Oh yes. I have to talk this. Really I have too.

I’m sure that many in America already knows about the deal that was signed when Foxconn, a Taiwan company that landed a deal that would boost Wisconsin’s job numbers concerning employment. We all know that when Scott Walker boasted a plan to have the 250,000 jobs to happen, actually DID NOT WORK. I told you so, Wisconsin. The same words, I told you so rang out so many times I can’t event count. And this was about 6 years ago. Now with the jobs for Foxconn according the sources that it would attract about 13,000 jobs. And it’s going to come to the area of Racine or Kenosha Counties. And just like Amazon, they will NOT come to the Milwaukee Metro Area. And the fact is that yes, when Foxconn inked the deal there had some concerns about also about the taxation part. This deal per se might cost us taxpayers to be on the hook for the next 15 years. How is this deal is going to be beneficial for taxpayers like me for the next couple of years?! Like really, Madison. Plus, Foxconn has been in bad blood in the last couple of years. To the residents of Pennsylvania, we have read about your dilemma about the plant that hasn’t been built. And many of us in Wisconsin are fully aware about it the promises that you were to be given, but didn’t work. And the result was bad broken politics. We get it.

I’ll bet many probably thought, really Wisconsin?! Have you been screwed up already? Oh and other thing, many think that this would seal up Scott Walker’s deal as a way to get reelected for 2018.

Now since the Foxconn company is coming to the state, what will become of us whom don’t have transportation to get to the jobs? We know that Amazon can’t do it alone, but many of us don’t have a jeep, a truck, a car, or a Go-Kart to get to Foxconn every day? Think about it. And what will the state black residents have a say in this?

Oh wait! We had an idea that was seemed very VERY interesting. It was a High Speed Rail Train that would have linked Milwaukee and Madison. You do remember that we HAD over 800 million dollars stacked up for the Talgo Trains and the jobs? Is all that memory coming back? And what did our glorious Governor Numb Nuts did with that money and the jobs and the trains? He gave it all away! The state got sued due to a breach of contact and it was THE biggest blunder ever! Wisconsin, you should have kept the trains. But you failed to follow the advice of Scott Walker. And those like Robin Vos and Alberta Darling. And did I mention that part of which of that dumb decision was geared towards racism? Let that sink in! After 6 years. That was also to help integrate the region. And many were worried that black folks would go to Jefferson County for coffee and donuts. Really?! And to do the math, Wisconsin’s black population is around 8%.

Oh, now that there is talk about using a Canadian Railway track to combine the Twin Cities, Milwaukee and Chicago for a Intercity Rail Route with Amtrak. That seems like an idea, but how is THIS is going to get paid? And the thing is, you got this Foxconn plant coming up, and they need some kind of transportation for Freight and also what about those who don’t drive, that live in far places, how are they are going to get to work? You see what I’m saying? Yeah let that REALLY sink in! And now Walker wants a train! So hypocritical.

Our Republican state hood “friends” really messed up. They realized it. Talgo at the time could have benefited ALOT of jobs. I visited the Talgo plant 5 years ago in the black community in the 2700 block at Townsend Street area, and wanted to see the HSR trains up close. They were good. With all the digital stuff and everything. Plus they worked hard on them! Our people. And the State shamefully gave it all up. All because they thought the tax payers would be on the hook for the vehicles. Or the personal favorite: boondoggles! “No one will ever ride it.” Um………you really think that Badger State? Better change your tune and repent. I hear mostly about the value of the trains on Black Radio like WNOV than 620 WTMJ or 1130 WISN. And let remind our Republican fans, not many in the state doesn’t have their own transportation! And Foxconn wants in. We’re unprepared. Matter of fact were unprepared in getting some of the highways and roads done. Which was LOOOONG talked about for years! Let that also sink in! Why you asked? Too many dang politics messing up. And dang is not a bad word.

At least the Milwaukee Streetcar is still on point.

All of this in my view needs the reexamination of what we really want to have in the state. And of course there will be questions. Like already as I speak, Foxconn is already being talked about but it should be talked about more in the areas of Milwaukee’s north side that can get more insight about what is going on. Especially when the state’s transportation system is on one leg losing to political standpoints so many times over!

