Just now ,this has been popped in my head. I’m scratching my head again about Milwaukee’s Big Gig. Summerfest is coming on June 27th this year kicking off #51. And yes, you fest goers need to get your gear on and being the attendees you are: Curious, interested, ready, happy, drunk, and yes going for a good time. Not exactly in that order. I’m not just scratching my head here. I’ve been scratching my head about this for a LONG WHILE! And yes, I used to work there. Oh, if you are a current Summerfest management worker, start taking notes.

Why there are folks wondering that Summerfest is 51 this year, and not 50? (Originally Summerfest actually had it’s planning ideas in 1966-67).

Summerfest as many knows attracts all kinds of music. How often does it attract Gospel music? For you the unfamiliar crowds, go to a Black Church to hear a gospel music choir or buy either Kirk Franklin or John P. Kee. Or Snoop Dogg’s Bible of Love. And by the way, I’m not a Gospel fan, but I’m doing you Gospel heads a favor here.

Why was it really hard to get Hip Hop/Rap acts to Summerfest, like in the last couple of years? Now it’s not a concern. And not many in the black community can’t relate to RATT or Whitesnake. Or even George Thorogood and the Destroyers. I’m just saying.

Is it really hard to get to know the free days? Especially if you coming home from work!

Just for the record, if you buy a piece of merch from the big gig, you know you are supporting local stuff, right? Just like the pins. I need a Summerfest pin from the 50th to my collection!

This is what Summerfest needs: Have a free networking day for the FORMER Employees. Can that be done?

What is that music thing with the headphones and folks are dancing around to DJ Music? Can Summerfest do this?

It appears that the change in music scenes around Summerfest go from old fashioned to the rave like style. Agree or disagree?

I need to ask this: when looking at the fireworks for the Big Bang, can DJ music be a factor? As well as fireworks on top of the US Bank Building like before and maybe…….The Northwestern Mutual Tower or the 833 Building?

Speaking of Black Music Month: by the way June is Black Music Month for those whom don’t know; who were the well known Black acts to perform at Summerfest? Local or famous?

And who is the latest well known now Black act to perform at Summerfest? Local or famous?

Should Summerfest have a free day for the American Legion Family? Like the free day for the Military and Veterans?

Wait a minute: This also came to mind. Summerfest needs an MPS Alumni Day and MPS Proud Day to support the Milwaukee Public Schools. Should this be a good thing? As well as other schools that are not MPS? And I’ll best many of the MPS Alumni probably got one of their gigs at Summerfest doing work long ago. Probably, still doing work!

Why hasn’t any member of the faith community offered or asked to do Communion to the patrons at Summerfest? Just a thought in asking. Not to bug those whom are not so religious. Look, Summerfest goer folks need prayer too. Getting to, in, and from the park!

Can Summerfest really put up a networking area for those looking for work for any job? Or just simply network with other businesses?

I don’t really have to ask this, but could Summerfest provide internships for those who want to get started in the management entertainment business? In any field? In any area? Plus ANY age?

Break Dancing, Dance Battles, Soul Train Lines, and/or Clean Rap Battles needs to happen at Summerfest. Who likes this idea? Consult the Rap/R&B Stations or True School.

Summerfest should need “throwback” sales. Like really. Is that possible?

Another crazy idea here; Summerfest needs drone photography. Yeah I said it. They’re everywhere. Who are the BEST drone pilots in the city that can do this?

We know The Hop is coming. That’s the Milwaukee Streetcar by the way. Will it be “Summerfest ready” say………2019?

Next question: This is for all of the Fraternities and Sororities. Should there be a Fraternity/Sororities Greek day?

Last question to think about: Should Summerfest have a “lifetime pass” for the patrons (or family members of patrons) whom been so loyal?

Later today, my survival tip on mastering the Big Gig is coming!

It’s time for me to blow up. Really. I like many African-Americans in this country have “had it up to here” with all this meaningless and pointless B.S. about the “cop calling Caucasians” and they know who they are telling them about certain black folks doing things like sitting down, waiting, sleeping in college areas, refusing to get up for white customers, and a bunch of lame excuses!

CALLOUT: For all those can I say this, and excuse my french: Shut your trap!

You heard me. We see you doing the same stuff almost and do we get on our phones calling the Po-Po? No!

For many weeks, and months, stop me if you read or heard these examples:

Sleeping while Black:

Or what about this concerning Cracker Barrel and it’s long history of discrimination against blacks?

https://thegrio.com/2018/04/25/cracker-barrel-black-veteran/

A 57 year old black Air Force Veteran was discriminated in restaurant all because of these things: One, the veteran Randy Freeman, 57 years old is a black male. That’s right. Black Male. And he is a business owner. Two, Cracker Barrel had a extended history of discriminating against black customers for years! That is not so shocking. Three: He was kicked out of the restaurant because the restaurant was accusing him of being rude to waitresses via the manager. In the ending result, he filed a federal lawsuit in the regarding the incident that occurred in April.

Let me switch gears on a “I’m calling you out on being quiet” story. I’m sure that many of you heard about the two Native American Teens were on a college campus and they were questioned by the College Police about who they were and what were they doing on campus looking suspicious?

First off, why were they being questioned because they didn’t talk on the tour?! That BS don’t fly right! It don’t. I’ll agree that even this example is nothing more than a reach for racism! Discrimination. Hating on. Get the message. Obviously they were let go and the University wanted them to come back for a shot at the campus. I wouldn’t take that offer because to me it’s a bribe. The college can beg all they want but if they don’t want to comeback, they shouldn’t. I wouldn’t set foot on that college ever again! They got exposed. My this is, go to a different school that you feel is best for you! Nothing else.

Now back to the black stories. This next one, I really don’t understand. This concerns the recent Community Service project of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

Everyone knows that Sigma Gamma Rho is the youngest sorority of the Divine Nine and they wear the royal blue and gold and known for being founded in 1922. Plus the mascot is the Poodle. And yes the Sorority has members of well known names like, Vivica A. Fox, MC Lyte, Martha Reeves, Deshauna Barber (Miss USA), Marylin McCoo, just to name a few figures. And yes like many in the NPHC it’s about service work We know the parties and gatherings and strollings. But the keyword in this is SERVICEWORK!

