? Did ol Donnie paid him to show up? I’m looking at this footage with the surrounding of all those white folks mostly and the thing is why is that black dude in the crowd?!

Speaking of that, I peeped this dude’s website recently. He’s got a website that is so controversial like it’s crazy. Anyone seen this? It’s called Gods2.com. On his site, he’s got all of this “self-proclaimed” bible theories about religion and other mess that it’s flat out ridiculous. He believes (according to his website) that the Cherokee Indians were like the KKK and tie them with the Democrats. Another in the head line that he believes that Martin Luther King Jr was a Republican which he was NOT! He also believes that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama had some controversial angles, and many other pro Republican type scenarios for support. Even posing with the likes of Sean Hannity and the Tea Party. Many others were just flat out ridiculous! Oh he’s been backing the Red Party since 1994. He’s got other names like Maurice Symonette and had been in a cult previously. Let me save my vision here. This guy is nuts. I’m sorry. After looking at his “website” for who he is I’ll bet the words “messed up in the head” comes to mind. And it does! And you wonder why that is. And I hate to say that his Bible Game is totally messed up!

Second Dance: Milwaukee, I told you so!

That so-called recall against Mayor Tom Barrett by the “Save Our City Milwaukee Can’t Wait” group. The same group that had the Allen Jansen dude that lead the campaign and had also Darryl Farmer (aka King Rick) from the Black Panthers to be a Treasurer in all. Yeah that group. They according to this blog update had about 10,000 signatures to capture to get the recall, but however according the rules of the Election Commission, they were supposed to get at least 50,000 signatures within the 60 day deadline. Well guess what: THEY FAILED!!!!!

There was no substance in this recall. NONE. I didn’t see them around the city when the festivals were happening. I didn’t see them at the parks, the neighborhood block parties, churches, Summerfest. NONE AT ALL. Where were they? Now rumors has it that they were based in the Bay View Area. But if that’s the case, that was a mistake. If they were just based from that or their intent to get it out in all, they fumbled the ball. I mean seriously, where were the base? And that’s why local recalls just flop. If they were mad serious, that recall thing were to be out in full force, but NOPE! Not a chance. One of the major keys of this so-called recall was the Milwaukee Streetcar. By the way, the streetcar idea is still rolling. And recently, our “GOP Friends” in Madison had kind of goofed up with the Transporation Infanstrcutre Financial Area. One of our freeways near the Northside of Milwaukee is still under constrction and is behind! NOT COOL, Wisconsin GOP! And also they wouldn’t offer any pull per se with the Milwaukee Streetcar with additional funds. So why the hate about the Milwaukee Streetcar you ask? POLITICS. You know what, google the Kenosha Streetcar. Really do that. And the thing is there is no hate about the Kenosha Streetcar, but hate on the Milwaukee Streetcar. Can anyone say hypocrites in politics? Most definitely, it is! And I must add, a democrat here in Milwaukee has a hate on this as well. Find him. Hint: he’s an Alderman.

And part of that is, the hate of them is on Milwaukee. The city is the leading engine for the whole state depending on the economics. Mostly that. So we got some lawmakers and Political GOP Hypocrites in our state that favor one thing and spread hypocritcal issues on many which includes minorities. This includes Scott Walker! Yep, I said it! Can anyone say “continued ideals for white supremacy?”

Even us as African Americans whom are at the 6-8 percent living in Wisconsin. Heard that before!

Third and last card: Stop sleeping on UMCOR!

For many of us who are still think that the American Red Cross is the only thing that is helpful, (not to disrespect them) don’t assume that. If you have not heard of UMCOR before I assume that:

A) You’re not United Methodist and don’t know jack about it.

B)You are United Methodist that just heard about it by googling

C) You think that ALL Churches don’t always donate to the cause based on lopsided opinions or experience. or;

D)All of the Above or

E)Any of the choices.

For those who are wondering, what is this UMCOR? What is it? UMCOR stands for United Methodist Committee on Relief. This organization is a church organization that has been in the game of support since 1940. It started out as a refugee support during the Second World War. The United Methodist Church has this reputation that when disaster strikes in any part of the world, The UMC is on point with UMCOR. If you don’t know what it is, click on the link to learn about it.

