Well, it’s Milwaukee Day. The unofficial holiday to somewhat celebrate as an extension of the city’s original birthday with pride, but however yes it’s a day to celebrate us Brew City folks. Now, yes we do got problems of Lead Water, Segregation, Jobs, and a way just to be economically sound. Yes, this is our day of April 14th, as we once again for about the 10th time, recognize 414 Day. And despite of the positives and negatives, we know by now: I’m scratching my head again. And this time, it’s for the locals.

So how does one celebrate Milwaukee Day, or 414 Day, anyway?

MILESTONE: Oh, 2009 marks the 10th anniversary of Milwaukee Day. It started with a joke. Now with that joke in the rear view, again how does one celebrate and what will be for the next 10 years of future Milwaukee Days and beyond?

City Hall with the 414 Flag

This needs no asking: Which Milwaukee neighborhood that many already knows, has the best outings, on point, real progressive, and actually gives back by stating of giving back? I say the Riverwest.

Oh this needs to be asked: Over the years, Milwaukee was and is known as the City of Festivals. And yet we had a City of Festivals Parade, a Milwaukee Christmas Parade and also The Great Circus Parade. If you can get one of these Parades back, what will it be?

This needs to be asked by some or a few, which neighborhoods in Milwaukee should be on the rise, on the comeback, and waiting to be recoginized to represent? I’ll say: Bay View, Bronzeville and my neighborhood I know personally: Lincoln Creek. And I say Lincoln Creek because I was raised in the neighborhood back in day when folks knew your name and where you live! It’s has to be represented even more NOW!

And may I add:

Well, it seems that Black History Month 2019 is about to be in the books. And apparently that this was one of the almost weird Black History Month Celebrations that has happened. Oh, yes it’s 93 years old. And it seems that many already forgotten that the occasion is not a racist celebration. And many had to be reminded that it does matter just like the various White stories we hear almost every day at work, school, or anywhere else. I said many times before that Black History is NOT American History. It may have some American elements in all, but it’s not only American. Black History is also celebrated in different world countries like Canada, the UK, France, Haiti, Jamaica, and others. It’s not just America alone!

So what were my moments that helped made Black History Month 2019 good?

Well, let’s start with the Oscars. No, I’m not going to go toe to toe and bash the Oscars in context. But I will say this: Regina King (aka Brenda Jenkins from 227) Black Panther walked with 3 Oscar W’s in the areas of Production Design won by Hannah Beachler who became the first African-American Female to win that category. Original Score of the movie won by
Ludwig Goransson (non-black), and also Best Costume Design by Ruth Carter. Oh, at long last after 30 years in the movie game: Spike Lee (YES THAT SPIKE LEE) after all this time, won an Oscar for directing as part of the win for the movie Black Klansman. This was Spike’s first Oscar Win and many thought that it was about time that he got one. Just to think, 30 years. Since the first movie that he directed: Do the Right Thing. And even though “Green Book” was highly undiscovered, the actor, however, Mahershala Ali became an Oscar Award Winner in getting the category’s Best Supporting Actor. Later on, Green Book won the best picture of the year and yes Octavia Spencer along with Mahershala were acknowledged.

For Music: I can name many: But Gary Clark, Jr won this one. If you have not picked up “This Land” at your Targets, Best Buys, Amazons, iTunes, or Google Play, your music collections in Black History Month was not saved! The album was supposed to be launched in March, but thankfully it was pushed back in February a week after his birthday on the 22nd. Yes, February 22nd was dubbed Washington’s Birthday, but I don’t think no one was thinking of that. Yes, this was the “This Land” album that had many folks buzzing since the video woke up all being shocked and surprised, with the black folks standing on the Confederate Flags. But it also dealt with the fact that racism is still an ugly feeling of hate on someone because of skin color. And many thought that Gary was separating the races in all. BULL CRAP! Many African-American Songwriters and musicians who were and mostly all Civil Rights Activists, Peace Activists and Social Justice Warriors all talked about how bad Racism/Discrimination is. So to those who were are want to be fans of Gary Clark, Jr. after he said the lyrics: “Run N***a Run, Run back where you come from”, you need to check yourself! He’s addressing the concern that many of you probably fear to talk about it at your group events full of black folks! And I’ll bet many of you, got Black Friends on speed dial! Don’t act surprised.

Here in Wisconsin: we had a debate about who should have been and chosen to be celebrated in the badger state’s Black History Highlights. The name Colin Kaepernick was on the minds of many. The Wisconsin GOP overwhelm didn’t add Colin Kaepernick’s name to the list of achievements due to his protesting of the NFL/National Anthem. Many called him being “too controversial.” And it gained national attention. However many in the Milwaukee area, where Colin was born decided to add his name to the City of Milwaukee’s Black History Month Segments in which many deemed well received as a good thing. Many also had agreed that other activists and civil rights leaders were deemed controversial, but many were praised for their work later on when they age or pass on. And yet, that was called out on being hypocritical. So yes, the City of Milwaukee accomplished a notion that the state’s GOP failed! And how DARE the Wisconsin GOP suggested to tell us whom to celebrate for our Month of Black History?! We don’t need NO ONE TELLING US whom to celebrate and highlight. No one! Also our new elected Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes was highlighted not only on the state level, but also in Milwaukee’s news outlets for Channel 6 and 12’s Black History Month’s Segments. Keep in mind, he’s the first African-American Lt. Governor in the state.

Another highlight of Black History Month in 2019 that I didn’t see coming: Solange Knowles, Beyoncé’s baby sister bought a social media website that many haven’t used in a while and also deleted years ago: BlackPlanet. You remember BlackPlanet where black folks and other folks logged in and getting all the info about who’s who? Way before Facebook and Instagram came in slightly after Myspace, and oh that’s where I met “Stacey Heskinson” and “Mary Lee” who were FAKES! Fake hookups! That is why I deleted my Black Planet Page is because of them and others like them who almost tricked me in giving money to them trying to get out of Nigeria. Yes, that’s the truth over 10 years ago. But since then, I stuck with those who know me and that lead me to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Instagram, and others that are not tricky. And I’m sure many who used BlackPlanet then had been tricked. So I’m not really looking forward to the reunion of the BlackPlanet party, but I will say that yes if any black folks still want to go to Black Planet and revive the username and password, be my guest. But happy that Solange bought the company though.

Sidenote: even my denomination of the United Methodist Church had several Black History References from quizzes to Black Harry. Yes, black folks played a role in this and the tradition continues to this day as well as other denominations, non-denominational etc. Plus, several African-American Teachers decorated their classroom doors in honor of their Colleges, Fraternities, Sororities, famous figure in history, and many more! And the idea came from Facebook!

Back in Milwaukee, during the first week of Black History Month: MPS had a week of meetings, events, social plays and others in regarding “National Black Lives Matter Week”. And with the week in summary, also regarding the activities, that an idea to incorporate Black History in the school subjects everyday that many of the kids and teens can learn about other black leaders and legends other than Martin Luther King, Jr. other than Malcolm X, other than Rosa Parks, and etc. I don’t know about the other school districts, but WAKE UP! Black History is not just an “American Fad”. It’s for all to learn from. And on a side note, of course, we need to learn about our subject all the time every day like apps and tablets.  Also, one of our Milwaukee Municipal Judges Derek Mosley takes the time every February to summarize stories of Black History to social media. He’s been doing this for 10 years, and yet the summaries are still valuable for all to understand!  Follow him on Facebook!

