Postface: Now we may not know the author of this statement, but whomever he or she is, we’ll know it. But the author points out harsh truths of murder among Black Americans is noted and should be stopped!

Ok, I need to say something about this. Women, and those women who read my stuff, quick question: have you really had a blessed International Women’s Day? I’ll leave that up to you to ponder.

My emphasis is really focused on your day being asked the same tired question about this: “When is International Men’s Day?”

Oh don’t lie. Many of us dudes and yes some of you females been asking about a day that is set aside for the men to rejoice of being recognized. Yes I’m talking to you! We’ve seen it over and over again: November 19th. Annually. Every single year. And yet we get mad. Wanna get mad? Get mad and vote out the Republican fools that follow the “Make America Great Again” stuff. And yes Women, in regarding this, some of you probably voted or rooted for Trump in 2016. Tried to tell you.

Now let lay in the horn on the whining. Why was there was “whining” about a International Men’s Day on the International Women’s Day of March 8th?! Taking a deep thought breath here. I can list two to four:

1) Information is Power.

2) Folks are searching for knowledge. Repeated knowledge that many know.

3) Folks really want to know.

And 4) Google and Wikipedia are really a rally source that many don’t access or choose.

There are choices here. I did a Google search here without falling off the cliff last year. I saved my energy for saving of searching for an International Men’s Day. And also I realized that the International Men’s Day does have a website. Matter of fact, here it is:

And the theme for 2018: “Positive Male Role Models”.

From the website, these are the objectives:

Objectives of International Men’s Day include a focus on men’s and boy’s health, improving gender relations, promoting gender equality, and highlighting positive male role models. It is an occasion for men to celebrate their achievements and contributions, in particular their contributions to community, family, marriage, and child care while highlighting the discrimination against them.

Okay…what else?

According to the website, this year in regarding Positive Male Role Models”.

Many boys today don’t know what it means to be a man because they don’t have a man in their lives. Sadly, children will go to bed tonight without saying goodnight to their father because he just isn’t there.

Nearly one-fourth of America’s children live in mother-only families. These frightening statistics are similar to a lessor or greater extent the world over.

More than likely, a woman teaches them at school and at home. So, where do they see and interact with positive male role models? Or, how do the boys learn what it means to be a man? Television? Movies? Internet? On the street?

Even in homes where the father is present, research shows that the average father spends less than 10 minutes a day one-on-one with his child. In our society, emotional and spiritual fatherlessness is becoming the norm. Many of today’s fathers did not have positive role models to show them how to be a father, so they are not there to show their children what it means to be a father.

No matter how great a mother is, she cannot replace what a father provides to a child. Irrefutable research shows that mothers are typically nurturing, soft, gentle, comforting, protective and emotional. Fathers tend to encourage risk-taking and to be challenging, prodding, loud, playful and physical. Children need a balance of protection and reasonable risk-taking. If a positive male role model isn’t around, there is a void in this child’s life. Children without positive male role models are more likely to be involved in criminal activity, premarital sexual activity, do poorer in school and participate in unhealthy activities.

Studies have shown that involvement of a father or a positive male role model has profound effects on children. Father-child interaction promotes a child’s physical well-being, perceptual ability and competency for relating with others. Furthermore, these children demonstrate greater ability to take initiative and evidence self-control.

Okay….So how can men of any kind be more in the lives of children, especially with no kids that they want to support?

Via the website:

  • Encourage positive male role model involvement in your child’s life if you’re a mum. (Mother)

  • If you’re a non-custodial dad, make the effort to visit with your children more often. You can also be very intentional about teaching them important life lessons.

  • If you are an educator, encourage fathers to be more active in the classroom.

  • You can influence the lives of children in your community be being a positive male role model.

  • Faith-based institutions and programs can bring fathers together with their children. Additionally, they can encourage male role models to engage children in their sphere of influence.

  • If you are a community leader use International Men’s Day on 19 November 2018 to celebrate Positive Male Role Models and give awards for the same.

  • Business leaders can encourage employee involvement in community efforts with children. For example, you can promote mentoring with organizations like Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, youth groups, Boys Club or Girls, Inc.

More from the site:

The November IMD is a significant date as it interfaces the popular ‘Movember‘ charity event and also with Universal Children’s Day on Nov 20 with which IMD forms a 48 hour celebration of men and children respectively, and of the special relationships they share.

The ability to sacrifice your needs on behalf of others is fundamental to manhood, as is honor. Manhood rites of passage the world over recognize the importance of sacrifice in the development of Manhood.