Now why I am talking about UMCOR? Why not the others? Well let me say this: UMCOR is part of my denomination, the United Methodist Church. And every United Methodist Church should know about UMCOR in a connectional sense of support. This is not just local support, but this is world wide support. There are United Methodist Churches in the globe that has this direct connection with UMCOR. And many are asking, well why haven’t I heard this before? Ummmmm…..many of you need to read the answers above! Now the next question is, what kinds of support or supplies does UMCOR do? What about the donations?

As far as support: from the website it states:

UMCOR helps annual conferences…

  • Prepare for disasters. UMCOR works cooperatively with annual conferences in the event of an emergency and to prepare for emergencies. We work through the disaster response coordinator to provide training in all aspects of disaster response. Call your conference office to find out who is your disaster response coordinator.
  • Respond to disasters. UMCOR always responds to emergencies at the invitation of and through the affected Annual Conference. In addition to providing training, UMCOR offers technical assistance and support through a highly trained network of staff, consultants, and experienced volunteers to help annual conferences respond to all phases of a disaster.
  • Recover from disasters. UMCOR can send emergency grants immediately to fund start-up relief activities. UMCOR also supports long-term recovery ministries through the provision of grants, planning, technical assistance, and training, and helps coordinate volunteers. All requests for assistance are received through the conference disaster coordinator.

For training: According to the website, UMCOR offers a wide range of disaster readiness and response training. See our list of training programs and calendar for more information.

*As an example, UMCOR hosted a Disaster Training session in the Caribbean last year in 2016. Read about this of what they went through.

For the financial donation: UMCOR uses 100% of the proceeds given to the needs mostly.

Types of Supplies: UMCOR assembles Relief Supply Kids for the most needed – Cleaning, Hygiene and School Kits. Check it out here.

So guess what? UMCOR is the real deal. Like I said, you probably have donated to the American Red Cross, United Way, Salvation Army or many other organizations that many know. Nothing wrong with that. But the fact of matter is UMCOR is being slept on. And it’s a church organization that is on the move since 1940. I highly suggest that every UNITED METHODIST CHURCH need to have the info on UMCOR in your church bulletins, announcements, Social Media Pages, and others about this. And for you non-members or former church goers that got mad and expressing your liberties like crazy online like Facebook, look: you have had your message clear. But don’t EVER overshadow the thought that you got churches that are doing this through connections with overall objectives. And I should remind you: that not all are about the money, or being “highly christian” and lowly on you. We are not perfect. And neither are you. So let that sink in. And this is not Joel Osteen stuff here! Just to pass along.

Hate to say it, but it is the truth!

Give back!

Well I thought I wouldn’t do this, but it’s time to do an rant on the spot. And that rant is about the Leftists or some of the Democrats has this “dislike” of three potential ideal picks in the next run to get the seat back. I’m talking about Sen. Kamala Harris, Senator Cory Booker, and former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. All three are very potential in having the idea in the eyes of others to run for President for 2020, but the latter of matter is that many in the “Leftist” rank think that they are not potential enough. Mainly still stuck on the Bernie Sanders/Hillary Clinton angle. And for those whom are not known for this, Bernie is an Independent Candidate that ran as a Democrat. But I don’t understand why are the senators of Harris, Booker and Patrick are getting this “dislike” and somewhat hate from the same party group that they are supporting. For Senator Harris, look: I really like her. She’s got a poise on her. And according to the stories, the angles of her being supportive of Black Lives Matter, and an experience with being a prosecutor in California. So what’s the matter with those I ask? Like really? The hate on Cory Booker, relates to the ties to Wall Street, and this “not so nice” relation to Big Pharma. And as former governor Deval Patrick is concerned: he works for Bain Capital as a managing director. And yes, even Cory Booker at one time defended Bain Capital while realizing that notion when both parties were facing the same examples of financial concerns on Wall Street.

But I have to ask, why are we the African-American base of the Democratic Party have to go through this “permission list” of whom to pick of the whole contenders? Can we make our own picks?

The whole thing in this predicament, is almost like, “oh we shouldn’t pick them because of the angles of being a prosecutor or with Black Lives Matter is flat out ridiculous. Really it is. It’s shameful that the progressives wouldn’t dive in on it. Why not progressives?!!! Let’s be real! These picked out of the black side of the DNC are interesting and should be on the pulse of the 2020 Election. And should be. But oh……no.

If I have to be a betting man I would pick a Kamala Harris/Cory Booker ticket for 2020. Just my opinion. No Progressive or Leftist opinions necessary!

For many of us, it’s the last leg for President Barack Obama and Family. He will always be a type of President that many will talk about for years to come.