In Pennslyvania: a group of the sorority were cleaning up a portion of a highway 83 when they were interupted by a State Trooper claiming that they were fighting. Then the State Trooper asked them to show their ID’s. Showing ID’s?! All because they were cleaning the interstate. Really?! Eventually in the end, the Sorority was later resumed doing their services and the State Trooper was dismissed from the area of the conversation.

Now I need to ask this on the real: Was that necessary!? I’ve seen community service projects on the Freeways before. Why is this a concern?! And why does this have to be called in through the authorities?! This is so stupid! It’s clearly stupid because it’s a case of an overreach. Yeah I’m going there that it’s a matter of assumption and suspicion that it’s a vendetta that the ongoing so-called being watchful on black folks is now escalated. We all thought that being watched in stores is one thing. But when we are out in the community doing service duties, or waiting on a friend for a business deal, or hearing a convo during a tour like the Native American Teens encountered, or sleeping in a college commons area, and if the majority of that is black, then there is an assumption of trouble that might spark. Oh, but guess what: there was NO CRIME! NOTHING!

It’s like as the major crime of the century just been unleashed. What was the crimes exactly? Folks, all of this is nothing but one thing: fear. It’s all about fear or the assumption of fear that “Oh, he looks suspicious because he’s not talking to me. He needs to be on watch.” Or like “oh we need to be watching those folks. They need look strange with that activity!” What would happen if church folks of any denomination is doing picture taking for a book and they get questioned by the Police? They are doing ministry! Something bigger than themselves! Where’s the crime in that? I often heard this from one of my former teachers whom were white always say, “do something constructive with yourselves!” Yes white folks I’m sampling that notion from you since 1994! Well……what about it?

All of this is junk. Trying to steer away the actual thought. And it’s completely stupid! There are real crimes that happen everyday. And it’s usually the major ones that get you caught on the evening news or the local paper. Why not go after the bad guys who don’t this?

Enough.

Here’s a round 3 of the memes. I’m ready now.

Well you know it’s the truth, right? Not all Christians are evil.

And I assume this applies to everyday jobs and businesses we invest in, right?

Oh let go in on this, with all this going on with Starbucks, with black patrons, justice is coming. Am I right?

Wait a second, has it already started?

You realize that it wouldn’t work right?

Is our spelling really this worse? Don’t you dare blame the school system, blame the after thought!

Can many others actually say this? I’m just asking!

So the Bald Eagles don’t like 45? They mean though!

Um, black folks is this true? Is it really true? What if you move back, lol!

Let me ask: if that’s the case, what is really driving the Millennials away? Along with Gen X, and Gen Z?

So are we winning or really losing?

Ok, so Meek Mill is free from jail. What’s next to stay out of jail and will not go back being that other dude again that got him in jail though?

And many know that these other stores will not save us from the calamity. Agree?

So it’s all the churches fault about the stacks. What about those catered businesses though, and those clubs? Don’t start illing!

And the last thing to ask…..will the United Methodist Church for the next 50 years “stay woke” in it’s ministry and lessons to improve?

More to come!

I was going to write about the BET’s new show, Mancave and putting my spin on it. But I’m putting that on hold until I write this blog story regarding this subject: March For Our Lives.

I like everyone else, looked at the footages of our young folks in D.C. and locally here in Milwaukee protesting and having their say about the recent shootings that effected their schools and the relationship of their classmates. This wasn’t just an American issue, it was also worldwide. It was estimated in DC that over 800,000 plus came out to this rally/march to hear and to protest a substance that has been lingered for so long. Many of us, including me had lost someone we know personally to gun violence. I lost a cousin to gun violence in the summer of 2002 when Milwaukee was facing one of the worst summers at the time. My cousin was just 21 years old. A young black man going to college. And owned an upcoming Ice Cream Parlor. He was gunned down all because there were other folks wanting his car with the spinning rims on the side. He was killed near 47th and Locust and crashed his car near the corner of 47th and Center Streets not too far from Washington High School. All in Milwaukee. My family like many other families that lost loved ones were in horror about losing a young black male to gun violence. Weeks after my cousin’s death, the perps were tracked down and were caught for the crime. Previously, they were serving time.

But that was a personal matter. I know that the connection wasn’t all school related, but the relation of having someone close to you being killed is understandable. Now why am I putting this out on a day like today? Everyone again, has a story. But for this “March for our lives” event to voice our concerns of the recent tragedies in schools this needs NO relation. At all. NONE!

While I was looking at the young teens and some under 13 years old they seem to have a idea. An objective. These young players and girls have a momentum that would rocket them to the next level. They are the Z Generation from what I hear. And this Z Team is not pulling any punches when it comes to the things or ideas they are seeking to help curb Gun Control.

CALLOUT: And I need to say this: for all of you gun nuts who think that this March For Our Lives group is going to take away your firearms or pew pew pistols, they are not. NO ONE IS NOT TAKING AWAY YOUR GUNS! President Obama didn’t take them away and I’m surprised no one took away his Skeet Shooting Rifle! It’s kind of funny that many would believe that. But your firearms are still in your house.

Some of the speakers did spoke out on their “so far” experience. A few of them spoke were black. And some have expressed about not being at the age to give out activism like remarks. But adults, let us remind ourselves that the well known activists we know and read about, started their activism speeches as young as 5 years old. Don’t tell me that you overshot that. Folks like MLK and Rev. Al Sharpton done that. And even though that MLK is dead for nearly 50 years, and Al Sharpton is still living, their activism are lingered in memory and archived for the future. Grown folks, stop playing! It’s been done before. And it just happened again today! Those like Naomi Wadler who is only 11 years old. A 5th Grader speaking out for those whom are African-American girls that don’t make the front pages of newspapers in the nation. Nor the evening news on TV. And she’s from Alexandria, Virginia who lead a walkout via her Elementary School. The black girls she referenced were ranging from – Courtlin Arrington, Hadiya Pendleton and Taiyania Thompson just to name a few.

