For everyone that was hot mad after seeing the footage of the Black Pastors and Bishops with Trump, guess what: you should be.

By the way, it’s more like a statement here than a blog letter.

You should be pissed, angry, mad as hell, and every negated feeling in your body that the church leaders you followed or supported all this time met with a president that does not care enough about the black community. And yet there are those who supported the idea of the Pastors and Bishops in the churches that met with the crazy, always tweeting, stuffy president of Donald Trump.
CALLOUT: Of all the questions I need to ask as a still church member: WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!!!!

Many of us who were raised in the church well that God doesn’t like ugly! Does that ring a bell? And yet this needs to be asked, what does this mean if you will be hosting events, activities, or better yet, inviting new folks to join up? And what about those who are young and they see all this going on, and they might wonder what was the Pastor thinking about meeting with someone like Trump that does not care about them?!

And to think, this is one of the major reasons why many STOPPED coming, attending, contributing to or supporting the church! Don’t believe me, google the web pages, surf on social media like Facebook or Twitter, and many who have gone COGIC, Pentecostal, Baptist, Non-Denominational, Methodist, or others have said the same thing! No matter how they said it or expressed. They will look back on this and stories like this one and will distinctly remember it all. This is one of the hardest reasons to believe that many don’t do church!!!

Remember the last year……no this year I commented on that question about why don’t People don’t go to church? Yeah, that one. Go back and read it. Via the station called WNOV. Read every single word I wrote. Now, this was 7 months ago. And look where we at now with the Black Pastors meeting with Trump.
CALLOUT: Shameful!

And this meeting was supposed to be about Prison Reform! Many don’t even care about that. Just a photo op with Trump.

In the video that we all saw, one the pastors, Darrell Scott commented on this about Trump that was so messed up. We’ve all seen it right?

That was the ugly backbreaker. Dude just said that Trump was the Pro-Black President we have. Is that so shameful I don’t know what is?

And oh, many of us in Milwaukee was informed about one of our Bishops, Darrell Hines of Christian Faith Fellowship Church, was one of the ministers in the discussion about Prison Reform with Trump. Many of us were floored and shocked that this man who helped rebuild a strip mall into a school and youth center in all met with a guy like Trump. One of our radio stations, Jammin 98.3 broke the story first, then the rest of the media like Channel 4 also chimed into the story with comments via WNOV’s Jermaine Reed’s show.

Mostly according to the story, many whom called into the station were against the opinions but without any surprise, the folks who backed Hines the most were the Church Members themselves. Christian Faith Fellowship Church has a neon sign posted in described: “Sinners are Welcome Here.” It’s a need for a remake.

Now many are asking, what was the reaction of the Pastors who were NOT present during the so-called meeting? One has spoken out:

Dr. Kevin Murriel of Cascade UMC in Atlanta spoke for about 33 minutes and he hit the nail on the head in with the pastors and bishops didn’t do their “homework” in that meeting with a guy like Trump who disrespected Puerto Rico, Haiti and other African Nations being labeled as S-Hole Countries, Re-vamped up Mass Incarceration, Ignoring Housing issues affecting Black Folks, Education and many others. As the young cats of today would say, he went in! And in part, he challenged the members of his church to research the pastors (including Bishop Darrell Hines) about what was said and commented. Dr. Murriel said in his sermon: “Do your homework!” Well apparently, AGAIN neither the men and women in that room with Trump HAVE NOT DONE THEIR HOMEWORK! Come on now! Just like in school, if you have not done your homework, YOU WILL FAIL! You will get bad grades. You will get that Failing Grade on the test. You will get that low percentage and get mad at the folks who DID their homework, than those who DIDN’T do their homework!

Oh, you don’t hear me.

This needs to be a wake-up call for every pastor, bishop, apostle, lay servant, deacon, head mother, head father, and any HEAD of the Church that this example will NOT get you more members or visitors. This will not get you noticed positively. This will not get you or your congregation on the same page as everyone else. I know what I’m saying is a bit harsh as a “STILL contributing head church member”. The folks whom probably left and talking smack about you or anyone else have given their due by stating of what they saw in the pews back then. They didn’t speak then. But now, I think it’s an emotional issue. It’s a remembrance of the pain of what they went through, and yes they I think to recognize that not many are as evil or scandalous as everyone else, including strict. Heck, I was raised by strict parents. So what, it’s the truth.

So this video of the Black Pastors and Bishops needs to be learned. And I know that it will not be very liked. But I dare say this also: hold the folks accountable. Just like in the Obama Administration often said all the time. And if you hold them accountable, then they remain intact of their jobs. And of course many in the community will continue to condemn all the Churches having “alleged ATMs” in the building, forcing folks to stay and tithe more, scandals, don’t show love for the LGBT, and telling about the abuse they encountered growing up and hearing stories of what goes on behind the scenes in hypocritical context. However, I should say this: yes not all are like that. Are many hypocritical at work? Or the club on Saturday Night? Your Class Reunion? Your Fraternity/Sorority Meetings and events? The mall? Uber? Lyft? Smoking or smelling like Weed in Walmart? Operating your own business? The old neighborhood? The new neighbors in the new neighborhood? Think about it.

All in all, no matter what your stance on religious stuff is: it’s an ongoing process.

