July 4th: As in the 4th of July, you know America’s Birthday in all? And I’m sorry to say that many aren’t feeling the goodness in all in which many have came so far in advance of getting that American Dream that many continue to thrive for all this time. And yet, it’s still out there. So for this 244th edition of the Birthday, it’s time to go deep into the thoughts of asking and yes to come clean.

Oh, who am I kidding: With all the mess surroundings Black Lives being murdered, the Pandemic keeping us separate but equal in a sense, the fake tyranny response team is racist, not enough 4th Celebrations except for A Capitol Fourth, Don Lemon and the Empire State Building, Statues and Battle Flags of hate have been destroyed and taken down, Generation Z is on fire, And yet: I’m scratching my head again.

As I mentioned in the blog before: there should be a hashtag with blacks and the fourth. Anyone agree? As an example: #AtFirstTheFourthOfJulyWasntForBlacks

Hold up: how many Americans can name other Blacks that fought in the revolution that were slaved and a freed black?

Yes black folks, you can celebrate the 4th just a little. But it may come at a price. Yes?

It’s a fact: there were some in the founding fathers that wanted slavery to be gone in the Declaration. But it was not completely erased. Care to think why?

Black folks why are we saying, “Pull Up”?

So this pandemic took away our freedom with the masks on? Really?!

Black women, when was the last time you did this for your ancestry tracing….to the American Revolution times?

Women of Color – Daughters of the Revolution 2020

So after that, Black Men what about you? There is a way to track this!

This is the question that really is questionable: they say that respecting other people begins with Public Education. BUT…..it really starts at home like everything else. Agree or disagree?

Sooner or later: Joy Reid of MSNBC will have her own show in the evening timeslot. “The Reid Out” is a coming! Who’s watching when it comes out?

For many who screams out Black Lives Matter as a “Marxist” group, spell it. Can it happen?

Which team in America is the real team that is “America’s Team?” I’m still saying the Packers!

Which Dream Team was so dominate that is still being talked about? Yes I’m talking about the Original Dream Team from 1992. As in USA Basketball.

Which National Anthem is best? Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Marvin Gaye, or some unsung artist that nobody heard of?

With all the despise of American problems, does anyone believe that African-Americans were and are the “UNSUNG Builders” of the country?

What is your “Real American Soundtrack” to you?

Oh, speaking of National Anthems: should “Lift Every Voice and Sing” be added to the listing of songs we sing every 4th of July like during Black History Month, Juneteenth or Dr. King’s Holiday?

With all the despise of American problems, does anyone believe that African-Americans were and are the “UNSUNG Truth Tellers” of the country? While of course many can acknowledge the positive?

So there are those whom have a problem with African Americans wearing black on the 4th. Like in the last blog, I mentioned that there are those whom wear black everyday like the Funeral Directors or Undertakers. Even those like the Gothic culture. So what’s the problem? Heck I was wearing a Old Navy Shirt and jogging pants that was black.

For all the African-Americans: are we “more American” that these individuals? Yeah these individuals that don’t speak for all of Black America?! They are all scared of Black Media that will go deep with the truth!

Black America: are we “More American” than these folks who claim they love the flag, love to preach about MLK, and oh they might not appear as they seem like….vandalizing a Black Lives Matter Mural?

Black America: Are we are “more American” than those who claim that when the phrase “Black Lives Matter” rings out, many had to claim to say “All Lives Matter? Just to deflect and shut down?

Black America: are we are “more American” that those claim that BLM supporters that vandalize buiildings, or set fires to destroy neighborhoods?!

Black America: are we are “More American” than those who claim all this bravado and boldness like defending the country like during WWII? Or any other World War that blacks were involved in since the start of the nation? And even though many never acknowledge the fact that racism, the Double Victory Campaign and other forms of discrimination actually happened, but still should we?!

Black America: Are we and should we be more American to own our businesses, learn to operate Virtual Learning in schools and homes, fundamentality recap our health concerns, and many other vital needs to uplift US?! Even in this COVID-19 Pandemic?

Black America: Are we and SHOULD WE be MORE AMERICAN: when addressing the difference of Black Lives Matter and to really of course addressing the problems in our communities? I know this is an hard question, but at least Amanda Seales had to comment this. Look for it on Instagram. She dropped those jewels!

Class of 2020, are you having fun yet? This is just the beginning. Hold tight for a long bumpy ride.

Check this: how will the 2020 4th of July historians really align themselves with the discussions of the 155th anniversary of Juneteenth Day?

Speaking of the DNC: How are the ideas coming along, Milwaukee? We are about ONE month away from welcoming the Democrats to the Brew City! – Which is will be “virtually” due to the pandemic.

Will all U.S. Cities celebrate the 4th of July next year in 2021?

What is the one place in America that many haven’t gone but need to go?

Seriously asking: is every way the American way? AFTER all the pandemic outbreak laws, folks not wearing masks, not being socially distant, fools who go out with the Gadsden/Rebel Flags think that tyranny is a foot, and the ongoing killings of Unarmed Black Men and Black Women such as George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. Oh, by the way: the killers whom have killed Breonna have NOT BEEN CAUGHT or arrested! Where is the American Way for that? And where was Elijah McClain’s American Way when he was killed last August?!

For many of us looking forward to the Summer Reunions of Alumni and Family, should virtual reunions be better this year? Now is not the time to hate Zoom, WebEx or Facebook Messenger Rooms. Or Microsoft Teams.

Can all the Election Inspectors and Election Commission Groups be more socially distant between August 11th and November 3rd?

Word is that Black Folks should have a “Freedom Week” between June 19th – July 4th. Anyone else agree?

And the last question: Is Generation Z really ready to rock and roll as in ready for the cause? I see them but they have a long way to go. They have a good start of making things happen!

BONUS STATEMENT: Between now and the next 4th, see below!

Well here we are. For the 244th time, it’s America’s birthday. And still many of us have a pandemic on our minds to keep safe. And being aware of the on going struggle of rights and privileges that everyone American should be created equal. We know everytime we see those words should be a constant reminder of every person reading this blog and of course those that use everything else.

However between last year and this year, this Indepenence Day has been a drastic change: COVID-19. Usually I say this that the folks who were here last year celebrating or observing or protesting this holiday are not around this year because many of the thousands have died after suffering this symptom of the Coronavirus. Many of our traditional gatherings at parks, festivals, activities had been either reduced to the social distancing or cancelled for the rest of the year due to the virus. The many folks who previously protsted state capitals in the Don’t Tread On Me Flags, or the Rebel Battle Flags or with Rifles strapped with guns all had this distain that the state houses were promoting “Tyranny” in terms of those wanting to go back to work. That’s not tyranny, that’s being stupid and ignorant. And what’s funny that I mentioned this in the last blog about the words “Tyranny Response Team” on the backs of shirts. Really?

Those men and some women are not a Tyranny Response Team. They are frauds! I know I shouldn’t be saying this on the 4th, but I had to say that it’s apparent that they are misguided about the use of freedom. Oh yes, with out our military and all the guise of implications of our Indedpendcce, we wouldn’t have a 4th of July to celebrate. Nor I dare say a Juneteenth Day. And yes those are #facts!

Let me further say three words on this 244th occasion: Black Lives Matter! That’s right: BLACK LIVES MATTER.

The very same words that our so-called president labeled the organization as a symbol of hate. Other individuals that deflected those words to something like “All Lives Matter”. Let me dive in on this again. I know many had the chance to listen to activists in a response to the message that Frederick Douglass stated years ago called “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” Oh yes, that is the speech that many are afraid to read and hear, but to us in the black community, Douglass revealed in his speech of the concerns that the black slaves never had to say but to feel what they were thinking. Even though they couldn’t stand up for themselves. But what Douglass really told was the hardcore truth that the celebration was fine for most folks, but to the black slave: Not as much. He stated at the time was “this is your celebration, not mine”. He also stated that while you celebrate your liberty in all, he must mourn. Keep in mind this was in 1852 on July 5th. Now 168 years later his Great-Great-Great-Great Grandchildren are reciting that same portion of the speech as he did. And it’s poetic because they need to know what their 4th Grandfather had to feel. BUT…….they also must read the WHOLE SPEECH! Not just that portion. My advice to them would be (and they’ll have to understand) read the whole speech before making a comment on Social Media in a weird way then you know. Of course, if Frederick Douglass were alive today saying that speech, either he would be attacked on Facebook, harassed, or shot dead. All because he was revealing a thought that many had been thinking for so long. But he also wanted the Country to improve in a sense of getting to that promised land of opportunity.