For all of us got this love for Cecil The Lion, look I get it. But where is the same love about black folks in America getting killed by those in blue and have badges, and for no apparent reason?!

Just ponder and think about this:

image

Like I said, I get it! I get it. But I’m also asking those who are Animal Activists, and those who got love for Lions, where is your outrage when Sandra Bland was getting arrest inappropriately in a traffic stop in Texas? Where was your outrage when the likes of Steve Harvey’s Radio Show and Tom Joyner Morning Show disappeared from the airwaves in Milwaukee? And speaking of that, where is YOUR outrage when the City of Milwaukee itself has reached about 91 homicides this summer?! Anyone taking pointers on that? Go ahead. Try it!

It’s funny though that with all the major madness in the world going on, folks had to pick on the darn dentist in Minnesota (who did a crime in Wisconsin), is picking on him all because of an assassination of Cecil The Lion. Have I heard of Cecil The Lion? Nope. I’ve heard of Samson the Gorilla. Gertie The Duck. MGM’s Leo the Lion. Hank The Dog of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Oh wow, society!

OK, Animal Lovers. I get it. But still, think about what I said here!

And that goes double for so-called Milwaukee Lion too!

As indicated before I was supposed to post a blog letter to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. However that will be next. But since the issue of the Washington Post had risen up with Scott Walker and his viewpoints on how could Wisconsin can Teach Washington, per say, it promptly conveyed me to write this letter. So here goes:

Dear Washington Post Readers:

Its me Stephen, and I happen to be a black resident from Wisconsin. Yes, we do have black folks here.  6% to be exact.

I assumed that today that you probably read about Governor Scott Walker’s viewpoint on how Wisconsin could teach Washington about the political thing of budgets and compromise. And I’m sure that you had your say so via commentary.

But I’m here to tell you all this and this only: ITS TOTAL GARBAGE!

From his opinion piece, here he writes:  “When I ran for governor, the unemployment rate topped out at 9.2 percent and Wisconsin ranked 43rd on Chief Executive Magazine’s list of best states for business. Today, our unemployment rate has dropped to 6.7 percent and Wisconsin has moved up to 17th on the magazine’s list. Equally important, 94 percent of employers surveyed by the statewide chamber think Wisconsin is headed in the right direction,up from just 4 percent in 2009.”

And he comments this: “Tough but prudent decisions put us back on track. We enacted long-term structural reforms that include allowing schools to bid out health insurance, local governments to stop overtime abuse and the state to collect reasonable contributions for health insurance and pensions —all of which saved millions. Instead of austerity, we chose reform. At first, some legislative leaders balked at our plans. But we worked through their concerns and together we created legislation that not only passed but also produced positive results.”

Oh check this out: “Actually, this was the Wisconsin that newly elected legislative leaders and I inherited a little more than two years ago. Our state faced big problems. We were at a turning point. So together, the legislature and I worked to fix the economic and fiscal crises holding Wisconsin back.”

Read that last line: “the legislature and I worked to fix the economic and fiscal crises holding Wisconsin back.”  Holding Wisconsin back he says..What a bunch of crap out of the Governor who dropped out of Marquette University.