Long time ago, I usually say that “August Really Sucks.” I think I say this because that’s when you get the feeling of school is coming. The 2018-19 year is about to start up. BUT….with all what’s going on with Trump messing up the game, a black Milwaukee Radio Station Segment gone, more of the Becky’s of calling the cops being crazy, Harley-Davidson turning 115 in all: I’m scratching my head again.

Did we really need the Hallmark Christmas Movies in July?

Schools of America: Are you ready for the classrooms?

For all the fans of “Shut up and dribble”: Do you hate LeBron James now? After he opened a school in the area Akron, Ohio?! Hmmmm……what about it?!

Are many folks ready for Roland Martin’s new show on September 4th? Spoiler Alert, you need the internet!

Wisconsinites: August 14th is coming up real fast. So you made your marks yet? Who’s betting on Mahlon Mitchell to go all the way?

For the listeners and fans of WNOV: what happens now after “The Forum?”

Milwaukee: Black Arts Fest MKE debuts. Will it be successful and the anticipation be in the staple of the City of Festivals? Just to think that 5 years ago, African World Festival happened. And unceremoniously: for the last time.

Is the Wisconsin State Fair still hyped?

Is the NFL Preseason still good to watch? And justly, not many will not watch the NFL in regarding Colin Kaepernick.

This fall: it will be my 25 years that I backed Bucky. When they got hot and went to the Rose Bowl in 1994 and won the game. (Rose Bowl with Barry Alvarez winning it all) But my question is, can these Football Badgers of now in 2018-19, go for the big one?

What about the new name for the New Bucks Arena? Now known as the Fiserv.Forum?

Alright this needs to be asked: what was the gall purpose of those Black Pastors IN the 45 Wacky White House meeting up with Trump? And what was Milwaukee Bishop Darrell Hines doing there?!!! Was it really about Prison Reform?! And speaking of that, Darrell Scott said that Trump is the “The most blackest president ever.” EXCUSE ME?!!! And having the balls to diss Obama?

Milwaukee: we will have some guests coming to town in later weeks for Harley-Davidson’s 115th Anniversary. Yeah, our every 5 year anniversary is coming yet again. But the question is: will EVERY neighborhood and community in Milwaukee be ready for this? And also will the Black Community be represented? You know it was almost left out IF the Iron Elite Black Biker Jam had not happened! As well as also the MLK Jr Drive Area had not happened either!

For you Bird Scooters Fans: yes you know that already that the City of Milwaukee had began to declare the Bird Scooters to be illegal to operate. In parts of the operating of the scooters didn’t comply under the State of Wisconsin’s DOT Laws. Yes, the city had to comply with the rules in terms of the state. Chapter 340 Paragraph 35. It’s clearly states that. For you Bird Scooter fans: didn’t you read that part before leaving the scooters around? Just asking!

For the Alumni on ALL levels: you ready to donate back to the old high schools and colleges?

For the teachers: you ready to get back to the grading papers?

For the Administrators: what about that idea of facilitating new ideas in the schools and colleges?

For you Parents: will you be willing to visit the schools not just because of the games or graduation?!

Will many folks NOT be jealous about taking pics of their kids going to school on the first day on Social Media?

When it comes to the black churches, why are they are REALLY dying out? What is the REAL Reason?

Jerry Springer has been on TV nearly 28 years. And how?

It’s funny though, we see and read about all those comments about the “misfits” can’t mount to nothing. Hmmmm……what if they did? And provide that evidence?

When will the Wisconsin State Fair have an African-American Career Expo? It had it once before!

Milwaukeeans: Century City I area will be getting it’s first tenant: GoodCity Brewing. It’s not Amazon, but can it generate jobs for the area?

Class of 2019: are you ready to get this semester over with? Especially if you are a Senior!

For all those going into school/colleges for the first time, you must be nervous. We all been there. But will you make sure that your first year is a learning experience?

For all those who are still in it at school/college: can you maintain the pressure?

Final question here: How will all of our leaders continue to adapt the ways of the 45 moronic orange head, while many of us have to go through crap everyday dealing with all the mess that most of the GOP do spew out? In other words, HOW LONG?!

Now I know that the Milwaukee Brewers are having a heck of a season. They are. And reached 50 plus wins in the NL Central. Oh yeah it’s positive vibes.

But that’s the good news. The bad? Josh Hader. If anyone paid attention to the recent All Star Game in which the National Team lost, there was a report about Josh Hader using racial terms, or messages on all things: Twitter. There was messages of “White Power” and hating gays and many others. Seriously. And he was 17 years old. A teenager. When I saw the footage about him making that appearance to the mound, and the fans making the standing ovation, that to me is a problem. How can any fans in Baseball, especially majority white, give a guy like Josh Hader a standing ovation after his racist remarks? This looks very bad and disturbing. Especially for the Milwaukee Brewers Organization.