HOWEVER: there are those who felt that he didn’t do enough or should have been more on the Black Community over the Gays, Women, and many others. Of course, we can talk about the times that the Republicans REFUSED to have the vote in, the ACA, jobs, and world issues. And of course we can talk about the many many times that some goober talked about “YOU LIE” and many other hate angles. Oh, including that Mitch McConnell said that he would be a one term president. We know that bullet was dodged.

So today, being that it’s the day that we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. And the hopes that many WILL learn besides the dream. King wasn’t always about I Have A Dream. More on that later. With today being for MLK, I’m shifting the focus on the past 8 years that America Had it’s Black President for real and for the yahoos, racists, haters, sellouts, and wackos who felt he didn’t deserve it: YES HE DID!

Who thought that the 8 years was so positive for Obama?

Did the Republicans really succeed badly when they decided to go against Obama?

Why did the “Blue Dog” Democrats had sold out?

They say that Obama was a socialist. REALLY?!

When was the day that Obama had to really defend himself?

Many of you must have forgotten that Barack got a Nobel Peace Prize, right?

Oh for the forgotten doors: Why so much has been asked what he had done? Another reason why Americans have some short memory spans. And I’m not talking about the older folks. Younger folks don’t remember much either. SAD!

So the soon-to-be President Donald Trump had Barack to produce his Birth Certificate and many had followed. You do realize that was a dumb move, right?

Why did Fox News feared Barack’s middle name “Hussein”?

Oh when the time that Osama Bin Laden was killed, were you  or anyone else cheering along with the President’s decision then?

For you: the Tea Party jack offs: Why so racist? Like really!

Has EVERY COLLEGE really had to dig deep about the degrees and jobs that Obama made a declaration to check on?

Has EVERY ORGANIZATION of Debt, or Credit Checks, really assigned themselves well after a few changes when OBAMA made that declaration?

Oh let’s talk education again: specifically community colleges. Have many of us realized that Community Colleges cannot be slept on? Also like science fairs for the kids?

For all you conspirators and jack offs: why making all this mess about him wanting to be killed?

For all you Michelle Obama haters: yeah those kept those so called “ape in heels”, or “she should act more First Lady Like” or like Wisconsin Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner said something about her having a big butt, or others making ridiculous comments about her outfits or just her in general  that weren’t as lady like: Do you ALL realize that you sounded so stupid after making those remarks, and many of you probably don’t have jobs now?

For all you Sasha and Malia Haters: you know that ignorance is a mitch, right?!

And folks, were we so overboarded when Sasha wasn’t at her father’s last speech?

And also: that time when Malia was at Lollapalooza in Chicago and yes she was being a normal carefree teen at 18. But did we really OVERREACT that much?  Yes, Malia will learn accountability as she grows up. 18 doesn’t mean much that well per se.

What about Malia taking a year off before starting college? Should all High School Graduates follow that same procedure?

Did the losers like John McCain and Mitt Romney actually learned their lessons after losing to Barack in 2008 and 2012?

Did Black Entertainment really rocked when Obama was in office?

Did Hip Hop really rocked when Obama was in office? So many Obama references in rap songs like crazy.

For all of the black media: BET, TVOne, Podcasts, Social Media sites, Newspapers, Radio Shows, Magazines, Blogs, Articles, and more: was all that appreciated of the JOLT of Confidence by our work to archive for the Obama-Biden Crew?

For all of the black businesses that printed up Obama T-shirts, hats, buttons, sweaters, jackets, in all: Can we do more of that even after Obama is not in office?

For all the black supporters that backed Obama since DAY ONE: did we really back him up other than hearing the speeches?

For all the black churches that invited Obama to speak: was it good?

For all of the Joe Biden haters: have you disregarded him too much?

Joe Biden was the huge F-ing deal as VP. Agree or Disagree?

Yes, Barack and Joe had the bromance thing going. We know. But others are asking why and how. Really?

Obamacare was the jolt for healthcare. Why are those wanting to kill it for those who want to be insured, get checked, pay less, etc?

For those whom are major confused: Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act are the same thing! Why is that so hard?

Did anyone of us got lucky when we can finally take pictures IN THE WHITE HOUSE?

Why do republicans as much want to erase everything that Obama did like he never existed? Hate does come into play.

CALLOUT: For all of my conscious, hotep, and sometimes not connectable black people: what was it that Obama wanted to do for us?