However: I need to say something that I’ve been seeing a whole lot of #BlackHistory365 or #BlackHistoryEveryday or I’m black every month comments. I think we’re kind of missing the boat here. OF COURSE! We are supposed to summarize our culture everyday. But black folks, hear me out when I tell you at times, we DON’T hardly acknowledge our people EVERYDAY! We don’t do it like the other ethnics do all the time, everyday. The only time we acknowledge I think around celebrating our people is really around family reunions, weddings, anniversaries, the club, and yet also: funerals. But as far as more of everyday when many are not doing problems we skip over that for some reason. We go to work, school, or worrying about that thing in the Mall or stores! There was a comment asked about how can we celebrate our folks everyday and believe it or not, it was on the Stephen’s Spot Twitter Page. The answer was more like an opinionated thought of starting out basic and continue to build on the knowledge every time. Learn from those that have extended knowledge and to build your learning in summary. Of course, it’s hard to do, but ask this: If we can be so knowledgeable about Technology or the latest game, why can’t we be so knowledgeable about our history in the same context? Not just talking the talk, BUT ACTUALLY, WALK THE FREAKING WALK! Man, we can hashtag all we want, but that hashtagging better be in action! Which means also that you better not charge up your Black History in March or later months, but left it lying lifeless in February. That’s a foul ball.

And of course in Black History Month 2019, there were several problems of turmoil: Jussie Smollett of Empire was allegedly attacked in Chicago all to do with some thugs wearing MAGA attire, but apparently, it was beginning to be a rumored attack. And his character on the show is not going to happen in the last three episodes in this matter. And yes also: R. Kelly turned himself in after all this time being in the Hot Seat of this Child Molestation charges that many dodged for so long. And also recently during the Michael Cohen testimonies, the 45 administration brought in Lynne Patton whom she feels that 45 is not a racist. Well, welcome to tokenism! Have a seat next to Candace Owens about what she said about Hitler being a nice guy. STOP IT! Hitler was not a cool dude so let’s not be so petty or tap dance like a fool. And speaking of that in stupidity: the issue of Blackface reared its ugly head. Don’t get me started!

So how do we end Black History Month of 2019? We should end by stating that we always should acknowledge our ancestors that brought us knowledge and wisdom to carry forward. It’s been 2 years since my father’s passing, but I’m holding to the torch. It’s a hard job to grasp but I’m trying. Also, we need to be thankful that a month like this that started with Dr. Carter G. Woodson in 1926 that got us talking about us. Keep in mind, NO ONE was talking about us! Until Dr. Woodson heard the Black Civil War Veterans talking in the coal mines in the South. And we also end the #BHM2019 Celebrations by the ongoing efforts to give our black kids a voice. A black voice to tell them that many might not acknowledge them of their talents and being black, but still, prove them WRONG! I want to acknowledge our young black kings and queens that your time is coming. Be ready and willing.

CALLOUT: And a lesson to all of us that Black History Month SHOULD NOT BE underestimated by anyone! Even if you’re black yourself!

Our proud historical events and ideas are still out in interests. And yet many of us have to begin new chapters to extend the stories. Black History Month 2019 may be already in the archives, but yet the summaries and extended plays still go on all the time. Or if you’re like yours truly: you can do BOTH by celebrate Black History Month and summarize Black History every time. No, it’s not a mistake. Keep it in the middle!

And that alone needs no permission!

#BLACKHISTORYMONTH4LIFE!
And yet, the struggle continues.

Normally, I hate to interrupt my ongoing celebration of Black History Month of 2019, but recently today, I caught an ire of a story that nearly had my blood boiling. This is the article that many of us Black Wisconsinites had to read while encountering a thing called a Snow Day:

From the Wisconsin Public Radio Website:

Wisconsin lawmakers clashed Tuesday over a Black History Month resolution that names controversial athlete Colin Kaepernick, a former NFL quarterback.

According to Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke, R-Kaukauna, some Republican members of the state Assembly were concerned about Kaepernick’s inclusion in the resolution, which was drafted by the state Legislative Black Caucus.

The resolution text says it aims to “recognize the significant contributions people of African descent have made, to the foundation, growth and development of our country and state.”

It includes figures like Lucien H. Palmer, the first African-American to be elected to the Wisconsin Assembly, Violette Neatley Anderson, the first African-American woman to practice law before the United States Supreme Court and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Kaepernick, former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, has been a lightning rod for political debate since he began kneeling during the national anthem preceding games in 2016 as a way to protest racial inequality in the United States. He has since left professional football, but remains a polarizing figure.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, said it was unfortunate that the state’s Legislative Black Caucus chose to include such a divisive figure in their resolution.

“We’re in a new era, we’re trying to figure out ways to work together,” Vos said. “We would hope they would have more consideration to say, let’s look at finding ways to work together, rather than always looking at ways to drive us apart.”

Rather than vote on the resolution drafted by the state’s Legislative Black Caucus, Republican lawmakers attempted to bring up their own Black History Month resolution. That resolution omitted Kaepernick and Milwaukee Rev. Greg Lewis, and added Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes and Vel Phillips, the first African-American to be elected to statewide office in Wisconsin

Chairman of the state Legislative Black Caucus, Rep. David Crowely, D-Milwaukee, called GOP lawmakers’ refusal to take up the caucus’ resolution a “slap in the face.”

“The biggest issue that we have as a black caucus is people choosing to pick our leaders for us,” Crowley said.

The state Senate is expected to take up a Black History Month resolution Wednesday.

The office of Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, did not immediately return a request for comment about which resolution to the Senate would vote on.

https://www.wpr.org/wisconsin-lawmakers-spar-over-including-colin-kaepernick-black-history-month-resolution

Later on, in a 61-34 vote, it was almost that the vote went through, but later on afterward, the Wisconsin GOP removed Colin’s name because he was deemed as well: “too controversial.”

After reading this article, this was the stupidest thing I ever read. For the second time behind closed doors that the Wisconsin GOP who are mostly white are telling black folks what they can put into a resolution that makes them feel better. But when the name Colin Kaepernick appeared in the idea of the resolution, they all had those nightmares of him kneeling before the National Anthem. Oh, did they mention that Colin was born in Wisconsin? Yes, he’s from here! We’ve found this out when he torched the Packers. Colin Kaepernick is from Milwaukee. Grew up here. Liked Brett Favre and everything. And yes he went out west with his family after age 4 and also played ball in college and of course played in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers until he went through Green Bay and en route to the Superbowl. And lost. And of course Colin got beat by the Packers 17-3 and the majority of the season just benched. Then the kneeling started. Everywhere he went and just kneeled during the National Anthem. Why?!! We know that he didn’t take any future offers with other NFL teams. But with all the Kneelings he was protesting, later on, was against police brutality. Not against the Flag or the Pledge! And the thing also VETERANS who saw his protesting also joined his cause. Even a Veteran named Nate Boyer who was a fan of the 49ers at first didn’t like Colin’s cause, but the two got together and talked about why was it necessary. Hell: EVEN President Obama commented that Colin’s protest was exercising his Constitutional Right as a citizen. And plus, Colin Kaepernick is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. A black fraternity that was founded in 1911.