Men make sacrifices everyday in their place of work, in their role as husbands and fathers, for their families, for their friends, for their communities and for their nation. International Men’s Day is an opportunity for people everywhere of goodwill to appreciate and celebrate the men in their lives and the contribution they make to society for the greater good of all.

Methods of commemorating International Men’s Day have included public seminars, conferences, festivals and fundraisers, classroom activities at schools, radio and television programs, Church observances, and peaceful displays and marches. The manner of observing this annual day is optional; any organizations are welcome to host their own events and any appropriate forums can be used.

Does this sound like an idea? We see this all the time, but this is more on a international level regarding all men. No matter with kids or not.  International Men’s Day is the youngest of the two. This was started in 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago. International Men’s Day is young. It’s a young international holiday that highlights the achievements and accomplishments of Men in the world.

Now many are probably (AGAIN) joking around and want poke the bear about the day that is way young than International Women’s Day.  It’s kind of obvious that there are those who want to know about the day of International Men, but have NO IDEA what the day is about. Where as International Women’s Day comes every year and yes WOMEN, some of you have no idea why you have Women’s Rights. That’s the main reason right there!

And I, unlike those who didn’t  advised me, I had to do my homework on my own. I had to research International Men’s Day on my own. And I had to summarize International Men’s Day ON MY OWN. NO male and NO female never told me to do this. But as a Man, A black man born in America, I had to do my study time and to familiarize myself about this 19th Day of November. We know that this day for us Americans ties in with the Gettysburg Address by Abraham Lincoln.

But on a black history level courtesy of

Even though this date in black history has little or no effect on International Men’s Day, but there are other events that happened on this day before a thought of a International Men’s Day had ever been thought about.

I’m glad that now, that there is an International Men’s Day that us MEN can actually take an opportunity in to talk about our concerns, joys, problems, and to be celebrated for what we do. And even though there are naysayers and haters on both men and women who feel the equality thing should be all the time, it’s not. The haters who call some men, whinny or bitter of asking the same tired question without reason are just haters themselves. They don’t give enough information. All they tell you was or is “November 19th.” That’s it. And no other reasons why. I’m a type of person wants to know “what else happens on this November 19th day” that we should about besides the infamous International Men’s Day.  That is missing! The homework of that is not finished.

Someone (a female mind you) suggested that International Men’s Day should be a day to highlight concerns or something that men really care about. And she’s right. And also it ties in the “Movember”awareness of men’s health awareness. And originally, voting. (For us Americans who vote in November).

For all the mean tweets, stop it. You all ready know. That goes for BOTH men and women!

From the Time and Date Website: Representatives from organizations such as the UN expressed support for the event, although it is not an official UN observance. A petition has called for the UN to make International Men’s Day an official UN observance in the interest of equality.

CALLOUT: Gents, we got to hype up our day in about 8 months. Get prepared RIGHT NOW! And keep pushing the thought of International Men’s Day on the calendar!

You may have seen this on Facebook. Or any other outlet. Many of us who have posted this stat are taking real stands of what we see in our U.S. Government. And the center of it is number 45. No, I’m not going to use the name, but we know who he is. But however as far as all that “Making America Great Again” in all: NOPE. Time to rally against the thought that many who supported “45” and having his attitude against immigrants, blacks, Mexicans, and many other things that are not like him is just is. Yes, it’s like a call to activism.

This is where I stand. To me, FB (or this blog post) is a useful vehicle for connecting with old friends and keeping up with family, but it is also a place for my passion and activism. I believe and respect all opinions, even if they don’t agree with mine, so we can all use FB (or this blog post)to vent.

I believe that our 45th President, his power hungry cronies, and the majority of Republicans in Congress are a real and active threat to me, my way of life, and all the people I love. Some people are saying that we should give Trump a chance, that we should “work together” with him because he won the election and he is “everyone’s president.”

This is my response:

•I will not forget how badly he and so many others treated former President Barack Obama for 8 years…

•I will not “work together” to privatize Medicare, cut Social Security and Medicaid.

•I will not “work together” to build a wall.

•I will not “work together” to persecute Muslims.

•I will not “work together” to shut out refugees from other countries.

•I will not “work together” to lower taxes on the 1% and increase taxes on the middle class and poor.

•I will not “work together” to help Trump use the Presidency to line his pockets and those of his family and cronies.

•I will not “work together” to weaken and demolish environmental protection.

•I will not “work together” to sell American lands, especially National Parks, to companies which then despoil those lands.

•I will not “work together” to enable the killing of whole species of animals just because they are predators, or inconvenient for a few, or because some people want to get their thrills killing them.

•I will not “work together” to remove civil rights from anyone.

