Ok. It’s a three way dance that it’s long awaited. This dance though, is so legit that will make the old school dances come back like killer clowns on Halloween. But anyway: it’s on. Take a number and just relax.

First on the card: Peter Feigin, the President of the Milwaukee Bucks made headlines recently on the comments he made about Milwaukee.

And he quotes the following statement:

Very bluntly, Milwaukee is the most segregated, racist place I’ve ever experienced in my life. It just is a place that is antiquated. It is in desperate need of repair and has happened for a long, long time. One of our messages and one of our goals is to lead by example.

Well. He’s telling the truth.

This is coming from the President of the Milwaukee Bucks, that was stated in a Rotary Meeting in Madison. My question is, why is there are those who felt shocked and appalled by what he said? If anyone knows the city like a book, it’s a well known factor that the city of the Good Land does have factors about segregation and racism and those factors have been so examined too many times. It’s the truth! And I don’t think that Peter should not have backed away or peddled away from his statement! Folks, I know what Peter Feigin may have said that must have set off fire alarms. But there is no denying that those alarms about the ongoing struggle of segregation in a city that was founded by three socialist mayors like Solomon Juneau, Byron Kilbourn and George Walker, and with the Festivals, the Brewers, Summerfest, and countless others.Yes Milwaukee’s ongoing problem with segregation still lingers. It’s not just black and white, anyone else of any ethnicity can be felt segregated while struggle. So I don’t feel that Peter Feigin shouldn’t be guilty of stating an ongoing problem that plagues the city. We in the city that are life long Milwaukeeans: we know. You former Milwaukee Residents that moved and never came back or rarely make visits, I’ll agree that you also know. Even if you rarely visit if you live in the suburbs, or Madison. But know this, the issue of this problem is not just Milwaukee, it’s all over the place. Sorry for the Spoiler Alert, but racism is in America’s DNA. No matter how scary it is. Is there segregation in Atlanta? Chicago? What about the Twin Cities? Texas? Or another well known city like NYC or Miami? Or a well known spot internationally? Come on now! Tell the truth! Even though the big whigs don’t want to admit it, but it IS the truth! Folks can back track all they want. Or tell those “dont’ bring that up!  Just do your job and don’t discuss it”. And for those who picked this up in New York, Chicago, MSN Websites, and many others that are a bit shocked on a journal scale, why are you surprised that Milwaukee has this problem?

Stop the pain!

It’s going to get brought up as a CONSTANT reminder that racism exist. It’s real as a headlock. In which I’ll continue more in the second card.

Second card: Yes: real racism does exist.

We all know this. Yesterday, I was listening to The Forum on WNOV. And as I was listening to a segment in regarding racism. We all know that yes, Milwaukee or this instance the Greater Milwaukee Area is no stranger to the effects of Segregation and of course, again racism period. As was listening to the segment, the exact segment about a certain caller whom believed that there is no such thing as “real racism”. After listenting to that one little snippet, this caller must be drunk! SERIOUSLY! And the caller is from West Allis. The same West Allis like where the Wisconsin State Fair is located. And West Allis like the areas of the outliners of the burbs in the area is mostly Republican. But the issue here is RACISM! For all of you callers or speakers whom call into a Black Radio Station clamining that racism doesn’t exist, then you must be AGAIN drunk! I had my experience of racism 6 years ago when I got a letter from Reed vs Dresser in regarding a Civil Rights Case in regarding the issue of the company that DID NOT allow African-American Applicants to train or hire to work for their company! This is true white people! I remember handing in a resume of mine way back around the mid-2000’s  actually 2006 at a job fair in Pewaukee. And also I applied for a job online (on Dresser’s Website) a year later to find work. Then August 2010 came which I got a notice that based on the results of the documented proof, I was one of the 300+ African-Americans that did not got a job based on the fact it was due to racism. So like many others who got that letter, I filled out a form with my detailed info, submitted a copy of my Drivers License in all and mailed both the form and DL Copy to the company in Florida. When October came, in which it was the day after the so-called holiday of Columbus Day, I picked up the mail from my parents house and one of the mail had my name on it. And it was from the Reed vs Dresser company and I was awarded a check of $5,000. I was BLOWN AWAY!!  And all of this was a direct result of me being a job seeker; no a African-American Job Seeker got disrespected all because of racism of looking for a job! In the Greater Milwaukee Area. And you got these so-called white folks who think that racism doesn’t exist. WAKE UP! I’ve mentioned this before on the blog many times, and it’s becoming a still constant reminder about that there are companies here in the area, as well as America that doesn’t want to hire applicants of color! What’s the Plan B in all of this? Either find a job that really doesn’t do the hate thing on hiring, or find your own job by employing yourself. Be your own boss. Be your own CEO. And when you do that, you are doing you. Nothing wrong with that. And your haters who refuse to hire folks of color will be embarrassed. And probably these are the same folks who are in HR are probably those who are doing the “judging hiring” of African-American applicants of not getting in. I’ll bet 40 dollars that is taking place in some of these companies that are looking to be filled with this concern. I told you so! Think I’m joking? Look at the rate of jobs that don’t hardly hire black folks within the last couple of years and that should tell those as proof of evidence. And oh, may I add that those who per se are telling those that there are those in the African-American Community are lazy, don’t want to work, yadda yadda yadda. But when the issue of race and employment (pre employment) comes up via the African-American prospective concern, that is another monster that still needs to be taken down. Even in the year of 2016 and beyond.

Third listing on the card: Millennials, you need to vote up.

For all the Millenials out there, even if you love reading my blog in your classes on your smartphones, I don’t usually ask this but why many of you between 18-34 are not planning to vote in this election? Really, what’s up with that. It’s obvious that yes we face the most difficult election that we know. And yes for President Obama, it’s his last lap as the number 1 guy in The White House. We know! And I know MANY of you probably have mixed bag feelings about the likes of Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Jill Stein and Gary Johnson all want that chair at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I know many of you probably aren’t going to vote because the issues probably don’t match yours. Well Millennials: what are your “Concerns” that is effecting you right now? Yeah hashtag that! Is that Bernie Sanders mantra got you down because you wouldn’t vote up for Hillary? Or are you ACTUALLY believe that non-voting will help your problems? Ummm…..to answer those questions is like being on the wrong side of the fence. Or in this case just making a case of nothing. You Millennial folk who are assuming that voting up will not change nothing or assuming that not voting will make you cool at home: STOP! Please stop thinking what your friends have been saying about voting wont work because IT CAN WORK! Ok so many of you don’t like all or some of the candidates. BIG DEAL! But still you have to make your votes count on the ballot by or on November 8th of this year! You probably have heard or somewhat read it on your smartphone or tablet that well: many men and women fought and died for their right to vote! Even black men and black women (especially to my millennial black folks) FOUGHT HARD to vote and with you not voting is like a slap in the face of Martin Luther King, Medgar Evers, Fannie Lou Hamer, Malcolm X, and many others that all equal rights to voting is on the table and YOUR RIGHT to vote up is included! Frankly, I don’t care about the stances of Hillary, and yes Donald Trump scares me also. If many of you don’t vote, I hate to call you out on this but: many of you are acting selfish. That’s right I said it! Many of you in that age gap are SELFISH that many of you will not cast your vote in this election. Not only it’s selfish, or a slap in the face, but it is the ultimate disrespect that many of you will chose by not voting. On a personal note: SHAMEFUL!

Y’all on these social media sites and texting like crazy on your smartphones, and here you are not voting. Give me a break!

  • Do any of you care about your communities?
  • Do any of you ACTUALLY care about your Healthcare needs? Jobs? Your Alumni? Or that rent? Or those books?
  • Do any of you care about real jobs, not those Burger King/McDonalds/Pick N Save type jobs working for your teenager titles?
  • What about those causes that you ACTUALLY care about? And don’t say the environment only!
  • Do any of you care about the actual donations given?
  • What is it going to take, Millennials? Are you going to sit on Election Day, or WILL YOU ACTUALLY VOTE?!