So to the so-called Wisconsin GOP: in regarding your resolution to choose whom we should recognize during Black History Month in Wisconsin is indeed a “direct kick in the crotch.” That’s almost sound is like you telling us what we can do and what we can’t do just to stay in our lanes and keep quiet. That to me as a black resident of Wisconsin is flat out ridiculous and I dare say racist! Majority of you probably never had the ability to acknowledge the legality of Black Wisconsinites of the contributions we made here in all of the 170+ years that the Badger state has been in the union. Thusly, you haven’t known anything. Probably never attended a Black History Month or Juneteenth Day Festival or anything that pertains to the ongoing contributions of Wisconsin’s African-American Historical Aspects. For once, I’ll say in regarding not including Colin Kaepernick in “your” Black History Month Resolution is really stupid! You labeled him as a “controversial figure” all because of his protests of the Flag, his Pig Socks, the National Anthem and amongst others. And you label him as a controversial figure. You know who was a deemed a controversial figure that was deemed hated and many folks after about 50 years since his assassination is still admired: that’s right, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Oh, I can name another controversial turned likable figure: Muhammad Ali, who had to relinquish his championship belt in boxing because he refused to join the military during the Vietnam War. But many liked him! Juan Carlos and Tommie Smith, whom in 1968 had the black fists raised and head bowed on the podium in Mexico City, And oh…..they were controversial, but many now are liking them after their gesture. And keep in mind that 1968, MLK was killed, along with RFK months later. Another controversial figure that stood up for civil rights for the female side of things: Fannie Lou Hamer, who stood up for the movement fighting for the right and encouragement to vote in the south then was beaten up for her act of protest along with her supporters. But most of her cause, she progressed forward. Even after she questioned the statement regarding the idea of black folks were being murdered for their rights to vote such as: “Is this America?” to a convention in 1964. And oh: Remember Rosa Parks, whom as we know refused to give up her seat on the bus in Montgomery, Alabama? Yeah, that one. And that was deemed controversial!

So what does of all this mean? I highlighted a few African-Americans most we know by reciting events, examples of protesting, and speeches. But THEY COLLECTIVELY were criticized for being controversial. But many years later are being admired as part of the movement and want to effect change. Even other men like Malcolm X, other women like Dorothy Height, and countless other African-Americans that fought for EFFECTIVE CHANGE!

What I hate to say that the GOP of Wisconsin does not give Zero F’s about black folks. And the population of the African-Americans in the state is roughly under 8%. While is ok to recognize the black leaders in the state for various contributions is fine, but to not recognize Colin Kaepernick and for the Activism/Philanthropy he has brought: such as Anti-Police Brutality, Youth Initiatives, Community Reform and Minority Empowerment, Health Reform and Nourishment, and Climate Change Awareness. And additionally, he donated $50,000 to two organizations here in Milwaukee a couple of years ago. So this guy as many looked at being un-Patriotic, in all, with the flag in all, looked controversial, but at least he’s doing something right to address the ongoing concerns of America’s dilemma dealing with racism and countless others. Even this biased BS crap in Madison of a controversial resolution of Black History Month!

So here it is yet again. For the 93rd time, Black History Month is back once more. A time that many will celebrate the traditional version of highlighting the celebrations and accomplishments of black folks and also the ongoing summaries taking about us every day.

And of course, there are those who are so, confused and racist, there are going to be some village idiots who might question again about why there is no “White History Month” that already plagues us every day with the lies buried until generations later will dig up and asking about the truth. Oh, there will be a spoiler alert that many will put out hashtags like #BlackHistory365 in all just stay engaged. Oh, they’ll be engaged with the hashtag for a while, but I’ll ask if you’re stopping the #BlackHistory365 thing by mid-July, then that makes you a hater. No, more like not being responsible. Not being responsible for what YOU put out and not keeping up with the responsibility that YOU put out every time. Yes, I am directing this to the Black Community and I mean it with love! The keyword in this is RESPONSIBILITY! You put it out, you be responsible for it!

So the ongoing asking question yet again: why February, why not every day? I wish we can summarize our history every day, but every day in the calendar year, we work, go to school, hang out at the mall, buying up Air Jordans or iPhones. Or maybe many of you are doing this right now: checking your social media boards about some meaningless and sometimes positive meme or some so-called story of positive vibes. Of course, we say we should study our history and stories every day, BUT WE DON’T do it EVERYDAY! And what I’m saying, is not very new! It’s not new!

I hear folks all the time that “they should teach this in the schools” speech, but to those who say that, guess what, maybe the majority of you mentioning this should become Black History/Multi-African History Instructors in the classrooms and study halls! Oh, did you realize that many teachers are quitting right now? Why is that? How many teachers in the Black History Category quit last year in 2018? How many actually resigned? If you are one of the many who quit, you need to have an explanation. Was it the kids, the teens, or the so-called grown folks that know so much?! Or was it some so-called street smart teacher that didn’t get far as much? Let’s be real.

It’s really interesting that many have to chose the angle about celebrating this way of every day all calendar year. Me personally, I prefer a balance. A balance between highlights and summaries. For many, yes you can still celebrate the highlights of Black History Month. Of course, who’s going to stop you? If you are Black and have been told to not celebrate you, they are flat out stupid! If you are Black and still celebrate Black History Month, and by contrast, SUMMARIZE black history daily or weekly or monthly then guess what, you’re safe. You can do it both ways. Not just wide left or wide right. It goes in the middle. Keep it balanced! Forget about what your friends say and I dare say your family thought to believe at one point, your own point of view stays. I’m talking to those who felt neglected and tricked. This is the truth that many should be following anyway.

Oh, and about the quote that Black History is American History? it’s whack! Not all Black History is American History. Not all Black History is Canadian History. And the same is with the UK, France, Germany, Egypt, South African, and many others that celebrate the history of African Decent citizens. Yes, the idea of a Black History Month Celebration by Dr. Carter G. Woodson did start in America. But let’s be realistic: When folks say, “Black History is American History” per se in a stupid manner, it’s really talking about African-Americans in general IN America. But that excludes the international folks who are not American. That’s why I say it’s a false statement. Not everyone who is black is American. When you talk about BLACK HISTORY, you are addressing the whole black audience, WORLDWIDE! Does this make sense? It should.

So yes, for the 93rd time, we will be once again educated and summarized on why this occasion matters. It does matter. Matter of fact: #BLACKHISTORYMONTHMATTERS Our race of people did and does matter. And will matter as long as folks are misguided or need the guidance of knowledge and truth. And even also, yet to be discovered. So yes, it’s time to bust out the centerpiece one more time for the occasion and summary and celebration for blacks, by blacks, and many others to look and seek. Black History Month is not a time to react to racism from those asking when there’s a White History Month. White folks: NOT TODAY! Or any other folks of color non-black, I’ve mentioned this years ago, you need to hype up your minority months. Just a thought.

Now, I don’t need no one’s permission: I got a Black History Month centerpiece to set up.

#BlackHistoryMonthMatters

With the still new year in motion, it’s already being bonkers. Of course today we are removed from the first Federal Holiday in honor of Dr. King. And yeah, New Year’s Day. But in all what has 2019 has done thus far, well not much except the inaugurations and the soon to be done 2018-19 NFL Season. And the disappointing Government Shutdown that plagued the 800,000 workers. Shameful! And like many before, I’m scratching my head again.