Many are saying, “he was 17 years old”. And saying this on social media. Of course, that the old heads kept saying that be careful what you post. Even I said this! Josh Hader is getting that lesson right now even in the City of Milwaukee that we all know that it’s segregated. Do majority of the white folks who come to Miller Park or any other comes to Milwaukee Special Events knows about the segregated checkered past? They better. Now I know that I’m getting a reaction of like “yes we know”. But we don’t know enough. Have I’ve been discriminated against my black skin in Wisconsin? Yes. I’ve explained it over and over again about being hated on for a job offer through Dresser Waukesha 8 years ago. It will be 8 years next month in August when I got that letter from Tallahassee, Florida about black folks not being hired by the company due to it’s checkered past of racism in the Greater Milwaukee Area. This is one of the reasons why I don’t usually respond to job postings as much because of this matter. Of course many companies will say, “we don’t discriminate against anyone based on race, creed, class, gender, etc.” But do many companies actually feel this way? Let’s be honest, not all of them. But there are those whom are jealous about a applicant that they just looked up on LinkedIn or Facebook who had all the credentials and being passed over all because he or she was black or highly educated. That’s why we have folks like Scott Walker and Donald Trump whom have all that White Privilege and I dare say, racist angles in office. And majority of the voters put them in office. And I’ll bet many who put them in office, don’t want a guy like Mahlon Mitchell per se in the race to be the next Wisconsin Governor. To me, I’m still betting on Mahlon to get a chance to steal this shocker to get the chair in Madison. But that’s another story.

Long time ago in Church, my older sister once said about being careful what you say during a Youth Moment segment. Even she also said if it was in the second grade. By looking at the racist tweet from age 17, Josh Hader had to be in high school as either a junior or senior. Go figure.

If any of the African-American players on the Brewers whom like Eric Thames, Lorenzo Cain, or Keon Braxton said some messages of hate on Social Media, they will be GONE! Out of the picture or banned! And many will be asking why that is. For Josh Hader, he will be getting the full “Ethnic Sensitivity Treatment Classes” on respecting cultures in all. It’s kind of interesting, that the Milwaukee Brewers in August are having a theme night event called African-American Heritage Night on August 3rd, in commemorating the Negro League Tribute to the Milwaukee Bears, whom at one time were apart of the city’s history that was long forgotten. When I saw the comments on Facebook, there were some “jerk offs” had to ask about, when is Polish American Night happening, or making some meaningless jokes about black culture. I’m not kidding. And many don’t realize that the problem in Major League Baseball is the diversity that not enough black folks are engaged with the game. Unlike Football or Basketball. Wait until football season starts either NCAA or yes the NFL. Just wait. And also that Heritage Night is day before of the newly Black Arts Fest MKE will be debuted at Summerfest after a 5 year absence of no African World Festival in the city.

Another thing comes to mind that the same week that Josh Hader’s racist tweets had surfaced, guess what? Hulk Hogan was reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame in the same week! For those whom may have forgotten, Hulk Hogan was suspended for three years from the company’s Hall of Fame Status due to the fact that he was caught using the N word in regarding the thought of someone who would date his daughter Brooke. And oh, the firestorm had started. Forget about Hollywood Hulk Hogan with the nWo Heel Turn, this was Hulk Hogan or Terry Bolea using the N word and getting caught red handed out for that. When he was reinstated after three years, last week yes he wanted to make things right, but not every black WWE Superstar ranging from The New Day to Titus O’Neill didn’t somewhat approve of him being back. Except for Mark Henry whom is a newly inducted WWE Hall of Famer.

But the fact of the matter is, Hogan had to get right with himself about what he said. Maybe, just maybe that Josh Hader should do the same. And oh, it will not take a week. But the sting still remains in regarding to talk about race in all angles even in sports and entertainment. The jury on both is still out. As well as accountability.

Almost forgot to do this, but this is for the Class of 2018. By now, you just completed your degrees, walked with your classes, heard the commencement speeches, and many of you totally admit that this was the last time you saw each other. This part is sad. But you have to stay in touch with your Alumni to keep up. For all of that, this is your blog letter.

Dear Class of 2018:

It’s me, Stephen. And you know who I am. First to the class of 2018, I say congratuations! You made it! Welcome to the club of the Alumni! Or for some of you, the Real World! I know the feeling of walking that stage and being admired of my educational accomplishments. But I have heard that you all had a tremendous year based on sports, academics and yes, getting to this point in your lives that will be remembered as long as you live.

Even though that this moment in your lives in your educational history is very sufficient, don’t be alarmed but many of you are probably influencing the next class or the next member in your families that is willing to go to that next level to be the best in your efforts. I’ve mentioned this before with a different class, but the reality is you established something that will be very influential. No matter if its your High School Diploma, Colleges Degrees of Associates, Bachelor’s, Masters, or Doctors, somebody is watching you and saying that “I’m going to do this!” My thing is: GO FOR IT! Do the thing that will get you famous with the pictures on the walls and comeback in 20 years to get another generation of graduates to hype them up for the next level.

But I want to take a moment to reflect on your Graduation Ceremonies. Many of you had great ceremonies in which you weren’t dancing. Some of you did. And some of you almost got yanked off the stage. Some of you High School Valedictorians that graduated wanted to say your speeches that included some concerns about Sexual Acts of Harassment and other acts of concerns you wanted to say, was cancelled by the administrations of pulling your microphones away. This crap of what you experienced was nothing of fear! The administrations of your schools were full of BS. They didn’t care. All they cared was like again: let’s talk about the good things, pomp and circumstance, speeches, congrats, walk on the stage, tilt your tassel and go home.