When I was in your age bracket between 18-35 or 18-34 I voted up. I registered to vote when I was 18 years old in High School. Between 18 years old and now, I know that the use of voting still lingers. I first casted my ballot at 19 and also yes, like many others, Bill Clinton was chosen for his second term. Plus also unlike many who don’t know, I also voted in smaller elections like judges, school board supervisors, mayors, county executives, state legislatures, state senators, city alderpersons, governors, congressmen or congresswomen, referendums, etc. I’ve have done the voting thing since 1996 and I have NOT STOPPED SINCE! Me taking the day off to vote and sit at home is selfish act. You think it’s selfish for not going to the doctor is bad only? Think again!

Millennials, those of you coming after Gen-X like a dark horse: Between now and November 8th and I say this as one of those that got you started: GET OUT AND VOTE!!!! There are no excuses! Nevermind your plans for November 8th, and the post -Obama era, and nevermind about your personal feelings of who’s best and not casting a ballot. I urge all of you 18-35 or whatever TO GET OUT AND VOTE! Period. I don’t know what devil(s) you’re paying attention to, but the devil is a liar!

Hashtag that. I’ll bet you might not.

This is for all my University of Wisconsin folks: The Real UW though, it’s a story that needs to be called and conversated. I was like many in Wisconsin last week, looking at the footage of the Vice Chancelor of Diversity, talking about a note that was left by some faceless cowards, that read some explicit languages about a some sort of threat.

For those whom have not heard the message, I want those to hear what the Vice Chancellor had to say. Be warned: this message contains explicit language. Get the kids out the room now.

This is just one example of what the College Campuses or Universities that are facing each day. The last time I visited UW-Madsion was way back in the 90’s. 1993 and 1994 when the Badgers Football Team was on point back then.Camp Randall Stadium. And I was with the Special Education students while in High School in Milwaukee. But this was when, Badger Football got me hooked. And have been for 23 years.

I have had some friends, some colleges, and those I know in a sense graduated from UW and keep that Badger Red flowing with their careers, activities, and giving back to those less fortunate. And I had some that worked for UW also.

But after seeing this so called note and those whom like to hide behind notes, it’s not about the giving back thing. It’s basically about having those conversations that this campus as well as any campus in the nation is having about race. For you current college students at UW, if you think stuff like this is bad, wait until you graduate and get those jobs. Those on the outside will not give a rat’s butt about your livelihood, career, or even your race! And you’ll see what they really are. This is not the classroom or residence hall. This real world, is just that. But don’t let that stop you.

Now in another sense, there is hate from the student or students who just have that same hate that many in their families probably went through the same thing. Oh, yes the colleges and universities are full of them! Even though that Easter passed, how many of these families whom had their kids being sent to college had this haterism against those of a different race because they were black? And it’s a popular college where most know? Again it’s mostly known.

Just last year, you remember the SAE Fraternity on Oklahoma’s Campus? The popular one. Yeah, that one.

Recently the Vice Chancellor had an updated video after the first one surfaced:

Plus also, an update of the story came forward when a current student was a target of the incident.

Folks, this is what happens when cowards are just that: Cowards! They hide behind the statements and try to scare away folks who are up for the chance to shine. This incident, was according to the story in Madison, was not about hating on Hillary or Bernie. This was about an issue that many know all to well, but it’s not been heard or shown. If you are a Alum of UW, you probably need to hold your donation money! That’s right hold that donation money. And while you Alums of UW are holding your money, you need to let your Alma Mater know that this story out of the campus is unacceptable and it needs to be dealt with. I know many of you, are proud Badger Alums and you take it seriously. Nothing wrong with that. BUT you need to hold your Alma Mater accountable! When UW-Stout had it’s racial incident years ago about a then 19 year old black female that was a target of racism, of course that it was talked about and summarized. But how has that improved since that incident that sparked? Also this part of the story has nothing to do with The Real UW story, but UW-Stout had an instructor that displayed signs and slogans of trauma, and killing folks once. And the thing is, the instructor was warned about this many times from the UW-Stout Police and the previous Admininstration. But one of the quotes was from a show called Firefly! A one sesason, Sci-Fi, TV show. And I remember also when that story broke out on Facebook, there were some Stout Alumni indicated that if the teacher didn’t get his job back, they were NOT going to donate any dollars to the school! OH YES THEY DID!

How was that resolved? The administration backed out and backed down that it wasn’t a real meaning to hurt those in a real physical sense. And yes he got his job back. But if that was black teacher that did those things of display, no job. Fired. Pink slipped handed away and out of the door. But we don’t want to see that now do we?

What we are talking about, is a dumb college kid that snuck a letter of hate all because the black student were calling out the Racism in a Big Ten University like UW-Madison! So if a black student at a well known or not well known college or university got a note from a faceless coward, is that person going to back down and move? Probably not.

But in all cases, the talk of racism is real. And it comes in many forms. Verbal, Visual, and many others. And it’s still real as a all white suburban neighborhood. Or the inner city. Or many others. Even at a job that many will not take due to being black in America!

Even Bucky has to realize that it will take more than a few pushups at the Kohl Center and Camp Randall to get the convo started. Just saying.

Don’t get me wrong, I like UW-Madison. But still, The struggle continues! And that is a part of #THEREALUW that many need to know and do to rise up.

Three way dance here. You know what time it is!

For the kickoff of the year 2015, I’m going to start off with three things that had me bugging since the New Year started. A Facebook Hoax going wild and many of you Facebookers have probably done it. Note to the Kanye West fans: I know who Paul McCartney is. And plus, I’ll dab in on the recent life and legacy of the late great Booyah man himself, Stuart Scott.

First Dance: For all of the folks who had to login on Facebook this morning. Who has typed this?

Today, January 4, 2015 in response to the Facebook guidelines and under articles L.111, 112 and 113 of the code of intellectual property, I declare that my rights are attached to all my personal data, drawings, paintings, photos, texts etc… published on my profile. For commercial use of the foregoing my written consent is required at all times. Those reading this text can copy it and paste it on their Facebook wall. This will allow them to place themselves under the protection of copyright. By this release, I tell Facebook that it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, broadcast, or to take any other action against me on the basis of this profile and/or its contents. The actions mentioned above apply equally to employees, students, agents and/or other staff under the direction of Facebook. The contents of my profile includes private information. The violation of my privacy is punished by the law (UCC 1 1-308 – 308 1 – 103 and the Rome Statute). Facebook is now an open capital entity.

All members are invited to post a notice of this kind, or if you prefer, you can copy and paste this version. If you have not published this statement at least once, you will tacitly allow the use of elements such as your photos as well as the information contained in your profile.

Don’t raise your hands at once. If’ you are one of the many, many Facebook users that copied that and pasted the message to your wall or made a statement about it in some form or some way: you have been tricked.

Led astray.

Bamboozled.

Hookwinked.

Got owned.

Or in this case, you have been served.

That message is nothing more than a mere hoax. Stop that! That was a mere hoax last year, in which many didn’t catch it, but now it’s real clear that mysterious message like chain letter is a trick just to get your goat! Again, stop that! Man, what is up with these dumb letters? Whoever is behind all of this, is just wasting time. Clearly it’s all bull with the fact well, you’re broke, no job, no bill paying, not to mention to lift a hand to support a bill, or any other thing that has nothing to do at all.

Clearly, from the sources of ABC News: “Here’s the thing: Facebook doesn’t own your posts. Under the social network’s privacy policy, they have the right to distribute and share the things a user posts, subject to their privacy and application settings. (Check out Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities here.)”

Look here, when we sign up for Facebook to use on our discretion, whatever we post on there: Pictures, Videos, Quotes, Links, thoughts on the war, or any other thing we share, they are in the right to share that via the privacy posts that we set. You know like those certain beer pictures that you probably have in which might get you fired from your jobs or giving organizations, yeah think about those. We post it. They share it. That simple. So again for those of us who are in this denial that our posts and pages maybe affected, our profiles are fine! To me, posting that message per say is like playing a practical joke just to get all folks riled up over a non-factual statement. So tell your friends that the message this morning is a trick. Don’t believe the hype!

