Well here we are. For the 244th time, it’s America’s birthday. And still many of us have a pandemic on our minds to keep safe. And being aware of the on going struggle of rights and privileges that everyone American should be created equal. We know everytime we see those words should be a constant reminder of every person reading this blog and of course those that use everything else.

However between last year and this year, this Indepenence Day has been a drastic change: COVID-19. Usually I say this that the folks who were here last year celebrating or observing or protesting this holiday are not around this year because many of the thousands have died after suffering this symptom of the Coronavirus. Many of our traditional gatherings at parks, festivals, activities had been either reduced to the social distancing or cancelled for the rest of the year due to the virus. The many folks who previously protsted state capitals in the Don’t Tread On Me Flags, or the Rebel Battle Flags or with Rifles strapped with guns all had this distain that the state houses were promoting “Tyranny” in terms of those wanting to go back to work. That’s not tyranny, that’s being stupid and ignorant. And what’s funny that I mentioned this in the last blog about the words “Tyranny Response Team” on the backs of shirts. Really?

Those men and some women are not a Tyranny Response Team. They are frauds! I know I shouldn’t be saying this on the 4th, but I had to say that it’s apparent that they are misguided about the use of freedom. Oh yes, with out our military and all the guise of implications of our Indedpendcce, we wouldn’t have a 4th of July to celebrate. Nor I dare say a Juneteenth Day. And yes those are #facts!

Let me further say three words on this 244th occasion: Black Lives Matter! That’s right: BLACK LIVES MATTER.

The very same words that our so-called president labeled the organization as a symbol of hate. Other individuals that deflected those words to something like “All Lives Matter”. Let me dive in on this again. I know many had the chance to listen to activists in a response to the message that Frederick Douglass stated years ago called “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” Oh yes, that is the speech that many are afraid to read and hear, but to us in the black community, Douglass revealed in his speech of the concerns that the black slaves never had to say but to feel what they were thinking. Even though they couldn’t stand up for themselves. But what Douglass really told was the hardcore truth that the celebration was fine for most folks, but to the black slave: Not as much. He stated at the time was “this is your celebration, not mine”. He also stated that while you celebrate your liberty in all, he must mourn. Keep in mind this was in 1852 on July 5th. Now 168 years later his Great-Great-Great-Great Grandchildren are reciting that same portion of the speech as he did. And it’s poetic because they need to know what their 4th Grandfather had to feel. BUT…….they also must read the WHOLE SPEECH! Not just that portion. My advice to them would be (and they’ll have to understand) read the whole speech before making a comment on Social Media in a weird way then you know. Of course, if Frederick Douglass were alive today saying that speech, either he would be attacked on Facebook, harassed, or shot dead. All because he was revealing a thought that many had been thinking for so long. But he also wanted the Country to improve in a sense of getting to that promised land of opportunity.

Henceforth: Black Lives Matter!

This is also the occasion that individuals like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others in the country who are black had been killed by the hands of the police, and racism are not here. Which still lingers to this day. The activists of today who scream out Black Lives Matter are the new colonists. They are the new Paul Reveres that ring out warnings. They are the Elizabeth Cady Stantons, and many others of the yesteryear that are ringing out the concerns that many need to be aware of. Or in this case, STAYING WOKE! I know that many of us were on our live feeds today or leading up to the 4th, in regards to wearing black. In terms of Black Lives Matter and many others that wouldn’t wear the traditional colors of Red White and Blue.

So what.

Many know that the folks of Morticians or Goth wear black every day and nobody says nothing. How many folks wear black shoes EVERYDAY? I’m just saying! This is all coming from those who were logging into Facebook in Blackout groups that many tried to get others to join to participate. The whole idea was to be informed about the concerns dealing with black lives, and there is some advertising for black-owned businesses. Me personally, I support black businesses all the time. The ones I know very well from Black Barbershops, Black Daycares, Organizations here in Milwaukee like the Northcott Neighborhood House which was founded by the denomination that I was confirmed 30 years ago in 1990, the United Methodist Church, and my church is black supported! So I know this very well. My thing is like every July 7th, we know that Black Out Day is a time to support black businesses, but it is also a reminder that the support of the black dollar goes on all the time!

Also on the fourth, well there were some that have something to add in the concerns: There was an event and a protest held in Pewaukee and Milwaukee in regarding that Black Americans were excluded from celebrating the 4th of July Celebrations. The idea of the event and acts were to address the concerns of Police Brutality and Racism.