She also referenced very same City of Chicago that everyone talks about in a question “What about the black-on-black crime?” “What about Chicago?”  For black boys: same thing. As an example, Trevon Bosley gave his remarks by stating that “Everyday shootings are everyday problems!”  And the keyword is “everyday.”

Now we know that the “suspect supporter” of the lobbyists has the letters “NRA” on them. It’s seems that the NRA has been THE suspect. Why? I think we adults whom have back them and the 2nd Amendment allow this to happen! Of course that the 2nd Amendment has the right to bear arms or having a gun. We know this. BUT when was the last time that NRA has ever backed a thing called responsibility? I never heard the NRA fans like Dana Loesch or that black dude what’s his name, Colion Noir is it? (dude is selling out) never talked about the responsibility of the firearms their members and lobbyists must understood. They never spoke about Philando Castile’s murder in Minnesota nor recently, Stephon Clark’s murder by the Sacramento Police in his grandparent’s backyard! Where you at, NRA? Backing up Trump?! Don’t be surprised if the Gen Z Crew turns that age to vote, get involved in politics/activism and vote out all those who held down that red wall of pain that many fought for so long to take down! Be warned, NRA. They coming. And those who back them, you might be in the wave of truth of getting out of way. Again, these kids now are NOT PLAYING! And they are teaching us and reminding us of our accountable actions!

Many of us in the Baby Boomers, Gen X and yes you Millennial folks, we’ll be in those nursing stations getting someone to wash our butts as we get older and relieve our sickness and diseases to cure our bodies. OK subject off. Not good. But you know what I’m saying.

From David Hogg to Emma Gonzalez and many in between, they were the premiered speakers and survivors and we grown folks had to listen to them. That’s what they wanted. They wanted to speak and they did. But the surprising speaker of all of them was just 8 years old. And she has a legacy to maintain for the next era of the name King. Yes, Yolanda Renee King – MLK’s and Coretta’s only Grand Daughter, Niece of Rev. Bernice King and Dexter King, and daughter of MLK III came out and spoke that she has a dream that enough is enough!

This is King’s Granddaughter speaking. Now I know that she’s only a preteen in elementary school. But after her speaking part of going to be a great generation, there is no telling, she is just beginning to spread her future activism. But I hope that she not only does that, but also maintains the namesake of her family to restore!

Now I want to address all this mess about are the Parkland High School Students are being exploited for all this protesting. My question is, who is exploiting them? Who?

All the grown folks who say that, shut up! They to me are addressing a concern about the violence in the schools recently. There was violence of guns in the Milwaukee Public Schools not too long ago. Were the current students of MPS being exploited about that? When many of us were in high school in the 90’s or 80’s, now as ALUMNI were we exploited with high school violence in our schools not caring?! Yes I went there. And many of us never used the letters “NRA” back then. Unlike now. I don’t think nor believe that the students are being exploited. Seriously, who’s exploiting them?! Who?! One thing about all of this, folks want to stir up stuff that is not true. If that’s the case, they wouldn’t be doing the marching or speaking out period. And their parents would NOT allow them to attend. But wait a minute: this is a country with freedom of expression right? So that means that our young folks can’t speak about the concerns that they witnessed? Many of us grown folks are perpetrating. And many are doing that by the keyboards who think they know it all, but don’t do the homework. Yes grown people I’m talking about us! Or many of us that want to rant with no proof.

Final say: even though that this march is a one day affair of open expression of our youth, it shouldn’t stop today! This needs to be an everyday subject! Everyday! Not just every March 24th, take a photo, say/hear the speeches, performances and go home. I want all the schools to really take heed about what is happening here. And yes this does include the parents! And also the communities, the fraternities, the sororities, the churches, neighborhoods, and many other groups, clubs and organizations that really cares about the safety and well being of our (and I mean OUR) kids! If you don’t have children like me and you’re just looking at this March and rally, I say back up the kids in your churches and community centers/organizations. Women: back up the girls. And as far as the Men (whether you have kids or not) we need to back up our Sons, Nephews, Cousins, Grandsons, Godsons, and young wards/male students who look up to us as head pillars in the community and go to the schools everyday, while we work the clock! Women: same thing if you have sons and no daughters. Men, vice versa with daughters.

I have a message to the Generation Z crew that were active today: I hear you. We all hear you. Let’s do the work to get you started. After all, you are the next players to lead.

Oh, you know I had to do it. Last year I did this and got rave reviews. But I kept it real. Last year for Black History Month, I scratched my head. Now this year, its a repeat. With new updated questions that kept my head scratching since. But for this, it’s for Black History Month 2018. Buckle up! I’m not pulling no punches!

Question: is this statement still relevant? With no substance? Let’s be real. Seriously!

BET has a new show for the black brothers called Mancave. Yes, a black man’s show featuring Tank, Jeff Johnson, Kosine and Slink. They talk about the current affairs of news that goes on. But I have a question: why are you females are watching it? Y’all got Sister Circle on TVONE! No females in the Mancave. I’m just saying!

Is black news really missing NewsOne Now since it got canceled?

Why are folks late reading stuff? Especially about black history? And what I have written?

If Black History is really supposed to be “American History”, why there are some school districts don’t want to hear our history?

Spoiler Alert: Not all Black History is American History! It’s not! Other countries have a Black History too. (Canada, England, France, Italy, Jamaica, Haiti, etc.) Any questions?

Attention Black Authors: we write about our history as well our stories. Past and Present. Does it really matter we do it more?

Again: if we are to supposed to acknowledge our black history everyday, why don’t we at times? Oh were at the lines waiting for the Air Jordans to drop or non big issues that we forget that is meaningless at times. Or were just not engaged!

Black Churches: we have a lot of black history to share up. From the founding of our churches to community involvement. Does it still matter today despite of those hating or assuming that we’re just about the money or praying in circles/tongues? Or going out to eat after the sermon?

Every February 7th, it’s National Black HIV Awareness Day. Want to know the reason?

This week was the start of the original Negro History Week that was the prelude to Black History Month currently. Some ask what was the reason? They should know by now.

Do Black Superheroes Matter? We know Black Panther is coming and Black Lightning is on TV. Either way, black superheroes are winning.

Does Black Archiving Matter? Ask yourself if you are a black historian of any kind.