WAIT A SECOND! I written about this before years ago about top seniors in High School almost got yanked off the stage for the concerns about the violence, sexual harassment, and many other FEARS that many will talk about after leaving school. My thing is, you should be concerned! This happens almost EVERYDAY in the real world! You read about it online, read it in the papers, the news, and yes you hear it from other folks whom have their problems in the families in school! But alas: it’s graduation season. I need to tell these so-called Superintendents, Educators, Secretaries, Principals, Vice Principals, Dignitaries, and yes so-called supporters who favored the yanking of speeches: YOU ARE SO STUPID! You’re all about the one-sided affairs. But not about concerns! When I heard about the students making their speeches about the violence in Florida this year and many others across the country: where were you administration? Were you listening to the students?! If you were NOT LISTENING to the kids and those whom were Seniors, there is something wrong with you! This is our future! This is our next leaders to might be better than us in which they will be in control of the ship. And oh, you stripped their right to speak about the concerns. You all need to WAKE THE F//**+ UP! Yeah I said it! Many of you are worried about your wallets instead of your instincts! I thought the schools are a part of the community. When the community of Children and Youth are concerned about the world of Donald Trump insults, and the violence of innocent people being harassed, bullied or even traumatized about their classmates’ experience, WE THE SO-CALLED GROWN FOLKS need to LISTEN! They are our future! They are not just on Facebook or playing Fortnite! And as far as the University Commencements are concern. When the graduates in Florida were dancing around after hearing the names called, one of the folks put their hands on the graduates (black ones) and try to get them off the stage! REALLY?! I get it. Its a day full of joy. And yes the University had apologized to the graduates for the act. Lucky some of the HBCU’s (the Black Colleges) didn’t see that as a distraction or a problem!

Class of 2018: DON’T LET NOBODY STEAL YOUR JOY! If I had to come to a graduation and speak to most of you, I’m letting those words be the anchor. Not just for graduations or commencement services but everyday! You’re going to put up with folks whom don’t care about your academics, your sports, your family background, your heritage, your gender, your issues of whatever, religion, history, and etc. THEY WON’T CARE. It might seemed racist, sexist, shaming, in all. They will. Although they might acknowledge them, but many will not care about it! But I say this, be proud that you made it. Let the haters hate, sulk and suffer!

If they hate that you got a masters or a bachleors from a crappy school that they couldn’t pass, SORE LOSERS! Same thing with the High Schools. They couldn’t cut the mustard then. That’s why they complain. That’s why they go on the blogs (not this one) Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others piss and moan about guys like you making it. And here is a shocker, some of them could be your former classmates, and I dare say: your church, your other friends, and even this might hurt, your kinfolk family members. It’s a well known fact of hate!

2018: Always continue to be the best in all what you do! Be real in all what you do! And don’t let NOBODY or anything stand your way towards that goaline. You have made it this far. Keep going to that next level! Oh, one more thing: since many of you got your degrees, and got all that grad money and I’ve mentioned this before. Get involved with your school’s Alumni Associations. Get involved with them. Attend a board meeting, receive newsletters, email blasts, view social media posts about your class or school. Tour the school for an open house, attend a homecoming game. Just to clarify that Homecoming is really for the Alumni! And for those whom are way younger than 41: I was told to do this at 18, and I’m telling you here: Go to your reunions. And also, donate back to your schools that gave you love in the first place! Now a days if you have not heard, Alumni Groups or Alumni in general now wants to give back to their schools. The schools want to reach out to the Alumni. GET INVOLVED!

Younger alums: I know that many of you will be busy with family and college. But the Alumni Committees needs to hear from you about what you want to see in your alum orgs. My advice, get to know your Alumni Committee. Get to know at least one member. Visit the schools, get the info that is current! Buy a T-shirt, form your own Alumni groups and events/reunions, and have the elder alumni to talk to you about why you should be a future Alumni Board Member. And like I said in many Graduation Blogs years ago, you might be on the stage in the future giving a keynote address to a future class that might be looking at you as an example while getting an Alumni of the Year Award. Which would echo your work in the community.

2018: You made it this far. Congrats to all of you. Like I said on the night of my father’s wake: Stay in the fight!

Sincerely,

Stephen

Now I can talk. After all the mess. Most recently, our so-called President 45 had to question about folks who come to our country from poor countries. What has that set up a firestorm you asked?  Dude had the nerve to ask this ridiculous  question which is not so surprising:

“Why are we having all these people from sh*thole countries come here?”

CALLOUT: What kind of Ish is that?!

I know that had to be the most ridiculous question ever! Make that racist! It’s so ridiculous that many feared that it was deemed racist.  Why are many are so shocked about the statement? We all knew what we expected. Getting a crazy man like 45 into office being jealous about Obama’s success in 8 years. Let’s be real America, the hate is real. Matter of fact, the hate has always been real. It’s been real since slavery, since apartheid, since the wars fought, politics formed up and many other things that got the jealousy of the attitude that sparked. We know!

I thought AMERICA was supposed to be the “Land of Opportunity”.

I thought AMERICA was supposed to be this country where folks can actually come here and settle for new dreams.

I thought AMERICA was supposed to have this moniker of welcoming frontiers! BUT after what 45 said about Africa and Haiti being SH*THOLE Countries, I’ll bet those in Africa and Haiti had that feeling like, “this is what America thinks about us”. To our African and Haiti neighbors, NOT ALL AMERICANS think like this. AT ALL. Many of us got neighbors, church members, lawyers, doctors, teachers, scientists, construction workers and supervisors, communications, pastors, bishops, nurses, and countless other occupations that we know very well. Why is that so hard to understand?

Chris Rock back in 2004 described this in his comedy at the time called Never Scared:

Now if you swam here from some sh*tty country that didn’t allow you Bubblicious,  you too are American cos you overcame obstacles and made sacrifices to actually get here. You are a true American, OK? You really are. Don’t let nobody tell you no different.