From the transcript via WISN Channel 12: AROUND CUTLER PARK AND THE WAUKESHA PUBLIC LIBRARY. NOT EVERYONE IS CELEBRATING THE FOURTH OF JULY THIS YEAR NATIONALLY, THERE’S BEEN A CALL TO BOYCOTT THE HOLIDAY. PROTESTERS SAY THAT BECAUSE THE BLACK COMMUNITY HAS BEEN EXCLUDED FROM THE FREEDOMS THE HOLIDAY STANDS FOR. NO AMERICANS SHOULD BE CELEBRATING. IN PEWAUKEE, PROTESTERS GATHERED TO CALL FOR AN END TO RACIAL INJUSTICE. THEY MARCHED FROM THE PUBLIC LIBRARY TO PEWAUKEE BEACH, A ALONG CHANTING THE MESSAGE, NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE. ORGANIZERS SAY THE GOAL WAS TO KEEP RACISM AND POLICE BRUTALITY ON THE TOP OF EVERYONE’S MIND. >> A LOT OF TIMES PEOPLE THINK AFRICAN-AMERICANS ARE ANGRY. THEY ARE NOT ANGRY. THERE HAS BEEN POLICE BRUTALITY, BUT LIVES TAKEN DUE TO VIOLENCE, SO WERE TAKING A MOMENT TO STOP AND BREATHE.

BEN: IN MILWAUKEE, ANOTHER GROUP OF PROTESTERS GATHERED FOR A MOMENT OF MOURNING. THE PROGRAM AT THE UNITY GOSPEL HOUSE OF PRAYER INCLUDED POETRY, LIVE MUSIC, AND DANCING. ATTENDEES WERE ENCOURAGED TO REMEMBER THE LIVES LOST RECENTLY DUE TO CORONAVIRUS, VIOLENCE, AND RACIAL INJUSTICE.

Also, over the weekend, former NFL Player Colin Kaepernick made his remarks over the holiday by stating “we reject your white supremacy.” He writes on Twitter:

“Black ppl have been dehumanized, brutalized, criminalized + terrorized by America for centuries, & are expected to join your commemoration of ‘independence’, while you enslaved our ancestors. We reject your celebration of white supremacy & look forward to liberation for all.”

No matter if it was on MSN or Yahoo the story was picked up. And just as I was logging off, here come those who are overly patriotic saying in the comments: “Get over it” or “Go back to a history class”, “quit whining”. Part of what he was saying was in fact true. There has been concerns that America terrorized nations without any consent, bombed innocent people, declared in the Declaration that Indians were savages, and oh, escalated the use of Slavery before, during and the after the founding of the nation. And yes, some of our Founding Fathers that signed the legendary document were slave owners. Even the father of this land by the name of George Washington was a SLAVE OWNER! Instead of hiding from this so-called Fake News, just admit the truth. Yes, of course we can celebrate the 4th, and yes there were black men that fought in the Revolution, but still some of them went back into Slavery! And some also maintained their freedom. Let be real about it.

Also: when many were talking about that had not been researching the story of a white supremacist. I’ll bet that many of those who helped shaped the country, no matter what roles have occurred before and after 1776 probably were connected to White Supremacy! You have the state of Mississippi for the first time in over in one century brought down their state flag with the rebel sign on it. I’ll bet many who were Mississippi born felt jubilant in a peaceful manner that the flag that gave them so many nightmares is finally done! Those monuments of those who were “Civil War Heroes” that lost the war, were taken down. Some were actually destroyed.

In speaking of that when NASCAR finally halted the thought of the Confederate Flags at the events and races that was a jubilant moment. Yes, you can thank Bubba Wallace for that in order to see change happen in the sport.