Henceforth: Black Lives Matter!

This is also the occasion that individuals like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others in the country who are black had been killed by the hands of the police, and racism are not here. Which still lingers to this day. The activists of today who scream out Black Lives Matter are the new colonists. They are the new Paul Reveres that ring out warnings. They are the Elizabeth Cady Stantons, and many others of the yesteryear that are ringing out the concerns that many need to be aware of. Or in this case, STAYING WOKE! I know that many of us were on our live feeds today or leading up to the 4th, in regards to wearing black. In terms of Black Lives Matter and many others that wouldn’t wear the traditional colors of Red White and Blue.

So what.

Many know that the folks of Morticians or Goth wear black every day and nobody says nothing. How many folks wear black shoes EVERYDAY? I’m just saying! This is all coming from those who were logging into Facebook in Blackout groups that many tried to get others to join to participate. The whole idea was to be informed about the concerns dealing with black lives, and there is some advertising for black-owned businesses. Me personally, I support black businesses all the time. The ones I know very well from Black Barbershops, Black Daycares, Organizations here in Milwaukee like the Northcott Neighborhood House which was founded by the denomination that I was confirmed 30 years ago in 1990, the United Methodist Church, and my church is black supported! So I know this very well. My thing is like every July 7th, we know that Black Out Day is a time to support black businesses, but it is also a reminder that the support of the black dollar goes on all the time!

Also on the fourth, well there were some that have something to add in the concerns: There was an event and a protest held in Pewaukee and Milwaukee in regarding that Black Americans were excluded from celebrating the 4th of July Celebrations. The idea of the event and acts were to address the concerns of Police Brutality and Racism.

From the transcript via WISN Channel 12: AROUND CUTLER PARK AND THE WAUKESHA PUBLIC LIBRARY. NOT EVERYONE IS CELEBRATING THE FOURTH OF JULY THIS YEAR NATIONALLY, THERE’S BEEN A CALL TO BOYCOTT THE HOLIDAY. PROTESTERS SAY THAT BECAUSE THE BLACK COMMUNITY HAS BEEN EXCLUDED FROM THE FREEDOMS THE HOLIDAY STANDS FOR. NO AMERICANS SHOULD BE CELEBRATING. IN PEWAUKEE, PROTESTERS GATHERED TO CALL FOR AN END TO RACIAL INJUSTICE. THEY MARCHED FROM THE PUBLIC LIBRARY TO PEWAUKEE BEACH, A ALONG CHANTING THE MESSAGE, NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE. ORGANIZERS SAY THE GOAL WAS TO KEEP RACISM AND POLICE BRUTALITY ON THE TOP OF EVERYONE’S MIND. >> A LOT OF TIMES PEOPLE THINK AFRICAN-AMERICANS ARE ANGRY. THEY ARE NOT ANGRY. THERE HAS BEEN POLICE BRUTALITY, BUT LIVES TAKEN DUE TO VIOLENCE, SO WERE TAKING A MOMENT TO STOP AND BREATHE.

BEN: IN MILWAUKEE, ANOTHER GROUP OF PROTESTERS GATHERED FOR A MOMENT OF MOURNING. THE PROGRAM AT THE UNITY GOSPEL HOUSE OF PRAYER INCLUDED POETRY, LIVE MUSIC, AND DANCING. ATTENDEES WERE ENCOURAGED TO REMEMBER THE LIVES LOST RECENTLY DUE TO CORONAVIRUS, VIOLENCE, AND RACIAL INJUSTICE.

https://www.wisn.com/article/people-use-holiday-to-hold-protests/33178206

Also, over the weekend, former NFL Player Colin Kaepernick made his remarks over the holiday by stating “we reject your white supremacy.” He writes on Twitter:

“Black ppl have been dehumanized, brutalized, criminalized + terrorized by America for centuries, & are expected to join your commemoration of ‘independence’, while you enslaved our ancestors. We reject your celebration of white supremacy & look forward to liberation for all.”

No matter if it was on MSN or Yahoo the story was picked up. And just as I was logging off, here come those who are overly patriotic saying in the comments: “Get over it” or “Go back to a history class”, “quit whining”. Part of what he was saying was in fact true. There has been concerns that America terrorized nations without any consent, bombed innocent people, declared in the Declaration that Indians were savages, and oh, escalated the use of Slavery before, during and the after the founding of the nation. And yes, some of our Founding Fathers that signed the legendary document were slave owners. Even the father of this land by the name of George Washington was a SLAVE OWNER! Instead of hiding from this so-called Fake News, just admit the truth. Yes, of course we can celebrate the 4th, and yes there were black men that fought in the Revolution, but still some of them went back into Slavery! And some also maintained their freedom. Let be real about it.

Also: when many were talking about that had not been researching the story of a white supremacist. I’ll bet that many of those who helped shaped the country, no matter what roles have occurred before and after 1776 probably were connected to White Supremacy! You have the state of Mississippi for the first time in over in one century brought down their state flag with the rebel sign on it. I’ll bet many who were Mississippi born felt jubilant in a peaceful manner that the flag that gave them so many nightmares is finally done! Those monuments of those who were “Civil War Heroes” that lost the war, were taken down. Some were actually destroyed.

In speaking of that when NASCAR finally halted the thought of the Confederate Flags at the events and races that was a jubilant moment. Yes, you can thank Bubba Wallace for that in order to see change happen in the sport.

Now let me conclude this with this. The Fourth is a mixed bag for many folks. Let’s just call it what it is. However in the result of this mixed bag of controversy, yes it’s a day to acknowledge the turning point of the country’s Independence. The document proved to be a starting point to change, to inspire and to confront the issues, concerns and accomplishments that the country endured since it’s founding of 1776. Yes, over the course of human events in the last 244 years, America hasn’t “been that great”. And yet America hasn’t been perfect. But in the years preceded this one in a time frame of a pandemic that already silenced most of the Fireworks displays, parades, and other old-school related events the real Americans must stand up. It must stand up to get the ideas of being self-evident that yes all men are created equal. And should be created equal no matter who or what. Those are not just words, they should be a way of life. All day every day! If that’s the case however then explain why there is so much racism in regarding African-American citizens. From jobs to finance to housing. Even Healthcare! If many are saying “Oh Stephen, you should be lucky to be an American Citizen and have the freedoms to do so. Why are you complaining?” Look, I want THIS COUNTRY TO CONFESS the truth, the ideals founded and have that equality thing that many have been preaching about since Day One! And I also have been discriminated, disrespected, overlooked, unappreciated, devalued and nearly forgotten about. Yes, me! No I’m not going into “I Have A Dream” and recite the same sentences that Dr. King said in 1963. Many of us need to read the whole speech regardless! The same with Frederick Douglass’ speech about again, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July.” The one portion of that speech many recited over and over again. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE BEGINNING? And black folks you should know better! I’m just saying.

And the part regarding the “Mericless Indian Savages” in the Declaration, and if those who were wearing those shirts on the 4th in regarding the three words, you may have missed out on the words regarding the complaint regarding KING GEORGE III! Beginning with the word “He!” Now many of you saw on Instagram of the picture of Cree Summer (whom had a acting career on A Different World and the voice of Penny from Inspector Gadget) that displayed the shirt just like this:

Merciless Indian Savages Declaration Of Independence T-shirts

You know what was missing? See below:

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

Question to those who wore this shirt, why wasn’t the whole quote mentioned? There was also a missing thought that it wasn’t addressed to ALL INDIANS! Look at the sentence again: What does it start with again? HE – as in the King of England at the time. The founders I think were describing the dilemmas that were problematic. So when folks said all the Indians, that is taking the quote way out bounds. Hear me out. That’s almost like saying all men are dogs. Or all black men are no good. See the angles here? Or in this case all BLM Members are racists and being funded by George Soros. Or when he was touring the country in the poorest neighborhoods, there were individuals or groups that commented that Bill Cosby had “Harsh words for African-Americans”. Get that mess out of here! And according to the stories, there were Indians that fought with the continental army and for the British crown. You know which folks did that also? Black folks! We got to be real! This is not to drown out the Native Americans here. In which I don’t do at all.