Second Dance: If you are under the age of 30, and you listen to Kanye West, clearly you might be in the crowd somewhere that you might be asking about the legendary Beatle himself, Paul McCartney. No, not Jenny McCartney. You young Kanye Fans out there, have you ever done a thing called GOOGLE? That thing that most of you do most of the time? Yeah, that thing. Now I don’t have to tell you about how to get on google and do a search. I mean you Kanye Fans know how to do this! COME ON! And that thing called Wikipedia, where you can look up people, places, things, ideas, in all? I’m sure you probably done that. Or if Paul McCartney’s group has a website named after the Beatles, um………hello! THEY DO! Just do the websearch of “thebeatles.com” and you can see all of their work ranging from music, videos, hey you can even buy some stuff on their website. And yes, you can find out about who Paul McCartney was and is via his previous work.

Speaking of that: Many of us who are over 35, may remember this song he did with oh, what’s his name…….Listen up or watch the clip and listen good.

http://vimeo.com/37202934

Yes. Michael Jackson. The King of Pop himself in a video called “Say, Say Say”. Plus, Micheal Jackson and Paul McCartney did a collaboration song together called “The Girl Is Mine” on Michael’s Thriller Album. Again this was in the 80’s in which many of you weren’t even born! Who was born in 1983? Better learn folks! Remember the Moonwalker Video in which he did a mini concert on stage and song was called “Come Together?” That song is a Beatles Classic.

Now do we understand this or nah? I’m sure many of you probably heard of Paul McCartney’s son. You know who he is right?

And the last thing on the card: Stuart Scott

For all of my Generation X folks, yes we are shocked! Yesterday as I was getting ready for church, I looked on my Facebook newsfeeds that Stuart Scott died at age 49. We all know him as the sportscaster that changed the game of sportscasting with a flavor of hip hop to it. Oh, and they say that Hip Hop is bad. Really? I too had my sayings of BOOYAH! many times when I made the grades, made the points scored on the Video Games, made any good thing that was so good in terms of making a positive point. Again: BOOYAH!

Stuart was also a member of a prestigious club. The fraternity of Alpha Phi Alpha in which it’s part of the Divine 9 BGLO’s.

Growning up watching him, he repped his game well. I can’t say nothing bad about him. Stuart Scott had a gift. Not just the catchphrases or his suits and ties, or his work and Family. To me, I just like seeing another black man like him doing his work and being appreciated for his value of work was really an accomplishment. He earned it. Which no one, and I mean NO ONE can’t take away from him. Now  I know I’m injecting the black man mantra in this, but with all the mess about black men being labeled as n*ggas and not being in this and that, or not being good when it comes to women, (some black women per say) can any positive story about black men be told? Just saying! When his announcement of his cancer cameback numerous times and as he progressed his work, he never stopped. He kept going to the best of ability. No matter what happened, he wanted to be show others that having cancer may have slowed him up, but it has never stopped him for doing his work! Sometimes there are no excuses.

We all seen the ESPYS Award in which he got honored in July, 2014. Some were probably concerned about him, the way he looked in all. But Stuart himself had to let the folks know, he was not going to let a cancer disease get in his way. He was first diagnosed in 2007. He held on the fight for the last 7 – 8  years. And yesterday, after all of his battles, and fights with cancer, he was gone. 49 years old. Many are saying that it’s too soon. 49 years old is not an age to die from. But most of us heard in church that we don’t know when the good Lord calls us home. If its God’s time, its God’s time. We don’t know if the people that we know well who were around in 2014, may not be around in 2015. We don’t know, y’all! Here in Milwaukee, the city has racked up 2 homicides and some shootings in the start of the New Year. We don’t know! So yes, 2015 like many years before will have ups and downs. Every year, there will be ups and downs. That’s not just sports. It’s life. They say we need to celebrate life, well should we? With him be gone, he doesn’t have to suffer no more. No more of those therapies, or medicine or any other thing that he suffered. NO MORE! That is positive side of his transition.

For many, Stuart Scott to me will be a black legend that changed the game of sportscasting. I want all the future sportscasters to know this. Especially those who are black – we know that Black History Month is next month. And many are about to highlight the careers and achievements of African-Americans or black folks in general alike. Even more. I want all of you, no matter the level of school you are in, put Stuart Scott on your list. And if the folks ask you why Stuart Scott you tell them why! And also when making that presentation or that pictorial subject, be clear of what made you pick him or what inspired you to talk about him. And if you are going into the broadcasting game, just have one word in your office, or on your door that anyone can bring up. Booyah!

This is the last blast of summer vacation. Hard to believe. Even though that many are on the highways and byways, airways and train going on that last vacation run before most or some of the kids go back to school or resume college classes. Also, it’s a time to reflect on us who do the four letter word: W-O-R-K. That’s working. Either for the check, or for the knowledge of volunteering. Now why I’m including volunteers? They work. However, this blog letter is for us working folk that punch the time clocks and get that paper or knowledge for the family household. Or single life.

Dear Workers of America (and Volunteers)

It’s me Stephen. Black blogger by hobby, not by trade from the brew city of Milwaukee.

Yes, its our day. Labor Day. A day set aside to get some rest and breather for us working folks. We know who we are. Those of us who work 40 hours, 30 hours, 20 hours, 12 hours, full time, part time, independent contractors, business owners and all, this day is for us to chill.

Even though we work as secretaries, janitors, drivers, teachers, media personalities, and many many other jobs, this day is for us to chill.

The last time I wrote a blog of Labor Day, was back in 2012. At the time, I was acknowledging the working folks and also: volunteers. Plus also I had to address those who like to scam folks and get reported to the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Protection Departments. For the record on that: that same company that gave me those past threats, have NOT contacted me and stayed out of sight. So for those who think that scamming folks with jobs and money is the thing to go, just a warning to say that you are always on watch! I don’t care if it’s an self making money website that guarantees $3,000 per month and being independent. That has to be watchful.  And no they don’t get a Labor Day. EVER!

For us to do the thing everyday and legally, it’s for us. We get it.

Now I have to address the volunteers. Even though they don’t paid like the others, but they do work! And yes if you are a volunteer, to me this day is also about you. Many of you that volunteer your services out of your time that deal with people, places, things, or ideas. And yes, payments aren’t valid. However the more you give out of your time, is a blessing always. So for those who are volunteers for life, hey enjoy this Labor Day Holiday. Plus I have another group folks that I have to acknowledge, the students who already have a job that go to class and get their education on. Yes, students you in those classrooms right now either living on college campuses or in your parent’s house, you have a job that labors towards your educational goals! And even those who are seeking work like 24 hours per day/7 days per week and still networking like clockwork, that is a job itself. And yes, that is a job that labors your chances to get hired. Despite of the barriers of unemployment, credit checks, overqualified statuses, bad political advice of a certain amount given, (i.e. 250,000 private sector jobs) and other concerns that hinders workers not getting those jobs.

So as we get to feel that last blast of Summer Vacation, and feel the opportunity to go back to work and school, Laboring always matters. Plus Football!

Sincerely,

Stephen

In between the investigation, protest, and new action in Ferguson, it’s becoming more clear that the acts given are coming more into light, one by one. We have seen the protests, the reaction of the people, the reaction of Captain Ron Johnson, and many others over the course of the weekend. Plus also yes, Rev. Al Sharpton was on hand as well. We’ve seen them.

Speaking of Capt. Ron Johnson and his leadership efforts, don’t assume he’s this black Highway Captain being taken for this so-called Puppet mess. Now I have comment on those who feel he’s being “used to display” in all. First of all, this is the first time I’m seeing a black highway captain taking action with those effected by Michael Brown’s murder. Matter of fact, Michael Brown’s murder according to the wires is now a Civil Rights Violation. But there was something about this Highway Captain and him reciting the scripture featuring Jesus and Peter. Now, I know that there are some “Non-Believers in Religion” readers here, but this man, is acting upon his faith, (HIS FAITH) to take charge and to lead the cause of solving an idea to get Ferguson back to normalcy. Not only that, I hope that his faith would enable other black men, black women, black boys and yes black girls to be more in tuned in our own communities. Now don’t assume that the Highway Captain can do it all by himself. He can’t. It takes a team effort, a united front if you will, to get this on track positively. Hopefully with the will of faith, not the badge will enlighten him to take this further for him and  for those that have an united front in the city.