Now let me conclude this with this. The Fourth is a mixed bag for many folks. Let’s just call it what it is. However in the result of this mixed bag of controversy, yes it’s a day to acknowledge the turning point of the country’s Independence. The document proved to be a starting point to change, to inspire and to confront the issues, concerns and accomplishments that the country endured since it’s founding of 1776. Yes, over the course of human events in the last 244 years, America hasn’t “been that great”. And yet America hasn’t been perfect. But in the years preceded this one in a time frame of a pandemic that already silenced most of the Fireworks displays, parades, and other old-school related events the real Americans must stand up. It must stand up to get the ideas of being self-evident that yes all men are created equal. And should be created equal no matter who or what. Those are not just words, they should be a way of life. All day every day! If that’s the case however then explain why there is so much racism in regarding African-American citizens. From jobs to finance to housing. Even Healthcare! If many are saying “Oh Stephen, you should be lucky to be an American Citizen and have the freedoms to do so. Why are you complaining?” Look, I want THIS COUNTRY TO CONFESS the truth, the ideals founded and have that equality thing that many have been preaching about since Day One! And I also have been discriminated, disrespected, overlooked, unappreciated, devalued and nearly forgotten about. Yes, me! No I’m not going into “I Have A Dream” and recite the same sentences that Dr. King said in 1963. Many of us need to read the whole speech regardless! The same with Frederick Douglass’ speech about again, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July.” The one portion of that speech many recited over and over again. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE BEGINNING? And black folks you should know better! I’m just saying.

And the part regarding the “Mericless Indian Savages” in the Declaration, and if those who were wearing those shirts on the 4th in regarding the three words, you may have missed out on the words regarding the complaint regarding KING GEORGE III! Beginning with the word “He!” Now many of you saw on Instagram of the picture of Cree Summer (whom had a acting career on A Different World and the voice of Penny from Inspector Gadget) that displayed the shirt just like this:

Merciless Indian Savages Declaration Of Independence T-shirts

You know what was missing? See below:

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

Question to those who wore this shirt, why wasn’t the whole quote mentioned? There was also a missing thought that it wasn’t addressed to ALL INDIANS! Look at the sentence again: What does it start with again? HE – as in the King of England at the time. The founders I think were describing the dilemmas that were problematic. So when folks said all the Indians, that is taking the quote way out bounds. Hear me out. That’s almost like saying all men are dogs. Or all black men are no good. See the angles here? Or in this case all BLM Members are racists and being funded by George Soros. Or when he was touring the country in the poorest neighborhoods, there were individuals or groups that commented that Bill Cosby had “Harsh words for African-Americans”. Get that mess out of here! And according to the stories, there were Indians that fought with the continental army and for the British crown. You know which folks did that also? Black folks! We got to be real! This is not to drown out the Native Americans here. In which I don’t do at all.

People: it’s time to review everyday of this Declaration. In terms of further understanding the thoughts of why the articles and listings were made and not only just to be one sided. You should be asking why they were one sided at first. I should start by saying #AtFirsttheFourthOfJuly wasn’t a holiday for black folks. That is a fact. And yes, you have many saying the same thing, probably on your timelines on Facebook of asking why. But at the same time, we must not forget that the longevity of the struggle still continues! And also there were black men that fought on the side of the continental during the revolution. If you think that Crispus Attucks was the only one that fought and died in that timeframe, guess what? He was not the only one! There were countless others that served like James Armistead, who was a spy on for the Continental Army under George Washington that helped the Americans. Another was Peter Salem, as well as Salem Poor at the Battle at Bunker Hill. Even the 1st Rhode Island Regiment also fought. Why aren’t these names being mentioned like Attucks? In addition to the struggle, that also is an everyday reminder that must hold dear to these three words: Our Sacred Honor.

So yes, as the nation turns the page, or levels up at 244, and it’s ok to celebrate for a moment. But when the next day happens, its back to work.

It’s back to fight White Supremacy.

It’s back to help Homeless Veterans

It’s back to educating our children.

It’s back to realize that Virtual Learning does count like the Traditional Classrooms.

It’s back to supporting Black Lives Matter, in a sense to find Breonna Taylor’s killers.

It’s back to fight unemployment, health issues of COVID-19.

It’s back to defuse the wickedness of Backing the Badge and Blue Lives Matter.

It’s back to stop the abuse of Police Brutality, stand against racism as well as discrimination based of age, religion, gender, education, and experience on the job.

It’s back to fight for the Church in a sense of fighting depression, hunger, finance problems racially, and it’s back fighting the same “Colonial Causes” that were and are in a long working progress. Which includes VOTING!

This year marks 150 years that African-American Men received the right to vote under Amendment 15. Also it’s been 155 years since the Amendment 15 which declared slaves free, hence brought Amendment 13 in April of 1864, thus making it plain in January of 1865 leading to June 19th.

And the beat, in fact goes on.