People: it’s time to review everyday of this Declaration. In terms of further understanding the thoughts of why the articles and listings were made and not only just to be one sided. You should be asking why they were one sided at first. I should start by saying #AtFirsttheFourthOfJuly wasn’t a holiday for black folks. That is a fact. And yes, you have many saying the same thing, probably on your timelines on Facebook of asking why. But at the same time, we must not forget that the longevity of the struggle still continues! And also there were black men that fought on the side of the continental during the revolution. If you think that Crispus Attucks was the only one that fought and died in that timeframe, guess what? He was not the only one! There were countless others that served like James Armistead, who was a spy on for the Continental Army under George Washington that helped the Americans. Another was Peter Salem, as well as Salem Poor at the Battle at Bunker Hill. Even the 1st Rhode Island Regiment also fought. Why aren’t these names being mentioned like Attucks? In addition to the struggle, that also is an everyday reminder that must hold dear to these three words: Our Sacred Honor.

So yes, as the nation turns the page, or levels up at 244, and it’s ok to celebrate for a moment. But when the next day happens, its back to work.

It’s back to fight White Supremacy.

It’s back to help Homeless Veterans

It’s back to educating our children.

It’s back to realize that Virtual Learning does count like the Traditional Classrooms.

It’s back to supporting Black Lives Matter, in a sense to find Breonna Taylor’s killers.

It’s back to fight unemployment, health issues of COVID-19.

It’s back to defuse the wickedness of Backing the Badge and Blue Lives Matter.

It’s back to stop the abuse of Police Brutality, stand against racism as well as discrimination based of age, religion, gender, education, and experience on the job.

It’s back to fight for the Church in a sense of fighting depression, hunger, finance problems racially, and it’s back fighting the same “Colonial Causes” that were and are in a long working progress. Which includes VOTING!

This year marks 150 years that African-American Men received the right to vote under Amendment 15. Also it’s been 155 years since the Amendment 15 which declared slaves free, hence brought Amendment 13 in April of 1864, thus making it plain in January of 1865 leading to June 19th.

And the beat, in fact goes on.

Before the annual tribute to fathers in all begins, this blog is for all the fathers young and old. Happy Father’s Day to the men who are Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, Great Uncles, Great Grandfathers, StepFathers, God-Fathers, and many other fathers on the planet that deals daily with being a FATHER ALL DAY EVERY DAY! Oh yes, of course, this is the part where many go hard and stupid on the men who don’t step up and raise their kids as much as the women. Look here: there are real daddies out there that DO and I mean DO HANDLE THEIR BUSINESS! There is no question in that. Also for many like me, another father’s day will be hard because my father is deceased for three years. And yet the memories will never die in vain. So even though I’m new to this being without my Dad, the hard thought of him never dies out. And also for those who sympathize and your Dad is still living and you somewhat understand that you really don’t know the feeling until YOU go through the experience.

CALLOUT: And also for all the women who tell the single men without kids Happy Father’s Day, STOP!!! You know darn well not every man is a FATHER! If you say it, we’ll tell you: “I’m not a father.” Don’t tell us Happy Father’s Day because we don’t earn it until it becomes a hard job for us to try and accept. Especially those of us whom are single, unmarried, no kids of our own and just living the single life that many feel are bad and miserable.  Be careful, ladies. Don’t snag us like that. Of course, you can wait until November 19th for International Men’s Day. Or some honorable thing of celebrating Men in the church or community that don’t have kids.

For all the workers of the world, do you realize that it’s time to go back to the office?

Men, since this is a month for our health, you have been thanking the nurses and doctors during the pandemic, do you think it’s time to go back to one? Men’s Health Month is still an objective.

For all the haters that don’t like Virtual Graduations: the students did graduate. What are you hating on?

Hear me out when I say Distance Education rules! Now what?

Was it just me, or Summer 2020 just came in real quick?

If many are not willing to wait, do the questions of still be being “socially distant” mean anything to any?

June is also Pride Month. How you’re doing LGBT folks?

June is also Black Music Month. Be honest. Who still benefits from Black Music since forever? Even if you hate it!

Word is that the 2020 BET Awards might go simulcasting. Even to the non cable networks. And Viacom will do this, how?

For those whom are black and woke: this might be a hard question to ask but in regarding the 4th and many of us hate it because of it’s ties to slavery. Yes it’s true for those whom are so Red, White and Blue that the period whom

After all the protests and the demands of defunding the police so far, are the communities ready to listen to black Americans?

Aunt Jemima, Cream of Wheat, and maybe Mrs. Buttlesworth’s are on the verge of retirement due to the ongoing views of the products being tied to segregation or this case, White Supremacy. Any questions?

Dealing with coronavirus and all the folks don’t care about the corona, what did your doctor really say, again?

Oh, for all you NASCAR fans: why are you mad about the confederate flag? Oh wait a minute, that’s right it’s racist! Nevermind.

Another question: If you have graduated so far to enjoy the smelling of the roses of your achievement, congratulations. Now you realize that you have to give back to your Alma Mater, right? And if your Alma Mater screws up with Alumni events planned: HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE! #AlumniStatus

Speaking of Black Music (after all, June is Black Music Month again) which Music in Black History that many know so well that it will not die through the depths of time?

CALLOUT: How can Black Men and Black Women be woke and hate on each other for petty stuff? Yes, this does happen!

Ok, this I need to know: Which artist is really looking forward to performing for the 2020 BET Awards?

For baseball: there is an opening pitcher and a closing pitcher. Regarding Juneteenth Day 2020, closing pitch. The 4th: opening pitch. Why do you ask?

For all of my Pride Readers: that’s the LGBT folks. Is your Pride Month good this year so far?

This might be asked: will many or some of the areas of Milwaukee have Fireworks? For the 4th of July?

Oh yes, how will us Milwaukeeans will be getting around without Summerfest this year?

Which or many of us Men have on the Light Blue for Men’s Health Month?

The NBA and rumored that MLB might start up again. Will the outlook of competition be less or more? And a reminder: there is a pandemic going on.

The Last Ride was a hit. I’m glad that the Undertaker (aka Mark Calaway) told his story. I like many can understand that he wanted to protect the Deadman character over the years behind the curtain. And I had no idea that he had to go through those surgeries and refreshed wrestling skills to maintain the game. Of course, The Undertaker is already a household name for 30 years, but many a few remember him back as Mean Mark Callous in WCW. He was an original “Paul Heyman Guy”. And similar to many wrestlers that were good, not so marketable; it was a foul ball of bad business. However like many also, it wasn’t all the case against Undertaker. It was the promoters. Let’s be honest, the promoters were indeed wrong but had to appreciate. Overall, the Last Ride was lived up to the hype. Thoughts?

And now: A moment for the Fathers.

For all the Dads that are just now coming out, what will be your reaction for your OFFICIAL first Father’s Day?

For all the Dads that are still around kicking knowledge, what is your best advice for the new Dads coming up?

In Memoriam: For those of us who miss our Dads. This is hard as we know. How do we go through the storm yet again that our Dad’s memories will not die? No matter when and where? May all of our deceased fathers rest in power for eternity and in peace. Mine also.

What is up with this attitude that when Father’s Day comes around, females get an attitude? Oh especially around this time of year?

Has #GirlsDad been always a norm?

When church comes on Sunday, what will be the estimated percentage of Men coming for Father’s Day? It ain’t big for many!

How many Men have actually wore Light Blue for Men’s Health Month on Father’s Day like the MLB?

After this Father’s Day is over, Men you do realize that International Men’s Day is about 5 Months away after June 19th? For those of us whom are not fathers with no kids, let’s celebrate that! No matter what we do or say. I say as an idea, promote International Men’s Day ON Father’s Day too!

Should all Churches and Community Groups have an All Men’s Day? At least for men whom are not fathers in all?  Unsung, perhaps?

Ok, this needs to be asked: what kind of a man is an “Unofficial” Father? or an “Unofficial Dad?” You heard of Honorary Degrees that might be fake. Just saying.

Another need to be asked: no disrespect to Father’s Day or Mother’s Day, but why we have slept on Children’s Day? Which is every second Sunday in June?! Look it up. And don’t say everyday is a Children’s Day.

And………the final question of Father’s Day 2020: what will the Father’s take from this year into the first Decade of the 2020’s? That’s is even worth celebrating for the next generation to ponder in all.

For all the Dads that read my blog, ENJOY YOUR Father’s Day. Be blessed at it. Don’t let none of the disruptive folks hate the thought you got this day. If your Dad is still around kicking knowledge, hold him close! You never know when the day or the hour when it might be his last.