Similar to Ferguson: Milwaukee knows. Several months ago, a black man named Dontre Hamilton was also gunned down for no reason. Even though this was in April of this year, but it is a similarity. Only two things are different: he was gunned down numerous times approximately 15 at Red Arrow Park in downtown Milwaukee near a park bench. And also, he was 31 years old. Plus also the news article was noted that he was “running scared” due to his condition of schizophrenia at the time. And yesterday in the city, there was a protest took place downtown in solidarity with the Michael Brown case, but also Dontre’s name was mentioned as well. And like similar cities, Milwaukee was and is in the spotlight in concerning about the legality of police actions towards unarmed and I mean “UNARMED” young black men.

Speaking of Unarmed: This piece by Melissa Harris-Perry was really powerful. And if the critics, or should I say those in denial aren’t getting it, pay attention.

This is not some smoke and mirrors philosophy. Or some bull story. This footage highlighted 10 years of black men being unarmed while being killed by the police. No matter what they done previously. They were all unarmed. For those who are young, black, male and gifted thinking “it may not be me” running around with the pants sagging below your waistline or whatever listening to Lil’ Boosie or Young Jeezy; screaming out n*gger word this and that or I’m going to rape this chick mentality, or swapping drugs left and right with Flat Panel TVs or XBoxes; guess what, if the other folks who will look at you like that, might be thinking the obvious. They will LOOK AT YOU! I’m just saying.

And I want to point out more about these so-called folks calling other black folks “coons” in all. Now I will admit there are black folks who will not take up the cause or turn away from a cause while being black. But when I see those of a Rev. Al Sharpton who has been in the struggle for years, lot of folks had to call him out being a coon. Gilbert Arenas the former NBA player had to bring him out on that. Correct me if I’m wrong, did Gilbert Arenas had a gun issue that got him in trouble in the first place? And nearly derailed his career in basketball? Hmmmm…….. who’s the coon now?! Some might say, he’s expressing his opinion and Its none of my business. I hate to say this to conscious like folks but it’s everyone’s business because he put himself publically out there like that! Strike one. James Brown used to say in one of his songs, “talking loud and saying nothing.” Whether you agree or disagree with Al Sharpton’s point of view of activism, or sense of activism, and I know it’s a half and half viewpoint, just the respect the fact, he is still active today. Rev. Jesse Jackson like him or not, is still active today. Martin Luther King III, like him or not, is still active. I may get some conflicted viewpoints, but I’m telling the truth. Those in denial, understand that! You young bucks need to respect the elders. Don’t EVER push them aside so you can be first! That is not how it works. Whether you like them or not, they are elders!

Several years ago, I wrote a blog on this WordPress thingy about where are the new Civil Rights Leaders? And I remember commenting about you don’t have to be a member of the King/Farris Families, or Malcolm X’s Family to be a Civil Rights Leader. You can be a unknown person and start up being a civil rights leader from a family that has not been even mentioned. And still fight for the causes of Civil Rights. I dare to ask this: Are any of your children, who are in school now, and will be growing up, be able to stand up for civil rights in the future? All that talk about taking shots at Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson ain’t going to cut it! It’s not! I don’t care what Gilbert Arenas said. I don’t care what the commentators who love to go on Roland Martin’s Facebook Page and comment about others not doing jack, and him talking and tweeting about what’s up. Even on the Afro Newspapers, Black Enterprises, or better yet I’m surprised that folks like J. Cole, Missouri Native Nelly (YES NELLY) and even Millennial BET Host Keke Palmer has lend their support of this new struggle in Ferguson. My other question, what about the others who are about all the money for fame? Where they at? We know who they are. No need for names. Or those who do the complaining, what have they done? Other than going on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and many others who had to input their thoughts and do NOTHING! You can make up all the comments all you want, but have you actively got involved in the cause? And the keyword is ACTIVELY. That means you got to be in for the long haul, not just three weeks behind the computer or cellphone. This is not a reality show here. It’s real life. And even in real life, like anything else involves going to a ballot box to vote. Just as a reminder, 2014 is a voting year. If you don’t like what’s going on in concerning an issue, either Vote Up or write letters. How hard that can be? And no, it doesn’t involved going on Facebook airing it out. That’s way too easy.

But wait a minute here: not everyone does like to vote. Not everyone isn’t going to vote because many believe that all the politicians lie and get away with bloody murder. But when you see situation like in Milwaukee, Ferguson, St. Louis, New Orleans, Los Angeles and many others have been felt by unarmed black males (and sometimes unarmed black females) being killed, this is one example that voting should not be put off the table for anything. If you don’t speak up with your ballots, this is what you get. Full of arguments, riots, looting, shootings, tear gas, multiple arrests of 90 year olds, melees of crowds, and many others. And also, what was up the photographers and even news folks like  getting almost arrested per say of doing their job as reporting?! I don’t understand that.

Yesterday, Obama had to comment this part in regarding Ferguson: Giving into anger by looting or attacking police ‘undermines instead of advancing justice’. For the record, yes the President is fully aware about the hub bub problems about Ferguson. And no folks, it’s not about Robin Williams this time. U.S. Presidents for years commented about recent deceased well known actors or actresses or famous folks who took on the world. This is nothing new. Yes, you can be mad or disappointed at President Obama by giving his remarks on Robin Williams all you want to, but that’s not going to cut it. Just had to say that. In his viewpoint he was very careful. Plus he had a point about those being angry and looting aren’t gonig to solve problems. He also said that Michael Brown’s murder in relation to the Police getting him killed is “no excuse”. No matter what it was. And he’s right on the money. Now there are those who are asking, should the President go to Ferguson? Should he leave the White House Oval Office, get into his limo, board Air Force One, go to the Ferguson area and see what is up in person? Should he or shouldn’t he? We know that AG Eric Holder is going. Now if the AG is on the list to go, it’s automatic for the President to make his presence felt through him. But in situations like this, even though it might be a thought, but he has to be very careful on that. The last time he wasn’t careful without knowing enough per say, was when Henry Louis Gates got arrested by the Cambridge Police in which they thought, he was breaking into a house, which was his house! This kind of lead to the infamous beer summit if you will. In which all sides had to learn from. But this incident is no beer summit.

This act has been felt for about 10 days. And if it’s not bad enough, the summary of it has been passed to St. Louis in which a 23 year old black male was shot by the Police today. if this does not send shock waves then I don’t what will. Also this has grown from a senseless murder to confronting the ideals of police brutality. Even racism. Even many other things that demand justice!

For the brothers and sisters in Ferguson and St. Louis: yes the world is watching. Milwaukee is watching. Many other cities in the region and the hemisphere are watching. Many may not get it. But in regarding this, prayers are sent for safety and overall peace for your cities. And even more thoughts for Michael Brown’s family. Keep the message and the conversation going until EVERY American (even those who are in denial of black folks) should understand even more.

#HANDSUPDONTSHOOT

I know I’m a little late on this, but there no reason for me to express the viewpoint of mine with the Police of NYPD and Ferguson are in hot water of their recent “mistakes” of taking out black men.

I’ve heard this in the 90’s and I’m saying this to every Black Male reading this blog: We are an endangered species!

I REPEAT: WE ARE AN ENDANGERED SPECIES!

For you young black brothers who think it’s not true, or being part of the smoke screen, it’s not really reality until it happens to you. Or close to you!

First, that chokehold incident by the NYPD on the late Eric Garner was just ridiculous. I mean really? Oh, what cops can put innocent black men on chokeholds now? Making them pass out and die on the spot? Really?!!! This dude, Eric Garner was just 43 years old. A father of six. And from what I understand was a peacemaker. And worked for the city during his tenure. But his funeral in New York wasn’t just a homegoing, it was also a rally cry to act. Yes, even Rev. Al Sharpton had to say what needed to comment during the funeral. We all know what he had to say. And also the idea of those “officers” who put a guy like Eric in a Chokehold, and put them on desk duty, is nothing more to say, “Oh, I’ll put them on desk duty…..”  Those officers need to have their badges and their jobs revoked. I’m sorry NYPD it needs to be said. They need to be removed as officers of the law, they need to have their jobs, badges, guns, or any other earned thing they got with their badges and guns need to be, GONE! This police brutality crap has gone beyond shameful. Especially on innocent black men like the late Eric Garder. And dude was just 43 years old.