Before the annual tribute to fathers in all begins, this blog is for all the fathers young and old. Happy Father’s Day to the men who are Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, Great Uncles, Great Grandfathers, StepFathers, God-Fathers, and many other fathers on the planet that deals daily with being a FATHER ALL DAY EVERY DAY! Oh yes, of course, this is the part where many go hard and stupid on the men who don’t step up and raise their kids as much as the women. Look here: there are real daddies out there that DO and I mean DO HANDLE THEIR BUSINESS! There is no question in that. Also for many like me, another father’s day will be hard because my father is deceased for three years. And yet the memories will never die in vain. So even though I’m new to this being without my Dad, the hard thought of him never dies out. And also for those who sympathize and your Dad is still living and you somewhat understand that you really don’t know the feeling until YOU go through the experience.

CALLOUT: And also for all the women who tell the single men without kids Happy Father’s Day, STOP!!! You know darn well not every man is a FATHER! If you say it, we’ll tell you: “I’m not a father.” Don’t tell us Happy Father’s Day because we don’t earn it until it becomes a hard job for us to try and accept. Especially those of us whom are single, unmarried, no kids of our own and just living the single life that many feel are bad and miserable.  Be careful, ladies. Don’t snag us like that. Of course, you can wait until November 19th for International Men’s Day. Or some honorable thing of celebrating Men in the church or community that don’t have kids.

For all the workers of the world, do you realize that it’s time to go back to the office?

Men, since this is a month for our health, you have been thanking the nurses and doctors during the pandemic, do you think it’s time to go back to one? Men’s Health Month is still an objective.

For all the haters that don’t like Virtual Graduations: the students did graduate. What are you hating on?

Hear me out when I say Distance Education rules! Now what?

Was it just me, or Summer 2020 just came in real quick?

If many are not willing to wait, do the questions of still be being “socially distant” mean anything to any?

June is also Pride Month. How you’re doing LGBT folks?

June is also Black Music Month. Be honest. Who still benefits from Black Music since forever? Even if you hate it!

Word is that the 2020 BET Awards might go simulcasting. Even to the non cable networks. And Viacom will do this, how?

For those whom are black and woke: this might be a hard question to ask but in regarding the 4th and many of us hate it because of it’s ties to slavery. Yes it’s true for those whom are so Red, White and Blue that the period whom

After all the protests and the demands of defunding the police so far, are the communities ready to listen to black Americans?

Aunt Jemima, Cream of Wheat, and maybe Mrs. Buttlesworth’s are on the verge of retirement due to the ongoing views of the products being tied to segregation or this case, White Supremacy. Any questions?

Dealing with coronavirus and all the folks don’t care about the corona, what did your doctor really say, again?

Oh, for all you NASCAR fans: why are you mad about the confederate flag? Oh wait a minute, that’s right it’s racist! Nevermind.

Another question: If you have graduated so far to enjoy the smelling of the roses of your achievement, congratulations. Now you realize that you have to give back to your Alma Mater, right? And if your Alma Mater screws up with Alumni events planned: HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE! #AlumniStatus

Speaking of Black Music (after all, June is Black Music Month again) which Music in Black History that many know so well that it will not die through the depths of time?

CALLOUT: How can Black Men and Black Women be woke and hate on each other for petty stuff? Yes, this does happen!

Ok, this I need to know: Which artist is really looking forward to performing for the 2020 BET Awards?

For baseball: there is an opening pitcher and a closing pitcher. Regarding Juneteenth Day 2020, closing pitch. The 4th: opening pitch. Why do you ask?

For all of my Pride Readers: that’s the LGBT folks. Is your Pride Month good this year so far?

This might be asked: will many or some of the areas of Milwaukee have Fireworks? For the 4th of July?

Oh yes, how will us Milwaukeeans will be getting around without Summerfest this year?

Which or many of us Men have on the Light Blue for Men’s Health Month?

The NBA and rumored that MLB might start up again. Will the outlook of competition be less or more? And a reminder: there is a pandemic going on.

The Last Ride was a hit. I’m glad that the Undertaker (aka Mark Calaway) told his story. I like many can understand that he wanted to protect the Deadman character over the years behind the curtain. And I had no idea that he had to go through those surgeries and refreshed wrestling skills to maintain the game. Of course, The Undertaker is already a household name for 30 years, but many a few remember him back as Mean Mark Callous in WCW. He was an original “Paul Heyman Guy”. And similar to many wrestlers that were good, not so marketable; it was a foul ball of bad business. However like many also, it wasn’t all the case against Undertaker. It was the promoters. Let’s be honest, the promoters were indeed wrong but had to appreciate. Overall, the Last Ride was lived up to the hype. Thoughts?

And now: A moment for the Fathers.