•I will not “work together” to alienate countries that have been our allies for as long as I have been alive.

•I will not “work together” to slash funding for education.

•I will not “work together” to take basic assistance from people who are at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder.

•I will not “work together” to get rid of common sense regulations on guns.

•I will not “work together” to eliminate the minimum wage.

•I will not “work together” to support so-called “Right To Work” laws, or undermine, weaken or destroy Unions in any way.

•I will not “work together” to suppress scientific research, be it on climate change, fracking, or any other issue where a majority of scientists agree that Trump and his supporters are wrong on the facts.

•I will not “work together” to criminalize abortion or restrict health care for women.

•I will not “work together” to increase the number of nations that have nuclear weapons.

•I will not “work together” to put even more “big money” into politics.

•I will not “work together” to violate the Geneva Convention.

•I will not “work together” to give the Ku Klux Klan, the Nazi Party and white supremacists a seat at the table, or to normalize their hatred.

•I will not “work together” to deny health care to people who need it.

•I will not “work together” to deny medical coverage to people on the basis of a “pre-existing condition.”

•I will not “work together” to increase voter suppression.

•I will not “work together” to normalize tyranny.

I will not “work together” to eliminate or reduce ethical oversite at any level of government.

•I will not “work together” with anyone who is, or admires, tyrants and dictators.

•I will not support anyone that thinks its OK to put a pipeline to transport oil on Sacred Ground for Native Americans. And, it would run under the Missouri River, which provides drinking water for millions of people. An accident waiting to happen.

This is my line, and I am drawing it.

•I will stand for honesty, love, respect for all living beings, and for the beating heart that is the center of Life itself.

•I will use my voice and my hands, to reach out to the uninformed, and to anyone who will LISTEN:

That “winning”, “being great again”, “rich” or even “beautiful” is nothing… When others are sacrificed to glorify its existence.

SSP The Struggle Continues

I know that the holiday of Thanksgiving has ended. Had the chance to eat up the grub that was blessed with. And yes, pie was served with that whip cream. All with the Thanksgiving trimmings with NFL Football in between.

Now I want to call out the fools who want to act a fool on Black Friday with this video:

All of you in these videos: really?! This is one of the main reasons why I do not go out and shop on Black Friday. Nope.

I’ve mentioned this years ago (actually 4 years ago) when I blogged like crazy about the disdain about the frenzy Black Friday showdown at the Best Buy’s, JCPenney’s,  ToysRUS, Walmarts, and many other boxed retailers we’ve been shopping all along! WE KNOW. We pass by these stores everyday on our way to work, school, your friends house, your boyfriend’s or girlfriend’s house, or your favorite spot just to kick it. Don’t tell me we’ve done it.

Speaking of that, remember when I posted this months “Scratching my head question” months ago:

Um….Every year, get up early to go to the stores and get the deals, but can’t do the same for the Worship Services?

Um, yeah. Remember that? Remember when I posted that question? Let that sink in. Well many of you probably have done it. If we get up all early for all these Black Friday deals, which is NO DEAL AT ALL per say, why not get up early for Church? Spoiler Alert: you will get up early again for a major holiday, that would be Christmas. Your kids will be the first ones up as usual going to that tree and pop open them gifts like crazy. Oh I know the feeling because I’ve done it. Many of you who are about my age (turning 4o on December 5th) already knows about that anticipation because we did the same thing. Yeah I know that guilt train is still running on time.

But really though, why is it about some folks or many folks have to fight like hell all because of a TV? Or in this video above, why there are some knuckleheads had to start a fight and then it’s on WorldStar or some tabloid website from your own cell phone? Yes I know that many have cell phones and where there is fight, it will be on the internet. Don’t let the cops catch it! Once it goes out, it goes out. Just like your email addresses!  Don’t be so surprised if someone’s sons are in that video, and it will embarrass the family, their chances of getting into college or a club or an organization will be tarnished. Consequences are a bugger.

We know from history like this clip below does not change. It really doesn’t. And plus what do we say to our children who look at the adults that we tell them to act nice in public? Oh I hate to go there.

Folks: if we tell our children to act right, then we as adults better get right with Jesus and his meetings and ACTUALLY do the job. Enough of the mess. No matter what holiday comes up.

End of the rant.

I know many around the world are mourning the victims that are either being remembered and also those who are being treated with injuries. Once again, Paris France is on the spotlight with the acts of concerns with the hit of Terrorism in the country.