I hope that many in TrumpLand 45 repeats this AGAIN with conviction. Even though that many of you won’t. Now you probably are saying, “why hasn’t Chris Rock said this recently? “UM……again this was said WAY BACK in 2004! The very same 2004 that many AGAIN that gave George W. Bush the chair for his misconstructed 2nd Term! Yeah you Bush Backers know it. Every pre-first Generation Immigrant American, even if you came from Africa and Haiti, you know the real deal why you chose this country to come to. Maybe you came because of Education, Jobs, or to bring something new to the table in order to have that great opportunity to thrive. Of course yes, you have done it, and in some essence still want to do. But we all know that the biggest mistake we did in November of 2016 is picking this dude Trump to lead our nation. That was and is now, a slap in the face! We can only blame us, matter of fact we blame the 50% of us who chose him over Hillary Clinton. Now personally, Hillary was the favorite (WITH EXPERIENCE) that should have been in the chair right now. OF COURSE, she also was denied of being this concern about the 1994 Crime Bill and many others that see negative. People, we need to stop. If this past election has not taught us anything, I don’t know what has.

Like Chris Rock said in 2004, don’t let nobody tell you no different. Don’t let this comment about your native lands of Africa and Haiti being well “Sh*thole Countries” all because it’s looked poor on paper. Many of you had to withstand the poor situations to rise up from that. I’ve heard stories here in America about Americans GROWING UP from NOTHING. And there are those whom became business owners, teachers, lawyers, doctors, even also Public Service and many others. We heard many time that America is the Greatest Country on Earth. A shiny beacon on the hill and many others. And yes there are times America gets caught in evil situations that should have not been in. It’s the truth. And does that make that a “Sh*thole Country?”

We better watch our words. Matter of fact, 45 needs to stop tweeting his!

Also, I should ask: Is America still that thing call a “melting pot?”

Many believe that this year of 2017 was that year. Well, did you claim what you were looking for?

MASSIVE SOCIAL MEDIA CALLOUT AGAIN LIKE LAST YEAR: Can we PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, JESUS, ALLAH, BUDDHA or SCIENTOLOGY: use the “You’re” word on Facebook correctly as well as other forms of Social Media? Like for example, “You’re It!” Not “Your it”. Or “If you don’t follow me on so and so, you’re not welcome here no more. Not “If you don’t follow me on so and so your not welcome here no more.” We need to respell and check our words, folks! – And no stop blaming the Public Schools systems! Blame the person, you.

Who is really the conscious groups: The church folk, the business folk, the activist, the talk show host, or the unsung folk?

My highlights of the year:

Well my highlights of  the year were as I acknowledged my 10th Anniversary as a worker of my church. I survived a decade with a pin. Also, I started and created a summer developers program that didn’t go well, but it was salvaged with a homework assignment. But the challenge of me as I indicated that I am as well as my family are going to the hard reality of the passing of my father. We still miss him. But not forgotten.

Sidenote: I appreciate the 23,615 hits on my blog. This is great, BUT: the “same old reading stuff” bubbles must be busted in 2018! I will find a way to do it, or maybe not. We’ll see.

Don’t be late in 2018!

Call this another “My Double Take”. Actually it is. With all what is going on with the recent bullying and also more sexual harassment allegations. We know what it is. And the thing is, I’m not really surprised at both angles.

First: let me address the bullying angle or the recent bullying angle. We have heard about the Keaton Jones kid who made a video about being bullied in his hometown. And it went viral on Facebook and other platforms on Social Media. We all seen it. And reacted to it. And many of us probably had given Keaton some hope to overcome this bullying. But then came a picture in which it featured his mother Kimberly Jones and other children holding the “Stars and Bars” along with the racial overtones plus a picture of his father openly admit of his racial overtones! But the main focus of this angle is the mother! And the mother goes on the TV or internet that says “Oh I’m not a racist” like everyone in the racist families probably says. Which they really don’t believe.  Of course many of us will get the butt hurt comments about racism. And race is still the commentary that we still talk about, comment, question, and or summarize that we know. But let us NOT let lose focus on the issue of bullying. This is what we should talk about! We all remember when we were back in school getting ribbed on, fighting, messing around, getting folks in trouble, and many of us didn’t want to fight back because we were afraid of getting suspended and those blotches on our permanent records into adulthood. I commented this many times that sometimes that you have to fight back. I said this that we need to stand up for ourselves, and apparently that goes for this era of hashtags, millennials standing stiff, and also us Gen-X’ers need to stop this notion that it don’t mean nothing. We’ve been through this before and many us in Gen-X got bullied or started a body shaming moment that we got big noses, butts and can’t mount to a darn thing all because of your home-brokeness growing up! (As in no Fathers in the home, Mother was the only source, etc. ) Now you want to spread the bad seeds to your children and somewhat grandchildren in the schools now! This is taking place. Yes, I fought back. But I fought back that I was NOT going to take the BS no more. If the schools administration of the Milwaukee Public Schools at the time wasn’t going to take the example of talking about bullying, I will! Either I would have gotten suspended or not. The last time I got suspended in a Milwaukee Public School was in December of 1991, a week after my 15th Birthday in which a class clown pushed my buttons per se and we fought. I was provoked. Simply provoked at John Marshall High School.  And now I see these kids especially this Ashawnty Davis, who saw this Youtube video of her and after that, she committed suicide all because she got bullied in school. Oh, and she was 10 years old! Think about your 10 year olds now.  And also, why are 10 year olds watching Youtube videos NOW of bullying? We are not right.