For all the Dads that are just now coming out, what will be your reaction for your OFFICIAL first Father’s Day?

For all the Dads that are still around kicking knowledge, what is your best advice for the new Dads coming up?

In Memoriam: For those of us who miss our Dads. This is hard as we know. How do we go through the storm yet again that our Dad’s memories will not die? No matter when and where? May all of our deceased fathers rest in power for eternity and in peace. Mine also.

What is up with this attitude that when Father’s Day comes around, females get an attitude? Oh especially around this time of year?

Has #GirlsDad been always a norm?

When church comes on Sunday, what will be the estimated percentage of Men coming for Father’s Day? It ain’t big for many!

How many Men have actually wore Light Blue for Men’s Health Month on Father’s Day like the MLB?

After this Father’s Day is over, Men you do realize that International Men’s Day is about 5 Months away after June 19th? For those of us whom are not fathers with no kids, let’s celebrate that! No matter what we do or say. I say as an idea, promote International Men’s Day ON Father’s Day too!

Should all Churches and Community Groups have an All Men’s Day? At least for men whom are not fathers in all?  Unsung, perhaps?

Ok, this needs to be asked: what kind of a man is an “Unofficial” Father? or an “Unofficial Dad?” You heard of Honorary Degrees that might be fake. Just saying.

Another need to be asked: no disrespect to Father’s Day or Mother’s Day, but why we have slept on Children’s Day? Which is every second Sunday in June?! Look it up. And don’t say everyday is a Children’s Day.

And………the final question of Father’s Day 2020: what will the Father’s take from this year into the first Decade of the 2020’s? That’s is even worth celebrating for the next generation to ponder in all.

For all the Dads that read my blog, ENJOY YOUR Father’s Day. Be blessed at it. Don’t let none of the disruptive folks hate the thought you got this day. If your Dad is still around kicking knowledge, hold him close! You never know when the day or the hour when it might be his last.

Before I get to matter at hand. Yes, I like many of you have been on this train of being late like hell. Of course I’m talking about the reasons why but the sole reason why is the dealing with this symptom of conversations regarding the sickness of the Coronavirus or COVID – 19. Again we know. But somehow many of us and including myself are asking and still asking about what this is. What and why is this happening in 2020 in which we should be so excited and energized about the use of the year being the year should be in this 2020’s preliminary start of the decade. But after I’m seeing so far as much as you it’s getting crazy out here!

You see all the good spots, the hangouts, restaurants, bars, schools, churches, sporting events and venues and MANY MANY MANY OTHERS had to be shut down for a while. All quiet so far. Also many of you probably had to make hard decisions to cancel your outings, reunions, alter new dates for graduations, and many many other concerns that not only for the folks coming and going, but for those organizing and planning and MC’ing. We get it.

We also have heard that black folks don’t get immune to the Coronavirus due to slavery and all this so-called mess that was opinonated online with Social Media and Youtube. BULL….I know. It’s B.S. I want to say something regarding this. For all the black folks, especially African Americans who have been following this so call trek online: STOP! I’ve heard all this mess about the Coronavirius could have been connected with the 5G Cell Phone frequencies. OH REALLY?! What a joke. Show me the receipts! I dare you. Don’t be telling me like, you need to look at this video or clip on YouTube and expect me to believe your story. Oh please! Another thing, according to the real black news sources, there were a few deaths that were black that were rare and surprising. Mostly from those whom were up in age past 60. Oh and I’m assuming that we heard that Idris Elba, that good looking British Actor that many black women wished they marry, posted on his social media page that he tested positive for the coronavirus that he interacted with someone that had already been diagnosed. And again, for all of the black folks that deny story like this: WAKE UP! Stop all the foolishness and so called WOKE CONSCIOUSNESS crap that you’ve been following. No matter if they’re Atheist. Yeah I said it! Or those who claimed to be very conscious with no substance. Or those who just act so stupid either in your families, friends, neighbors and many others. Just to say in further, everyone is on watch! EVERYONE! Even me. I’m on watch.

So what probably had started the Coronavirus? What really led to the actions or ideas behind the REAL THEORY of the virus? Just recently, this was shown on Roland Martin Unfiltered. Press play.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sA3E7oUglS4

Vox Media had produced the clips that might not be seen in the News Media. You probably didn’t look at this on MSNBC, CBS, Fox News, ABC News, or any other news outlet that is on 24/7. You also didn’t see it on your local news stations. But this is online. If you probably bought or visited stuff from China previously this might be a jump. A jump that many of us either missed, overlooked or actually knew but not very summarized. Here is a question that many of us probably haven’t done: who remembers taking any Occupational Safety Classes in College? No matter what year? Guess what, I did. And like many, I went back into the notes and reviewed what I learned as a Industrial Management Distance Education student with UW-Stout. Why Distance Education, I’ll get into that later.