Juneteenth Day Matters!

Today is a legit day to celebrate an occasion that actually mattered. No, it’s not the 4th of July as we know very well. We’re talking about Juneteenth Day. A day that many don’t know about but to quote Kevin Hart: “You gon’ learn today!” For the 155th time, America is recognizing a forgotten Independence Day that almost had right previously in the late 1770’s. Yes we all know that originally, Independence Day was started in 1776 in which that yes and many will hear that black people were still slaves. They were in bondage. No rights. Yes, Master. No Master. We know. Frankly, there was a lot of that and a few black patriots at the time fought in the Revolution, attempted to seek their freedom and most went back into slavery. However, it seems that 4th of July was the mainstay of celebrating the Independence of America. Again, you will know this next month. But again, this day of the 19th is a CLOSER! Think of this: July 4th is the opening pitch to freedom. An opening pitch to eliminate tyranny, oppression, and persecution. Even though it should have been stopped in that particular year, many in the country who benefited and owned slaves actually didn’t want that to end. Yes, let’s call it what it was, slavery and commodity equals money. Even though the British rule was already divorced, but the inner struggle of slavery was a long shot to be eliminated. It took 89 years which in baseball is about 16,198 games. But on the first to last game, which was January 1st, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation to decide that black slaves would be declared free. 2 years later in 1865, after the assassination of Lincoln, the news to Galveston, Texas from General Grainger that the slaves would be now and forever free. This was known as “General Order Number 3.” This is why I say Juneteenth is the CLOSER, or the closing pitch that ended the dreaded streak. That ended the game that many fought for so long to eliminate. This is why I also say that “Juneteenth Day Matters Like The 4th!”

For many of you who are not black, and just wanting to know what this is, and we know many of you will be going all decked out Red, White, and Blue next month. Get this: if you know the 4th, get to know what Juneteenth Day is about. Get to know why this day matters. And many of you are in education, working for the curriculum. I challenge you to put Juneteenth Day further ON THE MAP! I challenge all of those who are black educators: put this day of June 19th ON THE MAP for the curriculum. It is necessary because this is part of the historical events that Americans need to know and summarize. After all, do many people still say that “Black history is American History?” Remember that quote that I hated since Black History Month? Yeah well, since Juneteenth Day is an American Occasion, why not add this to the American History that folks again, need to know! And Black History is STILL World History!

Unlike many Juneteenth Day Celebrations in the country, there were not many marches. And social distancing was in effect due to the coronavirus. In spite of that, Juneteenth Day went on regardless. There were marches, shutting the streets down, murals were and are still being painted on to streets that were declared “sacred ground.” Speeches were made to declare slavery was dead but the struggle goes on. Even after the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Aubrey, Breonna Taylor and countless others that died in the hands of the police. And yet, the Juneteenth Day flags were raised in cities that were used for the first time. EVER. Milwaukee, my homecity that has celebrated Juneteenth longer in the north, raised the new flag outside of the Zeidler Municipal Building. This is the same building named after one of Milwaukee’s Mayors, and a centralplex for the April Voting Drives. Not only that , but Madison also held its Juneteenth Day Flag raising on the State Capitol signifying the 155th occasion. And also, our Milwaukee County Courthouse also raised the new Juneteenth Banner for the special day. All areas of Milwaukee and Madison had the historical moments documented and summarized!

Now let me go left field on these non-black companies and advertisers that are now just discovering Juneteenth Day. Even the Networks like ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC are now just discovering this soon-to-be Independence Day. And our so-called president claimed to “made Juneteenth famous”. Let’s cut the Bull….right now:

First of all: Juneteenth Day was made famous by those who were set free from slavery.

Juneteenth Day was made famous who later marched and protested who were mostly black and fought for Civil Rights that we read about over and over again and making sure that the stories still remain in tact for another era of citizens.

Juneteenth Day was made famous by many who still recognize our concerns, our voices, and our black god-given rights to remain active and ALIVE to let those know that our black rights, and lives still matter! Even at a time when many black men are not as active as black women when it comes to concerns in the community. Even though the black men of TODAY are not as active as the forefathers, but they are out there. And they are active and educating the men of now. Of course, the men of now will do their own thing in the future but guidance must be placed on the table!

If many of the folks who are just now discovering Juneteenth, where have they been?! Black folks have been talking about this for YEARS! This is why the white folks and those who work in non-black establishments must listen to every single black citizen either at work or the house. Not just say, “here you go…………” NO! the key words are to “listen to the black folks!” Let us continue to have our turn to say what we want and need to say. Regardless of our stance on employment, health, finance, spiritual, mental, educational physical and countless others that we discuss that we may agree and disagree, but hear us out! If we don’t see a chair at your table, we have chairs at home to bring. Long ago, we didn’t have those rights as we do now. And that struggle has been going on since the start of loading the boats!

And to have our so-called president to have his “rally” on Juneteenth in a town like Tulsa, Oklahoma that had a history of Black Wall Street being destroyed by racist whites in 1921, was a slap in the face. 99 years this month. Although it was moved to June 20th, which is the first day of the summer solstice. Wow. However even though it’s a different time and a different era, but the struggle again still continues.

So yes, Juneteenth Day 2020 is in the books. However, in the recent “support” of Juneteenth must continue to go on. Like those sales of oil changes to get $17.76 off. Where are the $18.65 discounts? Where are those that need to surface? Yes, I know as a black man that Juneteenth Day MUST be carefully guarded not to be fumbled with a commercialized sense of being jaded. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, look at all those sales that are geared towards holidays: New Years, Valentines, Easter, St. Patrick’s Day, Memorial Day, the 4th, Labor Day, Halloween, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and yes Christmas. I’m not saying Juneteenth Day should be marketable. But being careful HOW Juneteenth Day should be marketed that it shouldn’t be sold in a negative sense. That is the main point of all of this. Same as Target marketing Black History Month. Which it has. But I hope that those that market Black History or Juneteenth Day should donate some of those sales to most needed black-owned businesses, and especially to the schools. I’ll give four letters: HBCU. That’s the Historical Black Colleges and Universities. Don’t just donate to the causes on these occasions, do them ALL YEAR LONG! And I hope that since the companies are “supporting black workers” and donating all the causes, for all of you big companies from Facebook to U.S. Bank, Harley-Davidson, John Deere, Tesla, Taco Bell (yeah I’m putting them on the list after firing the worker who had on a Black Lives Matter Mask) Best Buy, Walmart, news media, technological companies, health organizations, employment agencies, the federal government, state government, city government, county government and anywhere that they claim or stake their claim in the support of black workers: I got four words for you: step your game up! Prove to many that you back up your African-American employees. No matter what their positions are. Why you ask? simply put, their black lives DO matter. And they should matter just like everyone else.

So yes, we made it to another year of Juneteenth. And its very legit like the 4th. But after this day is over: The struggle continues!

Preface: you may have seen this on your news feed this morning. Or in the last few days.

So what has protesting accomplished?

👉🏾Within 10 days of sustained protests:
Minneapolis bans use of choke holds.

👉🏾Charges are upgraded against Officer Chauvin, and his accomplices are arrested and charged.

👉🏾Dallas adopts a “duty to intervene” rule that requires officers to stop other cops who are engaging in inappropriate use of force.

👉🏾New Jersey’s attorney general said the state will update its use-of-force guidelines for the first time in two decades.

👉🏾In Maryland, a bipartisan work group of state lawmakers announced a police reform work group.

👉🏾Los Angeles City Council introduces motion to reduce LAPD’s $1.8 billion operating budget.

👉🏾MBTA in Boston agrees to stop using public buses to transport police officers to protests.

👉🏾Police brutality captured on cameras leads to near-immediate suspensions and firings of officers in several cities (i.e., Buffalo, Ft. Lauderdale).

👉🏾Monuments celebrating confederates are removed in cities in Virginia, Alabama, and other states.

👉🏾Street in front of the White House is renamed “Black Lives Matter Plaza.”
Military forces begin to withdraw from D.C.

Then, there’s all the other stuff that’s hard to measure:

💓The really difficult public and private conversations that are happening about race and privilege.

💓The realizations some white people are coming to about racism and the role of policing in this country.

💓The self-reflection.