Technically, we are not doing a good job of addressing the issue of bullying.  We don’t do it enough. And partially that bullying effect was supposed to stop in our adult ages. But that’s a lie. There are folks in the workplaces, churches, clubs, your groups (Alumni Fraternity, Sorority, Rotary Clubs), connections, network and many others that are bullies right now. I encountered a “bully like situation” in 2004 via the Milwaukee Urban League of trying to find a job, but the attacking part on me was on my education: UW-Stout’s Distance Education and Industrial Management. Manpower in Downtown Milwaukee same thing. Spherion, a job employment service even attacked me. Both white folks and a black woman. Grown folks. They been working in the offices for over 20 years in all, but part of them was attacking me of something they didn’t understand. But in 2005, I had to defend myself and my education of what it was. Why I’m saying this: even though that we got our successes in life thus far, NEVER FORGET the pain and hell you went though in order to get it. Many of us supposed to get by without any problems. BUT that is a bold face lie.

CALLOUT: WAKE UP! Wake up right now. I know Christmas is coming and Sagittarius Season is ending with the Capricorns coming. Fight back.

Now speaking of fighting back: Sexual Allegations in the workplace. Oh, boy.

Seeing most of the men on the NFL Network, ESPN, PBS Talkshows, and others are getting the shaft out of the workplaces based on whispers that the female workers encountered or heard while working. Recently, Donvan McNabb, Marshall Faulk, Ike Taylor, Heath Taylor, and long time ago: Warren Sapp. The allegations were made by former NFL Network employee, Jami Cantor for her side of the story of what she encountered while working. If that’s bad, Tavis Smiley, whom had a love hate thing with President Obama, was recently suspended on his 15th year with PBS, of rumors that he was acting way advanced of approaching females, in which that story was brought up in Variety Magazine and then when PBS heard about it, they somewhat jumped the gun on Tavis. No, I don’t like Tavis Smiley, I don’t follow his viewpoints, nor I don’t follow his opinions of Barack Obama after the disrespect. But I have to say that this needs to be investigated. This reminds me of what Michael Jackson went through with that so-called 13 year old boy whom claimed he was molested. It took down Michael’s credibility and raised his conscious about those who lay claim and doing it for the money. Matter of fact, that’s what it was. All about the money. And after Michael Jackson passed in 2009 as we all know, the accuser came forward and clean at the age of 29 that it was all about getting his money! You females out there: you better not get the money as you think. You assuming that “Oh, Stephen you can’t make a comparison of what Michael Jackson did and what the females make the examples right now. ” Well the angles maybe different, but the ideas were the same. There is something going on in these workplaces that the game is messed up. Oh it seems the norm when we first get hired. But way after that it’s a different story! We know it long afterwards!

And as far as Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose, and others who “openly admit the crime”, that was completely different as usual. And appears that the wall is being broken down being up for so long! For the Today Show, have they really played themselves in which letting go Tamron Hall? Think about it!

But I hate to ask: Are we really that surprised? Be honest. And what are we willing to do about it? Keep typing? Or really addressing the issues to those whom are still stuck on netural and not moving forward?

By now, many of us have had our Halloween Decorations looking so-so scary. We decorated our houses and community centers so spooky that we need to change the game for next year in Halloween 2018. Which we have to do before we vote in the Midterms. And yes, we had to put up our costumes on wax to think again about next year as well. Plus I had a costume that I had to sample from my father’s work wear to pay tribute to him.

BUT………I have to address my black Kings and Queens in regarding this thing of Halloween, Christians, Ebony Magazine, and certain thing about “Pagan Holidays”. Let me go in on my people. Even though I love my blackness, honor my ancestors and also fly the red, black and green in the heart like the red white and blue. I’m reading the article online from Ebony Magazine (via Facebook)  the latest one that had an article with Meagan Good dressed like Catwoman. Oh, by now that everyone knows, she married a pastor earlier this year per se and many questioned about her choice celebrating All Hallow’s Eve in a FREAKING COSTUME! Really?!

Then I went to this BallersAlert Instagram Page. And when I was view the page in term of Meagan Good doing her, all these comments mainly coming from those whom are considered “Christian” and being black and proud had this remorse of shaming her just because she’s a Christian celebrating this “so-called” scary evil holiday known as Halloween.

For all of my black readers whom think they know everything about Halloween or having this negative stat of pagan holidays: SPELL IT! Spell Pagan. Let me school you on this: Do you know what Halloween really means? It really means Comes from the adage of All Hallow’s Eve in which leads into a holiday called All Saint’s Day. Heard of All Saint’s Day? You should! If you called out a name, or remembered a person that recently passed, that is part of it! If you go to church, you have should have heard the thought about All Saints Day, PERIOD! But what does that have to do with Halloween? Part of that is another meaning that you probably never got the knowledge of: Holy Evening.  THAT IS WHAT HALLOWEEN REALLY MEANS! It’s a HOLY EVENING.

According to Wikipedia: As you should know –

The word Halloween or Hallowe’en dates to about 1745 and is of Christian origin. The word “Hallowe’en” means “hallowed evening” or “holy evening”. It comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows’ Eve (the evening before All Hallows’ Day). In Scots, the word “eve” is even, and this is contracted to e’en or een. Over time, (All) Hallow(s) E(v)en evolved into Hallowe’en. Although the phrase “All Hallows'” is found in Old English “All Hallows’ Eve” is itself not seen until 1556.