So what we need right now, is answers. We talk about getting all these answers and getting them right now. So my question is, why many of us have NOT BEEN mentioned any sooner?! You know who I’m putting this on: 45. Yep that’s right. I blame him. I blame his administration. I blame his blame on Obama. I blame his connections. I blame his fans. Yes, if you are a fan of 45’s with all the stupid MAGA Hats waving the American flag either online, inperson or at the racist rallies, hell yeah I’m saying this. It’s on you! Now with that, he’s now wanting to have the rules that he put in place for all of us Americans:

Image result for white house coronavirus guidelines jpg
Source: MSNBC, 2020.

Oh did I mention that he will give all of the Americans at least $1,200.00 to cover for the expenses of each family? Really?! You know what this reminds me of: 2002. When George W. Bush gave every American a $300.00 to each individual or group after 9/11? And everyone spent up that money like it was fast Christmas Bonus went real quick! Of many forgot, but this was nearly 19 years ago. And many of you Millennials were just either born or just young. Let me be real clear, dude is just pulling this off . Period.

Now me shift gears here: Social Distancing. Oh for those of us whom are Introverts, this was like a bonus for us. So what is “Social Distancing?” exactly? In a way of a health sense?

According to Forbes.com: “Social distancing is a public health strategy attempting to prevent or slow the spread of an infectious pathogen like a virus. It includes any method to keep people physically separate from each other because physical proximity is how many pathogens go from one body to another. This includes isolating people who are infected, quarantining people who may have been infected, and keeping people separate from each other in general.”

So it’s like 3 feet in basketball in a sense to give players room to move around to get the ball. Or in this case, it’s like keeping your distance from one another in a way to not get sick. It’s the 6 feet rule. You stay on one side and I’ll stay on the other as long it’s 6 feet in between. That’s what it is. Alot the sports teams and groups from the NBA and even the WWE are already doing the social distancing rule regarding the fans.

For us who do church every Sunday, we know that our services had to be cancelled in person due to the Coronavirus. However, many of us are using Technology from home to help communicate with each other. And we are using Audio Conference on our phones to reach out for our church services. Haters be da*ned! Even though that meeting in a church building is not vital, but you can worship God anywhere. Even in your OWN HOUSE! The United Methodist Church as an example had adopted a new revived slogan called: Rethink Church. Well, many of our Worship Cribs were rethinking the ideals of church so that what was missing can be summarized with those later on. Long time ago, this was considered a sin like Texing. Really? NOW with all this going on with the Coronavirus, and among other things, you CAN HAVE this style of communication to communicate and in order to keep up with the worshiping work of the Gospel. Yes you can! So for those whom are old school, look I get it. You’re the as I like to call, “the Unteched”. Sort of like the Unsaved! Yeah, I have went there. Don’t judge me! You need the Teched to be connectable due to the ongoing bridging the Gaps that we see and hear so much. You realize that many homes right now that have kids in it don’t have Internet? Especially among homes in the African-American Community? Think about that! The Schools and Libraries have them and they are closed up for a while. The Community Centers have them and guess what? CLOSED! So for all you that don’t have internet either do one or two things:

  1. According to the sources, Spectrum and AT&T have deals for a 60 day usage of Internet. Call one of those companies to set up an appointment to have one installed for you. Spectrum: 1-844-488-8395. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/spectrum-to-offer-free-internet-access-for-60-days-for-students/ar-BB11bVen

2. AT&T is doing the same as well as Comcast. Give them a call, NOW!

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/mar/15/comcast-att-offer-free-wi-fi-60-days/

Also, if any church member is closely TECHED all the way, so many companies like Zoom, WebEx, Google, Facebook Messenger and others are doing Video Conferencing for meetings and also services. So if I’m one the many that uses any type of technology of video conferencing, I want it to be implemented in our churches just like the telephone. You got to have it now! No excuses. No excuses to those whom are dinosaurs, old school, none of that. Then if you can’t, get with those in your households that can. You can blame the companies all you want. But guess who else you can blame but not really talked about? The Schools. The Universities. Why? Because that’s where the training begins. IN THE INSTITUTIONS that you send your kids and grand kids! Don’t back out now! And church folks, I know we’re all about our faith and coming out with a congregational idea. But for those of us whom are big headed, CHECK YOURSELF! Yeah I’m saying this as a church goer. Keep your holy butts IN YOUR HOUSE until it’s time to comeback! Why is that so hard?