Does Black Employment Matter? And I’m not talking about just owning your business!

10 years ago, am I the only one followed the momentum when Barack Obama was gaining to be the first black president?

For my Alumni Black Educators and Family! Does forming or being involved in a Black Alumni Chapter really matters to us? Especially at the PWI Schools that have or had minor population of black students with Black Student Unions? By the way: ALL COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES who don’t have an Black Alumni Chapter need to start one!

For my Military Black Families and Black Veterans, and Families of Black Veterans: Do we matter? After all, many of our Fathers, Grandfathers, Uncles, Aunts, Mothers, Cousins, Grandmothers, etc all have a history of serving in Uniform that is part of the tradition since the American Revolution. Even in times when America didn’t love us back! Keep up other folks.

I need to ask this: How many African-American Sons and Daughters right now are apart of the American Legion Family? I need to ask this for real! And how many actually don’t know what the American Legion Family is whom have or had Veterans in the family that lived or died?

For those saying Black Future Month, you know the things you doing now will be history, right? Not trying to spoil the parade here.

So folks want to make a joke about Black History Month as a punch line to pop off at the mouth for hate. Ummm…..so many don’t do it around Hispanic Heritage Month or Women’s History Month?

Recently in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, one my local journalist commented about former Interim Mayor Marvin Pratt about the city not having a full term mayor of African-American decent. If you know Milwaukee historically, majority of the Mayors are white and known to have popularity. Why does Milwaukee’s problem with black mayors of ideas have a concern? And the city is 172 years old with a segregated past and present.

When ABC’s Scandal is done, and it’s the last season, what ranking will the show be on the best list concerning black television?

There was a indication of Black Slave traders that sold their own into slavery and also managed the slaves. True or False?

Who’s looking forward watching Black Olympians in the Winter Games? You know they are in Korea. Oh, and by the way: Shani Davis is in competition.

Here in Wisconsin, one candidate of the democrats is African-American named Mahlon Mitchell. Could he be the man to take out Scott Walker? Better vote up, Wisconsin!

In Wisconsin: what is the Black Community’s real response to Foxconn? Mainly for those who don’t have their own transportation!

If you are woke and black, you need to see this clip over and over again. Why you ask?

It seems that every year that those who say “I’m black every month” is probably bored around Black History Month. What are the reasons? Are we not engaged enough? What is the problem? We still don’t know everything as we know some to say at least.

For my Black Motorcycle Riders: is the Iron Elite still on point for Harley-Davidson? And are you coming to Milwaukee for HD’s 115th Anniversary in the Summer?

You non-Black folks: as you explore Black History, you realize that not every black folk is considered a thug or a N*gger, right? Many of us were raised way better than that.

Which current African-Americans in the companies is the best OWNER and Supervisor right now that is making history? And got the inspiration from those that MADE HISTORY?

Who were and are the best UNSUNG Blacks Heroes that never got any recognition that deserved recognition right now?

Bonus question:  In honor of those whom are not here with us, which of our Black Ancestors were a beacon to have us move forward in life and career?

And the last question: yes we know this question, do we believe that Black Excellence is still available and hopeful?

Happy Black History Month!

Always.

MASSIVE SOCIAL MEDIA CALLOUT AGAIN LIKE LAST YEAR: Can we PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, JESUS, ALLAH, BUDDHA or SCIENTOLOGY: use the “You’re” word on Facebook correctly as well as other forms of Social Media? Like for example, “You’re It!” Not “Your it”. Or “If you don’t follow me on so and so, you’re not welcome here no more. Not “If you don’t follow me on so and so your not welcome here no more.” We need to respell and check our words, folks! – And no stop blaming the Public Schools systems! Blame the person, you.

Know any good Doctors that take in folks that know patients families that know them well? Besides those Cigma commercials?

Will many in the black community support (REALLY SUPPORT) black owned businesses that do follow the protocol?

How many black churches will attend Watch Night Services on New Year’s Eve? It’s WAY legendeary than Rockin’ Eve!

Did you support your Alumni this year (not just high school, but college and universities also)?

Why are many of us are NOT EDUCATED that well when it comes to health? Hint it’s not just the men folk here. Women you in this also.

Will there be a “in house online DJ” that will spin the sounds from the crib while many of us are at the house on NYE? THINK ABOUT THAT

CALLOUT: There were bigots on Social Media made names this year. Even those who was at Charlottesville . Who will NOT have a job in 2018?

Any Uber or Lyft Drivers will be on stat on NYE making money?

Any Photohogs and DroneHogs will be on stat making money on NYE?

Will many graduate in 2018 as well as going into the schools in 2018?

If those are really conscious about being pro this and pro that, what about being pro Alumni?

Will Ronda Rousey comeback strong……..in the WWE?

Who used a fitbit this year? Or any fit to walk to burn calories?

How many plan to do something daring in 2018?

How many will do the things that they put off in the previous years and actually do it this year?!

What is that one song you want to end your 2017? And the song you want begin with your 2018?

And the last thing I have to ask: I will say this to ask humbly, will you vote in 2018?

Happy New Year!

Let’s get the 2018 thing started.

By now, the final leg to Christmas is here. Many are out getting gifts or making that donation popping. But whatever it is, it’s almost the day in which grandma’s house will be visited, light speed to the tree will be at full throttle force. The anticipation of the excitement once again that this Holy Day of Jesus’ birth is mysterious, but is the greatest holiday of all time.

But like before: I still got questions and scratching my head!

For all of us December born males, does this matter? #12thMonthRockers

il_340x270-972723658_5ydx

Does us in the Sagittarius game have a plan that things will be better in 2018? Keep slinging those arrows.♐♐♐♐

Did I had a good birthday on December 5th? Possibly, yes.♐

OK hold up: who is really watching and hating the Hallmark Christmas Movies?🎄❄🎄❄

Again I need to ask, are there other stories to read besides the same ol stories? Time to bust the bubble and extend the homework. Literally.

Not lame: but I only see a few African Americans in these Hallmark Christmas Shows. Why is that?

In history, the Green Bay Packers are so Dangerous in December. But not this year as much. Why?!!!!