Yes folks, it’s the second time in almost 10 months that the city was a target. This attack was yet again all of ISIS’ fault that caused this stir. But the real question is: Why Paris AGAIN? I’m going to say it twice: Why, Paris AGAIN? Some say it’s an act of War according to the French President. Some say it’s once again an act of Religion that continues to harbor the triggers of these acts. Are the folks saying that ALL religion is behind this? Or just this act in theory? Don’t always assume that Religion overall is always the enemy. With me coming from a United Methodist Church Background that is under the Christianity umbrella, I don’t shove no hate down the throat against anyone. That would be like me using a holy oil on someone that doesn’t want it.

The attacks on Paris per say is like attacking those who didn’t deserve to be attacked. Yes, Americans. France is our oldest ally. After all, it was France that backed us in the Revolutionary War against Great Britain in making America it’s own country. Yes we know. They even backed the country in which 9/11 attacks happened. We know. And yes many here in America had to switch on our Social Media Profile pics with the French Flag Overlay in support of the Paris France Citizens that were affected of the recent attacks.

Now I want to say that having a Hashtag and turning your profile pic in supporting Paris is OK. To those questioning that in a negative manner, I guess you don’t have a clue. Many of the folks who have done this, either have a family member or members that are living in Paris, working in Paris, or even spending education time in Paris for their Universities or Colleges. What is the HATE against that? I’m on my Facebook news feeds yet again, and I had to peep at some attitudes about those supporting the Paris thing, and not supporting the communities, or Kenya. Speaking of Kenya, that is where Barack Obama’s Father is from as we all know. But however for Kenya, as many “so-called conscious” folks knows, they had an attack in which over 100 plus of the citizens had perished earlier THIS YEAR IN APRIL! Probably killed. And when word got out for that, OH HERE THEY COME! They had to bust out the commentary about, “Oh you care about Paris, but forgot about Kenya or Beirut, or folks just forgot about Mizzou’s problem of racism.” REALLY?! For all you so-called conscious folks on the social media, be aware that death does not take a holiday. And to quote Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, “There are no vacations for The Undertaker.” When you woke up this morning, no matter when you woke up about whatever time zone you wake up to, did anyone of us in America knew about Kenya’s problem? Nope! What about those in Paris that knew about Milwaukee’s problems. Does the Paris Community know about our problems of Segregation, unemployment among black, health problems in all? HELL NO! This is just as bad facing terrorism as much as facing gang activity in the hood! Come on folks! And just to think, we’ve been here before. Think back to 9/11. That one morning that we all felt when those towers collapsed, and guess who was one of our supporters when the country was hit? France. What city in France? Paris. Yes, we know that Bush set it up in a sense that he knew those of a Bin Laden or Saddam Hussein that was on the sidelines cheering that we got sucker punched on that Tuesday Morning. The assassinations of MLK, JFK, RFK were bigger news back then that rocked the country to its core! And yes, my conscious black people, I know about 9/11/1801 when our black people were pictured with being hanged from a tree! I KNOW!!!!! All I had to do is to watch the pic on the most common Social Media Platform: Facebook.

CALLOUT: I have a question, where is the real story/references about 9/11/1801?!!!! I want footnotes, summaries, ACTUAL INFORMATION, and also real references that this actually happened. NO BS MEMES! NONE OF THAT! If those probably pulled that to just make folks read that on Social Media without any backup information, YOU HAVE FAILED! I’m not part of that young crowd readers without backup. I am a Seasoned Vet that wants the full detailed information! Challenges are being sent right now!

But on the support of Paris though. Yes there are those who are going to say, “You support a country that you see on TV but never support your own community.” Hmmmmm….I would like to agree with that, but partially I don’t. You never know that someone or anyone would support the Paris Community, and THEIR OWN at the same darn time! Just like the whole Trayvon Martin thing. But Americans, especially some black folks probably forgotten that what happened to Trayvon could happen in your community! The same with the killings in Beirut and Kenya, could be the same of some incident in the countryside where nothing happens. But could happen! I saw some pictures of those in Paris on Facebook that read: Black Lives Matter. Even supporting the I Can’t Breathe moniker. And this movement that some criticize about in this country, is being also talked about and supported in other countries like France.

Hell, there is racism in Europe. Anyone who felt that the #BLM movement is a farce? Watch it.

Finally, let me comment this. I’m not going to say it in French, but English. To the citizens of Paris, France. We hear you. You’ve been hurt. Rattled with violence. Shaken with pain. And had to start thinking about those that you lost in ways of saying farewells. Importantly, it is with this I say that you must rise up. And you will indeed rise up. No matter what ISIS or any other group that deals with terrorism thinks! Be up on your game. We know how us Americans felt on 9/11 and other events of terrorism that harbored the country, and yet our communities. So yes, Paris. There are those in the country and well as other countries will stand with you in prayer. (Even some of you might not like it, but still!) And we hope you will pray for the communities in America that don’t get enough footage about a school racked with racism, or communities in the African Decent areas are being target by the police. High Unemployment among African-American Men and etc.