CALLOUT: For all of my conscious, hotep, and sometimes not connectable black people: what was it that Obama should have done for us besides well, being President of the United States?

CALLOUT: For all of my conscious, hotep, and sometimes not connectable black people: did we really partied that much in these 8 years?

CALLOUT: For all of my conscious, hotep, and sometimes not connectable black people that didn’t do enough: why are we mad now that Donald Trump is going in? EXPLAIN! Put down the Hidden Colors and Dr. Umar Johnson speeches for a moment. Just explain why.

CALLOUT: For all of my conscious, hotep, and sometimes not connectable black people that didn’t vote (as well as everyone else): REALLY?

For all the international folks, can you really remind us that Obama was the best thing that America had since Kennedy or Bill Clinton?

CALLOUT: For the international folks that hated Obama. Called him a monkey and all that mess, you realize that your racism is just as deadly as America, right? And you know who you are. Don’t front!

For the racists: You really think that Black Lives Matter was linked with Obama all this time?

About that 60% approval rating though. Really? Yeah really though.

For all the gun freaks: were you really that scared that Barack was coming for your Guns way after the gun issues were handed out? Oh, he Skeet Shooted at Camp David with a rifle. Hmmmm………..

For the misinformed that were way too misinformed about Obama: when will you get your facts straight? Besides him where he was born, got his education, his teachings, his first jobs, etc!

For the doubters: have you underestimated Obama by a slight margin?  Or should I say a big margin?

Who is getting Obama’s book when it comes out in the near future?

Anyone is still or will continue to donate to OFA and/or My Brother’s Keeper? And the female groups?

Did GM rocked the house after the bail out for jobs? Plus the jobs that bounced back to positive digits?

What group of folks are still hating on Community Organizers? Don’t front!

Will this President inspire those to run for office, especially of color?

Will the Obama-Biden Crew continue to be a force that no one can NEVER EVER overstep or deny

And the last question. After 8 years, one term in Illinois: Will you miss “the hell “out of President Barack Hussein Obama II? Admit the guilt.

Oh for those of us whom of the Generation X, Y and Millennials whom are 18 and up to about 45, next week we like those many before us that have to make a decision: voting in a new administration for our country. Plus maybe activating or reactivating those whom want their seats back in the Senate, House, or others. No matter how we feel about the candidates or their stance, know this: WE NEED TO VOTE! No more hiding before the keyboards or being so called conscious about not voting period. The voting games maybe somewhat “rigged” but what are we doing to “unrig” it? Other than whining and complaining everything on Social Media or our cliques. Oh yes, I just went there.

To us voters between 18-45 years old:

It’s me, Stephen. You know that blogger you’ve noticed lately?

I haven’t written a blog letter in a minute, but I feel this is the blog letter that must be written. Our generation is in Crossroads mode.We see the signs of concern. Majority of us probably will and will not vote for a cluster of reasons. But look here: if you are not voting this Election Season towards the end of this year and write some stupid remark, then you must be dumb as hell. Do you realize that our future is on the line? Majority of us don’t have the caliber of our Baby Boomer and Greatest Generation counterparts who raised us to be where we are now. Yes, we have alot to be grateful for right now, but we must not overlook the playbooks that got us here in the first place. Many of us got great degrees, owing our stuff like clockwork. Nothing wrong with that. I see that everyday. But again, we didn’t get here on our own. Many of us know that we had folks whom acted wise and gave us butt whoppings acting up pushed us to a point where we want to be.

Had a chance to talk to my 70 year old mother today and we compared contrasts about why there are those of us who know about the assasinations of MLK and others in our history books, BUT NEVER LIVED IT! She highlighted that if it weren’t for Black people in Milwaukee years ago, there wouldn’t be black folks living near the Grand Aveune Mall or any other part of Wisconsin Avenue. And it seems that about the Millennials: the act of not acknowledging about the past before them and keeping it current is not right. If you are a Millennial and only will vote for the locals and not national is not a good idea. If you are a Gen Y that stated on Social Media that you will not vote: that is inexcusable! And if you a Gen Xer who would think that Daffy Duck, Casper the Ghost, Jesus Christ, Lion-O, Cobra Commander, Optimus Prime, Megatron, or Mickey Mouse would make the cut on your ballot, CLUELESS! That will get no play. NONE. And the thing is it’s like we don’t no part of this.

This also probably have ties to slavery in some ways that the way of thinking of back then, translates to now. Yeah I said it!  I know some of you probably don’t want to hear that, but guess what: It’s part of the painful truth like White Supremacy. And we in the black community know it.