Black folks: what about this challenge? Can this happen?

I’m assuming that all of the Divine 9 January Founder’s Day “Days” have been accounted for?

So how’re those New Year’s Resolutions holding up? Like seriously?!

Did anyone act a fool on the King Holiday? Please say no!

So…Wisconsin, how about that new Governor Tony Evers, eh?

What will be missed about the Bradley Center? Besides the empty spot of rubble?

That one weekend in Milwaukee this actually happened on January 12th and 13th: no gunshots. Can we have every weekend or every day without no gun violence?

You know that the Milwaukee Bucks are dead serious of Basketball dominance in the East, right?

Why many conservatives want to test Cardi B? Like seriously?!

It just dawned on me. Not every music artist is “woke and conscious!!!!” Why is that possible?! And who is listening to them? – Regarding R.Kelly.

Since when did Cigna and Queen Latifah hook up for annual physical PSAs for 2019?

Of all the things wild today in Milwaukee, naming rights. Why Miller Park?

It seems that the Milwaukee Streetcar haters got excited about the vehicle being stuck in all this past week. But did they know that an incorrectly parked car caused the problem?! Stupid. And no, this is where you have to defend The Hop.

Is Killer Mike’s Trigger Warning show valuable right now on Netflix?

With now the NFL playoffs set, and Championship Sunday is clear, it either the #Rams or the same ol’ Tom Brady and the #Patriots. Who you really got? Spoiler Alert: There is a shocker.

So Gladys Knight is going to sing the National Anthem for the Super Bowl. And yes we know that the song had the Third Stanza of “No heirling or refuge for a slave” lyric. And many called her to be off-limits to black cards and cookouts. On the flip side, Gladys Knight has been on the forefront way before me, the millennials, generation z, all the so-called woke and conscious revolutionary folks, and even Colin Kaepernick and his girlfriend Nessa. So why we have to question her and her choice of singing the Anthem?! And making her sing the third stanza?! What kind of “ish” is that? Man, regardless of the decision she made and it’s none of our concern, respect the elders. I’m just saying!

Just recently, there was a Black Millionaire, named Robert F. Smith that donated to an HBCU, Morehouse College in Georgia, and many black folks on the Black Enterprise Facebook Page cried foul about this. Seriously, what is the problem?!!

Did many folks display the American Flag out on the MLK Holiday? Be honest.

You realize that January 31st will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Jackie Robinson? Watch 42!

Is Kamala Harris the one we want to see as President?

Black Folks: I need us to really explain the truth about what the Black Agenda is. What is it? Why does it matter to us in regarding those we put in office?

Spike Lee at long last will be a nominated for an Oscar. Are we happy about this?

Why is the coverage of Tommy Sotomayor still alive? Dude is STRAIGHT trash!!!!

With all the #SurvivingRKelly stuff still fresh in our minds, why reopen the pandora’s box with all the stuff happened to Michael Jackson? That will not fly right. Spoiler Alert.

In all fairness, what will it retake to reopen the Government for the Federal Workers that need their checks? And to STAY OPEN? And the WALL IS NOT THE ANSWER!

In my view, the House Democrats need to go rogue and nuclear. Around the Senate, around Mitch, around 45, around the Authority of the nation’s principals to get over the shutdown and back to work. Why is this not being proposed?!

Can the Marijuana users in all be very safe after going into the stores smelling so bad?! And the same on the roads?!!
CALLOUT: For all of the African-Americans in Wisconsin: If many had complained about the lack of qualified applicants of color, which is viable so, why many of us HAD NOT APPLIED for the jobs that the Evers Administration had displayed prior to him taking office?! They were displayed online for several weeks! We complain about this and that, and when the opportunity comes up, we go on empty. And also, what’s up the black caucuses’ in Wisconsin?! Why haven’t they been used as a resource in this? No, I’m not talking about the NAACP or the National/Local Urban Leagues. I’m talking about the Black Caucuses that many don’t tap into as much in the African-American Communities. We should know!
SECOND CALLOUT: White folks, why do you have to resort being triggered when it comes to a black man or a black woman who the phrase, “my black brothers and sisters” when addressing our concern of race? Or interracial marriage? This was brought up recently!

Update on the Shutdown: it seems that the workers are getting their checks on again and working. But why only 3 weeks until February 15th?

For all of us in the Midwest, you really believe that the Polar Vortex is not a joke?

The week of January 28th will highlight the 33rd Anniversary of the Challenger Explosion of 1986. Many of us were young when that day happened. I’m talking about us Generation X folks. Just to ask, who are the fools who think that the moon landing was fake back in 1969 which that nothing to do with this at all?!

So I hear that Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching. Um….not many like valentines though. Who really does? With all the negativity of dating and folks being way too much about that one guy or girl! Or rumors.

And the FINAL QUESTION of the first Scratching My Head All The Time Blog Post of 2019: When that Covington High School student that was disrespectful just staring at the Navajo Elder on his turf, with a MAGA hat. What was his problem?! And you know that was out of bounds dealing with racism. And oh, the jury is still out on this matter after that Today show interview.

BONUS QUESTION: It seems that the hate on Terry Crews getting sexually assaulted way back when is getting a backlash. Usually from Black Men, even D.L. Hughley, and several others. When women get sexually assaulted or abused or inappropriately touched many of them and some men do go out and band together and raise hell on the dude that did the act. HOWEVER: when a Man gets sexually assaulted, no matter how long ago it was, he receives that laughing joking reaction and gets humiliated by the male audience. Folks, when this happens in our society, what is the general common ground that stuff likes this goes on almost everytime, and it doesn’t get the same amount of respect that needed to be heard? I say this every June when Men’s Health Month comes around, with all the “Men need to go to the doctors to get checked out” speeches. BUT THIS is a health matter that Men need to be aware of and tackle with a strong Health and Wellness Foundation to improve. If this issue is bad for Men, what will it mean for the young boys who are running wild and stupid (due to DNA Samples) and many of them without setting them straight because of their dads, uncles, grandfathers, male cousins, and others are LIVING FOUL?! And women who sexually assault or abuse men, don’t get off that easily. You’re in this also!

Welcome to the first My Take the New Year. Or it states that many don’t want to begin this in a fashion on TV that dealt with Trauma.

Spolier Alert: Trauma is not new. I’ll clarify on why it is.

Throughout our history growing up in various circumstances, the issue of Trauma really hits us early. No matter if it’s in the family, neighborhoods, churches, jobs, or any other matter of speaking that many already know. Traumatic experiences come in many forms. Many examples and many angles. We all read about them and we all summarize it and usually don’t have answers. We don’t have ideas to convey the solutions at times. But there are some solutions that can cope with the valor of the effects of Trauma. In 2018, my home church had the third installment of Trauma that was about Healing the Family. And one of the speakers, laid in very well detailed information about trauma ranging from Slavery, to family conflicts, and the haunting memories of the pain and suffering about the use of trauma that stays hidden, but the wounds open up years later during adulthood. The speaker said over and over again: “Trauma is not new!” It’s not!

There were several clauses that compelled the issue of trauma ranging from Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome, Racism and Oppression, Stockholm Syndrome Traumatic Bonding, Psycho-Physical Trauma, and Psychological Warfare, just to name a few. And what does this have to do with the black community? Part of this is not new in the black community because many of us know this very well. And it ties into today’s era that many are still scared to talk about. But why???? Is it fate? Is it going to break the family apart forever? Or is it just happenstance? And many wonder why it’s so hard to break that pain of traumatic stress NOW!

