As indicated before I was supposed to post a blog letter to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. However that will be next. But since the issue of the Washington Post had risen up with Scott Walker and his viewpoints on how could Wisconsin can Teach Washington, per say, it promptly conveyed me to write this letter. So here goes:

Dear Washington Post Readers:

Its me Stephen, and I happen to be a black resident from Wisconsin. Yes, we do have black folks here.  6% to be exact.

I assumed that today that you probably read about Governor Scott Walker’s viewpoint on how Wisconsin could teach Washington about the political thing of budgets and compromise. And I’m sure that you had your say so via commentary.

But I’m here to tell you all this and this only: ITS TOTAL GARBAGE!

From his opinion piece, here he writes:  “When I ran for governor, the unemployment rate topped out at 9.2 percent and Wisconsin ranked 43rd on Chief Executive Magazine’s list of best states for business. Today, our unemployment rate has dropped to 6.7 percent and Wisconsin has moved up to 17th on the magazine’s list. Equally important, 94 percent of employers surveyed by the statewide chamber think Wisconsin is headed in the right direction,up from just 4 percent in 2009.”

And he comments this: “Tough but prudent decisions put us back on track. We enacted long-term structural reforms that include allowing schools to bid out health insurance, local governments to stop overtime abuse and the state to collect reasonable contributions for health insurance and pensions —all of which saved millions. Instead of austerity, we chose reform. At first, some legislative leaders balked at our plans. But we worked through their concerns and together we created legislation that not only passed but also produced positive results.”

Oh check this out: “Actually, this was the Wisconsin that newly elected legislative leaders and I inherited a little more than two years ago. Our state faced big problems. We were at a turning point. So together, the legislature and I worked to fix the economic and fiscal crises holding Wisconsin back.”

Read that last line: “the legislature and I worked to fix the economic and fiscal crises holding Wisconsin back.”  Holding Wisconsin back he says..What a bunch of crap out of the Governor who dropped out of Marquette University.

The other side of this is: Wisconsin is really near dead last when it comes to jobs. Around 38-50. Some of those “reforms” he failed to mention in leading to stripping the Unions of Collective Bargaining Rights. Slashing about billions of dollars in which public education was supposed to be useful. Even rejecting and stopping BadgerCare for about 90,000 plus residents. Refusing to take about 800 million dollars in which would have linked my home state with High Speed Rail, which we ALMOST had, but it was blown up by the so-called Tea Party Fans, their representatives and busted up by Walker himself. What that also did, opened up more dilemmas of segregation. If you don’t know, Wisconsin is nice state in all, but it can be segregated. Milwaukee, my home city is the most segregated city in the United States. If you ask anyone that has relocated to D.C. and they are from Wisconsin, ask them. The company Talgo, was the chosen train maker in order to provide the train cars for the High Speed Rail Project. The same company is now suing the State of Wisconsin for breach of contract. A huge no-no for the current Administration. If you recent got some trains and rail dollars, that mostly came from Wisconsin. In which the state rejected under this slash and burn Governor. Yes, I said “slash and burn governor” in the same sentence. Plus also he had the nerve to survive a recall last year in which he blamed for the lack of jobs. His jobs policies are the reasons why there aren’t enough jobs anyway. Remember, he said constantly about having this 250,000 jobs in which I think it will not happen. Plus also, ask the black residents of Milwaukee about Scott Walker and they’ll give you a comment that will not sit well with the conservative crowd here in Wisconsin. In regarding the jobs, many of the jobs around the area, is mostly in the Suburban districts, and not a bus line which is harder for those who don’t have a car, can’t get to the jobs.  Milwaukee has at least 50% of African-Americans are unemployed and need WORK! Want more proof? Listen to our progressive talk radio in Wisconsin. Or matter of fact: listen to a radio station called WNOV. Which you can listen to via the internet by doing a Google search. Or go to This is the only black radio station that the badger state currently has. Most of the topics are focusing on Milwaukee and Wisconsin from a black point of view, but also from a black America viewpoint. The best times to listen to WNOV per say, would be 9am – 12pm Central time. Which would be 10am- 1pm your time. Or our Madison State Capitol connections have progressive talk radio that is mostly democratic, but useful.