Remember when Cory Booker talked about of the Gen X’ers  being on third base after all being drunk and happy like we don’t see the real reasons why we can’t have all this goodies that many of our folks fought hard to get! And I don’t give a care how educated we are. Yeah we got those degrees hanged up on our walls and offices. But many of US aren’t educated to give back to our Alumni functions for scholarships!  Hmmmmm…Oh you think I ruffled the feathers? I told the truth!

Many of us aren’t “educated enough” to go to the doctor, and yes ladies I know it’s “Movember” in which men have to be on our game when our health is on the line. But here’s my question, isn’t every month a Movember?! Whereas the every month is Aids, Cancer, Diabetes Prevention, Domestic Violence Awareness, Gun Violence Awareness, and any other Awareness on the calendar? Tell me I’m wrong! Not just men, but also women and children.

I need to see a “VOTING AWARENESS” Month. And it doesn’t matter whom is on the ballot, I just want to Vote Up!

I want to see a “CAREER AWARENESS” Month in which many of us whom are unemployed and underemployed that want to work and make a freaking LIVING! Many of us or some of us got that drive, but not actually executing it to the next level.

If we can have THOSE AWARENESS Months like Cancer, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Childhood Health,  Bullying, Gun Violence Awareness and any other awareness that we put up each month, I want to see a Career Awareness and a Voting Awareness month. I suppose you guys like that, huh?

For voting: I think we’re just not engaged. I think the sign came at the top of the year that 2016 will be a “Hard Election” in which the main Administration of the Obamas will be going out in January 2017. And yes, every single hater on the planet will be waving that goodbye flag in a racist manner. President Barack Obama will be deeply missed that he wasn’t that bad after all. Maybe there were those that should have given him more credit of the work he did. Maybe those so-called fools who decided to go against all the calls that Obama did try to bring out should have worked. Even fully try to decide the best course for the Afforable Care Act. In which like Black Lives Matter is working. That’s right I said it!

What does it all mean, you ask? Well yes we’ve made some great strides, but the work IS STILL NOT DONE! That means we have to work hard, do our jobs everyday, give back, fight the forces of racism, sexism, shaming, and any other ISM that is on our target list. For us black folks, we have to always work twice as hard. That will never change no matter who is in office. Enough of us being all so-called conscious after looking at Hidden Colors. Enough of all the mess. Enough of the “I gotta go get my hair done than voting” talk. If we can stand in line to get that new IPhone or at the club looking at Lil’ Boosie, can we stand in line to vote on November 8th and EVERY SINGLE ELECTION DAY AFTER THAT?!

The elders will be leaving us soon and they have already solidified the future, but it’s mainly up to us to take care of the things we have to do to extend the life of groups, organizations, churches, your business connections, the schools, colleges, Alumni Associations, and others. It’s not just the next four years, it’s the four after that. And so on.

So: GenX, Gen Y and Millennials: STOP BEING SO F-ING LAZY! Stop this being that “this won’t effect me”. Oh it will. After Election Day is done, don’t even think about complaining on Facebook, your texing buddies, or any other connection that you weren’t the ones who went to the polls and didn’t cast a ballot. I’ve been voting for 20 years out of my life and I voted in boring elections, high elections, and elections I never really cared about. Plus when Obama was being elected for the first time. But I still voted regardless and I don’t have a complaint to do it!

So why in THE HELL are we tripping? STOP THE PAIN! STOP THE LAZINESS! And just put away all this mess that voting that won’t make it. It will make it, but you have to put in the WORK! I don’t care if you hate Hillary’s guts or like her ideas, or despise the effect of Donald Trump and what he recently said about nasty women, the disabled, getting the clues of turning back the clock with Jim Crow,  and the on going talk about the 1994 Crime Bill that BILL CLINTON put into effect way back. Hillary had nothing to do with that. Let’s be clear on this. Now add that to the radio or websites.

This is not a reality show, nor back in High School where you used to believe EVERYTHING! But in reality, when leaving High School and those rumors, will be addressed and debunked personally.

VOTE UP!

Sincerely,

Stephen

I haven’t done this in a while, but guess what Wisconsin? I Told You So.