Who really gets the Christmas Gifts: those who have nothing newborns or those who have been in the struggle?

Will fake news actually disappear from Facebook, Google or any other news outlet that has real news like last year?

What was the really best stories that captured 2017? More on that later.

With all the snow jobs lately, should there be a reduction in taxes? And should there be snow cycles for fun and at a cheap price? Still waiting for the snow cycle!

Is DirecTV Now still holding up well? I may need to subscribe.

With some of the black population supporting Donald Trump, what will be outcome of what they think they might get, knowing that part of it will get screwed later on?

With all the Christmas stuff now coming down percentage-wise, is it wise NOW to get them for next year? Think about it!

Question: They say that the females have to take over for the men for doctor appointments. My question is, are these the same type of females that really hate men? Be real honest ladies.💊

Last year many of you black queens say you love us black kings, right? Can you takes us out to lunch or dinner or a movie or have an appreciation day that YOU will be paying? Don’t just say you love us kings, show it!🍴

I know this might be old, but what is it about black women or certain type of black women who have this inner hate on black men who date other races? I mean I’m just asking what is the hold up on it? And where is the “hate” coming from? Generational? Cliques?

Many should realize that Canada does have racism like America almost, right?

Still asking: Should the Greater Milwaukee Area get a Hard Rock Café (not the Casino due to Walker’s dumb decision) in order to get Milwaukee on the map more? THINK on this Milwaukee. Hate going to other cities for the Hard Rock fun!

Best Christmas Carol?

Best Holiday Movie?

What is real hate against Obamacare?

By the end of 2017, will you really have all those 2018 resolutions in tact, knowing that many of us WILL NOT due all the things on that list? (lose weight, stop smoking, find this and that…..)

You do realize that when new years comes, you have to start filing taxes right? Keywords: TAX TIME BALLERS! 💸

Oh, many should know, but you know that 2018 is a midterm voting year, right?

Why is the Salvation Army having a hard time with the kettle donations?

So there are those still are at “war” on Christmas. For what pry-tell reason why? Bitterness perhaps?

Hanukkah is done. Christmas will be done and Kwanzaa will finish it by New Years Day. Questions?

Will us Sagittarius folks keep slinging the arrows everyday? Now that our season once again is in the books! ♐♐♐♐♐♐

Did Christmas did you well?

For the holiday jobs folks, how well did you do?

OK last question: and this is for all the cold snow haters. If you are one of the many that hate cold weather so much, then why you don’t say much about………Hot weather? Just wait until Spring/Summer 18. I’ll hold you to that.

So, yet again: Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Feliz Navidad to all. 🎄❄🎄❄🎄❄🎁

Men of the world: we have a day. International Men’s Day. Today is the 19th of November in which we acknowledge us. Our man angle in which we know. Of course that it’s not just about our man angle. We acknowledge our accomplishments, our results, end what we do and want to do in our community and families.

And yes, we probably read about the butt hurt comments about a day like today from feminists who subsequently feel that having a men’s day set aside is meaningless. Or just being sexist because a few men in society broke rules about respecting the thought of you females that we encounter everyday. And many you feel that having this day for us in the man’s world is a flat out joke.

So why is a International Men’s Day is somewhat needed? You might have seen this on Social Media today.

That’s just one sample. Like many of you females, we men folk got concerns like you. We are immune to suicides, domestic violence, violent crimes, and face health concerns. We know that issues of Prostate Cancer, Colon Cancer and many other health concerns are at our heads. And some of us don’t really have those things called Doctors to trust. And as far as Domestic Abuse: many of the men have been victims according to the graphic. THIS IS NO LIE! You talk about men being the Aggressors which is true. But if you have abusive women who commit crimes physically, sexually, mentally, psychologically, financially, and yet spiritually, guess who becomes the VICTIM? Yes, MEN!

Years ago, I went to a Men’s Meeting that dealt with the subject of feeling broken. And some of the items I listed were examples of men getting to a point in which these problems are posted this is what we go through at times. Even there were many times I felt broken. Not just because of other men. But also females too. I had females attacking me all because of my education, being bullied growing up because of my size or being quiet. Or body shaming because of big noses or whatever. But at the AGE OF 11, that all changed. My late uncle taught me self-defense (Kung Fu) and that energized a thing called self confidence. Mind driven. And more laser focused. If you went to school in the 80’s and 90’s, you know what I’m talking about. Take notes, women! And many of you women had our fathers historically when they were younger and defenseless telling them that “If you don’t go to that school to beat that person, I’m going to beat you!” But what did that do? Fill in the blank.

Back in the day, when a dude hits you or whatever, you hit them back! That was the law in the Schools. I don’t give a care if it involved those ribbing on you. If that person is ribbing on you and will not stop, you will and must FIGHT BACK! If it’s against a girl or chick, you sit on them. Oh, they’ll use the speech, “I’m a woman” or “You not supposed to hit a female.” What are you supposed to do, man? Either take the hit or SIT ON THEM. Make them miss, blindside them without violence. Out Psych them! Use mindgames. Forget about all the so-called “cuffing season”, It’s mind-games season. Stay one step ahead! And you wonder about why there are so many broken relationships. Stay away from that Single folks! I see all this. Read about it. And you want this to happen to a guy who has a squeaky clean record of not in abusive relationships to get into one? I’ll pass. And all that mess you thought about back in High School is a joke now. Admit the guilt. It’s all BS rumors.

You ask again: why a need for a “International Men’s Day?” Why a day that many believe that a day is set aside for the Men where Men are talked about everyday? And yes, women you get your day in March and everyday. The problem is, we get all these days on the calendar, and the thing is: half of the time we complain. We whizz and moan. Admit it. But on the other hand we do praise those who get the recognition and those who left out, get forgotten. Oh, yes we talk about the negative about us dudes, but MANY FORGET that there are MEN (especially men of color) who are doing positive things in this world besides going to work! Besides being the head of the church. Besides being a leader. There are men whom are active on their health, their finance, their place of employment, their place of volunteerism, their act of valor and reflection of valor, their act of raising families, their act on raising or educating children and many other manly deeds and objectives. You have to ask, where are these MEN right now? Where? Women: don’t get an attitude about there are no good men around, maybe because you have been looking or reading about it negatively! Need to say it. And no it’s not a thing about hooking up. Not today, Satan! Not all men are thugs, the cavemen butt jokes or many other things that many been saying since it’s probably generational, or when that same woman who was 13 years old got picked on in school. And been hating men since then. Let’s be real about this women: not every man is not after your bra and panty straps to get the digits and hashtags. Being honest here.