Paris, Beirut, Kenya, and all other countries or cities being harmed with this terrorism thing: It’s real now. The struggle continues!

I’m going to bust out some questions that really have my head scratching. Some fun, mostly serious. Usually I do this around the end of the year, but this is a warm up in which in December, next month you will see a different turn out.

  • I know it just ended, but why do folks on FB (in a negative sense) spelled Halloween like this: “Holloween”?
  • Has Sheriff David Clarke really put himself over his head about Police Brutality being over? And being scared of black media like Roland Martin on TVOne?
  • Do we really need Paul Ryan to head the Speaker of the House?
  • Anyone from your past STILL has a crush on you and don’t know it?
  • We know (mostly in Milwaukee) Sheriff David Clarke and is almost related conservative commentary. So why the phrase, “Black Lies Matter?”
  • Speaking of which, do people really think that Black Lives Matter is out to kill cops?
  • Take a wild guess: Still, despite of the suggestion of Louis Farrakhan from the “Justice or Else” Rally, are you really going to do Christmas shopping and tell your kids that “I picked out those gifts, instead of Santa Claus?”
  • Veteran’s Day is coming up. Whose lighting the houses green?
  • Will us Sagittarians be really ready after the Scorpios give up the Zodiac Baton? And rule the 9th house as any Sag should?
  • Why did the Christmas stuff came out SO EARLY in the stores? Right after Halloween?
  • For those who like to sabotage High School Class Reunions, or any Reunion: WHAT IS YOUR BEEF?!!!!!
  • For all those who say “We can’t find anyone in the black community” in relation to jobs, where and what are you digging?
  • For the Church Haters out there: Are you really believing that ALL CHURCH MEMBERS AND BISHOPS, MINISTERS, are all the same team to take your money and be pimpish?
  • For all you BGLO/Divine 9’rs out there, DO YOU REALLY invite Iota Phi Theta to your functions, or you just leave them off your plans to attend? Just don’t say, “well we attempt to contact everybody to come…….” TRY HARDER! I mean it with love.
  • Will you, the average voter are assuming that after President Obama leaves office in 2017, still believe that the “nightmare” will be over?
  • Will the Green Bay Packers win the Superbowl, WITHOUT Jordy Nelson and prove to have 14 NFL Straps?
  • For all you Conscious folks out there, always posting those memes on Facebook, and Instagram. Are you really serious about the things you say and believe, or what?
  • Why do folks on Facebook have to post a “photoshop” photo of President Obama and Michelle in a Pimp and Prostitute look? Are they really this dumb?
  • For those who are looking for a man, (especially Single Black Women looking for love) why at times do you have to say all men ain’t you know what? And having this bitter generalization attitude? Not every man you generalize is not your father who left you at 13 or earlier!
  • Not to pick on the Italians, but why was a young gymnast from your country had to say something about painting her skin dark to win gym matches? REALLY?!!!
  • Here is a question: black folks I need to ask, when facing all the problems in the cities, northern cities per say: Why move to Atlanta? Does the ATL have problems like oh……….Milwaukee? Or any other city that deals with high unemployment, racism, black violence,  discrimination against Blacks, etc. No matter where you go, there are problems EVERYWHERE! Especially in states where Slavery started. Just saying.
  • Can those who have Drones flying around, actually get jobs with big bucks?
  • Can Rachel Dolazal and Raven-Symone be really traded?
  • Speaking of Halloween, most religious folks think it’s the devil’s holiday. Do they realize that has connections to All Saint’s Day, that is a religious occasion? And oh, by the way, not to knock on anything or anyone, the devil does not take a holiday. Even if it’s Thanksgiving, Christmas, your baby’s birthday, or 9/11. I’M JUST SAYING!!! Be on watch!
  • And the last question: why are our kids whom are 7 to 11 years old, in Milwaukee are getting robbed for these Hoverboards? And the thing is they probably robbed them for some drug money. Or because they are poor for not having food, and didn’t mean to do it. Think about it.

There will be more to come. Just wait for it toward the end of the year.

Here it is WordPress.

I’m about to comment this latest shooting that recently occurred in South Carolina. Yeah, that one. Im sure many in the country have seen it and read it. Walter Scott, a 50 year old black male was gunned down in the back in his home state by here again, a white police officer. Now before anyone gets on the #BlueLivesMatter tip, the man he shot was a black veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard!  And by the way, if anyone believes that using the words “black and veteran” is a bad thing, trust me its not! I say Black Veterans all the time, and to the hyper sensitive folks: its NOT racist! Black folk that were in Uniform fought hard and served for these United States over the years and decades and even centuries! And to the Michael Savages of the world, EVEN WORLD WAR II! Just a thought.