Today is the one year anniversary in which most of us thought we took the state back. Oh really? Did we? Did we really took the state back in a manner of being besmirched by the waves of the Tea Party? Not this Wisconsinite. If those don’t’ remember, this was the anniversary in which most in Wisconsin thought that having Scott Walker to retain the seat in Madison is a good idea to cash on the voters who wanted him removed in the recall. Today would have been that day that I would have been saying Governor Tom Barrett. But Barrett is still Mayor in Milwaukee. Speaking of that, this is the same Walker who thought “cared” about Milwaukee. The comment that Walker used that “We don’t want to be like Milwaukee” is nothing more than a racist-like  rant. Don’t forget this is the same Scott Walker that enforced Act 10, derailed a High Speed Rail Project that would have linked Milwaukee and Madison to jobs, all care about the highways, and the education/medicare funds were slashed up the yin yang. Oh, just today and leading to today, Wisconsin has reached at 44 when it comes to jobs. Ranked also 49 when it comes to Economic Outlook. The Governor who prides being a college dropout with a Letterman Jacket from High School doesn’t have the 250,000 private sector jobs locked in. If the High Speed Rail would have been a boom in terms of jobs, some of that would have been added. Or did I mentioned that the Bail Bonds Idea would be getting to the Badger State? And its not because of the jobs. It’s really about money to tell the truth. Speaking of money, that connection with Koch Brothers is really stupid.

CALLOUT: So I dare to ask: Is Wisconsin is really OPEN FOR BUSINESS?

Just today also, as I was listening to WNOV this morning, there was a talk about the use and possession of Marijuana in Wisconsin. In terms of blacks getting arrested. As I was listening to The Forum, by the way it’s still being broadcasted by Sherwin Hughes. He noted about the arrests that of blacks in Wisconsin have a higher rate of getting busted with pot. Here’s a shocker: Waukesha, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, had arrested blacks 12 times more than the rate of whites. Also: For Brown County, the same Brown County where Green Bay is, according to the article: “blacks were arrested for marijuana possession at more than seven times the rate of whites in 2010, compared with 6.5 times in Dane County and 4.7 times in Milwaukee County.” Now what does that have to do with an on going thing with the recall, or hating an transportation like High Speed Rail? Remember when I said a couple of blogs ago, that some who voted big for Walker, as they were watching the trains being built in Milwaukee, I’ll bet that there are some who probably living in the Red Counties had comments like “I don’t want to see those folks around here!” Don’t lie! And majority of the folks probably building the trains were multi-ethnic. Specifically Black near 27th and Townsend. Many of us in the Milwaukee Area (the African American Community, mind you) emphasized on that subject via WNOV in a different light. Not that same light that Charlie Sykes, Vicki McKenna, or Mark Belling don’t tell you, nor won’t care about.  Now forget about that so-called boondoggles, or “It’s a waste of Government Spending”, or “It’s too expensive.” Or my personal favorite “No one will ever ride it.” So for those who say No one will ride the train, that’s a lame excuse of not trying to find something to new to move from one point to another. We preach about this everyday. ESPECIALLY ON THE 4th of JULY, about freedom and equality.  Many of us can’t be equal passing through Jefferson County or any other county that has a notion of negativity of blacks or ideas in trying to get the state back to the number one spot. Wisconsin is only 6% when it comes the African-American Population. Many of those who think or touch the subject, it’s all smoke and mirrors. But when you add new forms of segregation into the mix, it’s no comparison. Such as trying to redistrict the voting areas trying to make it harder for those to vote. But that backfired didn’t it? Many in Milwaukee did came out and voted up for President Obama at a rate of 87%, slightly higher from 2008 at 80%.

Now if those who came out for President Obama, why weren’t enough VOTERS to come out for ripping Walker out of Madison in terms of recalling him? Here are some responses like “Oh, many didn’t care or didn’t like the recall….” If you don’t vote, you don’t count! Plus also, I don’t understand if you are a union guy or a union gal, and if you were part of the 30 or 40% that VOTED for Walker, there is something wrong. Did I fail to mention that most of collective bargaining were stripped of those who work as Teacher or non-rescue person? And it all fed to the Firefighters and Police Officers mostly. Overall, I have alot of respect of those who put their lives on the line locally. But for deciding to back Walker, after the B.S. he’s pulled, really?! It’s no surprise to Milwaukee in which he almost went postal as County Executive for 8 years.