Another reason why a need for a International Men’s Day besides the other stuff I mentioned is to have a day that we can just be appreciated for the things that are UNAPPRECIATED! I do things in the City of Milwaukee that are UNAPPRECIATED! No matter if it’s Election Inspector Jobs, Photos, computers, or various skills I put on my resume. Even though they are all some what good, it’s UNAPPRECIATED! Even me going to my Alumni Outings and Scholarship Meetings. UNAPPRECIATED! I’m saying this as a black man in America. On point. And you women should know what I’m talking about. If you have NOT appreciated the thought that your Man, Brother, Son, Grandson, Nephew, Uncle, Cousin, or any other Man dude in your life that does all this behind the scenes and get NO appreciation for it: You better start. 5 years ago, when we were saying goodbye to Whitney Houston: one of her former bodyguards once said that “Give flowers to those while they’re living!” We know that women love flowers.
CALLOUT: Men, we need our flowers while we are living right now! Don’t wait until the casket drops to get our flowers (seems to be common with Women at times). Get the flowers right now! Get appreciated right now. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!

Now this is my view of a International Men’s Day. Not just “men being men”. But men doing men things. Real things. And setting the tone for our younger men to grow and raise. Let’s do this not just on this International Men’s Day but EVERYDAY! We know we got issues and concerns. We know we got our health nagging talks. Race, Class, Social Status, Interest, and many other Joys and Concerns on a man angle. Just to keep an eye out. That’s all.

About that “Movember” mustache thing, you know it started with voting right?

By now, many of us have had our Halloween Decorations looking so-so scary. We decorated our houses and community centers so spooky that we need to change the game for next year in Halloween 2018. Which we have to do before we vote in the Midterms. And yes, we had to put up our costumes on wax to think again about next year as well. Plus I had a costume that I had to sample from my father’s work wear to pay tribute to him.

BUT………I have to address my black Kings and Queens in regarding this thing of Halloween, Christians, Ebony Magazine, and certain thing about “Pagan Holidays”. Let me go in on my people. Even though I love my blackness, honor my ancestors and also fly the red, black and green in the heart like the red white and blue. I’m reading the article online from Ebony Magazine (via Facebook)  the latest one that had an article with Meagan Good dressed like Catwoman. Oh, by now that everyone knows, she married a pastor earlier this year per se and many questioned about her choice celebrating All Hallow’s Eve in a FREAKING COSTUME! Really?!

Then I went to this BallersAlert Instagram Page. And when I was view the page in term of Meagan Good doing her, all these comments mainly coming from those whom are considered “Christian” and being black and proud had this remorse of shaming her just because she’s a Christian celebrating this “so-called” scary evil holiday known as Halloween.

For all of my black readers whom think they know everything about Halloween or having this negative stat of pagan holidays: SPELL IT! Spell Pagan. Let me school you on this: Do you know what Halloween really means? It really means Comes from the adage of All Hallow’s Eve in which leads into a holiday called All Saint’s Day. Heard of All Saint’s Day? You should! If you called out a name, or remembered a person that recently passed, that is part of it! If you go to church, you have should have heard the thought about All Saints Day, PERIOD! But what does that have to do with Halloween? Part of that is another meaning that you probably never got the knowledge of: Holy Evening.  THAT IS WHAT HALLOWEEN REALLY MEANS! It’s a HOLY EVENING.

According to Wikipedia: As you should know –

The word Halloween or Hallowe’en dates to about 1745 and is of Christian origin. The word “Hallowe’en” means “hallowed evening” or “holy evening”. It comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows’ Eve (the evening before All Hallows’ Day). In Scots, the word “eve” is even, and this is contracted to e’en or een. Over time, (All) Hallow(s) E(v)en evolved into Hallowe’en. Although the phrase “All Hallows'” is found in Old English “All Hallows’ Eve” is itself not seen until 1556.

Oh wait, there’s more for you Christians:

Christian influence (via Wikipedia)

Today’s Halloween customs are also thought to have been influenced by Christian dogma and practices derived from it. Halloween is the evening before the Christian holy days of All Hallows’ Day (also known as All Saints’ or Hallowmas) on 1 November and All Souls’ Day on 2 November, thus giving the holiday on 31 October the full name of All Hallows’ Eve (meaning the evening before All Hallows’ Day).[69] Since the time of the early Church,[70] major feasts in Christianity (such as Christmas, Easter and Pentecost) had vigils that began the night before, as did the feast of All Hallows’.[71] These three days are collectively called Allhallowtide and are a time for honoring the saints and praying for the recently departed souls who have yet to reach Heaven. Commemorations of all saints and martyrs were held by several churches on various dates, mostly in springtime.[72] In 609, Pope Boniface IV re-dedicated the Pantheon in Rome to “St Mary and all martyrs” on 13 May. This was the same date as Lemuria, an ancient Roman festival of the dead, and the same date as the commemoration of all saints in Edessa in the time of Ephrem.[73]
The feast of All Hallows’, on its current date in the Western Church, may be traced to Pope Gregory III’s (731–741) founding of an oratory in St Peter’s for the relics “of the holy apostles and of all saints, martyrs and confessors”.[74][75] In 835, All Hallows’ Day was officially switched to 1 November, the same date as Samhain, at the behest of Pope Gregory IV.[76] Some suggest this was due to Celtic influence, while others suggest it was a Germanic idea,[76] although it is claimed that both Germanic and Celtic-speaking peoples commemorated the dead at the beginning of winter.[77] They may have seen it as the most fitting time to do so, as it is a time of ‘dying’ in nature.[76][77] It is also suggested that the change was made on the “practical grounds that Rome in summer could not accommodate the great number of pilgrims who flocked to it”, and perhaps because of public health considerations regarding Roman Fever – a disease that claimed a number of lives during the sultry summers of the region.[78]