💓The internal battles exploding within organizations over issues that have been simmering or ignored for a long time. Some organizations will end as a result, others will be forever changed or replaced with something stronger and fairer.

Globally:

🌎 Protests against racial inequality sparked by the police killing of George Floyd are taking place all over the world.

🌎 Rallies and memorials have been held in cities across Europe, as well as in Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand.

🌎 As the US contends with its second week of protests, issues of racism, police brutality, and oppression have been brought to light across the globe.

🌎 People all over the world understand that their own fights for human rights, for equality and fairness, will become so much more difficult to win if we are going to lose America as the place where ‘I have a dream’ is a real and universal political program,” Wolfgang Ischinger, a former German ambassador to the US, told the New Yorker.

🌎 In France, protesters marched holding signs that said “I can’t breathe” to signify both the words of Floyd, and the last words of Adama Traoré, a 24-year-old black man who was subdued by police officers and gasped the sentence before he died outside Paris in 2016.

🌎 Cities across Europe have come together after the death of George Floyd:

✊🏽 In Amsterdam, an estimated 10,000 people filled the Dam square on Monday, holding signs and shouting popular chants like “Black lives matter,” and “No justice, no peace.”

✊🏽 In Germany, people gathered in multiple locations throughout Berlin to demand justice for Floyd and fight against police brutality.

✊🏾 A mural dedicated to Floyd was also spray-painted on a stretch of wall in Berlin that once divided the German capital during the Cold War.

✊🏿 In Ireland, protesters held a peaceful demonstration outside of Belfast City Hall, and others gathered outside of the US embassy in Dublin.

✊🏿In Italy, protesters gathered and marched with signs that said “Stop killing black people,” “Say his name,” and “We will not be silent.”

✊🏾 In Spain, people gathered to march and hold up signs throughout Barcelona and Madrid.

✊🏾 In Athens, Greece, protesters took to the streets to collectively hold up a sign that read “I can’t breathe.”

✊🏾 In Brussels, protesters were seen sitting in a peaceful demonstration in front of an opera house in the center of the city.

✊🏾In Denmark, protesters were heard chanting “No justice, no peace!” throughout the streets of Copenhagen, while others gathered outside the US embassy.

✊🏾 In Canada, protesters were also grieving for Regis Korchinski-Paquet, a 29-year-old black woman who died on Wednesday after falling from her balcony during a police investigation at her building.

✊🏾 And in New Zealand, roughly 2,000 people marched to the US embassy in Auckland, chanting and carrying signs demanding justice.

💐 Memorials have been built for Floyd around the world, too. In Mexico City, portraits of him were hung outside the US embassy with roses, candles, and signs.

💐 In Poland, candles and flowers were laid out next to photos of Floyd outside the US consulate.

💐 And in Syria, two artists created a mural depicting Floyd in the northwestern town of Binnish, “on a wall destroyed by military planes.”

Before the assassination of George Floyd some of you were able to say whatever the hell you wanted and the world didn’t say anything to you…

THERE HAS BEEN A SHIFT, AN AWAKENING…MANY OF YOU ARE BEING EXPOSED FOR WHO YOU REALLY ARE. #readthatagain

Don’t wake up tomorrow on the wrong side of this issue. Its not to late to SAY,

“maybe I need to look at this from a different perspective.

Maybe I don’t know what its like to be Black in America…

Maybe, just maybe, I have been taught wrong.”

There is still so much work to be done. It’s been a really dark, raw week. This could still end badly. But all we can do is keep doing the work.

Keep protesting.

WE ARE NOT TRYING TO START A RACE WAR; WE ARE PROTESTING TO END IT,
PEACEFULLY.

How beautiful is that?

ALL LIVES CANNOT MATTER UNTIL YOU INCLUDE BLACK LIVES.

YOU CANNOT SAY ‘ALL LIVES MATTER’ WHEN YOU DO NOTHING TO STOP SYSTEMIC RACISM & POLICE BRUTALITY.

YOU CANNOT SAY ‘ALL LIVES MATTER’ WHEN BLACK PEOPLE ARE DYING AND ALL YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT IS THE LOOTING.

YOU CANNOT SAY ‘ALL LIVES MATTER’ WHEN YOU ALLOW CHILDREN TO BE CAGED, VETERANS TO GO HOMELESS, AND POOR FAMILIES TO GO HUNGRY & LOSE THEIR HEALTH INSURANCE.

DO ALL LIVES MATTER? YES. BUT RIGHT NOW, ONLY BLACK LIVES ARE BEING TARGETED, JAILED, AND KILLED EN MASSE- SO THAT’S WHO WE’RE FOCUSING ON.

🖤🖤🖤BLACK LIVES MATTER🖤🖤🖤

IF YOU CAN’T SEE THIS, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.

Copy & paste

Postface: The Struggle INDEED Continues! Now we don’t know who wrote this piece, but whom ever was the writer of this statement will be revealed in the future. But in the mean time: #BLACKLIVESMATTER!

Here it is: it’s the post edition of the Spot and yet we are supposed to be in the post quarantine mode. Apparently, not. If one of the many have gotten their wish about “Opening America” while getting increased distance of anti-social distancing, anti physical distancing, not wearing masks, no gloves on, not taking the advice of these doctors and scientists, still blaming the democrats of taking always folks freedoms and liberties, 45 acting stupid as usual, GOP in Wisconsin are messing up, Michigan under scrutiny because a black lawmaker went to work with armed black men, plus the hunt against Black Men are still at large, and oh many morons still say the sacreglious phrase of “Happy Memorial Day” WHICH IS NOT! Allow me to scratch my head again.

Hold up: Des Moines, Iowa – WHAT IN THE HAWKEYES LOSING TO THE BADGERS HEARTLAND TROPHY ARE YOU DOING?!

Roland Martin Unfiltered: Black Man beaten in Race Attack in Iowa.

So we just found out about the “gaffe” that Joe Biden said in regards to those whom are Black Conservatives and in his words: “You Aint Black!” Well you know what, if the So-Called woke black folks whom back 45 is actually a thing well how would you explain what 45 did in terms of taking down a portrait of Barack Obama in the White House BREAKING A TRADITION that goes back 40 years?!

So it seems that our so-called President is now labeling Churches as “essential.” REALLY? And now he wants to governors of the country to open them up to bring the normalcy back together. If they don’t do it, he will. IN WHICH HE CAN’T! What will this prove? And by the way, many churches are saying no regardless!

It seems that Republicans want the citizens to rush back for more stuff all trying to get the country reopened. Wait, what has stopped them before with all the harsh disagreements?

Black folks, should Sam’s Club be boycotted after this assault on a 68 year old woman and her son at 43 years old? And her son is MY AGE!

Roland Martin Unfiltered: Police Brutality on Woman and her son in Sam’s Club.

So educators, and those whom are home schooling: How’s that Virtual Education coming along? You all need balance!

In Milwaukee, there was an officer that is being charged with a crime. For all of my Milwaukee folks who didn’t back Tom Barrett: would you back him up for this officer to be fired?

So 45 believes that voting by mail is not right, eh? What about the Poll Workers who operate the sites? You know they have to vote ahead of time!

Every Church MUST LEARN, how to do Zoom, WebEx, Tithe Online, Coordinate Meetings onilne or Audio Phone Conference just to keep up and also WORSHIP! Why is that so hard? Oh wait not everyone is “technically inclined.”

Does it feel real good to acknowledge your anniversary on the actual day of your Graduation Ceremony? Me: Tech School – 20 years. High School next month: 25.

Speaking of Grad Anniversaries: For the reunion buffs, if your Class Reunion would be cancelled for another 5 years or so due to the Coronavirus, you know you can do Zoom Video Conferencing or Facebook Messenger Rooms right?

Are folks still updating their resumes and portfolios and SKILLS to the resumes?

What jams from 1995 are folks listening to in 2020 with all this Quarantine Aftermath gripping us with pain and pestilence?

It’s good to see that the Class of 2020 is getting their due during the virus outbreak. Regardless of the outcome, they should be celebrated. Right? I mean we see it online, does that mean something?

Again: this needs to be asked and harshly questioned: when it comes to Memorial Day, why our younger folks are saying “Happy Memorial Day” like everyone is clueless? DUH! Memorial Day is not for the cheering to be happy, it’s for the deceased who lost their lives in the World Wars and it’s a day of remembrance! Y’all can stop this mess! Should those ask the dumb question need to be punched in the throat?