Now, it’s been reported and I’m sure many of you have been following thus far: Ferguson. We all know by now about 18 year old Michael Brown being shot by the Ferguson Police in the same week when we mourned and reflecting the life of Robin Williams. Look here, I got respect for Robin Williams and he was one of the best funny comedians that lived. We all remembered those Mork and Mindy days, Comic Relief, the USO, and even Live on Broadway, in which he got explicit in his jokes. But he was real funny! The last commercial I remembered out of him was a Snickers Commercial surrounded by a Football Team and saying “We win this for Mother Russia!” in a Russian accent per say. Very Talented. His death of apparent suicide had sparked us in shock. This reminds me of Don Cornelius killing himself in Black History Month in 2012 with a gun at 75 years old! And many ask like, why would a 75 year old man would kill himself? It’s also like asking why would someone who had all that success would just go away like that? Another revelation about Robin’s dilemma was that he was diagnosed with early Parkinson’s Disease. And we’re mourning him and honoring his memory. He ran his race for 63 years of his life.

What does that have to do with Michael Brown? Mostly nothing. But he was shot by the police. And to think, this young dude was supposed to be in a college classroom right now! But no, he had to get shot by some misguided Ferguson Police Officers. Namely Darren Wilson. Probably they thought he was just some thug that was starting up trouble to look suspicious or to generate fear. And to have it all out of the way just because of him looking like whatever. This story to me goes along what Renisha McBride, and countless others had gone through the same thing. Plus also his body was lying in the street well after he was killed and received no medical attention for about 4 hours. And after had his hands up. Um, what was hold up of him not being treated for that long? This goes back to Trayvon Martin on a serious tip. I don’t mean to glorify, but that what I think this draws comparison too. You get an unarmed young black male, doing his business without any harm, and POW!!!!! Shot dead. So that is the norm of being a young black male when facing the result of a barrel of a gun. And partially, some black females.

I told you once and twice: young black males are an endangered species. It was a warning to those growing up in the 90’s and it’s a “Major Storm Warning” now.

Now I know many around the country are showing solidarity to Michael Brown and family. And there are those who probably went to Facebook, Instagram, Google Plus, Twitter, Vine, and many other social media stuff and commented that “what about our own communities?” We got problems in Chicago, in Detroit, L.A. and even in Milwaukee! I see that shiznit popping up. When Trayvon Martin got killed, many in the country never knew who he was. As his name popped up even more, many of us heard the name, but still there are others who need to focus on the communities in our own areas. Here’s what I know. You not going to hear this from any activist, pastor, Well known local, or world known DJ’s, Business Owners, any high ranking official, the still Sheriff David Clarke, President Barack Obama, AG Eric Holder, Mayor Tom Barrett, Governor Scott Walker (really you won’t), any Democrat, any Independent, any black/white Republican, your black radio host, or your local community guy or female. I dare say this and I don’t care if any reader thinks: This incident is not just a national concern, it’s also a local concern. It’s both. We black folks should know this very well. And there are those who say we should get over it? Really?! WHY?!!!

Oh, and there are those who felt that Michael Brown had it coming. Coming from what?! This dude didn’t do nothing major! And all because of a “alleged robbery” of some cigars? So basically he was killed over some cigars and then shot dead after having his hands and arms up that he wanted to surrender. But no, that was not the case and his 18 years of life was stopped.

As long as racism and/or shooting young black males for no reason is talked about, it will not be ignored or forgotten about. I don’t care what year this is. And furthermore, I don’t care what century were living in. We maybe living and breathing in the 21st Century with all this Technology and this “Colorblindness” but were still dealing with the same ol’ 20th century discrimination mess even more. And I know that no peace protest, nor recordings or photography of this, should not be in vain of the first amendment rights. And I’m glad TODAY that President Obama had to comment that. He had too. If those who felt that he was  “remembering Robin Williams” so much and not enough Michael Brown talk, guess what you got your wish. He did comment more on this. And I’m also pleased that the Ferguson native Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson, was out with the crowd, addressing the issues, meeting with the folks that he and many others behind the Highway Badge got the support. Unlike a Sheriff here in Milwaukee that likes to dress up like a cowboy, makes a statement about shooting folks after doing a 911 call. Yeah, I think the ENTIRE Milwaukee County Sheriff Department should take notes. Even the third time winner himself, Sheriff David Clarke.

And I know the critics who will be saying this, and I know a particular on-line radio host will say this in Milwaukee. This might go about two weeks, folks will forget about it and go on to something else. Oh, believe me I know!  But know this, this incident will be in the archives and will be reminded that the struggle continues. No matter what it takes. And yes, expect this or some reminders from your Pastor on Sunday.

Ever since the “Ceasefire Weekend” there has been over 30 shootings thus far in city of Milwaukee. That is horrible. Really horrible in which that many are still asking why. Mostly the young folks who have the “access to guns” are the primary target of this debauchery that continues to plague. And yes, I’ll dive in this because it’s a concern not only for Milwaukee but anywhere. Even if you are in the suburbs. Yes, for all you in the ‘burbs, this concerns you because crime and violence  does harm the scene out there too!

Dear Greater Milwaukee Area, and I mean the “GREATER” Milwaukee Area:

It’s me, Stephen. Yes, I am a black blogger in the Greater Milwaukee Area. Not by pay, but by hobby.

I want to address this issue: Gun Violence. And also for you West Allis folks who just had a horrific scene of mutilations and more.

Have we been though this before?  I ask again. Have we been through this before? I know many here are not going to talk about it, because of various assumptions. But however it is going to get talked about regardless. Now before you go off to Summerfest, the Brewers Games, or to see Jabari Parker’s Jersey at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, you need to know something, when violence happens in our streets, there is no safe haven. NONE!

The recent shootings  in the metro Milwaukee area near 24th and Locust has sparked a concern. Partially, I didn’t grow up in that area, but my home church used to be in that part of the city for over 40 years. Yes, it has changed, but however drastically the violence had intensified. Yes there are those who had guns who don’t know any better about who didn’t deserve the shooting in their homes, or near their homes. I was looking at the news clip from CBS 58’s website, and they were talking or summarizing about what happened in the area. BUT those comments of concern were flowing in. Even the comments who went something like: “Keep killing more folks” coming from a white woman. REALLY?! So white women in Milwaukee or around Milwaukee want to encourage black folks to kill at will like hell on earth in the hood per say and had the nerve to put that on Facebook? Or to see a black person talking smack about our folks doing this and having the urge to move out. Guess what folks, for one: no matter what ethnic side you were born with, when you put out words to encourage young black folks to kill at will per say, you are intensifying the act of concern. You’re being selective with the fact that you want young black folks to be killed. You want black folks under 18-25 to be locked up like animals instead of being in school learning the education game, or being involved in positive groups or organizations. Is this what you want? Seriously? And the part of moving out to other places, let me tell you yes you have a right to move where you want. BUT ALWAYS KNOW THIS: there are problems everywhere. There are shootings EVERYWHERE. There are EVILS EVERYWHERE! That would be like and I hear alot of black folks moving to Atlanta. Why? either for jobs or a better place to live. But I hear that Atlanta is getting way too packed. As much as Atlanta is good, that does not make it perfect to be violence free. Take a look at Chicago. Everyone is calling it “Chi-Raq” with all the shootings they had previously. Is Chicago perfect? I can talk smack about the Bears Still Suck, in a fun way or calling Solider Field, “Lambeau South” but when you hear about the gangs and the shootings in ChiTown, the sports stuff in all don’t matter. Meanwhile in Milwaukee, the Bucks just got a new rookie by the name of Jabari Parker. He’s a good player. Young, gifted and black. And everyone is talking about him. Happy about him. Hoping that he would get his turn to help the Bucks and the community in all to get things going. BUT…….when you get to a hospital after getting shot, or about to get your surgery on, will Jabari Parker be in the surgery room with you, or saving you? NO!