By the end of the 12th century they had become holy days of obligation across Europe and involved such traditions as ringing church bells for the souls in purgatory. In addition, “it was customary for criers dressed in black to parade the streets, ringing a bell of mournful sound and calling on all good Christians to remember the poor souls.”[80] “Souling”, the custom of baking and sharing soul cakes for all christened souls,[81] has been suggested as the origin of trick-or-treating.[82] The custom dates back at least as far as the 15th century[83] and was found in parts of England, Flanders, Germany and Austria.[53] Groups of poor people, often children, would go door-to-door during Allhallowtide, collecting soul cakes, in exchange for praying for the dead, especially the souls of the givers’ friends and relatives.[83][84][85] Soul cakes would also be offered for the souls themselves to eat,[53] or the ‘soulers’ would act as their representatives.[86] As with the Lenten tradition of hot cross buns, Allhallowtide soul cakes were often marked with a cross, indicating that they were baked as alms.[87] Shakespeare mentions souling in his comedy The Two Gentlemen of Verona (1593).[88] On the custom of wearing costumes, Christian minister Prince Sorie Conteh wrote: “It was traditionally believed that the souls of the departed wandered the earth until All Saints’ Day, and All Hallows’ Eve provided one last chance for the dead to gain vengeance on their enemies before moving to the next world. In order to avoid being recognized by any soul that might be seeking such vengeance, people would don masks or costumes to disguise their identities”.[89]
It is claimed that in the Middle Ages, churches that were too poor to display the relics of martyred saints at Allhallowtide let parishioners dress up as saints instead.[90][91] Some Christians continue to observe this custom at Halloween today.[92] Lesley Bannatyne believes this could have been a Christianization of an earlier pagan custom.[93] While souling, Christians would carry with them “lanterns made of hollowed-out turnips”.[94] It has been suggested that the carved jack-o’-lantern, a popular symbol of Halloween, originally represented the souls of the dead.[95] On Halloween, in medieval Europe, fires served a dual purpose, being lit to guide returning souls to the homes of their families, as well as to deflect demons from haunting sincere Christian folk.[96][97] Households in Austria, England and Ireland often had “candles burning in every room to guide the souls back to visit their earthly homes”. These were known as “soul lights”.[98][99][100] Many Christians in mainland Europe, especially in France, believed “that once a year, on Hallowe’en, the dead of the churchyards rose for one wild, hideous carnival” known as the danse macabre, which has often been depicted in church decoration.[101]
Christopher Allmand and Rosamond McKitterick write in The New Cambridge Medieval History that “Christians were moved by the sight of the Infant Jesus playing on his mother’s knee; their hearts were touched by the Pietà; and patron saints reassured them by their presence. But, all the while, the danse macabre urged them not to forget the end of all earthly things.”[102] This danse macabre was enacted at village pageants and at court masques, with people “dressing up as corpses from various strata of society”, and may have been the origin of modern-day Halloween costume parties.[94][103][91][104]
In parts of Britain, these customs came under attack during the Reformation as some Protestants berated purgatory as a “popish” doctrine incompatible with their notion of predestination. Thus, for some Nonconformist Protestants, the theology of All Hallows’ Eve was redefined; without the doctrine of purgatory, “the returning souls cannot be journeying from Purgatory on their way to Heaven, as Catholics frequently believe and assert. Instead, the so-called ghosts are thought to be in actuality evil spirits. As such they are threatening.”[99] Other Protestants maintained belief in an intermediate state, known as Hades (Bosom of Abraham),[105] and continued to observe the original customs, especially souling, candlelit processions and the ringing of church bells in memory of the dead.[69][106]
Mark Donnelly, a professor of medieval archæology, and historian Daniel Diehl, with regard to the evil spirits, on Halloween, write that “barns and homes were blessed to protect people and livestock from the effect of witches, who were believed to accompany the malignant spirits as they traveled the earth.”[107] In the 19th century, in some rural parts of England, families gathered on hills on the night of All Hallows’ Eve. One held a bunch of burning straw on a pitchfork while the rest knelt around him in a circle, praying for the souls of relatives and friends until the flames went out. This was known as teen’lay.[108] The rising popularity of Guy Fawkes Night (5 November) from 1605 onward, saw many Halloween traditions appropriated by that holiday instead, and Halloween’s popularity waned in Britain, with the noteworthy exception of Scotland.[109] There and in Ireland, they had been celebrating Samhain and Halloween since at least the early Middle Ages, and the Scottish kirk took a more pragmatic approach to Halloween, seeing it as important to the life cycle and rites of passage of communities and thus ensuring its survival in the country.[109]
In France, some Christian families, on the night of All Hallows’ Eve, prayed beside the graves of their loved ones, setting down dishes full of milk for them.[98] On Halloween, in Italy, some families left a large meal out for ghosts of their passed relatives, before they departed for church services.[110] In Spain, on this night, special pastries are baked, known as “bones of the holy” (Spanish: Huesos de Santo) and put them on the graves of the churchyard, a practice that continues to this day.[111]

Makes sense now? Keywords: HOLY EVENING!

Now from my understanding that the Holy Evening Holiday may have some pagan roots. Halloween has some pagan connections but it’s not entirely EVIL! When folk think of “Pagan Holidays” they think it’s something that is demonic or trickery. REALLY? Not all holidays are “Pagan Holidays.” If your wedding or a loved ones funeral is considered a “Pagan Holiday” filled with evil or demonic implications, then I guess you haven’t been to one. Or you don’t know enough! That is the problem today, why do many feel (espcially in the black community) that pagan holidays are evil, knowing that there are some “Pagan Holidays” are good? You got Christmas coming up in celebrating the Birth of Jesus, and many folks are calling that being a “Pagan Holiday”: Many of you got it all twisted. Not all Pagan Holidays are evil .

CALLOUT:  Is Juneteenth Day a Pagan Holiday?

Is many of our holidays that we started (KWANZAA) is considered a Pagan Holiday?

Is waving the Red Black and Green on Marcus Garvey’s Birthday or any BLACK HOLIDAY is considered a Pagan Holiday? Oh, you don’t hear me.

