Everyone knows how this goes. And it’s real simple. No need to link or google or even #Hashtag. Today, many around the country and in household or other areas, we Americans will be celebrating that holiday of food called Thanksgiving. From the Parades, to the NFL Games, Dog Shows, or other new traditional ideas that will boost the food day. And yes, there will be us going out to the clubs and shaking off the pounds to get loose for Christmas.

And yes, there will be constant reminders of the horrors that our Native American brothers and sisters will not participate in this Thanksgiving Day due to the killing of their ancestors outside of a church on a Sunday morning many moons ago. Henceforth, The National Day of Mourning.

But this holiday, yes does have the two words of Be Thankful of the things and ideas we already have. So here in it’s 10th Anniversary tradition, here is another traditional Stephen’s Spot Thanksgiving Blog of “Be Thankful”. Break out the tablets, Smartphones, PC’s or laptops. Start reading!

If many in the black community have black pride PLUS Melanin Responsibility to uplift our black people without sarcasm and forced stuff, BE THANKFUL!

Now I have to say this: If you kneeled while supported the protest of inhumane acts of people of getting brutalized by the police (as in the NFL Players) and support the idea of waving the flag: your thankfulness is valid because even though many of you supported a kneeling movement in a Colin Kaepernick way. It’s not about the Flag or against the military or veterans. It’s about the ongoing concern of black folks getting the wrong treatments.

If you are walking tall real good, be thankful.

If you condemn any racist act on the internet, social media, at your job, or in the house, or in the neighborhood, or any act of disrespect, forced patriotism, and you had to write letters of complaints to a certain company, STILL be thankful to get your voice heard! Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s about that time again. Many of us Americans will be sitting around the TV with the games on (Go Packers!), folks will be finishing up with the cooking, and relatives and guests will come over for the food. Also phone calls, emails, and I think social media postings will pop up  with all the cooked food, and preps. No matter what happens on Thanksgiving yes, many will take the time to be thankful. Oh yeah, I started this blog thing portion on those old My Fox Milwaukee Blogs way back when, as many knows. Here on Stephen’s Spot, it doesn’t stop. By the way, this is one of my traditional blog posts I do each year.  So with this, it’s time to keep it simple to be thankful. Or just hashtag this: #BeThankful2015

If you have a church home, be thankful.

If you got insurance to go to the doctor, dentist or eye physician: Be thankful.

If you took in a movie with someone, or alone, be thankful you saw a movie.

If you have a job that you really enjoy, be thankful.

If you prayed for someone or anyone, no matter what: BE THANKFUL!

If you have a Pastor that can lead your congregation to the best of the ability, be thankful.

If you support your Alumni Functions, be thankful.

If you are STILL SINGLE and no kids living your thing with all the bothersome BS of those thinking: BE THANKFUL!

If you thanked a Veteran this year, with a green light bulb on your house, Be Thankful!

If you have someone in the Military now, that does the job in Uniform: Be Thankful.

If you are out looking for work everyday, Be Thankful.

If you still give back to your old Schools or Colleges, and you are on the Board of Directors for your Alumni, and you donate annually no matter what anyone says or thinks: BE THANKFUL!

If you still attend church every week, plus the days of choir rehearsal, giving needs, or bible study; while many condemn it as those who are about the money or the bishop or minister being called pulpit pimps, or the members being hypocritical of darn near everything, or “sister so and so” comes out with the dress on , or “brother man always in the back” doing God knows what, but you still do God’s work no matter what, and you stay around to help build up the church for the SOLE purpose of it: yes you need to Be Thankful!

If you have relatives that graduated this year and was part of the largest Graduating Classes or the surprising classes that had that one student that was the glue: Be Thankful!

If you have good neighbors that help out and know well: Be Thankful.

If you support black owned businesses and you support them RIGHT: Be Thankful.

If you take part in plays or concerts or alumni related events, Be Thankful.

If you have signed up to be a Election Inspector for 2016, Be Thankful. REALLY BE  THANKFUL!

If you voted or will vote in 2016 and in all Elections: Be Thankful.

If you like what I write here and one of the 16,000+ views that clicked on here and Tumblr, be thankful.

If you have a loved one that passed this year and it’s a different feeling of emptiness, and you’re at a point that it may not be a well oiled Thanksgiving Holiday, but it a point comes along and something new gets better and better for the survivors of the Family, yes you can “Be Thankful” for all of the memories that were, and the new memories to be.

If you still have goals or objectives: Be Thankful.

And, if you are still here living and breathing: BE THANKFUL!

Have a blessed Thanksgiving Holiday!

It’s time again for the traditional thanksgiving blog: Be thankful. The time of year of to be thankful for all the things we hold dear and still have. Now while those are getting the drink and turkey on along with the games or Parades, or the preliminary Christmas shows coming up, sit back and R-E-L-A-X. While pulling out your smartphone, tablet, laptop or CPU and just read up this thing.

If you got a good job, be thankful.

If you got a family member in the military and still doing it, be thankful.

If you got good health, or good teeth, or good eyes to see clearly, be thankful.

If you don’t have a doctor, but willing to find one and get checked, just be thankful that you can still do the medical game.

If you have good insurance either Humana or the Affordable Care Act, be thankful! (yeah I said it!)

If your car, truck, motorcycle or speedboat is running good, be thankful.

If you had to move out of a city, or state, just to support your family, and if you had to leave the old business behind, be thankful that you had to do what needs to be done.

If you had to stay or move back to your homestate or city to help your family, (i.e. back to Milwaukee) Be Thankful in which you are dealing a deal for the need, not the want!