It seems that its a recurring theme when this happens. All the time when we read about black men or black women who are unarmed getting killed for no reason, and yes when the proverbial word goes out in supporting the officer of innocence, the deceased of the bullet has to suffer. Mainly more, it’s the deceased of the black man and black women has to suffer through their families of losing that father, mother, son or daugther. And extended relative. We see it. We read about it. And many had to talk smack on Facebook about the “ha ha’s” of them being black and getting shot in the street. No matter what they did while they were living. How is it that when America hears of sees a news story about a person’s death, who’s black in their working prime, they had to go to the analyticity of their backgrounds to see what they did, and call them out as a bad individual? Like here in Wisconsin, we lost Tony Robinson, Dontre Hamiltion, Bo Morrison, Ernest Lacy, Derek Williams, Darius Simmons, and many others similiar to Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Tasir Rice, Eric Garner, and countless others? Even those countless others whom were killed by police of Black Women. When Tony Robinson was killed and his story was featured on Instagram, some dude here in the state had to say something stupid like “thank you Madison Police Department for getting the scum off the streets.” REALLY?! And then he committed Armed Robbery PREVIOUSLY way before he was shot, and labled him as a bad person. Oh, wow! Really?!!!

For this Walter Scott, a 50 year old African American Male, who was running away from the North Chaleston Police UNARMED, that was no excuse of the officer who fired the gun and killing this U.S. Armed Forces Veteran! For those who like to say #AllLivesMatter, I’m putting this out here: If all LIVES REALLY MATTERED, why was Walter’s black life cut short again? And to those who say #BlueLivesMatter in regarding the officer, Michael Slager I hate to say this, but they have no idea! NONE! I ask this also, where is the judgment factor? And it was all caught on digital video.

This weekend, the family of Walter Scott is planning and doing the home-going services in South Carolina. One was on Saturday, and there will be one on Sunday. Knowing yes, that the burial might include full military honors in all in his memory. And after that is all over, his struggle, his wrongful death, his vengeance per say will not be forgotten! And if Officer Michael Slager gets off Scot-Free in the shooting of Walter Scott in any manner, don’t be surprised if he makes the list that would be found not guilty. But in this case, in the reaction of it, he is guilty! And what will the #BlueLivesMatter activists say on that?

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2014-The year of the Horse

It’s another year. Another time to run the gambit. Another chance to resolve. Now, let me do the “Traditional Stephen’s Spot” listing of things that I want to see and don’t want ever see again in 2014. Seven to see, and seven I don’t want to see!  So here we go:

For the seven I want to see:

1) I want to see more job opportunities for us Americans. Especially African-Americans who are still struggling to find work. And also since the Affordable Care Act is in effect, get checked!!! No more waiting around to see if your existing condition or physical is non negotiable. Just saying. In regarding work, Milwaukee NEEDS MORE CAREERS  THAN JOBS that can stick! We know that Wisconsin is a Work at Will state meaning that your job could be gone like in 3 weeks or 3 months. Get a Career that can stick on you for 15 – 20 years to help to pay off a Student Loan Debt.

2) I want to see more chance of citizens to get active. Not just on a “seasonal effect.” But everyday. Like getting folks out to vote, perhaps? Or better yet, get your relatives together and do some stuff. Family meetings, trips, outings or many other things you haven’t tried.

3) If you going to use “your” in your sentence: CORRECTLY USE IT! Especially those who use Social Media. I mean many of the spellings need to be screaming to say, you need to go back and relearn how to spell! Jeez!

4) If those on the Hyper Sensitive Side thinks that certain things or objects will bother them, in the year of what they don’t understand: Heed my advice – Please, and I mean this in a sense of understanding: GET YOUR LIFE! I don’t have to like what story or topic that is not pleasing to me, I use the K.I.M. effect. As in Keep It Movin.  Can that be done? I don’t care if it’s Technology, or what was said on Facebook, or what was indicated in the past. Or maybe what could have been. I know that the ghosts of the past might play a role of barriers, but still move on it! Ain’t nobody got time for hyper sensitiveness! I’m just saying! Word to those who are “GHOST FOLLOWERS” if someone on a list is criticizing you or a group of you that is hating you that you don’t show your pics public on platforms like Instagram or Pinterest, I’m just saying: Check them out first, and if you like what they display, then you can like and show! And if not, move forward. That’s right I said it! And furthermore, what is a Ghost Follower, anyway?!! School me on that.