Speaking of that, there was a special that was aired on the Lifetime Channel regarding R. Kelly: Surviving R. Kelly. This special aired on three consecutive nights that the women in the special had all their say or commentary about their experiences in regarding R. Kelly. Many have said over and over again that R. Kelly had “sexual advances” towards the young girls over and over many times. And even “marrying and sexual advancing” the late great Aaliyah. Which was a false statement. As I’m watching this, many had to be like why it took this long for the women, who were traumatized by all this pain and suffering had to be succumbed to stay silent and tell their sides of the stories later on as adults? Why do the women who had to sit in front of the camera tearing up are doing this? I get it that it has hit hard on them, and many had to feel for them, but many are asking, why now? Why not then?

Many had to keep quiet about the secrets. Many had to keep quiet about the claims, or the backdoor politics to allow the alleged to walk scot free. Yes, many claimed that R. Kelly probably told the women of now, girls then to keep their mouths shut and never break a word to anyone getting all hyper-emotional years later. Well, guess what, their silence is broken. Plus in all the long traumatic commentary, it seems that also that many are calling this foul ball: It’s all fake, trying to get money, trying to be famous or just yet just want to exploit the real deal about R. Kelly that many feel it’s false. Or speaking of that, many black women and black men are actually defending R. Kelly! Are you kidding me?!!! And not only that, many folks whom have Spotify, probably logging in so many times to play R. Kelly’s music in positive aspects. But these are the folks whom probably don’t care, they are still going to play his music, watch his videos online (music videos) in all. And many still are doing it. I have some of R. Kelly’s music in my collection and I haven’t played them in a long while. Just never did. I just left them alone.

When I looked at all the segments, it brought me back to all the talk about Trauma and the effects of it. The women in the special had a traumatic reaction from the past and it’s something that they can’t shake. Many also had to ask, what compelled R. Kelly to do these things that many are assuming or believing? What is causing the matter of this to occur so many times before? Was this done to him when he was younger growing up in Chicago? As a matter of fact, when he was younger according to a previously recorded footage in the special, he was sexually approached. By one of his sisters! He said it! And he also said that it was a common thing in his family. So what do we have here is a long mental health problem. A Psychological Traumatic Problem. A problem being messed up in the community that has been aware for a long time. Especially in the black families!

This sort of reminds me of a old Chris Rock joke; no pun intended. About not leaving the kids with Uncle Johnny. He summarized about those molesting Uncles that many need to watchout for. This probably was about 2004, during his “Never Scared” segment. It may seemed funny in all, but in reality, as everyone knows, it’s the truth!

So why I’m posting about trauma here on the spot? Many of us probably encountered Trauma in various ways. Families, the workplaces, organizations, the Church, and many many different groups and cliques that we associate with EVERYDAY! Even memories being tormented or attacked of ANY KIND, even embarrassed. No matter the feeling or angle it’s all related. So again, Trauma IS NOT NEW!!!!!

And even this has nothing to do with R. Kelly alleged Sex Scandals with the young girls (now adults) you have 800,000 workers in the U.S. Government that can’t get paid due to the crappy stuff about 45’s Wall. They can’t feed their families, getting the bills paid, and any other necessity that folks need everyday. And oh, even the U.S. Coast Guard under the Department of Homeland Security! Talk about TRAUMA! This crap of this so-called president taking away paychecks for a useless wall is just that: USELESS! And this is called Making America Great Again?! For all you 45 Trump Supporters about this, are you happy about this?! And don’t even front.

So yes, this is how 2019 got started, where the ending of 2018 was left undone: devolving the ability to suck out the soul of the middle class. And I know that the new House members are in place. We got a fight on our hands now which is NOT familiar! And as far as R. Kelly is concerned, already he’s feeling the heat of all this scandalous checkered past of the accusers and also recently, Sony has cut ties with him since the #SurvivingRKelly special aired on Cable TV. And about the Spotify rating that got R. Kelly’s music on rotation, I’m scratching my head on that one. Really I am. (Spoiler Alert, there will be a first Scratching my Head of the year)

If these things are not being called out or being mentioned, I’m just saying. The backdoor has been left WIDE OPEN and many folks just come in like it’s nothing. Time to fix it and shut it down!

Happy New Year.

So here we are yet again.

Happy New Year!

Welcome to the blog story that is traditional. Let’s review of what I said last year with a twist:

Like Sgt. Hulka used to say in the movie Stripes: “before we proceed any further, we gotta get something straight.”

I’m going to be taking this blog to new heights. It’s not just going to be the same old song and dance. Nope, that is going to be one and done. It’s going to more than just one blog story. No matter if you are in America or in freaking India, be ready. This blog thing will one day, get real. If I got to get my Periscope, or own video thing on here to help my stories, well: that’s what I have to do one day. What does all this mean? It means that I have to get better with the idea of blogging with the issues and concerns. I have to. It’s not just that thing that needs to be done, it must be done to improve. To inspire and yes, to get to the point of view that I need to display.

Yes, folks will walk tall, shoulders back, chin up, conscious up to the 10th level, and of course, this is an idea that would be beneficial. I thought about destroying this blog and ending a 10+ year streak, all because of other concerns of boredom or that same story. But wait…..this could be a benefit to help and inspire. While many might think that one story from a blog is all there is, think again!

“Stephen’s Spot” is not just about one blog story. Or one picture. Or one anything. It can be revolutionary, inspirational, conscious, fun, life experienced, or just plain normal. It’s not a one dance show. It’s one in the million that can be experienced if many take the time to read more than one. Now, I know many are just now discovering the blog based on what I have written back in 2014 or whatever. But if you (yes you) the reader actually like what I write here, in a sense of right now, thank you.

Knowingly I can’t control what others might read, but by me writing more, and thinking more, it will be fully objectionable for me to carry on. I’m in the 40-year-old plus age bracket, and yes this age bracket will indeed test my theory and summarize.

So guess what: you want Stephen’s Spot? I’ll give you Stephen’s Spot! This is no same old song and dance. Nope, not here!

So for now: let’s start my New Year’s Tradition of Stephen’s Spot that doesn’t need a repeat: What do I want to see and not want to see in 2019! 19 things by the way.

It’s GO TIME!

First Five I want to see in THAT YEAR OF 2019:

Employment/Health & Wellness/Politics/Voting

1) It’s time to work, folks. If this is the year that you will get that real job, the time is now! No more wasting time by waiting on others. It won’t work. We need to have a “Career Awareness Month”. We need to have better job fairs, career expos, have a “seasonal vet” career fair for the mature folks. Not that watered down stuff that many are getting. Even if you still have that degree in the display, that many will pass up. We have to do EXTRA better.

2) If you got to get yourself checked, do it. You know where the doctors are. As well as the dentists, eye examination folks and more. Matter of fact some of them might be near you right now. And while we’re at it, we need to for real get educated about the issues of health. I hear say, “you need to do this or that”. or “you need a flu shot.” BEFORE ANY THAT HAPPENS: ASK QUESTIONS! Forget what you saw on Facebook, know that real stuff first! Really stop and ask definite questions!