This goes for the folks who go to Brewers games. Let me go in on this! I know the Brewers are doing good. No question about it. There are a portion of you who hear about the violence in the city, and probably might say, “Oh, let’s go to the Brewers game…..”
What are they going to do?! The Packers: I love the Packers. Green and Yellow. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix will do well to his game. BUT……many of us Packer Backers will say around when violence happens, “Oh, let’s go up to a Packer game!” I have to ask, What are they going to do?! Tell me! The Milwaukee Wave, The Green Bay Chill LFL Team, The Milwaukee Admirals in all. I say again, when violence happens and folks talking about “Oh, let’s go a game……” What are they, the sports teams going to do?! I’m just saying. What are they going to do?! Back in the days of Jim Brown and others in the Civil Rights Game, they stood up against violence! You got folks today that want to play ball, go to school, get a job in all, but don’t want to be “REVOLUTIONARY”. Many of us who hear about the violence in our streets and I dare say suburbs, aren’t revolutionary enough now. Does this make sense? And I’m assuming that the North Side of Milwaukee is always on the pulse of concern. Wrong. Any side of the region: North Side, South Side, East Side and the West Side can be a concern!

Now for those in Glendale and West Allis: for many years you probably had to say, “Well I live in the suburbs and I’m glad I moved out of the cesspool”. Explain to me about the shooting in Glendale about the Father shooting his sons. We know it was an argument among the three of them. The father shot his 20 year old, and he died on the scene. His 15 year old son is still in the hospital and the father himself is in custody. Explain that suburbanites! And those say they live in the nice neighborhoods. I use to say this alot and I’m bringing it back: No matter where you go it’s a jungle. Real talk! For West Allis: Yes, I saw the news footage about that former cop having those mutilated bodies in his apartment. And having the crime scene folks going in like CSI and gathering the bags and even the refrigerator or freezer like appliance to load that into a ambulance for investigations. When I saw that yesterday on the news, that took me back to Jeffery Dahmer! How does a guy like him do this?!! Really?!!!! And this dude is a former cop! What is going here? Yes, I have read that he’s more into himself. Very quiet in all. So……..if that’s the case in all, then why this? Many of us stay in our lanes, mind our businesses and journey on. I get it. I do it myself. But when you hear and see this: Where’s the concern? Was this former cop Steve Zelich had issues when he had his badge with the West Allis Police Department? Tell me something!

And the thing that gets me, Steve Zelich and the two women that he murdered, he met them via the Internet. The site: Craigslist. And guess what, Craigslist has been a bad rap lately with false ads and false job opportunities that aren’t true! We know this. And we hear all the time about meeting the folks that we don’t know online. Now I didn’t say Facebook this time. I said Craigslist. My advice from experience, connect who you know. Period.

In closing, this better wake us up like crazy. If this doesn’t, then what will? And I say that to everyone. Even black folks that want to change here in the Greater Milwaukee Area for the better.

Sincerely,

Stephen

Oh I got a four way stop for y’all! And I’m about to go in my way.

First: For all of us Milwaukeeans in the greater area that have a love/hate thing for Scott Walker.

We know the issues and concerns. But the biggest concern and the biggest story that hit was from the New Republic, and it concerned the well being of Scott Walker, and most of us living in Milwaukee with the whole case of segregation, the issues of polarized politics and many other concerns that would make those interested to freak out on Facebook. More on that later. If those in Milwaukee or any in the “WOW” counties of you know who you are, you might want review the New Republic’s article on the Toxic Racial Politics of Scott Walker. Oh, if you’re a Walker fan (which I’m NOT!) you will be moved with the truth that many here in Milwaukee or the Greater Milwaukee Area has been saying for years and even when Scott Walker was just trying to sneak up his way to the top of the Wisconsin food chain.  The author, Alec MacGillis highlighted many issues to the point that the Greater Milwaukee continues to face. The Voting areas, the ongoing talk of Mark Belling and Charlie Sykes and their disdain of blacks, Gwen Moore and other “majority white and less black issues” that the state continues to grasp. If those believe that it’s all smoke and mirrors or just a bunch of hooey, then you’re sadly mistaken. From the article about Walker’s beginnings, yes he was a PK, a preacher’s kid if you will. And yes he had those in his classrooms, hallways, and doorways that he talked smack against those weren’t on his side of the viewpoints. And he had the nerve to say to compare himself to Martin Luther King just because he’s a preacher’s son? Really Walker folks?  If Dr. King were alive, he would school Scott Walker in the radical and revolutionary game. And even Dr. King wouldn’t like the things Walker did or currently doing to the state right now anyway. Also in the article that had some or most of the “conservative Wisconsin regime” reacting like crazy, remember those racist emails that many downloaded from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel? Well from the excerpt it went like this: But what was most striking was the casual racism of many of the conversations. One anonymous e-mail, forwarded by Walker’s then–chief of staff, went like this:

“THE NIGHTMARE … ‘I can handle being a black, disabled, one armed, drug-addicted Jewish homosexual … but please, oh dear God, don’t make me a Democrat.’ ”

Another compares welfare recipients to dogs:

They are “mixed in color, unemployed, lazy, can’t speak English and have no frigging clue who the r [sic] Daddys [sic] are.”This message was forwarded around by Walker’s then–deputy chief of staff, who remarked that it was “hilarious” and “so true.”

Last year, Walker also fired two aides after reporters exposed offensive comments they had made on social media. His campaign’s deputy finance director, for instance, sent out tweets that included references to “half-breeds” and one in which she vowed to “choke that illegal mex cleaning in the library.”

Does that refresh some reviews?

Many here in Southeast believe that the whole area is not segregated politically. Actually it is. Based on this demographic from 2012 as a reference from history. And yes, we’ve seen this in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Look at this from this angle:

A Guide to Scott Walker's Hyperpolarized Home Base

This has been the talk thus far. Now normally you would think that, “oh this is a map, big deal”. But look at it closely. Look at the Metro Milwaukee Area in comparison with the Counties of Waukesha, Ozaukee and Washington. Those are the “WOW” counties in which it’s Republican fueled. Those same counties by the majority have been filling up Scott Walker’s pockets with all the propaganda per say with the cuts to medics, educational aspects and I dare say the High Speed Rail  that would have rolled through Waukesha. Now for you in these counties, this is what you get.

Everyone in Wisconsin should darn well know about this. And the legalities behind the fuel of those of like Charlie Sykes and Mark Belling. For me, I don’t listen to  their spin and bubbles because most of what they say don’t mean a thing to me in my viewpoints. None. They think they know the black community, but they really don’t know squat in the black community. When was the last time Charlie Sykes or Mark Belling ever visited North Division High School in person full of black students? Nope! Never seen it.

Now since the ongoing case of the John Doe situation is currently in progress, it’s not closed or resolved like Walker wants it to be. It’s still open and it still being under view. And this is not going away. If he were to be beaten by Mary Burke in November, I would laugh. Speaking of Mary Burke, she’s been in the black news in Milwaukee lately for her campaign trail. And she’s been to black talk radio more than Walker, plus recently went to Juneteenth Day to make an appearance. Mary Burke is tapping into the black vote. In which that Walker is not.

The Second Stop on the list: Iraq.

We know about this country do we, Americans? The last time we went into this was when George W. Bush was ruining the country into ground on a freaking credit card. I want to say this and I’ll say it here: America has no business in Iraq’s backyard. In terms of the war over there. Now recently the President has sent about 300 Military Advisers over to the U.S. Embassy to provide support. But none of them are not going to be involved in the ongoing war between the Sunnis and Shiites. Or the ISIS factor. Frankly, yes it was a tight spot for the president to be in, but Obama knows that he does not want to be a repeat of what happened with Bush’s controls. Many are now just questioning about whether do I send my son or daughter to Iraq this time. Um, didn’t we asked that question like over 10 years ago when the U.S. should have focused more on Afghanistan/Pakistan in getting Bin Laden than Saddam Hussein? And the risk of losing more than 4,000 plus of our American Troops to do that? If you are a infinite follower of George W. Bush and support that, shameful. That even got the folks like Dick Cheney and Rand Paul talking. Oh we’ve seen the debate right?