5)  The Black Clubs of Milwaukee must stand up to the intolerance of racial angles from those who think the clubs are for those who shoot up and get drunk. 2013 was one of those years that it was talked about. Let 2014 start a new fire to strike back for the clubs in the brew city.

6) VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!!!!!!  2014 is a Midterm Voting year. If those of us were sick and tired of the “Tea Party Tidalwave” from 2010-2011, get out and vote. Even though that Obama is not on the ballot, but your Aldermans, Mayors, or yet Governors are on the ticket for their jobs. Wisconsin: if you don’t like Scott Walker – GET HIM OUT! Have that “Anybody but Walker” on your mindset when going to the polls this year.  This part is for America only.

7) Come up with new stuff.  I mean that is an ongoing thing. Help out your Alumni groups of forming new ideas. Along with churches. 2014 maybe one of those years that changes could happen upfront. Or take time.  Or get this: If you like your Zodiac side to get acquainted, get involved with a gathering locally. Doesn’t have to be your zodiac season, but it could be fun to have an All Zodiac Day in your city. For example, If the Sagittarius folks in Milwaukee can get together and hook up for an event along with Leos and Aries, call it a Fire Zodiac Sign event! I’m just saying. Think about it! And if you are a type to get the party started for a dance, get the crowd pumped up. Ain’t nothing wrong with it. I know the Grown and Sexy folks do it alot, but these young Thundercats?!!! Y’all better learn! Plus also if a person or persons on Social Media says F—-your Christmas or whatever, take the highroad and say, peace and blessings. It’s not a sign of disrespect. Jeez! Don’t hate on a guy or group just because THEY Had a Christmas Season party and you didn’t. Maybe……you know what: I will be addressing this more. In another blog story.

NOW: The things I don’t want to see in 2014:

8) If the issue of Racism is on the table, don’t assume it’s a thing to say “Oh, I’m colorblind, it’s a post-racial society”. I don’t see no utopias!

9) Only for Milwaukee: We have this reputation of there’s nothing to do. WELL FIND SOMETHING TO DO! OR MAKE SOMETHING TO DO! As long as it keeps you here, it matters. We know Milwaukee has a high rep of being a Segregated City, and folks leave out in droves. But for those of us who are here, fight back!

10) I don’t want to hear officials to call into radio stations to “Tone it down.” If you hear that, they are WAY TOO SENSITIVE! Don’t listen! And I don’t want to see nor hear folks talking down or not be educated about their history. Um….this goes for us black folks.

11) NO MORE CREDIT CHECKS for jobs please!

12) If those who say they will not vote in any election: you just made the laws setup for keeping you out of the halls and more jobs might not be accessible. Hey Milwaukee, are you listening? Don’t do that.

13) No more showing up at job fairs all slouching! I’m putting my clothes stuff here. Come dressed up like you want a job. No jeans, nor haltertops, no fuzzy slippers or pajama bottoms,  no B.S. crap on resumes. I don’t want to hear none of these “companies” ranting about competition. Ranting about the next guy ahead. Ranting about Social Media hand overs. NONE! This goes for the Wisconsin folks.

14) And the thing that I don’t want to see in 2014……….if a well known dance like the running man, or a well known dance that a certain ethnic group stole to make money to market, it’s already been marketed! It’s been marketed through creativity not just to sell and get a youtube rating. Don’t front!

But other than that: Happy New Year! Let’s get it poppin!

And many never heard of it. Wow, really Wisconsin?!!! Unceremoniously it was sold to a Pennsylvania  Company and having this assumption that Milwaukee needed Elvis. Now turned Martini Radio. And since then, I have NOT listened to the new WMCS.
  • Kim Kardashian/Kanye West – Oh, let me go in on Kanye: Dude was tripping. And the Confederate flag thing was tired. Can the spirit of Donda West come down from heaven and strike fear in this boy?!!!! How can a guy like Kanye go from Jesus Walks to New Slaves of Yeezus?!!!!!

  • Ella Washington – Member of the Milwaukee Heritage Chorale
  • Al Culbreath – First black model in Milwaukee

And to those that I know:

Many of  you “West coast” reader folks remember Laura Weiss-Lampert. Probably through her work, and religious affiliation. Personally, I’ve known her since high school in Milwaukee back in the 90’s. She was a 1993 graduate of Milwaukee John Marshall High School and a positive member of the Marshall Band. Laura passed away on May 30th this year after a long battle of Metastatic Cancer. But a year ago, she left a commentary going through her illness she was facing at the time. A life long lesson to learn indeed.