About 25 years ago, when folks used to ask dumb questions, it usually resounds when it’s not really a dumb question. (No question is a dumb question) My question can it be revived differently?

You need to know that BLACK PEOPLE started Memorial Day. Right? May 1st, 1865.

Memorial Day 2020 will be different because usually Baseball would be on and cracking. But what will take place of the National Pastime?

For all the movies and shows that came out in 1990, which reunion show or movie was the best one so far?

For all the music that came out in 1990 (way before internet radio) who and what was cracking the most that will make most artist today to run for the hills and hide?

CALLOUT: Generation X, are we still winning with our ways that many before us thought it was deemed a waste? Even during the pandemic? Yeah, way before you Millennials and Generation Z folks.

For the men and women of the Armed Forces during the Pandemic, you good?

For the men and women of the Medical Game during this Pandemic, you good?

For the families of the Men and Women who lost a loved one during war, or a Veteran that kept telling his or her stories over and over again that passed on to the other side, are we good? We need to be. Hard but still.

When The Last Dance appeared 10 times for each part, did that really shocked those that Jordan was that mean dude that many couldn’t stand? But they liked him anyway?

Oh this needed to be said: in The Last Dance, Michael Jordan kind of “heckled” some Packers fans in 1998 after they lost the Super Bowl on the plane. He was like: “Hey Cheeseheads, how about those BRONCOS?!” Oh, yeah everyone hated the Pack. Someone should tell Michael not to come from Green Bay! At the time, the Packers were the 12 Time NFL Champions. 12 Times! And Jordan was on his 5th. Don’t come for Green Bay! Why you asked? And keep reminding the Chicago Bears that they haven’t won anything big since Ronald Reagan was President. One time Superbowl Champions my butt! Yeah, tell that story!

Oh let me see, when it comes to white privilage, there’s always this:

Roland Martin Unfiltered: Woman Accosts Black Cop

Does that count as being bigoted or working the fake “Slave Patrol” that is going on? Especially hunting down black men/women?

Just In: More White Privilege. Press Play:

Roland Martin Unfiltered: Central Park Karen gets FIRED!

For all you folks that accuse African-Americans threating white women that this one, expect a termination. Should that be enforced in all companies? And your face is in public.

JUST IN TODAY: This is so UNACCEPTABLE! For all those who love the cops, flagging the Blue Lives Matter Mantra of backing the cops, and seeing this hellacious act of police brutality over in Minnesota, what and where is YOUR REACTION when you see this? Your voices are silent and scared and just cowardly! This was a black male, George Floyd was arrested and one of the cops had his knee on his neck FACE DOWN! George Floyd had 8 minutes of his 46 years of life to live and died at the scene. All this since Memorial Day. By the way this will be discussed in the My Take blog coming up.

The Telegraph – George Floyd Death Scene, 2020. ****WARNING: GRAPHIC FOOTAGE****

This may be off topic, but there are talks and ideas that should be that blacks should take up arms. As in Guns, as in protection. There is a organization, NAAGA which stands for, National African American Gun Association. And it is growing! NRA is failing at the seams. After not acknowledging Philando Castile, Ahmaud Aubery, and most recently, Kenneth Walker. Should all blacks carry arms like the white counterparts which happens all the time? And oh should blacks embrace the 2nd Amendment and make it their own?

PLUS: Where is Wisconsin (especially Black Wisconsin) is in this?!

*Sidenote from the NAAGA Chapters Site:

What the heck is this? TYRANNY RESPONSE TEAM?!

And the last question before we once again pay homage to our fallen military and veterans: Since when did Gov. Tony Evers had this thing regarding being like Hitler? That so-called White Privilege is heating up like a bully. You know who are the real Hitlers: Look at Robin Vos and Scott Fitzgerald.

Never forget the fallen!

So here we are once again. Mother’s Day 2020. For all the mothers still alive and teaching, Happy Mother’s Day to all of you. I hope that many of you will enjoy your day that is specialized with customized opportunities to be with your families and friends. And to many of us also, from all the round the clock of the Coronavirus, another rack of lies of the so-called president, Stay at Home Orders being unfairly challenged, stimulus checks running late: I’m scratching my head again.

So there are those whom have names of “Karens” that are being added to “Beckys” and “Nancys”. Oh, they know right?

For all those that work at Walmart, Target, in all you better be extra careful when you address the 6 ft rule. Someone might take it the wrong way and don’t act stupid to a customer. What would happen IF THEY ADDRESS YOUR MANAGER? Don’t be surprised.

Which is better: Working from home, or Working at the job on the job?

Which is better: acting like a mother, or being a mother?

Man…..2020 is already taking folks left and right like 2012. Why the deaths of Andre Harrell, Little Richard and now Betty Wright?

This needs to be asked AGAIN: why there are those 35 years old and under that don’t want to volunteer?

Do Progressive Radio stations really want black folks, or just their folks?

Is AEW Wrestling actually bringing the pain to the WWE weekly?

For all those asking and wondering AGAIN, what is the value of being in the group that is Woke and Conscious? Somebody needs answers!

Since the WWE had fanless shows out, many blamed them for not having fans. Then AEW, and UFC also had fanless events and shows. Will the MLB, NBA or other sports have fanless stuff while the Coronavirus passes?

In Michigan, their State Rep, Sarah Anthony was escorted to her office with armed Black Men. Wait hold the phone, black folks how many times we talked about how Black Men need to protect Black Women on the internet and in our families, and other groups? Now I need to clarify that black men are not going to hear about how they can protect themselves and then protect the Black Queens in all. The women will not say this. CALLOUT: Women, when was the last time you told your sons, cousins, nephews, grandsons, great grandsons, brothers in all that you(in your words) have to protect me? They need to learn how to defend themselves first even though they have to protect you!

Hold up, this needs to be extra clarified: Whenever we see all these foolish protesters with the rifles, the rebel flags and the Don’t Tread On Me Flags talking about reopen this state or reopen that state. For all you morons making a scene outside of that White Privilege, REALLY? You all are crying and pissed just because you want to governors to “Go Back To Normal” as usual. Well, I got news for you, we don’t know that! We don’t know if and when we will or would go back to normal. So technically if we are to open the state, you all ready know that many might DIE right? There are those of you might say, “Oh we are very aware about those dying in all….” Really? If you are really that concerned about those whom are on the illness, why are you fools are making this a political issue!? This is a HEALTH AND WELLNESS CONCERN! Wake up!

The month of May is two things: Military Appreciation Month and also, Mental Health Awareness Month. You know what it is. Why is it important to recognize them both you asked? READ THE HISTORY!

Hold Up, YET AGAIN: So you got this Shelly Luther didn’t close her shop in Dallas Texas because she defied a Executive Stay Home given by the state and city. Then by the judge, she was given 7 days of jail. After that, there was Go Fund Me page for the shop, and it was raised $500,000. A raise in….White Privilege! So opening a shop is worth than saving lives? This is was nothing more than insane thoughts. Ain’t it something? And oh, what would happen if a black woman or a black man opened a Barbershop or a Beauty Salon during the pandemic? Take a while guess.

If Virtual Learning is not that liked or criticized by those who are just now learning it, why complain? And if anyone knows this is me going through UW-Stout. By the date comes on May 13th: 14 years. And oh I survived it!

30 years ago in 1990, Milwaukee had a snow storm that was on May 10th. Did we almost had a repeat?

Last year, there were 20 Democrats for the determination to become the nominee for the General Election. Now since Joe Biden is the last man standing, will he go through

MTV needs more dance shows. Most recently they have brought back Club MTV after 30 years being on the shelf. And to ask, where’s Downtown Julie Brown?

Oh, fair question: how many of you have updated your resumes and portfolios?

Again people: I need to ask though, if you are looking for a job in all in your hometown, then all of a sudden you get calls from out of state that the jobs are open in a temporary basis. My question is: why are the LOCAL COMPANIES not calling or contacting the folks about the jobs in the community?! Very corny.

For the Class of 2020: Many of us are so sorry that you’ll not do the traditional way of walking with your classes. W can still say congrats. However, what about doing it virtually or has that happened?

Should CareerBuilder have an option to not have a choice of not making their customers choosing Temp Jobs?! That’s right I said it!

Since DJ D-Nice showed up on Instagram with the jams. It seems that every other DJ since him has done this on Facebook, Periscope, Twitch, Live TV, and other related platforms after him. Hold up: has this been done before, almost?

