Oh Im sure that the latest talk on Hip Hop has this name buzzing.

Write this name down and remember it well: Kendrick Lamar.

You know who he is right? This is the guy that everyone in the Twitter game/Hip Hop game is talking about. Now for those who don’t follow nor understand hip hop, or trying to get the Hub Bub, the buzz around Kendrick’s latest lyric was like a nuclear bomb going off without warning. For instance: he did a song on Big Sean’s album called “Control” and yes in the song he had alot to say in regarding Lindsey Lohan and some like A$AP Rocky, Drake, Wale and many others on his list that well: he knows. But also calls them out in terms of rising up and do more in hip hop than they already know.

And likewise, Kendrick has got backers ranging from Chuck D, Ice T, and of all others: Rev. Run of Run DMC.

Exactly, what did Kendrick Lamar say? Judge for yourself. (Note, some of the lyric words have been edited out on this blog, but you can check out this also on VIBE.com)

Oh check this from OkayPlayer.com: The black shirt that has the names that Kendrick mentioned. This is crazy!  But innovative.

Now for those who are wondering, why this? Why would Kendrick Lamar put out the lyrics like this, and have his fellow rappers feeling the heat from KDot (as he is also called)? Folks, this in Hip Hop or Rap Music, is called “the battle”. In the battle, (from my study) is basically having one rapper calling out another rapper or rappers in a lyrical confrontation to see who is the best of the best. Almost like having two best folks from polar opposites talents going head to head. It’s competition, baby! That’s what it is. This battle also has had many casualties and yes, many competitors.

LL Cool J  had battles vs Kool Moe Dee and Ice T and MC Hammer. In speaking of MC Hammer,  vs Vanilla Ice. Or 3rd Bass had a battle with Vanilla Ice way back. LL Cool J also had run with Canibus back in 1998. And yes, Jay Z, Eminem also had their share of competitiveness also in the rap game. Plus, we can never forget, and even though it has been blamed for their deaths: Tupac and Biggie. – Mainly the real deal behind that was record sales. Now looking at that: is a sample of the rap battle that has taken place. Now Kendrick’s role in this game, is on the list.

Like many others, yes, Kendrick has to answer to the critics: Joel Ortiz, and of all folks: Lupe Fiasco. (I thought he quit!) And also just checking in, Lindsey Lohan’s father had to weigh in on this. REALLY?!!!! Ok, I see. Michael Lohan is defending his daughter. But he does understand that this is a game right? I mean Lindsey has done some bad stuff right? Just saying.  Many are saying that this lyric is legendary. BUT…….I have to say that Kendrick has to put up more lyrics like this one just to climb the ladder. And the hard part, is going though those he knows best. And as far as the king of “BOTH Coasts”? That remains to be seen. Kendrick has to still prove himself. Yes, he last album in 2012 was blowing up. But what’s next after Control? And I’m not talking about Janet Jackson’s Control!

But I’ll say this though. Most are saying that this woke up HIp Hop. This woke up Rap Music. What it is waking up to, it’s has to take notice. Plus also, I don’t think it’s not a “diss comment” to his fellow rappers in the game, but I’ll say this that it’s a way to say, “If I see you messing around, I’m calling you out to be accountable and passing you up in the race.” Frankly, for you future rappers, take notes. And for those in the game (or about to be in the game) you all better step your game up, and not be a copycat to get the strap. That’s like going through your family or friends to get the Championship around your waist or possession. You better be real in the craft! And there is a price to pay if you don’t.

We’ll see!