The other side of this is: Wisconsin is really near dead last when it comes to jobs. Around 38-50. Some of those “reforms” he failed to mention in leading to stripping the Unions of Collective Bargaining Rights. Slashing about billions of dollars in which public education was supposed to be useful. Even rejecting and stopping BadgerCare for about 90,000 plus residents. Refusing to take about 800 million dollars in which would have linked my home state with High Speed Rail, which we ALMOST had, but it was blown up by the so-called Tea Party Fans, their representatives and busted up by Walker himself. What that also did, opened up more dilemmas of segregation. If you don’t know, Wisconsin is nice state in all, but it can be segregated. Milwaukee, my home city is the most segregated city in the United States. If you ask anyone that has relocated to D.C. and they are from Wisconsin, ask them. The company Talgo, was the chosen train maker in order to provide the train cars for the High Speed Rail Project. The same company is now suing the State of Wisconsin for breach of contract. A huge no-no for the current Administration. If you recent got some trains and rail dollars, that mostly came from Wisconsin. In which the state rejected under this slash and burn Governor. Yes, I said “slash and burn governor” in the same sentence. Plus also he had the nerve to survive a recall last year in which he blamed for the lack of jobs. His jobs policies are the reasons why there aren’t enough jobs anyway. Remember, he said constantly about having this 250,000 jobs in which I think it will not happen. Plus also, ask the black residents of Milwaukee about Scott Walker and they’ll give you a comment that will not sit well with the conservative crowd here in Wisconsin. In regarding the jobs, many of the jobs around the area, is mostly in the Suburban districts, and not a bus line which is harder for those who don’t have a car, can’t get to the jobs.  Milwaukee has at least 50% of African-Americans are unemployed and need WORK! Want more proof? Listen to our progressive talk radio in Wisconsin. Or matter of fact: listen to a radio station called WNOV. Which you can listen to via the internet by doing a Google search. Or go to http://www.wnovmusic.com. This is the only black radio station that the badger state currently has. Most of the topics are focusing on Milwaukee and Wisconsin from a black point of view, but also from a black America viewpoint. The best times to listen to WNOV per say, would be 9am – 12pm Central time. Which would be 10am- 1pm your time. Or our Madison State Capitol connections have progressive talk radio that is mostly democratic, but useful.

This op-ed viewpoint of Walker is just crazy. Really he’s using this stunting thing in order in many here in Badger State have a thought of him running for President in 2016. Oh, did he mentioned that he has a book out, in which he pens his achievement rise to power above unions and boondoggles?  And plus this is the same guy that DROPPED OUT of College in the 90’s. Marquette University – The very same Marquette that had the famous Al McGuire of him winning the 1977 NCAA Finals. And also, Dwayne Wade went to the school before jumping ship to the Miami Heat. And the same Marquette University where one of our state’s Congresswoman named Gwen Moore attended and graduated! Some here in Wisconsin have been talking about her recently and ponder the question: Why is Gwen Moore’s name not being mentioned for the Governor’s chair in 2014? And plus Congresswoman Moore knows how to beat Scott Walker because she did against him in a State Assembly Race in 1990. If the phrase “Governor Moore” or Gwen Moore: Governor for Wisconsin per say would be good thing for a future Wisconsin, why not a future recognition for America. I know it’s wishful thinking, but hey it could happen if she feels is useful. But in the meantime, one challenger has stepped up from the Wisconsin Democratic Party by the name of Mary Burke. If those wondering, read my previous post about her, plus also do a Google search on her.  Just to pass along.

Washington Post readers: DO NOT BE FOOLED about what he had said in your Op-ed section. Many Republicans like him are just bragging about their successes but often fail at their of slashing and burning commentary. – Sort of like what Tom Barrett said years back when Walker was going for the Chair. He warned us: “Hang on to your hats!”  And the winds have picked up harshly. Walker talked about “What Wisconsin could teach Washington.” Maybe Washington could teach Wisconsin about governing, job creation, healthcare marketplace purchasing, environmental, and many other concerns and ideas in which the higher states are doing. Maybe President Obama can teach Walker about getting jobs, sustain educational views, and many others. And he used to teach in the schools!  Meanwhile that H.S. Diploma that Walker has is not working for tutoring. And plus if possible, I know some Wisconsin Democrats that can teach DC. Just saying. Good ones that is.

Even for a state like Minnesota that is already beating us Badger folks upside the head in jobs and economics.

Sincerely,

Stephen

Before I start: Let me say to those effect by the recent events of Tornado Disasters in Moore, Oklahoma: You will be back. You will rebuild. And you will rejoice. Even though that you may had lost your homes, your cars, or those you loved, you will bounce back. And those who want to help: Contact your local Salvation Army or the American Red Cross to find out how you can  donate.

Now: I want to talk country music. And the connections with African-Americans. The subject of the matter is centered around Darius Rucker, whom we know was the front man singer of Hootie and the Blowfish. And in the last couple of years he has been doing country music as a single artist. And he’s got love from the Country Music fans in regarding his new exploration of music. Now recently, there has been a backlash about him, a black man doing country music. Really?! Yes. On Twitter, Darius responded to a racist tweet that previously told him to “leave country to the white folk.”

Oh yeah, I think Darius handled that very well. Telling this “Twitter dude” how it is.