3) 2019 also means that the Congress will take over with some new #45 laws being placed unfairly. If any of the new members screw up, get on their case! Don’t just complain on social media, complain to the So-and-sos! Write letters or emails with proper sentences! You can do that, you know. Oh, and if you approve of the work that some or many are doing to help this country and mainly in your districts, show some love! Volunteer or work on their staff, help in politics on their behalf. Be an Able Body Person to carry that out!

4) You should know that 2019 is a “mini” voting year? Oh, you didn’t know this? Pay attention! It’s not the Presidential election, but maybe some of your County Judges or Superintendents will up be running on the ballot. Do better!

5) Speaking of the voting thing, this would be a good time to get your voter registration checked and/or updated to get ready for the 2019-20 election years. I want to see this happen even more. Forget waiting until 2020! It’s best to do it NOW!

Next Five I don’t want to see:
Church/African-Americans/Credit Checks/Not Voting

6) Like last year, and the year before that and previous years: I don’t want to see NO ONE complaining about the lack of this or that in the church. If you don’t have a certain something going in your church, then make something happen! Keep at it! What did I say after my father’s passing in 2017: Be empowered, and Stay in the fight!

7) And like many many years ago: I don’t want to see black folks putting other black folks down for stupid pathetic reasons! No matter what happens we must continue to look in the mirror and raise up. Either for Jobs, Education (past or present) contributions, clubs/organizations etc. And that goes for anyone else. It doesn’t matter what you got with you. Either way, NO EXCUSES!

8) Never EVER OVERLOOK THIS: Black Queens: you say you LOVE us Black Kings right? DO YOU?! Here is a “whenever you get a chance” challenge that you might not think. Cater to us for ONE DAY at a restaurant, or maybe give us a day that we might enjoy. Think it over! Many of you got Brothers, Fathers, Uncles, Husbands, Boyfriends, Cousins, Neighbors, and many other male influences that you probably know that need that appreciation! Even Black Kings whom you overlook a lot, never thought about, or being Single and no relationships. You guys go all out for your thing and we’re in the seats. Why not us?

9) I HOPE TO GOD, I don’t want to see credit checks on black folks no more. Matter of fact, not on anyone anywhere with credit checks!

10) I don’t want to see those who didn’t vote to gloat. Guess what: Elections have Consequences. Period!

Five More things I want to see:

Alumni Associations/Results Doing Actual Work and Milestones/ Black Church Groups/Black Community/Fraternities and Sororities

11) I want to see more of us ALUMNI (YOUNG AND OLD) to reinvest in our Alumni Groups. Not just for the class reunions and everyone also shows up broke, mad, left out and uninformed. If you get pissed about not being informed about a class reunion or gathering, DO NOT GET MAD AT THE ALUMNI COMMITTEE! You need to be backing up your Alumni Contacts from your classmates, anyway. And if your Alumni Organizations messes up, get on their case!

12) I want to see the results of us “doing the work”. Not just the partial results of patting on the back and say “nice work”. But also what did it took to get the results needed. And if your employee is celebrating a milestone of service (10, 20, etc), give him or her the due of respect. It’s the right thing to do. Or even if no one gives you a pin of service: give yourself one!

13) I want us “non-scared and scared grown folks in the Black Church Groups” to talk to our youth. Seriously talk to them. Some of them need us to come to them. I don’t care if they are in the schools shooting basketballs or at the community centers or in church playing Chess or Madden. Or double dutching, or even learning a praise dance. Even tutoring and READING BOOKS! Let’s learn to #HashtagAndTalk to our young folks. Male members of the church: get the young men involved in these groups! Women, you know what it is.

14) I want to see more black folks in the communities who think there is nothing there to do, start something! Stop complaining! Stop moaning! Get up and get out and make the stuff happen! Such as Health stuff, job applications, resumes, networking, organizing a business venture. Able Body folks, if you’re still standing outside of a Walgreens or a Gas Station asking for money, and if you can still move around, get inside that building and ask for an application! Why is that so hard?

15) Like last year and year ago, here is a thought: I want to see ALL fraternities, and ALL sororities to “recruit and meet up” with seasoned vets that can help out. Especially those of the black fraternities and sororities. All of the Divine 9 folks: From the Alphas to the Iotas and from the AKA’s to the Sigma Gamma Rho’s: Have a day in which YOU need to go out to the seasoned vets of those who are 40-ish and up that want to join up to support the groups you represent. And also, don’t be so VERY judgmental about those who are at that 40’s range. The best place to find us: either at our church events, alumni group meetings, etc. And this goes for the American Legion Family, Masons, Elks, Eastern Stars, and etc. WE SEE YOU! You need to re-introduce yourselves!

Final four: I want not to see and want to see.
Black Lives Matter/Volunteerism/Grown After 18/If it doesn’t work…..

16) Of all the things I don’t want to see: enough of the blame game on Black Lives Matter that seemed violent or racist. For all you Blue Lives Matter or copying off the Black Lives Matter Movement, you will suck. Instead of hating on Black Lives Matter at least go to a meeting or hear from those who lost a brother, or sister or a parent that was black. Take notes, Blue Lives Matter. And don’t front!
MASSIVE NEW YEAR’S CALLOUT: And also white folks: enough calling the cops on black folks doing CIVILIZED stuff like campaigns, jobs, barbecues, community projects, volunteering or even waiting on a client, going into their apartment, swimming, selling lemonade, or to be SEATED AT A RESTAURANT OR AT STARBUCKS! Be advised and WARNED; if you work at a job, you will be fired for these stupid acts! And it takes a SMARTPHONE with video to get you TERMINATED!

17) Now, this probably might work in this 2019: Get grown in your own work and volunteerism. We know what we need to do, and what to do this year. So why not get involved? And the time is right now! Didn’t I say it’s time to work?

18) This is for the grown folks 18 and up: HANDLE your grown business! After all, we supposed to be grown after 18, right?

19) If any of the plans that don’t work, This should be seen and heard by EVERYONE: If there are things that might be difficult, stressful, unhealthy, not financially, and many others, Leave it alone! Find a Plan B, or what you know best and stick to that! Keywords: PLAN B!

Happy New Year!!

Time to archive 2018. Its time the year of the dog is to be archived in the Dog House. But of course, the living examples of voting, racism, protesting, and yet many others will linger on. Davante Adams became a new force in the wide receiver angle for the team. Blake Martinez, Kyle Fackrell stepped up the defensive side of the team, and Aaron Rodgers signed a 100,000.000 contract for the next couple of years to keep him in the green and gold until he turns 40. And the final analysis of my point of view: I must say that as a blogger in my own right, the creative side of this writing continues to thrive my ability to communicate. The fact of the matter is, my style is very much in its zone by itself. When the announcement came to me on Thanksgiving after I written the “Be Thankful” surpassing 1,000 posts that were like……where was this going? I am now extra motivated to do this even more.

If you the audience no matter where you’re from and if you checked out this blog beforehand or just now tuning in, thank you. Yes, this blog site has reached 1,000 plus posts and over 25,000 hits. But likewise, there is so much to discuss. Ideas like health, finance, employment, my city of Milwaukee, religion, social media and other avenues to explore. Even as a black man in America, I must write my stories.

Knowing that yes, writing 1,000 plus posts was and is, definitely hard work! It’s not easy at times, but when it’s on your mind to know and summarize of what’s going on in your community, that is when you get your mind jogging and get to work.