This op-ed viewpoint of Walker is just crazy. Really he’s using this stunting thing in order in many here in Badger State have a thought of him running for President in 2016. Oh, did he mentioned that he has a book out, in which he pens his achievement rise to power above unions and boondoggles?  And plus this is the same guy that DROPPED OUT of College in the 90’s. Marquette University – The very same Marquette that had the famous Al McGuire of him winning the 1977 NCAA Finals. And also, Dwayne Wade went to the school before jumping ship to the Miami Heat. And the same Marquette University where one of our state’s Congresswoman named Gwen Moore attended and graduated! Some here in Wisconsin have been talking about her recently and ponder the question: Why is Gwen Moore’s name not being mentioned for the Governor’s chair in 2014? And plus Congresswoman Moore knows how to beat Scott Walker because she did against him in a State Assembly Race in 1990. If the phrase “Governor Moore” or Gwen Moore: Governor for Wisconsin per say would be good thing for a future Wisconsin, why not a future recognition for America. I know it’s wishful thinking, but hey it could happen if she feels is useful. But in the meantime, one challenger has stepped up from the Wisconsin Democratic Party by the name of Mary Burke. If those wondering, read my previous post about her, plus also do a Google search on her.  Just to pass along.

Washington Post readers: DO NOT BE FOOLED about what he had said in your Op-ed section. Many Republicans like him are just bragging about their successes but often fail at their of slashing and burning commentary. – Sort of like what Tom Barrett said years back when Walker was going for the Chair. He warned us: “Hang on to your hats!”  And the winds have picked up harshly. Walker talked about “What Wisconsin could teach Washington.” Maybe Washington could teach Wisconsin about governing, job creation, healthcare marketplace purchasing, environmental, and many other concerns and ideas in which the higher states are doing. Maybe President Obama can teach Walker about getting jobs, sustain educational views, and many others. And he used to teach in the schools!  Meanwhile that H.S. Diploma that Walker has is not working for tutoring. And plus if possible, I know some Wisconsin Democrats that can teach DC. Just saying. Good ones that is.

Even for a state like Minnesota that is already beating us Badger folks upside the head in jobs and economics.

Well America, I hope you realize that time was wasted. It was wasted because yet again, the case of the Birth Certificate resurrected and today was cut off like removing the head of a snake. Well that analogy I’m using is those like Donald Trump was betting on 1000.00 in the next market. Go ahead. Admit it America we wasted our tax dollars, our livelihoods, our own stuck up values of being better than others attitude is being wasted up. This is a flat out example of baiting. Race Baiting. That’s what this is about? In my last blog about this issue, I was approached by the comment that yes Donald Trump had a right to investigate and also (this got me) that saying “birth certificate” is not the same as “official certificate of live birth”. When I see a certified copy of any document, with a stamp or a seal, it is the same as being official. Period! Hate it or love it, I don’t care. But that is how I see it. When I took a trip to my county courthouse in Milwaukee years ago, I was in search of a copy of my birth certificate so I can use it to go over to Windsor, Ontario, Canada for a chance to explore the city. And by the way , Windsor is near Detroit, and I was successful at it. And by the way, it was a certified copy mind you. I didn’t hear of the word “birther” in 1999, OK?

So let me get this straight – so saying the words “birth certificate” is not the same as “Official Certificate of Live Birth?” Really?!!!  I challenge those to rethink that again. Especially those who commented that previously.