Oh wait, there’s more for you Christians:

Christian influence (via Wikipedia)

Today’s Halloween customs are also thought to have been influenced by Christian dogma and practices derived from it. Halloween is the evening before the Christian holy days of All Hallows’ Day (also known as All Saints’ or Hallowmas) on 1 November and All Souls’ Day on 2 November, thus giving the holiday on 31 October the full name of All Hallows’ Eve (meaning the evening before All Hallows’ Day).[69] Since the time of the early Church,[70] major feasts in Christianity (such as Christmas, Easter and Pentecost) had vigils that began the night before, as did the feast of All Hallows’.[71] These three days are collectively called Allhallowtide and are a time for honoring the saints and praying for the recently departed souls who have yet to reach Heaven. Commemorations of all saints and martyrs were held by several churches on various dates, mostly in springtime.[72] In 609, Pope Boniface IV re-dedicated the Pantheon in Rome to “St Mary and all martyrs” on 13 May. This was the same date as Lemuria, an ancient Roman festival of the dead, and the same date as the commemoration of all saints in Edessa in the time of Ephrem.[73]
The feast of All Hallows’, on its current date in the Western Church, may be traced to Pope Gregory III’s (731–741) founding of an oratory in St Peter’s for the relics “of the holy apostles and of all saints, martyrs and confessors”.[74][75] In 835, All Hallows’ Day was officially switched to 1 November, the same date as Samhain, at the behest of Pope Gregory IV.[76] Some suggest this was due to Celtic influence, while others suggest it was a Germanic idea,[76] although it is claimed that both Germanic and Celtic-speaking peoples commemorated the dead at the beginning of winter.[77] They may have seen it as the most fitting time to do so, as it is a time of ‘dying’ in nature.[76][77] It is also suggested that the change was made on the “practical grounds that Rome in summer could not accommodate the great number of pilgrims who flocked to it”, and perhaps because of public health considerations regarding Roman Fever – a disease that claimed a number of lives during the sultry summers of the region.[78]

By the end of the 12th century they had become holy days of obligation across Europe and involved such traditions as ringing church bells for the souls in purgatory. In addition, “it was customary for criers dressed in black to parade the streets, ringing a bell of mournful sound and calling on all good Christians to remember the poor souls.”[80] “Souling”, the custom of baking and sharing soul cakes for all christened souls,[81] has been suggested as the origin of trick-or-treating.[82] The custom dates back at least as far as the 15th century[83] and was found in parts of England, Flanders, Germany and Austria.[53] Groups of poor people, often children, would go door-to-door during Allhallowtide, collecting soul cakes, in exchange for praying for the dead, especially the souls of the givers’ friends and relatives.[83][84][85] Soul cakes would also be offered for the souls themselves to eat,[53] or the ‘soulers’ would act as their representatives.[86] As with the Lenten tradition of hot cross buns, Allhallowtide soul cakes were often marked with a cross, indicating that they were baked as alms.[87] Shakespeare mentions souling in his comedy The Two Gentlemen of Verona (1593).[88] On the custom of wearing costumes, Christian minister Prince Sorie Conteh wrote: “It was traditionally believed that the souls of the departed wandered the earth until All Saints’ Day, and All Hallows’ Eve provided one last chance for the dead to gain vengeance on their enemies before moving to the next world. In order to avoid being recognized by any soul that might be seeking such vengeance, people would don masks or costumes to disguise their identities”.[89]
It is claimed that in the Middle Ages, churches that were too poor to display the relics of martyred saints at Allhallowtide let parishioners dress up as saints instead.[90][91] Some Christians continue to observe this custom at Halloween today.[92] Lesley Bannatyne believes this could have been a Christianization of an earlier pagan custom.[93] While souling, Christians would carry with them “lanterns made of hollowed-out turnips”.[94] It has been suggested that the carved jack-o’-lantern, a popular symbol of Halloween, originally represented the souls of the dead.[95] On Halloween, in medieval Europe, fires served a dual purpose, being lit to guide returning souls to the homes of their families, as well as to deflect demons from haunting sincere Christian folk.[96][97] Households in Austria, England and Ireland often had “candles burning in every room to guide the souls back to visit their earthly homes”. These were known as “soul lights”.[98][99][100] Many Christians in mainland Europe, especially in France, believed “that once a year, on Hallowe’en, the dead of the churchyards rose for one wild, hideous carnival” known as the danse macabre, which has often been depicted in church decoration.[101]
Christopher Allmand and Rosamond McKitterick write in The New Cambridge Medieval History that “Christians were moved by the sight of the Infant Jesus playing on his mother’s knee; their hearts were touched by the Pietà; and patron saints reassured them by their presence. But, all the while, the danse macabre urged them not to forget the end of all earthly things.”[102] This danse macabre was enacted at village pageants and at court masques, with people “dressing up as corpses from various strata of society”, and may have been the origin of modern-day Halloween costume parties.[94][103][91][104]
In parts of Britain, these customs came under attack during the Reformation as some Protestants berated purgatory as a “popish” doctrine incompatible with their notion of predestination. Thus, for some Nonconformist Protestants, the theology of All Hallows’ Eve was redefined; without the doctrine of purgatory, “the returning souls cannot be journeying from Purgatory on their way to Heaven, as Catholics frequently believe and assert. Instead, the so-called ghosts are thought to be in actuality evil spirits. As such they are threatening.”[99] Other Protestants maintained belief in an intermediate state, known as Hades (Bosom of Abraham),[105] and continued to observe the original customs, especially souling, candlelit processions and the ringing of church bells in memory of the dead.[69][106]
Mark Donnelly, a professor of medieval archæology, and historian Daniel Diehl, with regard to the evil spirits, on Halloween, write that “barns and homes were blessed to protect people and livestock from the effect of witches, who were believed to accompany the malignant spirits as they traveled the earth.”[107] In the 19th century, in some rural parts of England, families gathered on hills on the night of All Hallows’ Eve. One held a bunch of burning straw on a pitchfork while the rest knelt around him in a circle, praying for the souls of relatives and friends until the flames went out. This was known as teen’lay.[108] The rising popularity of Guy Fawkes Night (5 November) from 1605 onward, saw many Halloween traditions appropriated by that holiday instead, and Halloween’s popularity waned in Britain, with the noteworthy exception of Scotland.[109] There and in Ireland, they had been celebrating Samhain and Halloween since at least the early Middle Ages, and the Scottish kirk took a more pragmatic approach to Halloween, seeing it as important to the life cycle and rites of passage of communities and thus ensuring its survival in the country.[109]
In France, some Christian families, on the night of All Hallows’ Eve, prayed beside the graves of their loved ones, setting down dishes full of milk for them.[98] On Halloween, in Italy, some families left a large meal out for ghosts of their passed relatives, before they departed for church services.[110] In Spain, on this night, special pastries are baked, known as “bones of the holy” (Spanish: Huesos de Santo) and put them on the graves of the churchyard, a practice that continues to this day.[111]