1,000 posts are good. But the best is still YET to come!

Happy New Year!

Onward to 2019.

We know that yes, Christmas is coming up. Matter of fact is coming so quick you’ll be watching “Its a Wonderful Life” over and over again like crazy. And Home Alone. And the Hallmark Christmas Shows. And those Christmas Commercials. Oh yeah, Christmas is coming with all the bells and whistles. Likewise: With all the still problems of Government Shutdowns, folks stealing packages and wrecking Black Santas, and other things that folks are somewhat conscious of in a demeaning manner, guess what: I’m scratching my head again!

What was the best Christmas Commercial of all time……IN Milwaukee?

So the infamous Scrooge of 45 is doing a Government Shut Down before the holiday. Man, what’s up with the bonuses?!

Oh, Hey December folks: Did we party or still partying?

There will be those who will try to dampen the spirit of Christmas of “exposing the truth” in all. Sigh…..so these are the boring folks with nothing to do or didn’t get enough attention growing up?

For us Sagittarians: did we shoot our arrows well in our Season of Centaurs?

What is the best Christmas Commerical right now?

Getting back to the best gifts, which was the best gift that many Wisconsin voters got?

Speaking of Scrooges: so Scott Walker had to pull a rigged stipulation to limit the governor powers of the next soon to be Governor Tony Evers and AG Josh Kaul. Anyone agree that its a farce against our democracy?
Ok, what was the best Christmas Commercial of all time in a national sense?

What crime was committed when Pastor John Gray presented his wife a Lamborghini SUV that cost about $200,000?!! What was the crime spree of this?! And this is for those who don’t do church or didn’t get the memo that the amount paid for the car WAS NOT USED BY THE CHURCH! Get your facts straight, instigators. You don’t know anything! And no, I’m not defending Pastor John Gray.

The only question I have in this so-called Government Shutdown: Where’s the Government Worker’s Christmas Bonuses that should have counted?

So Kevin Hart is not hosting next year’s Oscars all because of what he said years ago about the LGBTQ Community. Since when that became a stipulation of this? Look to my LGBTQ folks who have been hurt on that, how do you heal from this? While knowing that Kevin’s part had to be turned down?

Why do those on the international side look at American Scholarships knowing that they are NOT U.S. Citizens? Just asking for a future writer! Not to take away opportunities abound. But yes, they do have Scholarships for those who do Education abroad. Just saying.

Alright, why is Fortnite a thing now?

How do folks that are Anti-Tech going positive for Emails? Do they know that using Email is part of technology?

It’s funny though I already forgot that Christmas was fastly approaching. Has anyone felt that on a hilarious tip? We know it’s coming. Prepare for your minds to be warped!

When folks wrap the gifts, has the message already been told?

You know anyone that is gift giving is really a Santa Claus, right?

Folks, I’m getting mad at this: why many of you smell like weed in the store? I mean doesn’t matter if it’s at Walmart, Target, Pick N’ Save or any store or driving in the car and the smell from other vehicles draws a bad stench. Seriously folks, what is the real deal?!!! Clean up!

Is the WWE ready for another Christmas Eve Monday Night Raw?

Seriously asking, so is being an Introvert really getting a negative feeling of looking for jobs? As well as looking forward to the holidays?

Every company needs a Christmas Bonus rule. Yeah, I said it. What about yours?

Alright: who saw Aquaman? Or Bumblebee? Or both Aquaman and Bumblebee? Do not comment on what happens! No hints, nor clues, please. Keep it to yourselves!

Will there a be another Scratching my Head All this time blog before the year is out? Of course.

Is it really fronting to say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or Season’s Greetings? You realize that saying Happy Holidays – is a holy day. Run away, atheists.

This is the main question here: And this is for those who are so curious about it. What is it about folks looking at the Haka Dances on the internet? You know it’s not a new thing out now. Don’t even front.

Way before the Hip Hop of things merged with Christmas, which hip-hop song surged a spark for the Holiday? (Older heads, this may not be for you)

According to the United Methodist Church Website, you realized that folks have sung, signed, or played Silent Night for 200 years?

Oh, over in Oregon a black couple’s Black Santa Claus display was damaged. Racism as it’s finest. Does anyone realize that there are BLACK SANTAS that can be displayed, right?!

Easy question here: we heard the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (whom I’m just now hearing don’t judge), Run DMC, Boyz II Men (25 Years since Christmas Interpretations) The Temptations, James Brown, Jackson 5, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross, Vanessa Williams, and countless others who have given us memorable Christmas jams on rotation every season.

In with that: Who agrees with this list? Challenge Me!

  1. Christmas in Hollis – Run D.M.C.
  2. Boyz II Men – Silent Night/Let it Snow
  3. TLC – Sleigh Ride
  4. James Brown – Santa Claus goes straight to the Ghetto/Soulful Christmas

  8. The Temptations – Silent Night
  9. Donny Hathaway – This Christmas
  10. Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings – Just Another Christmas Song
  11. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra – Christmas Jam; Christmas/Sarajevo 12/24 (Instrumental)
  12. Vanessa Williams – What Child Is This?
  13. Otis Redding – Merry Christmas, Baby
  14. Paul McCartney – Wonderful Christmastime
  15. Darlene Love – Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
  16. Kurtis Blow – Christmas Rappin’
  17. Kenny G – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
  18. EnVogue – Silent Night
  19. Aretha Franklin – The Lord Will Make A Way
  20. New Edition – All I want for Christmas is my girl
  21. John Legend – What Christmas Means To Me (with Stevie Wonder)
  22. Nat King Cole – The Christmas Song
  23. Outkast – Players Ball (The Christmas Bells Version)
  24. Earth, Wind and Fire – December (Based on September)
  25. Whitney Houston – Deck The Halls/Silent Night

Oh, and the Movies you asked? My top ten.

  1. Home Alone
  2. Home Alone 2
  3. Scrooged
  4. Almost Christmas
  5. This Christmas
  6. Die Hard/Die Hard 2
  7. Lethal Weapon
  8. Friday After Next
  9. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
  10. A Christmas Carol

Speaking of Lethal Weapon: Why wasn’t that movie added to the Christmas Movies List?!!! It’s not just Die Hard!

Hey Grinches: you realize after taking or stealing packages off of porches, you’re being really dumb right now, correct? And houses are getting security cameras with doorbells! With Cops!

Which TV shows in history has been always a Christmas feel to it? Don’t act like you know. Even some black shows had a Christmas feel to it.

This needs to be asked: why the fascination of Michelle Obama’s $4,000 boots? Asking for a friend! We all love Michelle, but just asking. Except for the haters who just hate a Black Woman Former FLOTUS on fleek.

And the last and final question on point: Kids, are you ready for Santa? (Even though it’s a creation of imagination)

Merry Christmas to all, and to all: a good reading!

For all of the Sagittarius folks that had a birthday, still celebrating a birthday or will celebrate a birthday, Happy Birthday to all of us. Even happy birthday to me that just went around for the 42nd time on December 5th. You other zodiacs…..it’s not your turn, but you’re welcome to see this with a someone that is a Sagittarius. We still rock the 9th house with that royal purple and arrow glyphs.