It’s time for me to do some education. And I want ALL folks, especially those who feel that country music should be reserved for whites and not blacks, pay attention. Throughout history, African-Americans or those of my African Heritage created all kinds of music. My race has been and still remains the OG’s when it the subject of music comes up. What I’m saying is that black people made Country, Jazz, Zydeco, Folk, Rock, Soul, Pop, Inspirational, Blues, Instrumental, Funk, Electronica, Ska, House, Hip-Hop, Rap, Vocal, and many other genres that most do and surprisingly, don’t do. But we started this! And everyone else copied. The issue of Country Music with African-Americans isn’t new. Artists like Charley Pride comes to mind. Who was, in the words of Martin Lawrence from his “Martin” days, “the first brother of Country”.

Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music Vol...

Here’s a game changer: Ray Charles, who was known for hits like “What I’d Say”, and mixing for the first time of Gospel and R&B (who many thought it was sac-religious)  also incorporated Country Western Music in his talent. Research, people.

English: Rissi Palmer Peforms at the Chicago M...

Oh check this out, a couple of years ago on the old Milwaukee Fox Blogs, I commented about Rissi Palmer, who was an upcoming singer in the Country Music Genre and she’s black. Her hit single, Country Girl caught on with interest in 2008.

https://i0.wp.com/ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61GEppXWt3L._SY300_.jpg

Lionel Richie, had a Country Album called Tuskegee in which he remixed some of his best hits with country singers like Brad Paisley, and Willie Nelson. Go research it.

Wait a minute: I almost forgot about Cowboy Troy. Yes, he’s more of a Country Hip Hop Artist in his own right.

And we know what Darius has done thus far in the Genre. So for those who think that Country Music should have a whites only pass required, just remember that it had a creation made by black folks! Many don’t realize that since making the move to Country Music, Darius Rucker had become the first African-American Artist to shine since Charley Pride to gain that notion of distinction. Hate to say it, but I don’t see Darius Rucker hanging up his Country Music Talent real soon. Despite of those who don’t like him or the genre. And I know that some might say “I get it.” Do they really? Or check this out from Rolling Out Website that has a section on Black Country Musicians.

Shifting gears for a moment: It’s time to talk Wisconsin Jobs. We know, or we should know that the ranking of Wisconsin Job Growth is not very good. Try 44th in the nation. Previously, the state was near number 11 by the time Scott Walker took office. And the sliding came at a fever pitch. Mainly because of Act 10, busting up the Collective Bargaining subjects of Unions, refusing a federal grant money for High Speed Rail, or slashing funds for education. And he says that Wisconsin is “Open for Business”.  If that were really true, we should see some jobs popping up left and right all over the state, including my home city of Milwaukee. Now, I have to give an ounce of respect to the State of Minnesota. Question: why Minnesota? At times I poke fun at the state in which the Vikings and Golden Gophers can’t hang with the Packers or Badgers. But job wise and economic wise, they are doing something that Wisconsin isn’t doing: Making the STUFF HAPPEN! In a recent article according to Sierra Club, the state just signed by their Governor Mark Dayton, a Clean Energy and Jobs Bill. Which involved Solar Energy. Plus, on the Collective Bargaining Front, according the SEIU, they have approved that for Home Care Workers. That’s good. With these things that I have brought up, is what I think Wisconsin SHOULD BE DOING! Even supporting Marriage Equality! Wisconsin had this out the pasture back in 2006. I think that with all this going on, should I move to Minnesota? If a state that is “Open for Business” in terms of display it is Minnesota. So I think that Wisconsin needs to stop fronting in terms of bragging with fantasy, and brag with truth! So far on the Wisconsin Job Count in the Private Sector: it’s at 62,072. In total for two years. Not near anywhere that 250,000 job count that Scott Walker imagined with looking at this High School Diploma!

I guess Walker should learn from Governor Mark Dayton in which that the lesson of making jobs should be sold, not passed up.

In regarding to Blacks and Country Music: check out this video courtesy of the Huffington Post and Marc Lamont Hill. The title: “Has Country Music Soul-ed out?” Yep. That is the title. Plus the The Root website has a story about this as well.

It’s time to go back and learn!