After that commentary I thought I would never say this, one of the GOP’s of Rand Paul had the balls to tell Dick Cheney that he, George W. Bush, Condi Rice, and many others in the Bush 43 Administration were wrong about going into Iraq. With all the crap that the GOP is bleeding out to the American and to President Obama, this statement about Rand Paul makes sense of not invading a country that should have remained untapped in begin with.  Don’t get me on the GOP Train of favoritism. Oh no. At least this guy out of Kentucky is admitting the fact, Cheney was wrong. My question is, why can’t the other GOP folks admit the truth about the war in Iraq and ADMIT the fault of it on the part of the United States invading it? That is what I want to know! And again, I’m not a fan nor a supporter of the GOP. And that goes double for not being a fan of the so-called Tea Party. Now I know that many are going to say, “Bush is not in charge anymore. Why are folks and you talking about him after about 5 years he’s been out of office?” Well, it’s the truth! Everyone in the GOP Camp keeps talking about that President Obama should be impeached in all. I have to ask: IMPEACHED FOR WHAT?!! Just because he’s black? The main reason for that is because of ignorance and racism against this man since the day he sat foot in office after beating Sen. John McCain and the escalation of hate after Mitt Romney got whooped in 2012.

Even Senator Harry Reid agrees. In terms of the proverbial, “thanks but no thanks” mentality. The Bush 43 regime was blunderous at best, but it’s up to the Obama Crew to fix the mess.

Third stop: Wisconsin’s Gay Marriage is temporarily “halted.”

Here in the Badger State, folks of the LGBT were lined up outside of courthouses and statehouses to get married legally after the ban was lifted. And plus the ban ended a 8 year streak being unconstitutional. It was getting good for awhile, BUT……….Wisconsin’s AG JB Van Hollen had to whine like a wuss yet again to the federal judge of his appeal in the then-definition of the marriage law between a man and a woman. So there has been a temporary stop in which the idea is paused due to the resolution from 2006. Oh, even Walker is not saying anything, but he’s backing the word and resolution based on it. But SURPRISINGLY: RoJo or Senator Ron Johnson commented in his words, that if the voters wanted the Marriage Equality thing, he would not touch it, but leave it to the voters to decide. Ok, here’s the actual quote from the Journal Sentinel:

I’m a pretty traditional guy,” Johnson said. “I’m almost 60 years old. I think marriage is between a man and a woman. But again if the voters decide that they want gay marriage, I’m not going to oppose it.

I know that many are saying “that’s what he was put in office for! I see why we took out Feingold for him.” Really Wisconsin? Don’t fool yourself. Let me remind those who may have forgotten. Remember the Patriot Act after 9/11 when many in the senate and house voted up for the idea for the government to tap our phones in all to screen the terrorism acts? Many have voted up for it, BUT……………..Russ Feingold didn’t. Because he knew that would be a problem, and you “so-called Wisconsinites” voted him out for RoJo! Yep. He tried to tell you, but nope that Tea Party Mentality was just that: dumb. Now imagine if Russ Feingold were to back Marriage Equality now even more in a sense of passion per say, then this wouldn’t be a factor. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see if the official resolution of this matter does indeed pass for those who want the idea of Marriage Equality to continue. I said before and I’ll say it again. I don’t care. If the folks of the LGBT want to marry equally on their thing without all this harm to world domination, then hey. I’ll bet that the haters of it probably are going to be well in doubt of not getting that extra cash in the state. And speaking of that, if the state houses were to have that continually, there better be more jobs popping up, and also more notaries. And yes, proof of marriage via photography.

And finally on the stop: This is a mystery but I’ll dive in on the “private way of  the All Aboard Wisconsin Rail Idea.

Here is the thing that most of us Wisconsin folks probably don’t know. The talk of rail is still here. And we all know about the situation regarding Talgo, and the debauchery of the folks thought it was a boondoggle and wouldn’t ride it. But what most didn’t realize in the eyes of those voters that was a set up of additional segregation. Now for those who wanting to know where I’m getting this from, pay attention to Milwaukee Black Talk Radio, like WNOV. The commentary that is on there will not be heard on the dial of Mark Belling, Vicki McKenna, or Charlie Sykes. But Sherwin Hughes will talk about it. And many others who call in or have special guests will chime in and the guests who chime in on it know the deep reasoning behind the segregation. No matter if it’s activist, senators, congress representatives, journalists, police officers and veterans all of African decent. That’s just something to think about.

Just recently, on Facebook and many others like Madison’s Newspapers, I’ve been reading about an idea of resurrecting passenger rail. Oh, you didn’t know? From their webpage , there was a proposal talk about having a passenger service from Madison to Chicago and the idea of using rails already in use for that project. However just to be clear this is just talk of ideas. When would it be available? That remains to be seen.  From the excerpts of the article, it states:

Goyke and Mike McCoy, president of All Aboard Wisconsin, said details of the operation — including route, costs and potential ridership — have not been formulated.

Donna Brown-Martin, who oversees railroads and harbors for the state Department of Transportation, said she has not been contacted by anyone involved with plans for passenger rail service from Madison to Chicago.

Any plan to use a state-owned rail line would need to be approved by the state and the railroad that leases the line from the state.

The state of Wisconsin owns a rail line operated by Wisconsin & Southern Railroad that runs through McFarland, Stoughton, Edgerton, Janesville, Walworth and to the southeast to the Illinois border.

Wisconsin is served by two passenger Amtrak routes, neither of which includes a stop in Madison. The Hiawatha train runs between Chicago and Milwaukee, while the Empire Builder is a long-distance train operating one round trip a day between Chicago, Seattle and Portland, Oregon.

Its closest stops to Madison are in Columbus, Portage and Wisconsin Dells.

Goyke’s invitation drew excitement from business and political leaders Wednesday.

Madison Ald. Scott Resnick, 8th District, said he plans to take part in the informational train trip and wants to know more about costs, what type of participation might be needed from the city, the exact route and plans for a Madison train station.

Seems like an idea, eh?

If this idea were to pursue as an alternative in order to get moving, then it seems a good thought. BUT ALSO, that good thought must include Milwaukee, more jobs, and also to connect to where the jobs are. Let me remind those who are various clueless of having cars: NOT EVERYONE IN WISCONSIN DOES NOT HAVE A CAR!!!! Be clear. WNOV talks about this all the time, and to those in Madison need to know this! It’s the truth. I see it and read about it here in the economic engine all the time. There was a point in my life I took buses to work and school in Milwaukee alot. But when it comes places where the buses can’t go, yes I learned to drive. But I’m speaking about those in the areas who couldn’t afford a car had to take buses to get to work. I’m speaking this also from experience. And if those in the background can see that, then it would be a challenge to accept, change, and pursue.

Well Wisconsin: its done. Were on the list of Marriage Equality.  That means that Love Is Love, Marriage is on the even plane and yes, it does involve the group of the LGBT’s, Gays and Lesbians finally getting a ban lifted and getting married in their courthouses, having those pics taken and by the time this blog is done, the hits just kept coming. And of all of this: Milwaukee’s PrideFest Celebration at our own Summerfest Grounds have been boosted.

Ok,  so…….how did we get here? Why was it lifted, and how did it got banned in the first place?

Well, it all began in the year of 2006. By the way, that’s the same year I got out of UW-Stout with my B.S. Degree. Anyway, the Legislature at the time, voted for a measure of the same sex marriage  use would not be active nor granted in the state of Wisconsin. Well, here is another angle from the stories of MSNBC:

In 2006, Wisconsin voters easily approved an anti-gay amendment to the state constitution, banning marriage equality in the state.

And a line from the Wisconsin Referrendum:

The text of the adopted amendment, which became Article XIII, Section 13 of the state constitution, reads:

“ Only a marriage between one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in this state. A legal status identical or substantially similar to that of marriage for unmarried individuals shall not be valid or recognized in this state.[2]

Henceforth, the state wanted to make sure it stays between one man and one woman.  We all know this.

For 8 years, it’s been debated, challenged, protested and many others. When June 6th, 2014, came that streak was broken. Many here in the state either on TV, the internet, Social Media, were all geared to the breaking news either the reaction was positive or negative. All had to see what was the news that was breaking. A federal judge ruled that the Same Sex Marriage Ban was unconstitutional, and it was overturned in a matter of minutes.

Think of this June 6th, 2014 was “Wisconsin Goes on the Marriage Equality List Day”.  On the same day in which our troops way back 70 years ago landed on Normandy Beach.