How’s the Bows and Arrows holding up Sagittarians? We still aiming? If we are still aiming, keep aiming I have a news to share to talk about a thing called, a breakthrough. When we see a breakthrough or talk about a breakthrough, we are expecting a thing that is totally different than it was in a previous state. We want or need to expect a breakthrough to be better, level up, improve or just making a thing happen for the benefit of us or yourselves. No matter if it’s a new job or the same job. No matter if it’s dealing with a health illness, or being diagnosed with a health illness. No matter if it’s going through money issues, or having a chance to get that money in a way to invest, grow or getting that bonus from work for the holiday season. No matter what it is, the issue of breakthrough must be put on the table to gain that motivation to propel us to the next level!

9th house Brothers and Sisters, yes we want to get the breakthrough factor. We want it so bad that it needs to happen now. But however: It’s not going to happen instantly! Listen, now. In the era of fake news, alternative facts, folks getting all hypersensitive over Christmas Songs or animal idioms (wait until the next pre Christmas blog of my commentary on this), or even rushed Microwave ideas that drive us nuts, we must remind ourselves that we still need to seek the truth, be optimistic and still aim for the real targets that we should be aiming all the time every day!

In the past year, back in February, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. And the thing is I remember that feeling like many of you who are diabetic like, how has this happened? All those times I should have been going to the doctor getting checked up in all. And yet, I knew that most the time, I have to remember that African-Americans like myself could be at risk for Diabetes if not treated properly by eating the right foods and getting enough cardiovascular exercise 30 minutes a day. Now its been 10 months since my diagnosis and I have seemed to get the hang of it by trying to shoot the target of controlling diabetes every time I go on the treadmill or exercise bike or maybe just walking. And the breakthrough I want in this: I want to have an ability that this diagnosis will NOT STOP ME! Like many before me and with me, that I have things to do. Like getting a good paying job, do my best in what I do mostly and get away with it. Yes, I’m still single with no kids. AT 42! How many 42-year-olds right now can actually say that? Not many. And many are at my current new age that is married, have kids, or have an acquaintance that they trust. I don’t have that special acquaintance on my arm at the moment, but in order for me to have that as an example: there needs to be a “level of trust”. A simple LEVEL of trust! No judgment factors. No assumptions. Just let that person allow me to be me. If I want to go to a Milwaukee Bucks game on my own, I’ll do it. Hey, I just did it on my Birthday and came back in one piece. One the “breakthroughs” that was recently discovered that part of the reasons I explore on my own, is really my introversion. Yes, Sagittarius folks I am an Introvert. Matter of fact, I’m an Introvert Sagittarius, or a December Born Introverted Sagittarius. Found out about that about 3 Christmas holidays ago. And I studied and reviewed and I’m still exploring that voyage about the thought of being an introvert. After all Sagittarians, we all explore like Voyagers, right? It’s in our 9th house DNA to seek out new things and ideas for the better. And take our targets to lock on.

Sagittarians: this is our challenge between now and next year and every day: we need breakthroughs! We need breakthroughs in our daily lives that can be better all the time. Of course, it’s going to take a lot of work and dedication, but as you will hear in the next video from the Quietest Revolution: it can be done!

I got to say something about these tarot card reading videos. Amber Khan takes the tarot readings on a whole new level. For this video: it’s for us 9th House folks. She does a good job breaking it down in summary of what we go through and how to get to that next point for improvement and such. I know it’s a Tarot thing and it’s not a visit to the doctor’s office. But hey, what she said in this has some truths.

“Shoot your Shot!” as she would say.

We need to take our shots, focus more and have the ability to have that “can do mentality” of getting things done no matter what. We can do this. If it’s been on your mind, on your heart or whatever and if it’s been an idea that has clouded you for a long time, and all this time it’s drawing you over and over again in various issues: then it’s time! Many of us now, and as well as when the other Zodiacs take over the baton, we Sag folks need to stay in practice and be ready every time to prepare our bows and arrows when those things happen. The mindset will be a lot clearer and understandable and overall; it will be making a lot of sense!

And even if you fail and bounce back in your craft! Read this next:

This past summer, I had a chance to be a Summer Developer for my church. And the sole purpose was to supposed to gain more insight in our ongoing support of our Veterans. And I had a lot of barriers in the way. Dealing with family members in the hospitals and one of my first cousins being celebrated in death. All this year. And when it came for the evaluation, I was VERY EMBARRASSED. I got my (())# kicked. It was so stupid. And also, we had a guest pastor visiting us and hearing all this and even it was more embarrassing! I didn’t want to talk the next day. Nor I didn’t want to go to church at all that day. My Sagittarian butt should have been at home watching the Packer game. Oh yes, my pastor and I had a talk. And the thing is I busted my butt off what I could do in all to try to make this work. Of all that, in small details, it wasn’t enough. It was mostly a failure and not very good. Warning to us introverts in the church.

A month later, I was invited to a Church Homecoming Anniversary. And I had a thought previously that I should leave my Nikon camera at home in all, but I took it with me. When I got to the church, one of my Wisconsin State Senators, Lena Taylor was visiting and preparing to give the Keynote address. But BEFORE THAT HAPPENED: The Pastor and one of the Youth Reps approached me in greeting, and I told them both that I had no idea that Senator Lena Taylor was going to be here, and my Nikon Camera was in the car. So what is a Sag have to do? I went back to my car, got the camera and took the shots for the church’s homecoming. Even taking pics of the kids reading poems and many others. And even taking pics of my State Senator giving the keynote address. At the end of the night and several nights later, I had to say to myself: “Stephen, that is YOU! That church summer developer thing was crap! From now on, you stay taking pictures. And do what you ALWAYS do best!” And yet being a photo guy or a photographer per se is a Sagittarius Quality, and an Introvert Quality. I was reminded that my late Grandfather (who was not a Sagittarius, but more like a Virgo or Libra) that he once said:

“If are certain things that you can’t handle, leave it alone!”

That quote was introduced to me as a teen in all, BUT now in my 40’s, it’s the realization that there will be things that we will not do properly will be kept alone, and just focus on what we can do and level up better than before. My Sagittarian dudes and girls, that is a prime example of bouncing back. We got recuperative powers to elevate our comebacks! This is part of us that we should know and understand. And just like anything else, if one thing doesn’t work, try the things that can work to elevate your game whatever it might be. If you’re not a classic talker in public, be part of the listening audience that can give you the insight. If a certain job you tried is not working well and it’s new, go back to the old job that really stood you out in the beginning! And yet my Sagittarian blog readers, that will also keep our aims deadlocked!

In conclusion, as I close, that us “half human half horse arrow shooting fire sign on the third scale”:, we are reminded that things will go wrong and we must find a way to work with it. This is the second birthday without my dad since last year, and yes I’m still working on the things that need to be reasonable! We have to do it, and we need to take a chance and go for it. Like the lyrics in Rocky V, “Heart and Fire” – Go for it.

Sagittarius folks: We are rockers! We rock this business and we rock this game. Let’s go forth and continue to show the world and others, and us, who we are, and what we’re all about: A 9th house zodiac that will not die without a fight!

Happy Birthday, Sagittarians! And in the words of the Milwaukee Brewers, the 2018 NL Central Division Champs with Christian Yelich the 2018 NL’s MVP and a December 5th born Sag himself: “LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

So: Let’s Go, Sagittarius! We got Arrows and Bows to grind and fight every day!