Oh, let me go back to the days when I was attacked. When I was criticized or disliked or devalued as a Distance Education University of Wisconsin-Stout student. For all you whom are Distance Ed students right now, you’re lucky to do your studies as of this moment. But when I was going through the trenches of Distance Ed to complete my classes, it was a beginning of something new. Something different. As a matter of fact, I was introduced to Teleconferencing 25 years ago as a High School Senior. This was 1995 when many were just starting to use the internet. What I went though in 1995 was a sample of things to come. Having a meeting in a space talking to another company or school abroad without leaving your spot. And hopefully carryout the mission that was provided at the time. When I was 18 years old, we were talking about music, science, technology, and also many others to collaborate. Again, this was 1995. And it was the first time that my Alma Mater, John Marshall High School in Milwaukee and the Hugh Christie Tech School in England was engaging in this Teleconference meeting. And it was first that a US High School and a British Tech School were able to do this. And here we are, 25 years later in 2020 at a time of this Coronavirus Pandemic is rapidly getting nuts. Teleconferencing is working not just for personal. It’s also working for business, health/wellness, education, finance, worship, government, media, and many many many other factors as of today. But getting to me getting attacked by Betty Speed, the Milwaukee Urban League, Manpower, Spherion and many other companies that did me wrong back between 2002 – 2006, you know what I need to say that these folks and companies better start eating some serious poisonous crow!

MASSIVE CALLOUT: I remember all the attacking on me so badly in a way that what I was trying to explain was the TRUTH! I am not the one to blame for misunderstanding. THEY ARE! You Baby-Boomers and haters in the industry who work in these companies need to apologize for all the mess you’ve said over and over again that this style of education don’t work. HELLO! IT DOES WORK! I’ve been through it! Say sorry! After all, you made this thing!

All in all: this too shall pass. I’ve mention this on Facebook (my personal account) and also Linkedin regarding upgrading our skills while we are finding our way through the wilderness of this Coronavirus Pandemic. This what I said:

Think about that for a second. This would be a great time right now, to update your resumes, your portfolios and if you had a past skill that is not considered so updated at the moment, BRING IT BACK! Bring it back to be modified for your current status of job seeking, volunteerism, business development, interests, hobbies, and many other ideas. Who knows, all the job skills you are acquiring right now is an extra credit for your resume. Document it! Log it in! I work as a Secretary for my church and I am just getting back in using Audio Conferencing. I knew I had to the experience of logging into an Audio Conferencing network, way before Zoom, WebEx, and Social Media. This was done on the phone and I was a UW-Stout Senior as a Distance Ed student in Milwaukee. However, this was a first time that I had to set up or apply for a Phone Number like Free Conference Calls. So far the idea has been “night and day” but the effort in trying was well received so far. So yes, my church had to thank me because I knew the background! And I have put that on my resume for all you Job Related folks that look on CareerBuilder, LinkedIn, and other uses of Employment Watching.

Finally and I know this is so long, many might think that this Coronavirus might be out of the way before Summer so we can all get back to our normal routines. Look, I hate to be critic and I’m no doctor, but I don’t for-see that happening because no one really knows when this virus will actually be held in check and under control. This virus is relatively new for many of us. Many of our elders and previous folks conquered Polio, and Spanish Flu. Some of us remember Chicken Pox, Measels, Mumps & Rubella. And all those other outbreaks that many of us don’t want to read about; But you will. And to those who think that this Coronavirus is “just the flu”, I call B.S. on that. Really I do because this is ain’t no flu that will be done in 5 days. Already that our local folks like David Bowen, Tom Barrett, Gwen Moore, Tearman Spencer, Rueben Harpole, and Derek Mosley were all infected with the Coronavirus. Some had to be hospitalized, quarantined, etc.

Word on the street that if your temp is over 100, with a cough and/or shortness of breath it’s viable to get tested. If you are tested positive with this virus: STAY HOME! 14 days. Now let me conclude with this: for us the semi healthy folks: keep your immune systems on point. Take your vitamins, hot liquids, etc. In addition to social distancing, add Physical Distancing! That means no huggings, touching, etc. Wear your plastic gloves when handling food, cleaning or any other need. Plus if you are out doing essential needs for food, clothing and other needy assigned work: unlike DJ Khaled who says that you’re being selfish…NO!