Now what is my take on this? I’m going to say this and I’m going to be real about it. Frankly, I don’t care. Let the LGBT folks have their platform. Let them have it. No matter what stance you take in terms of this subject. Yes, there are those who feel that it’s against the rules of the Almighty. Many are getting those “what has happened to this state with the ban lifted” speech. Yeah, I know. Of course that will come up! I have a family member that served in the Vietnam War. And he said that the best friends he had in the Military were Gay. He was cool with them. And they was cool with him. Plus he’s my father that served 2 years in the U.S. Army. And he was real about it. I’ll bet many of you of the spotters, had family members that served probably had service members who were Gay or Lesbian, and probably got along under the same flag, same U.S. Armed Forces of Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.

Furthermore, I know this debate is still in progress, now since Wisconsin had been on this so-called “Open for Business” track, well since the ban had been lifted with the courthouses been open all night and all day, now that’s OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

Ok, spotters:

Time for a three way dance! The cards are out in force.

First Take: If we haven’t heard, its official, Arsenio Hall got canceled. And to think, it’s only been 1 season. 1 Season of resurrecting the Dog Pound, getting the Posse 2.0 back on, and also for the new folks to see the man in action. But it was all for one season. Even having guests like Bill Cosby, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube,  Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, the WWE Divas, Paula Abdul, Terrance J, Dick Gregory, Johnny Gill, Andrew Dice Clay, DJ Spinderella, Def Jam, Prince were all great. But again, it was for one season.  I often wondered, did those in the back knew the business that should have kept Arsenio pushing forward? I mean think about it from the way beginning. Donald Trump. The Apprentice. Those who were new to see Arsenio. And many others. Did they actually knew the business to keep black men like Arsenio on air for more additional  years? Even with the ratings that change alot? Really?! I often wondered about the missing support. Where was that? I’ve heard and read that “Arsenio Hall needs to keep up with the now instead of reliving the 90’s. Or his jokes were corny as heck”, or maybe there were miscues coming from many who just weren’t ready for Arsenio to made a long trek back. And when Jay Leno had his surprise appearance on the show, he read out loud that the show was going to go towards a second season. That sounded like good news. But again: only one season. After this announcement, of mainly being available for one season, what was promised? Besides of the hype. And yes, Arsenio was up against competition from other Late Night hosts. But I think the tide kind of changed when Jimmy Fallon got hold of the Tonight Show with The Roots and Spike Lee doing the intros. And also many others. Frankly, I’m not blaming Jimmy Fallon on this one per say. After the shocking announcement, the comments roared in like “Oh, I saw this coming a long time ago after his first show.” How do we know that? We don’t know how it came to be until we see the full results. Plus also, many now are living in the “Reality TV” era. And many have said that  The Arsenio Hall Show was better than some of these shows out now.

Many overall had taken to twitter and Facebook to give their perspective on this cancellation. Even thinking about getting the Arsenio Hall Show back on black owned networks like Aspire, TVOne, BET or Bounce. Even OWN. One of the actresses formally of the show, Community, Yvette Nicole Brown had to go to the tweets about Arsenio’s departure:

Losing ‘s voice in late night hurts. Just taking a moment to thank him for all he did for those of us who wanted a shot too. xo

And let me say one more thing. The hosts of late night shows don’t always know what their bookers are saying about prospective guests…

So don’t blame Dave, Jay, Seth, Conan, Craigy and the Jimmy’s when you don’t see certain folks on their couches…

Just to think: I wouldn’t found out about new figures like Tiffany Haddish, Prentice Powell, Malina Moye, Zainab Johnson,  and many others who I never seen, all given a shot on his show. Remember when all those “instagramers” who criticized the DJ’s that Arsenio had on? Guess what they needed a push also. Even DJ’s like DJ Shortee, Selectress Iriela, DJ Eque, and those who just scratch and not DJ enough per say. Also when Prince was on his show, I never heard of Liv Warfield. But knowing now, she’s making a name for herself. And what was Arsenio doing with them was no other what the other hosts were doing at the time by giving new stars a chance at stardom.

Now on Facebook, there is a page called “Save The Arsenio Hall Show” in which it has fans to and those alike to gain a goal to get his show to another network for more room. Like when The Game (not the rapper) went from the CW and now BET. Plus there’s always Kickstarter. But knowingly despite of this, yes it’s all about the ratings game in which if your ratings go up, you move on. But if your ratings slide and decline, with no STRONG SUPPORT, it’s a failure for cancellation.

Second Take: It’s been about 2 plus weeks since Milwaukee had this “Ceasefire Weekend”. But that didn’t matter to some folks in starting a dumb shooting. One of the shootings that happened to a 10 year old girl named, Sierra Guyton. Sierra was shot in the head on a playground near 28th and Clarke in the city but the thing is about it, she was caught in a crossfire between two men who were just dumb with guns. And both the men, have been charged and are awaiting sentencing. Now let me review, the city had this Ceasefire Weekend thing, we’ve been telling folks to PUT THE GUNS DOWN like crazy and the thing is, they are still up. What gives? Is this a factor? I know when the summer gets here, yes the weather will be hot, and the so-called grown folks will have their decree about nothing to do for the kids in all. Plus also I really need to say this but where is the accountability of these gun owners who don’t have enough sense to use their tools per say of not harming innocent people. Where do we go from here on this? I can hear this mess now, “Oh, It’s right for protection!” Where was the protection for Sierra Guyton when she got shot in the head in that ridiculous crossfire?! Where was her protection and the rights of her well being from all of this? Now I know that the “big wigs” of our government officials might be on the hook for this, but the reality is those who did this have to pay the price, in jails, jumpsuits and avoid being shanked by a guy name Bubba. Who wants that? I don’t!  Now I know that the marches, protests have started. Even petioions to get the guns off the street. Now with this era of craziness, this is a whole new monster and it’s a beast of burden. Call it mental, call it crazy call it what you want. But the fact remains it’s really a dumb factor of trying to end another young life.

Third Take: Oh, I have seen this! Matter of fact, we’ve all seen this ratchet picture!

This has got to be the ABSOLUTE WORST PICTURE! You talk about posting bad pictures on Facebook in all, this is no execption. It has gotten a visual review from everyone. But I don’t understand why this pic with a baby on a wedding dress train? Excuse me! Oh check this out, the bride of the picture, Shona Carter-Brooks  had got her defense on with a statement like this. She says from her Facebook page, and she said this in her manner of choice:

Ripley TN we den went exclusive, we made the radio The Official KBLX Fan Page today! People questioning what we do, commenting all negative, and just doing the most. We good though we covered by the Blood which never loose its power. So to the media, radio, news, and whomever else wanting to talk about what WE do here you go: Media Media I see how it works regardless the situation or purpose people gone have something negative to say! The answer is we do what we want when we want long as Jesus on our side everything worked out fine and gone continue to be fine. Our 1 month old was awake and well secured on my train. Most important while yall got ya feelings in us we had our hearts in Christ which covers all!! So keep ya mouths running for it was just that Exclusive and Epic enough we made top blog way from small town Ripley, TN and the social media doing what they do, TALK!!!! Who paid yall for yall comments, none so watch us as we do us! Too bless for mess!! Thank God we aint no celebrities oops got fans, guess we is! Sign off Mr & Mrs Brooks!!

First of all let me tell those who are in the “hood ratchet mode thing” – when walking the aisle, you spell the word THEN not Den. Second of all, if any bride of any race per say, decides to get married and thinking about having a child at the tail end of the wedding dress, please don’t! If this black woman was covered by the blood of Jesus per say in all, the blood should have made that person think that this is wrong. And if those that are agreeing with her you are sadly mistaken. I’m sorry. This is why black folks need to get it together. When a picture like this gets around, of course everyone will be talking and commenting. Like I’m doing. This is a bad picture that deserves to be burned! No infant, baby should not be treated like that. I know many of  you who had been down the aisle, and have got married with the kids watching, this probably made you upset and you should be.  Just a word of advice!

And plus, why didn’t anyone in the family or church didn’t help out to make sure the child was safe? Or put on another decoration behind the dress train? I hate to say this but this is so stupid! Some folks just need to really think before putting the ratchet stuff out on notice.