This whole birth certificate fiasco again is nothing more than a joke on us. Us as in ordinary Americans who work hard and go to school or college. Us as in going to church every Sunday to hear the word of God and learning to be a “giving society” than a “stingy society”. We are living in a stingy era where you have to “be like this” or “think like that”. Or you have to “show this to fit in with the in crowd”. Here is another one: “You don’t belong here because you don’t have this, or you should be on a basketball court of a football field for a job.” What about this: “You should be a rapper or baller, not a executive president.” I’m going there! Don’t start saying Amen yet! Now for Donald Trump, he messed up. He knows he messed up for real. And everyone who has been on the same track knows that they messed up.  Now “The Donald” wants to pursue the President’s Academic Achievements. For what? Just to see if he failed French 101? Or is it another example of racism? If you guessed the second part you might be right. More like in the sense of prejudice. That what this is. Think about the states (Wisconsin) that gave away High Speed Rail. Saying it was a boondoggle in all. And about having a chance for Health Care Reform, the others say that it’s a “hitleresque way of government take over”. Yeah remember that tea baggers? They say that it is hard for a black man. I know this for a fact. Alot of us had to take the hard long road to get where we are. We had to put up the the racist style tantrums, all because of the skin tone. Let me highlight Congresswoman Gwen Moore. After High School, she became a single mother and was on welfare for a while. But she (Unlike Scott Walker) also went and graduated from Marquette University. Look at the mirror, and come to realization that it is an attack on President Barack Obama.  Not just because he went to Harvard, or had been a teacher. Look at him. What color is he? Yep. There are haters in the temple. All that talk about “taking our country back” is no more than a dangerous smoke screen to get us messed up.

In three months, we Americans will have another chance to celebrate 235. 235 years of our independence. And the question is, after what has happened with this birther stuff, what will we be saying to our children? Yeah, the kids. What are we teaching them? If you have a child at home looking at this, it’s time to be a better parent, and a better role model to see that this form of racism, race baiting/birther talk over a document was just nothing more than being silly. How is this is helping the country? Really. How is THIS helping America? How is this helping the poor? How is this helping the economy, our education, jobs, health care, environmental issues, safety, and many other things that we need to get this country moving? This should be the main issues that America should be on it’s mind EVERY DAY! Not this stale Birth Certificate retread!

So today, the Birthers got a genie wish. But I think the President shouldn’t gave to them. But then again, if he had to use it to tell the birthers to go to Hades and burn, I hope they get a whole lot of sunscreen. This is waste of time. It’s a waste of tax-payer money,  and just a waste of time of important issues. Get it together, America!

Ok here goes. I’m going to unleash of what I feel about this potential project for our State. If you must know, the state is Wisconsin, and recently, most of us elected Ron Johnson for U.S. Senate, and for the Govenror’s chair: Scott Walker. The first priority of the so-called Governor elect is to kill the rail project that he feels that it’s “run away government spending”. No one will ride it. I say: Really? This is the same guy who couldn’t cut his way up to Marquette University and graduate with  a bachelor’s degree over 20 years ago. As Milwaukee County Executive, yes, he was somewhat good in the beginning by helping out, but something changed later in 2002: Scott Walker dumped the ideas of transportation by eliminating some of the bus routes, raising bus fares, and closing some county related senior centers. Although he had cut taxes in his proposals in all, but some had to raised. This is the same guy who absorbed the negative energy from the so-called Tea Party when Michelle Malkin was here several months ago talking about “taking back America”. I ask Wisconsin again: is this the real deal of getting our state back in motion again? Is Scott Walker really responsible of getting us state residents to “Believe in Wisconsin Again?” & “Wisconsin is open for business?” Yes, I believe in Wisconsin too, but I don’t believe in Wisconsin of lagging behind with the rest of the country. – Which is not businesslike.

About the rails: Of all the obejctives in his agenda, the now-Governor Elect want to kill the train project. He like many others in this state feel it’s a “boondoggle” in terms of it would not work, and no one will ride it in all. I have a question about that so called statement. How are you going to kill a project nor an idea that hasn’t been tried yet? HOW?!!!!!! Those who make statements like that, are just jumping the gun. Making assumptions of what those should hear than experience. And also it’s breathing laziness and bad behavior. Wow Wisconsin!