Why I am saying this? Why I am calling out the gossiperes to this manner? Real simple, LACK OF KNOWLEDGE! That is what this is. All that so called opinons that man of you spilled on Social Media makes no sense at all. And I’m assuming that BallerAlert wanted your reaction. They really don’t care about it. Just to make money and hurt your feelings.

Despite what Meagan Good does in her spare time should not be a concern on anyone. Even Black Christians! Now I’m a Black Christian myself and I do celebrate and decorate the Holy Evening thing of Halloween on my house. And don’t come at me with all that “pagan holiday opinionized mess” that black christians shouldn’t be celebrating this holiday. That goes double for the non-church folk! If any christian celebrates Halloween without any harm or concern, it shouldn’t be a problem! Many of us need to reread the Lord’s Prayer featuring the words: Hallowed be thy name. The Keyword is Hallowed. That word again.

Learn it.

Black Folks, it’s just Halloween. Chill out!

For all of my readers in Houston: Stay strong. We know what’s going on with the situtation with Hurricane Harvey. I know many of you had lost homes, or couldn’t recover things that were damaged or irreplacable. We all know. If that were to happen in Milwaukee, you would do the same for us. So Houston: as well as my family folks in Texas, we will keep you in prayer and thoughts as you recover from the Hurricane. As I said the night of my father’s wake: Stay in the fight!

Now: I’m going to shift gears here and talk about false prophets and false info that can be a contagious bug. (dont’ worry I’ll talk about Michael The Black Man next) Yesterday as we were reading about the Hurricane in Texas, and seeing all the flooding that has plagued the city of Houston and the surrounding areas. Yes we manily had that reactionary thought about “Oh we need to pray for our folks in Houston…” And like many of you, I got relatives and friends in Texas that are residing in the state now. Mostly from Milwaukee. And yes, they are happy that they found something or somewhere to live. That’s them. But as I was reading about the Lakewood Church in Houston, many had to go in about Joel Osteen and this story about his church not opening up, all about the money, he don’t care about your feelings and many of the “myths” that many had to bring up about his situtaion and his church. Oh, and lumping all the Churches and Christians in a big lump of being hyprocites, and well: stuck up. That same story over and over again on Social Media that had folks all in this uproar. Now for all of the Joel Osteen fans outhere, I ‘m not a fan nor a follower of Joel Osteen. Never have been. Not willing to try. Never bought his books, his website downloads, never watched his tele-evagelist stuff on TV. By the way I’m not a fan of Televangaelist anyway.

While all this story about his church was being flooded or somewhat wet, many had to call him a liar, and pupit pimp or many other names I can’t even say here. But many of us who don’t live in Houston or never paid attention to his material, WE DONT KNOW SH*T. We don’t! Many of us had to lay claim that he is just like many other the preachers who get infront of the congregations every Sunday to preach the word, are thinking all about the money after being collected in the plates and taking it to the banks.

Well to all of my non-believers in Christ: What else do you know? I can wait.

In an updated story that Joel Osteen stated that he never closed his doors. And did state that his church will be open for those who need a place to recover. So when I read that statement, I had to ask where all this overreaction came from, especially from those who are NON-BELIEVERS who are not so very informative when it comes to stories of being heard from other people that they assume it’s true. People let’s cut the BS right now! For all of the non-belivers who think that all churches and pastors are in this lump pot of hypocrites: stop it.  Not many of us who are church weekly attendees are like that. Many of you know us way back since sunday school and choir practice that were positive folks. And many of us still have that today. So why are YOU worried about the church opening doors that you haven’t tried since you left?! And futhermore, your connections at the clubs or joints that you spend on Saturday nights and you know who they are, what are they doing? Are they helping? It’s kind of funny many talk smack about Church but actually mentions them when disaster strikes.

SPEAKIING OF THAT: UMCOR. Heard of that? That stands for United Methodist Church on Relief. And this is part of my demonation at work. When I said disaster strikes, this organization doesn’t just preach the word, they act on it! No matter if it’s dealing wtih damages of Earthquakes, flooding, Hurricanes, Tornados or any other disaster. They are on it to support from loading supplies to grants.  They have been in business since 1940 and still helping out.  Many of the volunteers (according to the video) are UMC Members, UMC Personal Staff,  UMC Connections and etc. They also understand that the proceess of recovery takes time. And UMCOR is still with the folks that are still with the folks with needs. So technically they are still in the game and not leaving the bench. UMCOR is the real deal. And I should say this is what we, in the United Methodist are called to do. We can also Rethink Church to make us relevant, but this by no means is not just about rethinking, but redoing what we’ve were assigned and called to do.

So with that being said: for all you non-believers who think that all churches or church connections don’t do enough or all about the money to the bank, or with us going out after eat after worship an all that: let me sink this in.

There are those who PLAY church and there are those who DO church.

And part of the assumption of the hyprocrites that plagues with the Christians or false teachings does NOT APPLY TO ALL. You know what else is considered false teachings: anyone can do this. Even you non-church folks do this everyday on Social Media – False Stories. False information! Yeah you do it too! And even at times journalists can be corrected too.

Whether you like or hate Joel Osteen or any other Minister, Bishop, Apostle, or whatever, even a Church Secretary like me, if you hear some false info about whatever you read everyday and you believe that source is credited properly, I ask this: what did the main person say? What did the main person say in all this? I don’t want to read about what some conscious person thinks online WITHOUT CREDIBILITY! Folks if you want to read the real shiznit, read the real SHIZNIT. Post that with credibility! Don’t always assume the obvious that oh…..that’s what they said. Who is “the they?” The so-called HOTEPS?! I have to say that they too can spread some false info too! Let that sink in! And many of you follow the acts of per se of folks were or are afraid to hear about God’s Work at Work. But when disaster strikes, folks run to the church for help. And you just criticized them for being false prophets from the pulpit getting all that money! If I went to you for help and I’m a good dude that does good work, would you do it?

Pray for Houston folks. And at the same time, give yourself a prayer because you just never know.

And for those who want to help Houston in a UMCOR sense, here is their website on how you can donate or contribute.