Introverts: My fellow Innies, are we winning?

For those whom miss our Barbershops, Beauty Salons, Nail Techs, and other needy stuff, why are we rushing to get back?

How does it feel to turn your homes into makeshift workplaces and dining rooms into makeshift altars for Church?

Speaking of Churches being quarantined: Press Play when you’re ready.

Church folks: does this sound familiar when working with the mute button? Don’t say its the devil, neither! Say Amen, people.

Now: this is for all the mothers:

For all the New School Mothers – Happy Mother’s Day.

EXTRA: For all the mothers whom are on the front line during this pandemic, and missing their children and husbands, and missing the free time, family time, and had to Zoom, or FaceTime their folks: yes you get an ultra Happy Mother’s Day!

And for all the mothers whom don’t have children. Yes, not every woman is a mother! Those whom are like mothers, and whom are just there as needed to be called upon. Yes, they too deserve a Mother’s Day also. EVEN THOUGH THEY AREN’T MOTHERS!

And to the mothers that look at my blog all the time or some of the time: yes you too, deserve a Mother’s Day. Even to all the Introverted Mothers and Dark Horse Mothers that keep the peace in times of conflict and telling the truth! And still working.

So to the Momz, Mothers, Mommies, Mami’s, Madres, Mommas, Mother Dears, Big mamas, grannies, aunties, great aunts, Godmothers, Matriarchs, and the New Big Mamas that need transitional ideas to move forward, and many other mothers I can’t even think about: yes this is your Mother’s Day. Enjoy it!

Oh, and PS: Dad’s count too in a sense.

With Black History Month 2020 in full swing in all, of course, it’s a time to represent and summarize our black achievements and stories to get things going again. Yes, it’s also a time to celebrate our black folks EVERYWHERE in which already had the recognition and willing to get a recognition shoutout. But yet, of course, you’ll find many that remind us that we have to summarize our people every day besides the second month of the year, in which partially many of us don’t. Yeah I said it. But then again, in the full swing of the Presidential Elections and Leap Day 2020……I’m scratching my head again.

Oh, let’s start with this one more time: Are we really acting upon the notion of Black History Month really begins January 1st to December 31st? Be real honest! We don’t! And let’s be clear, it’s not what it is ALL THE TIME!

CALLOUT FROM FACEBOOK/TWITTER: Like last year, and I’m going to say it: if we really want to celebrate Black History Month all year, we better act like it. Really ACT LIKE IT! Partially, at times we say it, but hardly never acknowledge that notion!  True or False?

How many in Milwaukee have seen this outside of the Zeidler Building?

Who were the real “Dark Horses” in Black History that many still overlook to this day in 2020?

Since the death of Kobe Bryant as we all know, has anyone had this feeling that this Black History Month has been summarized by him most of the time?

For us in Milwaukee, we recently added African-Americans to the War Memorial’s exhibits. Real Question: Why did it take 62 years?!! REALLY?! It ain’t about Douglass MacArthur and Billy Mitchell only. #FACTS #THATPART

In contrast, who is a dark horse on the rise right now in Black History Month 2020?

Any Black Wrestling Fans like the fact that BLACK wrestlers are finally getting their due?

Which organizations in Milwaukee, as well as Wisconsin, can be supported in regarding the legality of African-Americans? As everyone knows that the state and city has segregation problems.

Like last year, when many feel about Black Churches being all about the money and houses, do some actually forget that some Black Churches give back?!!!!

Oh let me count the ways of this again: why do many folks again who fault 45’s mess, had to reverse back to Barack Obama? He’s NOT THE PRESIDENT ANYMORE!

True or Nah? So I’m assuming that many will not acknowledge the 150th Anniversary of the 15th Amendment that guaranteed African American Men the right to vote? Or the 55th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, or yes….the 100th Anniversary of the Right to Vote for Women? Like really, many need to read on the history! Every Black Man must have on a 150th Anniversary Lapel, shirt or Pin in the RED BLACK GREEN YELLOW Colors and wear that to all the Election Polling places, even at Black Related Events, Juneteenth Day and promote that to EVERY BLACK MALE 18 years and over when exercising the right to Vote at one time many were denied!

With all due respect to Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, many took shots at their Super Bowl Halftime Show like literally. Really?!

Alot has changed the legality of black folks over the years, but which in the mindset has not changed in the legality of black folks overall even in the year of 2020 so far? Either in America and Worldwide?

For those of us who are Dark Horses in Black History right now, when will the flowers be given? Don’t say at our Funerals! Give us the flowers NOW!

For those of us who are Unsung Heroes in Black History right now, when will the flowers be given? Again, don’t just say Funerals!

For those whom are yet to be in the next era of Black History, don’t you agree that that flowers will be given in a moment in time? Don’t EVER think about the Funerals! Give them the flowers ALONG THE WAY!

CALLOUT: I want to see this for future BLACK HISTORY MONTH Celebrations for the houses: Can us in the Black Community invent or make some Kente Buntings that we can display outside of the house along with the Garvey Flag and yes, American Flag? (and for those outside of America with the Canadian, UK, other flags)? I’m trying to see something like the 4th of July, per se.

Oh, many of us had Primary Elections. Hmm…..who voted? BE FREAKING HONEST! Don’t act like you forgot.

Are there any Black Introverted Authors that need their books published?

Just recently, MillerCoors here in Milwaukee had a shooting at the Brewery in killing 5 employees. The shooter, Anthony Ferill, as we know was black. And had racially been harassed and targeted within 5 years. With the racial history of the Breweries and African-Americans in the country have been escalated with hate, are they as well as any other employer in the country has NOT LIVED UP to the hype in promoting real diversity and also confronting the anal of White Supremacy?

And finally to be asked in Black History Month in 2020: With the leading candidates for the Democratic Party that wants to beat 45 like a drum, who among the remaining 6 that has a legitimate chance to actually do the job? Who really wants it? It turns out that many feel that the candidates don’t really speak to BLACK CONCERNS as much they say. The closest that might get there are Joe Biden and maybe Mike Bloomberg. Of course that the ads might say something but it’ll take more than the Ads and Soundbites just to make this an interesting Presidential 2020 Election.

Happy Black History Month! 4 Life.

Preface: I wrote this on the Stephen’s Spot on WordPress Facebook Page in regarding this beef between Snoop Dogg/Gayle King/Oprah Winfrey in regarding the recent interview of the Kobe Bryant Case from 2003. Also since then, former UN Ambassador Susan Rice warned Snoop to back off in the regarding an army that he may not win over. In fact in a couple of days, Snoop did apologize (with a hand from his mother of course) for what he said to Gayle in the recent passing of the NBA Legend. However many don’t want to acknowledge nor accept the apology of Snoop Dogg in which the same folks side with him of opinion.

It’s time for the black community to really have a real serious dialogue regarding this matter. Everybody knows that many of the black men are still hurt by the untimely death of Kobe Bryant. And also angry at Gayle King of what was documented regarding the Sexual Assault case that happened in 2003. If Gayle King had talked TALKED to Kobe way when about it this would not have happened in this dialogue!

Now of all this death threats against her, THIS IS NOT THE WAY! It does matter who you are! This is not High School getting beat up after 3pm on a bus stop. Black Men need to check other black men in regards that this is not how we handle this. Black Men say all the time about protecting the Black Woman like all the time, but it’s not enough when it comes to things like this. How is THIS is setting the example for our black boys our future black Kings that we are supposed to raise up right now? And to think that also there are black women who have been harassed in any fashion are trembling right now about this. Doesn’t matter if it’s your mother, sister, cousin, aunt, grandmother, or matriarch in the freaking family! Yes we can say the same about BLACK MEN being harassed by Black Women because #melanin women you know it’s the truth regarding that part of the harassment men get laughed at. The attitude going back to your younger days until now. Being all bitter because when a black dude tries to approach you now in a respectful manner, you dump it like yesterday’s garbage. How is that inspiring black girls, though? REALLY? You realize that all of this is prelude to domestic violence, right? Let that sink in!

Let’s be freaking real of what is happening in the neighborhoods, matter of fact in our black community where this is still a problem! We know it’s still #BlackHistoryMonth 2020 but this happens in any month on the freaking calendar!

It’s ok to agree and disagree in all but don’t go there with threatning someone’s life that is not cool! Whether you like Gayle King or not, she like many of you has folks to feed that is bigger than her job.