Already, Wisconsin is getting some national and regional attention about this project and we’re already getting laughed at, cussed at, and also dissed about our so-called Governor Elect and his so-called “People of Wisconsin” of dissing the Federal dollars for the rail project. That also tells us that we Wisconsinites are just petrified of making things anew. Sort of like fashion and hip hop music – which are locally related that is.

There was a time that Wisconsinites dreamed big. Faced opposition. Faced negativity, red tape and also willing to move FORWARD. Take 1996 for example: This was about saving the Milwaukee Brewers. Remember that? I remembered if the Brewers hadn’t built the stadium, Miller Park, they would move out of Milwaukee and relocate to another team name. What was the words that the fans chanted? Oh….what was that? I know that my memory has some cloudy effects: Wait, wait, wait! I know. Build it now!

Remember that Wisconsin? BUILD IT NOW!

The same motivation that carried when the against George Petak.  -BUILD IT NOW!

The same motiviation that carried for folks who wanted to have jobs working for TGI Fridays in the stadium. Remember that?! – BUILD IT NOW!

The same motivation for trying to get Milwaukee on the map for tourist attractions in all – BUILD IT NOW!

In my almost 34 years as a resident of this great state, I’ve seen setbacks, false starts, and now “boondongles”.  As a resident I feel to compelled to say this, “I’m Ashamed”. I’m totally ashamed of the folks who are an example of lagging behind. Wisconsin at times was a “daring state”. Daring to be different. Daring to change. But apparently, that has to be a thing of the past. On the flip side, at times we dared in some areas for tourists and interests. Now to question those who might question me: Are you going to ride the “Madison-Milwaukee” train if it becomes built in all? The answer: of course. Just to get a chance to leave my GT Pontiac Grand Prix at home so I can visit the state capital in a day or so. What’s wrong with that? And what’s wrong with the scenario of actually taking alternative transporation to Madison? What about using it to go to UW-Stout, my alma mater (distance education), Minneapolis, etc. What’s wrong with that?! NOTHING!

I’m sure about well who’s going to pay about 30 bucks a ticket round trip? – I ask is there going to be discounts, specials, what?!!! Hook a brother up!

At least for once, Congresswoman Gwen Moore is still in the house on this issue. She feels that this Talgo/Rail Project thing would boost Wisconsin’s employment opportunities. Specifcally here in Milwaukee where it’s ranked number 4 on being a poorest city. – On that, you can put the blame on the democrats all you want. But the republicans like Scott Walker, Jim Sensenbrenner, Paul Ryan, and others would share the blame too. That’s right I said it!

If Scott Walker were to be a real politican, here’s what I want to see. I want to see him, Gwen Moore, Ray LaHood, Tom Barrett, President Obama, Jim Doyle, Tommy Thompson, Frank Busalacchi, Russ Feingold (I know he was defeated in all) getting together along with this project – with the public. Since Scott Walker was all about that the people of Wisconsin don’t want this project to commence, I say he needs to listen to those who want to see this happen. He should talk to those who have been laid off, fired from work, those who are still seeking employment, making ends meet, those who are in college studying engineering, those who really feel that this rail project should happen HERE! Talk to those in the African American Community also! Talk to those who currently have a job now with Talgo and how it benefits their families. With all do respect to NY, Florida, and Illinois they’re all good states. But we need to hype up our own state. Look at it this way, if Wisconsin can save Harley-Davidson, we can save this. I never thought I say this, but put in the Republicans who WANT TO SEE HIGH SPEED RAILS BUILT in America. Including Wisconsin! There, I said it!

However, if we don’t continue this to happen, this would be a prime example of why Wisconsin can’t move FORWARD with the rest of America. Which in the eyes of the other states, would be shameful that Wisconsin can’t get it done. And those would share the blame would goes towards everybody in the state. Including Scott Walker.