Red to Blue Badgers

Now the Democrats in Wisconsin didn’t celebrate the so-called June 5th Victory, but realizing that when you are ranked 44 in Jobs in the entire country, there is nothing to celebrate about period. And yes the Democrats in Wisconsin currently have low energy in taming the new beast of the Republican Party in Badger State. Recently, the Badger Blue Squad launched a campaign style devotion called “Red to Blue Badgers.” This will be a collective effort in which the party would go to the counties that were deeply red, and lecture to those why Walker is bad news. If the Democrats had tried that before the recall per say, Walker would NOT be in Madison right now. And part of the low energy of the Democrats, that they don’t have a contender to face Walker in 2014, yet. Some are saying Peter Barca, or Chris Larson, or Mahlon Mitchell. But whoever it is, better have a solid base of getting at Walker at all fronts. This time there cant be no let downs for anything, if YOU are a hardcore Wisconsin Democrat.

Another speech in the books. This past 2013 State of the Union begins the new for the President for the Second Term as we know. I have to say that this was the speech in terms that needed after the Inauguration in terms of getting back to business. Fortunelaty, in my view the State of the Union is: Strong but must stabilize to improve.  My picks from the Speech by President Obama had me highlighting many areas ranging from Education, Jobs, Military, Healthcare and Immigration.

But the absolute highlights: Voting and Gun Violence. First I have to comment the voting thing. When President Obama acknowledged Desiline Victor, who is an 102 year old black woman that resides in Florida, had to wait about 7 hours just to cast her ballot in line. Really?! 7 Hours. 7 freaking hours. Keep in mind, she is an elderly woman of 102 years. We all heard about the voter dilemmas in Florida with Rick Scott at the helm, but seriously I want ask this question: would you allow your grandmother, or great-grandmother, or great-great Grandmother to stand in line for 7 hours, in their ages between 80 and 100 just to cast a ballot? When I heard that, it was shameful. Really shameful because no person no matter who you like on the ballot should not stand in line very long just to cast a ballot! Oh I know the folks on the opposition probably said but “at least she got to vote”. Don’t get me started on that. That same tone to me is like for those who lose most of everything on a job part, and those who say “at least you got a job” in a sarcastic commentary.

Technically, when I was doing the Election Inspector jobs in 2012, I never turned NO Voter away. None! Everyone has a right to vote. No matter which side you like. We know what they are. And in the midst of this, most in the chamber did stood up, but for those like John Boenher did not. Why? Oh I get it, he’s a Republican guy. Never mind. Speaking of that, those like Boehner, and others who didn’t stand up for health care nor the Violence against Women Act, something that Joe Biden presented back when I was still in High School. And also, the healthcare factor. Plus, I dare say: JOBS! Already, the Obama Crew displayed 6 Million Jobs thus far. When the President proposed the America Jobs Act last time, most of the Congress did not pass the entire bill, which was blocked. No need to go further who done it because those who blocked the bill are the same folks who might be facing their wrath of voters in 2014. Particularly some of that was passed, but not all. And for the record, almost everything that Obama proposed, it was blocked and why you ask? We should know by now. And yes it’s has something to do with working with him. I dare say, race is a factor.

Now I do want to shift from that to Gun Violence. Now if the readers are one of the “Gun Nuts” who love to wave around the Smith and Wesson while reading this, you might not want to watch the screen. President Obama did mentioned a small sample of cities and individuals who were effected by Gun Violence. First he mentioned someone who recently attended his second inauguration, Hadiya Pendelton. This teen was 15 years old that was gunned down in Chicago and plus, not too far from Obama’s Chicago Home!  Then he said Gabby Giffords, then Newtown, then Aurora, then Oak Creek, then Blacksburg, and commented other cities that were effected by Gun Violence. Some Americans were probably tripping (and maybe still are) about a recent photo of the President Firing a Rifle of him Skeet Shooting. This is not about him skeet shooting. This is not about him taking away citizens’ rights for guns. And what was Ted Nugent doing there anyway? Mr. “Cat Scratch Fever” should not have come. I’m sorry. The only reason he’s out in the elements (quoting my mother) is all because of his love for guns and those like him think that the president is coming after him all because of it. Plus he like many others are just paranoid. Many of the GOP should have called him out on his B.S. but did they? Nope.