Makes sense now? Keywords: HOLY EVENING!

Now from my understanding that the Holy Evening Holiday may have some pagan roots. Halloween has some pagan connections but it’s not entirely EVIL! When folk think of “Pagan Holidays” they think it’s something that is demonic or trickery. REALLY? Not all holidays are “Pagan Holidays.” If your wedding or a loved ones funeral is considered a “Pagan Holiday” filled with evil or demonic implications, then I guess you haven’t been to one. Or you don’t know enough! That is the problem today, why do many feel (espcially in the black community) that pagan holidays are evil, knowing that there are some “Pagan Holidays” are good? You got Christmas coming up in celebrating the Birth of Jesus, and many folks are calling that being a “Pagan Holiday”: Many of you got it all twisted. Not all Pagan Holidays are evil .

CALLOUT:  Is Juneteenth Day a Pagan Holiday?

Is many of our holidays that we started (KWANZAA) is considered a Pagan Holiday?

Is waving the Red Black and Green on Marcus Garvey’s Birthday or any BLACK HOLIDAY is considered a Pagan Holiday? Oh, you don’t hear me.

Why I am saying this? Why I am calling out the gossiperes to this manner? Real simple, LACK OF KNOWLEDGE! That is what this is. All that so called opinons that man of you spilled on Social Media makes no sense at all. And I’m assuming that BallerAlert wanted your reaction. They really don’t care about it. Just to make money and hurt your feelings.

Despite what Meagan Good does in her spare time should not be a concern on anyone. Even Black Christians! Now I’m a Black Christian myself and I do celebrate and decorate the Holy Evening thing of Halloween on my house. And don’t come at me with all that “pagan holiday opinionized mess” that black christians shouldn’t be celebrating this holiday. That goes double for the non-church folk! If any christian celebrates Halloween without any harm or concern, it shouldn’t be a problem! Many of us need to reread the Lord’s Prayer featuring the words: Hallowed be thy name. The Keyword is Hallowed. That word again.

Black Folks, it’s just Halloween. Chill out!

Oh yes.…….(In my Paul Bearer voice) Many of you probably had or will have a Halloween thing between now and the 31st. But of course there will be many whom have an attitude about church or the clubs being drunk might come in. However since the theme of Halloween is all about fear, and sometimes fun, we know everyday. But of course, I’m scratching my head again.

So you still hate the Church, huh? What about them clubs though?

For the record, black folks we see the Cosby Shows, Family Matters, etc. But yet we somewhat complain about shows (positive ones) not being shown because of the “reality TV”. Why are we not doing the shows we want? Hello! Education!

For the record: when younger folks see all these groups – VFW, American Legion, Mason’s, Elks, Church Organizations, Alumni Boards, they have this attitude that they’ll won’t join because they’re are young or no knowledge. Or just being thrown into the fire, just because. Well does the phrase, “be the change” ring a bell? If you are a young veteran maybe you need to have a voice at the table in the American Legion or another Veterans group to address YOUR concerns and be the change. And this goes for the church, Alumni Committees, etc. If a young person comes to the table about a sermon and they are not mentioned at all then you young folks need to speak to your pastors about including you in their sermons! In 1990, my former youth group, was talking to my former pastor about his sermons. We felt at the time that the sermons weren’t reaching us. We didn’t complain, piss or moan like many do now. And we certainly, talked smack about it. We talked. And we talked the reasons why! And it was a good suggestion! So all you younger folks who feel left out, come to the table and bring your concerns in all, join the group and BE THE CHANGE! Period! Sure you might feel left out but still, be the change.

And the last thing: what was or is your costume? And your movies or traditional things for the 31st of October?

Happy Halloween!