What did Ice Cube used to say? You need to check yourself before you wreck yourself!

By the way this would be a time when your black male groups and female groups need to have that discussion!

Postface: Like many, there are those who are still upset, sad, angry or just plain stunned in regarding Kobe Bryant. I get that. Many get that. What also many must realize when Snoop was going after Gayle King, just like 50 Cent, Boosie and countless others that agreed with the Doggfather is that when you put out a message like “Funky Dog-head Bit**” and using the words “we’ll come get you” that is more like a threat. So you mean to tell me that Gayle King should have been in a school yard fight after 3pm just for this interview that she did with Lisa Leslie? Oh were glad that didn’t happen! That would indicated domestic violence in which is like dudes can’t hit girls and that would resulted in legal action. Now think about this for a moment. Is this what Kobe Bryant wanted? Is this what Vanessa Bryant wanted? What about Kobe’s parents? His sisters? Relatives? Close friends and associates? And yet Kobe’s surviving daughters of Natalia, Bianka and Capri? Now Capri is the youngest of the four just born last December. Keep that in mind. But seriously, Kobe would not want this so-called war to start up like this. He probably would tell those involved: CHILL OUT! Of course I said it! And the thought of this would be not very pleasant of remembering him. Already, Kobe and Gianna had a funeral service which was private. And many are willing to wait to attend the Public Memorial Service later on this month in Los Angeles on the 24th.

Many might thought that this dialogue would continue. BUT………courtesy of the Hollywood Reporter, NBA Legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar written this statement online. He summarizes this:

However, without finding out any facts or contacting King, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Snoop Dogg immediately released vitriolic personal attacks on King reminiscent of Trump’s attacks on Megyn Kelly and Rosie O’Donnell. Both men responded to the video by calling King a “b***h,” among other insults. While it’s clear that 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg were reacting from a place of deep grief, their personal emotion doesn’t justify such a public and misguided attack. When a man calls a woman a b***h because she does something he doesn’t like, he is nourishing the already rampant misogyny in society. But when a black man does it, he is perpetuating negative stereotypes about how black men perceive and treat women. That is harmful to the entire African American community. Snoop Dogg has 39.1 million followers on Instagram and 50 Cent has 25.3 million followers on Twitter. When they send out to their followers a threatening and abusive tirade, they are influencing a younger generation of men to continue to refer to women who don’t do what men want as b****es. Worse, King started receiving death threats.

Several celebrities came to King’s defense, including Oprah Winfrey, Sen. Cory Booker, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, and others. To his credit, Snoop Dogg has since apologized for his comments, admitting he overreacted: “I would like to apologize to you publicly for the language that I used and calling you out of your name and just being disrespectful.” He also said, “When you’re wrong, you gotta fix it.” That’s something Kobe would have agreed with. Fame is unforgiving. Most people who make mistakes in their lives have a degree of privacy within which they can heal and redeem themselves. With the famous, nothing is forgotten and rarely is anything forgiven. Kobe did indeed go through an accusation which he said was consensual, but still was adultery. That was 17 years ago, when he was only 24. The case was dismissed and Kobe redeemed himself many times over with his exemplary life since. To me, Kobe was even more exceptional because he learned from his mistakes and devoted himself to being a better person. Few have that kind of strength, courage or commitment. We can love and respect Kobe without canonizing him as perfect. Death often immortalizes the ideal rather than the real. But it was the real Kobe, flaws and all, that we should love. Kobe would not have appreciated the attacks against Gayle King because he knew they perpetuated a climate of disrespect that would be physically, mentally and socially harmful toward all women, including his wife and daughters.

Again, I say that even though that this angle might be dying down sort of speak, but the summaries of this might continue. And it’s going to continue when the real women who have been abused and violated after hearing this, they might react alot more frightening than the usual. I know many might say what would if your mother, daughter, sisters, cousins, aunts, matriarchs would have this unknown fear of getting violated think? Yeah, for all you #GirlDads, and Dudes with a house full of women, think about it!

And yes, guess what women, you might think this is all about you but guess what? Men can be abused from you as well. So we all got to get the talking in our families, fraternities, sororities, men’s groups, women’s groups and any other group out there that needs the ongoing dialogues. After all, I need to pen this: OUR CHILDREN ARE WATCHING! And what are we handing them to the next generation that want to fairly well lead us to new and better things? Bet nobody cared about that until now.

Not a cool way to start Black History Month 2020!

BDP – You Must Learn (1989)

I think it’s time for us black folks to wake up! Like the line from movie School Daze: WAKE UP!!!!!!!

Welcome to the 94th Edition of the occasion that many of find interesting and daring. Black History Month. In the year of 2020. A leap year with a twist of the Summer Games and Presidential Elections.

Now of course, that guys like me are our setting the tables in full Black History Scenary. On the other hand many of us black folks are doing a disservice in the maintenance of our traditional history in various obvious objectives. I’m going to be real today. Many of you are probably hash-tagging #BlackHistory365 or “I wish we learn this everyday.” Or the ultimate favorite, we need to teach our children more. While I agree that we need to learn about ourselves all the time, but at the same time we don’t really honor our ancestors that piloted the green light since day one! We don’t. Want more proof: many of us when we were young and acting stupid on field trips to the museum, we often see the African Exhibits with the naked black women, plus the long breasts hanging with the necklaces we giggle and laugh. Oh don’t tell me that many of us do that. Let’s be honest. Although we should be excited about our historical aspects of events and figures, we need to check ourselves. Time to get woke for real. For those whom are younger than 43 years old, you all are talking about what you’re doing now and ignoring the thought of Black History in all, to quote Boogie Down Productions “you must learn.” There were folks before you had balls and didn’t made hashtags to prove their blackness, wokeness, or anykind of ness on the map. They did it the hard way, so guys like you wouldn’t have to worry. But in the era of the revamped White Supremacy full of Neo Nazis and Jim Crow III making a scene that is killing unarmed black men, anti employment/economic statues/housing and many others against blacks TODAY: again Millennials and Gen-Z black folks: YOU MUST LEARN!

If you’re one of the many that still thinks that Black History is American History, stop hitting the booze and the legal Mary Jane for a second. Please stop! Black History once again is really World History. Not all of it is American History only. Might I say this again and again until we get it right? Also might I add that Black History maybe the “proverbial American History” but there are folks in THIS country that may not want to hear about our historical aspects. They don’t. Unless it’s about Martin Luther King and that’s about it. Really?! Are we playing this game again? Black History Month is much more than one man like him and one woman like Rosa Parks. It’s more than Louis Armstrong, more than Malcolm X, more than Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Reggie White, LeRoy Butler, Russell Wilson, Lamar Alexander, and yes Patrick Mahomes. Black History is much more than the people who founded the idea telling our stories from Dr. Carter Woodson who started this occasion along with his fraternity of Omega Phi Psi. Much more than every architect, scientist, lawyer, Servicemen, Servicewomen, actor, actress, archivist, bloggers, driver, business owner, inventor, minister and many other occupation on the face of the Earth. Like they say in our families, we’ve come a mighty long way. And still making charts left to go. And I may add for our non black folks especially whom are caucasian, this is not racist! This is the time that many of you must listen of what we have to say regarding us! Of course many might ask, why there isn’t a White History Month? or an American History Month? Really? Must we ask this over an over? Next month is Women’s History Month I will not be asking a dumb stupid question why there isn’t a Men’s History Month. And yet, Lord knows there is one. But we just don’t know it yet! If many of you “detectives” want to know the reasons why Dr. Carter Woodson picked February because of the Men like Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass whose birthdays are in the same week had influences regarding black folks.

Abraham Lincoln: February 12th.

Frederick Douglass: February 14th.

So as we once again observe and summarize these 29 days. Yes, for this year, Black History Month has an extra day due to the Leap Year, let us NOT ACT A FREAKING FOOL! Let us be civil with our pride and blackness and let us continue to do the work that our previous folks done by setting the course and for us to continue course. We got so much history all the time to summarize. However, I must say this. If we don’t uphold our historical stories and events all day every day like many of you have been saying, don’t blame society, lack of education, or the white man. Or White Woman. That will be our fault because we have dropped the ball on purpose. By NOT EDUCATING US! By listening to the bogus messages that we are distorted to listen and hear. And basically, our downfall. Mark my words.

Now, let me do the set up of the table begin. And no, there is no permission needed. Never need one. Never have to request one.