Oh, what about Marco Rubio? Lesson #1 – NEVER DRINK YOUR WATER BEFORE YOU COME ON CAMERA AND GIVE YOUR RESPONSE TO THE STATE OF THE UNION! I mean seriously. Why?! I’m glad I missed that part besides his downward commentary of Obama’s speech. I mean talk about being unprepared. And about the other reactions like Scott Walker, who said today as usual that he would not accept the Medicare Expansion Package. He thinks that the state of Wisconsin “should get fewer aid for those who are uninsured and those who are fewer to depend on government”. As usual. And if you thought that his refusal of High Speed Rail was bad. Just interesting, I was hearing the Earl Ingram Show here in Milwaukee that Wisconsin would have gotten on board with the federal aid parts that would lead into jobs. By the way, The Earl Ingram Show is on Black Radio in Milwaukee. Look for it on 1290 WMCS via the internet. Or locally in the Milwaukee Area. That right there, in my view, is the boat (or one of the boats) that Scott Walker is missing with his decisions in Madison. SHAMEFUL! And the majority of the state has to suffer just like the rest. Just like when Alan Grayson of Florida once said about the Republicans wanting you to “Die Quickly.”  Just like I used to say in my blogs back when, I told you so!  Now if you are working at a McDonald’s or Target working at least $8.00 per hour chances are you might not be covered medically, but if having Obamacare/Universal Healthcare per say that might lighten the load. See that Wisconsin? We are missing the Boat with a Tail-end Attitude. Plus this reminds me of The Milwaukee Malaise that was published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel back in January.

Obviously, hearing the State of the Union 2013 was the first step. And certainly, not the last.

In the recent days of the talk about Guns in America, an announcement from Milwaukee came into the fold in regarding the stance of defense, dialing 9-1-1 not being a best option, and the phrase “Wolf at the Door”. Many in Wisconsin are having a divided debate about the radio announcement that Sheriff David Clarke of the Milwaukee County Sheriff Department had came out and the results are not that promising to favor or not favor.

If you haven’t heard it recently, here it is:

Now what is the “Stephen’s Spot” take on this? Now with all the use of the guns going out, there is no need that the city, nor County of Milwaukee shouldn’t be wilding out at the OK Corral. This is not the Wild West, and not I’m not a cowboy. But partially I will say that yes, the citizens should defend their families. As a matter of fact, EVERY citizen should have a right to defend themselves and their homes when intruders show up unceremoniously. Oh, yeah the thought about the melee from 2010 with the Wisconsin State Fair still rings in very well doesn’t it? And I heard the comments about “I can’t wait for November 1st to come fast enough!” That is just as bad as “build it now” when it comes to the Milwaukee Brewers and Miller Park. I really also have to ask, what happened to Self-Defense? You know, Karate, Kung-Fu in all of that? Technically, I would rather use Mixed Martial Arts on a jobber than use a Desert Eagle. Or like the wrestlers in the WWE, break out the Kendo-Sticks and steel chairs. I’m just saying. Many folks now tend forget that using a Gun is not just the only form of Defense. Yeah, the folks can take all the Concealed Carry Weapon classes all they want. But will that CCW stuff save you soul? I’m just saying. Also there is nothing wrong with dialing 9-1-1 being a joke. OK, Flava Flav once said it. I get it.

Now I’m not advocating “God and Guns” here. Save that for the Tea Party and the Republicans. But keep in mind that Sheriff Clarke is a registered Democrat, but gets love from the Right Wing Media and I dare say the Right Wing here in Wisconsin. That may sound weird, but it’s the truth. Plus the Sheriff is African-American. Not a shock! The debate about this PSA, has even reached the national Airwaves of Fox and Friends and also CNN’s Soledad O’Brien. Now, I’ve seen Soledad doing her thing on CNN with these interviews, and she doesn’t mess around. But I think that there should have been another person getting into the grill of Clarke. Two words: Roland Martin. That’s right I said it. That’s what I said Wisconsinites! If Roland would have been given a chance to interview the Sheriff, he (the Sheriff) would not have a field day of his defensive front to get crunk like here in the Milwaukee/Wisconsin Areas. Like Soledad, Roland doesn’t play either. Every now and then, the hashtag sentence of #bringthefunk would get the attention.

Plus recently, he was featured with Mayor Tom Barrett on Piers Morgan, and I will say that even though the debate of the subject got going back and forth with a little of overlapping, Piers asked a simple question to Sheriff Clarke in favoring Universal Background Checks. Obviously, the Sheriff went “long ball” with the judicial and courts stuff. But…….It was simple question! YES OR NO! How hard can that be?!

Lot of you probably went to Youtube, and saw the David Clarke ad and said “oh, I gotta use this!” My advice: Don’t fool yourself. Just my opinion.