If you got your eyes checked, but might be ready for reading glasses, be thankful the most that you can still see clearly!

If you got fired, or laid off from your former and got a new job by working for yourself, as in going in your own business without worrying about the man over the shoulder, Be Thankful!

If you go to the store, Walgreens, Denny’s, a local restaurant for your family, and get appreciated for your efforts, be thankful!

If you have a relative or a friend, or that particular person that you haven’t seen in over 10 years, and you get your boogie on or hang out at the clubs or restaurant to catch up, STILL BE THANKFUL!

If you’re one of the 10,000 plus blog readers, be thankful.

And, if you are one the Americans, who got bullied, got haters, got something to prove in which you can still take the haters or doubters wrong no matter what they said or did since you were a child, or have been “broken” or have been hurt though Domestic Violence (either male or female), or gone through so many routines of health checks, or maybe you have been forgotten about because of a list, or been unfriended, or removed because you believe per say that Jesus is a real deal in all, and still up on your feet and WORKING, yep BE THANKFUL that you can still move and not quit, not surrender, not give up and definite not give in to those who bully you.

Even be thankful for those that you can correct folks for saying your name wrong! I say Stephen like this: Steven. Not like this: Stefan (there will be corrections and donations, lol!)

Other than that: have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Well here we are again. While many are cooking, and football watching, and parade seeing, and or I hate to say, trying to get those Black Friday Deals, alerts or planning to go to the clubs and to shake off those calories, and many other turkey stuff, let’s pause to see what are we thankful for. And keep in mind, some of what I’m about to write is all positive. Been doing it since the MyFoxMilwaukee Blog days. Y’all remember them days!

If you like what I’ve been saying on this blog, be thankful!

If you are from Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay or any part of Wisconsin that is feeling my blogs, I’m just thankful that you had checked in to see what I have to say. Even if it’s black related.

If you have visited 30 Americans in Milwaukee from this past summer and had the chance to see the different African-American exhibits, be thankful that you saw some fine art.

If you had the ability to create or pick up new ideas for your group or yourself, be thankful.

If you had moved out for better chances than the last city, be thankful that yes, you have to do what is best.

If you had family members, friends, neighbors, classmates, or close friends who recently passed this year and still miss them like crazy, be thankful that YOU can celebrate their lives by learning the lessons to move forward during this hard time of the year.

If you are in a relationship, or getting married, or got married to the one you love, no matter the race, no matter the sexual preference (LGBT) no matter the personality, be thankful. Gotta say that for a universal thing.

Be Thankful

Ok. Thanksgiving is coming.  The fourth Thursday of November. I can’t help enough to set aside and give thanks for the things that we receive or give each time. It occurs to me that every time I see advertisements in stores it’s always between Halloween and Christmas and a little of Thanksgiving. Boggles the mind. I see little of dining sets and inflatable turkeys of Thanksgiving and a whole lot of Christmas decorations! Well, anyway between Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas I like to call “the giving seasons”.  Why? because I think we give more around this time than any other day or season on the calendar. Just my opinion.

What’s on the menu for me on Thursday? Nothing but the Food, Fellowship, Family, Football and just being together. I might be able to do a errand routine of getting extras of nutmeg, butter, buying the thanksgiving edition of the Journal for reading and shopping previews. Also, I’ll play my Madden 08 game a couple of times during
the day. For this Thanksgiving, there is going to be a missing factor because my late grandfather, Ernest McClinton, Sr.  is not going to lead us in prayer. He is deceased now. But that’s OK, because probably my sister will lead us in prayer in place of him. Also, I think that this year’s Thanksgiving will be a new jump start of my dad’s side of the family. Traditionally, my family might attend a Thanksgiving Eve service Wednesday Night at one of my sister churches in the city.

So now come the imfamous question: “What I am thankful for?” or maybe “What are you thankful for?” Each of us being here is thankful for something or someone. A new job, or current promotion, being in school working on a degree, having your car repaired so many times, looking for a job so many times, but the work and the beat goes on. For supplement, I have copied my final thought  comment from MySpace. (not my final final thought) just to extend a further thing to read about.

To those of us here in America, Happy Thanksgiving. Well, at least be thankful for the fact that if you’re reading this blog, be thankful that you’re reading it while still living.

If you have a steady job, be thankful.

If you have a outlet to go in case of help, when everyone else is closed or locked out, be thankful.

If you are looking for a job, and still haven’t found a darn thing, try to be thankful that you’re out there looking instead of sitting at the house.

If you have a good relationship, either personal or business, be thankful.

If you go to church on Sundays,  or during the week for activities, be thankful.

If your familiy still helps you out at age 30 and up, be thankful.

If you take time to volunteer, be thankful.

If you are single and not looking for love, like me, be thankful!

Ok, If you are dating and planning to get married, be thankful.

If you have kids, or planning to have kids, be thankful.

If you have a family member or friend that is joining the Military, or Clergy, or a Guardian Angel, try to be thankful for that person.

If you have relatives or immediate family members that can take you in when one else could, be thankful.

If you have relatives or immediate family members that you never met, nor seen in a while, and they come over, be thankful!

If you have former church members that you haven’t seen in a while, and they make a suprise appearance, be thankful.

If you know someone that lost a family member, or in jail, and you constantly go and visit them each time out of your schedules, be thankful.

If your pet died, and if someone you know gives you another dog, or cat, be thankful.

If you have a buddy system, that you go over and help your buddy out, and your buddy does the same thing, be thankful.

Overall, Thanksgiving here in America to me is being “thankful”. And if you had family members who had passed on, and couldn’t make it for Thanksgiving, be thankful.