In Milwaukee, an adopted relative of mine passed at 15 years old, Amari Vann. She passed away back in the summer.  I want my younger readers of my blog to pay attention, even if you had to stumble on this blog with or without your parents permission. It concerns the issue of suicide. Many of you probably had relatives or family members, or maybe classmates/friends who probably had passed away of killing themselves for a strange reason. Maybe they were bullied, couldn’t measure up, or maybe something got in their way and caused them to blink and took their lives away. If anyone of you have a problem or a concern about what is going on concerning you, and might trigger something to do a suicide act, TELL SOMEONE! Tell your parents, grandparents, relatives, teachers, ministers or anyone that you know that knows you! This is my “blogger plea” for you. And it needs no app, nor social media program to do it.

Just a reminder: December is Aids Awareness Month.

I’m  assuming that everyone is gearing up for Christmas this week. Even yours truly. However there is an individual that is recently will be getting a lot of coal in her stocking and the reason? Fear of going to Africa, AIDS and due to the ethnicity of White.

Justine Sacco is the name. Her actions – not game.

This story recently this week came out in which she put out a tweet that was highly sensitive for those who are in needy concerns. Caring concerns and most of all, giving back in support. Apparently, Justine had a job working as a PR Executive for IAC. This organization also is in assistance with, The Daily Beast, and many other websites of ownership. Her past job will have to result in use of firing, by basically saying this on Twitter:

Let me say this: #WhiteGirlPLEASE!

Really Justine Sacco?!

Many of us Social Media heads who work in important jobs or organizations, they take their jobs SERIOUSLY. Especially with the companies who deal with AIDS with countries like Africa. We all know also that Africa (medical wise) has the highest percentage of the disease. In 2012, according to the Huffington Post in regarding Africa itself:

* Sub-Saharan Africa remains the region hardest hit by HIV, with 23.5 million HIV-positive people in 2011, about 69 percent of the global total.

* The number of new HIV infections in sub-Saharan Africa has dropped to 1.7 million in 2011 from an estimated 2.6 million in 1997.

* There were 1.2 million AIDS-related deaths in sub-Saharan Africa in 2011, similar to 2010.

* AIDS has killed at least a million people each year in the region since 1998.

* Nearly 6.2 million people were receiving antiretroviral therapy in sub-Saharan Africa in 2011, up from just 100 000 in 2003.

There are countless others. But this is one example of the epidemic that has harnessed the continent.

For this so-called white chick to make a debauchery of an issue to make a joke of it, was in fact way over stupidity. Stuff like that can get you demoted, or even like her – FIRED!  Think about what is concerned here! AIDS!!!!! This ain’t no barbecue! Yes, the folks who use Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, IMO, Instagram, and many other connections of Social Platform, yes we do display or say what’s on our minds. But however there are those who are our bosses and supervisors are looking at this stuff and probably scratching the heads like, “why did we hire this person again? I thought this person or applicant was to be obedient, and be willing not to speak about the company or to set a reputation of the company in a positive manner”. But then again, there are knuckleheads folks of any color that will talk about their bosses or supervisors to say, “My boss is so dumb and stupid. And don’t know nothing about the craft. Always pissing me off!!!!” #needtoquit #mybossneedstobeshot

This is one example, and if the post is set to Public, while everyone looking, that employee will be having a “Come to Jesus” meeting. Or in this case of another example: you might be questioned.

So she got fired. YEP! And make no mistake that many organizations are or will take heed of this example to well, scan the postings online. Oh yeah, I’m DEEPLY against companies in receiving email logins and passwords from applicants to see what they are like  -In a Interview sense. I don’t want the next company coming after me all because of handing over my social media logins and see what were like. I’ll say it here: I’ll login to my account and let them see what I talk about.

What we post or comment, should not be a factor of our jobs, organizations, or many other connections. Have I talked smacked about my current job? Even though I wanted to but I had to decline not to post it.  I know the truth. I’ll keep it to myself until I retire, or write a tell all book.  Or maybe just keep it under wraps. But I know my limits regardless. On this blog, the posts and comments I do here, they don’t reflects my organizations, connections, acquaintances or many other connections that I have personally. I leave them out of this. I might bring up an example, but I have to keep it civil. But however, I am free to say what is on my mind.

So yes, we are entitled to speak or post freely, however it’s best for business that some postings should not be shown. I mean think about it, there are those who might question and comment from afar. Justine’s recent post is just that: Pure ignorance. Maybe when Christmas comes, she’ll get gifts, but expect some early COALS in her stocking!

Time to learn, Citizens!