If you have a need to go out during this Pandemic like medicine or Milk, that is not being selfish! Being selfish is actually going out with your friends at a dance club or like the fools at Spring Break thinking they won’t get it. Well who are the JackA****es now? This outbreak does not care about your age changing to 21. Or being worried about world hunger or acting like it’s not serious. Oh, it is serious. Wait until they get older, and the stuff will haunt them like the Ghost of Christmas Past.

So between now and later: just do your part to be safe and sound.

Welcome to the first My Take of 2020 or the first My Take to make the transiton of the 2020’s to be. We all know trannsition, right?

But now, time to talk about attire that many of us know that shouldn’t be done. I’m talking about the attire that the Greeks wear all the time. But the gist of this, is or was the still talk of the town that many Greeks and Non-Greeks still comment to this day.

Now we all know by now that Boosie (or Lil’ Boosie or Bossie Bad***) was wearing a red shirt that had the Greek letters of the Fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi on it. Boosie was wearing the shirt at a basketball game and yet like many, it was photographed and shared online. But of course when the picture was passed around, so did the comments from the fraternity. Many have took it to social media that Boosie should have taken the shirt off because he is not in the fraternity. According to Boosie, he bought the shirt from a store, a public store. But many had to ask, what was the store thinking to sell a Fraternity Shirt to the public KNOWING that it should have been bought in a school or within the Fraternity?

If many haven’t already forgotten, this was similar three years ago, when Lalah Hathaway did the same thing. She was given a fraternity hat that her famous father, Donny Hathaway wore while as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha. She, like Boosie put on the hat, took a picture, shared it and many of the Fraterntity told her to take it off in a harsh manner. When Lalah went on the show, The Real to address this issue, she admit that she knew nothing about the Fraternity culture in terms of the hat or letters. But yes, Donny was an Alpha member. And it resonated with the boundaries that many know now. So after what Boosie went through, he understood in all of not wearning the Kappa Shirt, but he had a deal with the Fraternity by learning the Shimmy Dance. While dancing to Boosie’s song, “Wipe Me Down”. yes, that’s the song according that the Kappas are dancing to.

SO…..this needs to be asked, why are many of us are falling for the trap yet again? All the time, same thing. When this story broke, it almost reminded me that again, we are dealing things that are meanlingless. Folks again are still going to ask, “All about a dang shirt!?” REALLY?! We got folks who couldn’t afford shirts DAILY and you Kappas worrying about Boosie wearing your letters!? FOH – I know what that means by the way. No comment.

But yes, even in the year of 2020 this matter is still being discussed. And like many who we see around our churches, neighborhoods, stores, events, reunions in all, we see alot of folks who wear the Greek Attire of their Fraternity and Sorority. Of course we do. It’s all over the place. All on the cars and everything. We know it when we see it. BUT: I will admit those who wear those things more often, they know about the organizations more than those who have not pledged or honored into a secret society. Just like many we see who wore the uniform while in service, but for those of us can never understand the valor of while wearing the uniform. They had to earn the right and privilege to get those letters, medals, uniforms in all to display, show and tell what this is. However there are many who might hear the story, but will not understand the hard work that lead to getting the letters and unis. When folks who didn’t pledge or suited up, have to act like they did, it’s like STOLEN VALOR! I am a Vietnam Veteran Son. If were to walk around with my Father’s Bronze Star Medal and showing it off like a fool, I’ll get checked! I DO NOT do that at all! That would be a slap in the face becaseu I didn’t earn it. He did. Now that he’s deceased, the only thing I can do is just display it and tell the stories. As far as the attire, I’ve bought Vietnam Veteran Son Shirts, 25th Infantry Son Shirts, Veteran Son Patches, etc. The Keywords are these two words: VETERAN SON. They can’t say nothing about that. Its’ all about honoring my father’s service. PERIOD.

Plus also, I’m a member of the United Methodist Church. I know what the Cross and Flame is and it’s meaning. For all those whom are Greek, pay attention: If I see you walking around wearing a Cross and Flame, and you don’t know what it is and have no knowledge about it, of course I’ll straight check you! Point blank ifs ands and no buts required. Nope! The only way to become a member is to do what you guys do: come check us out.

So….regarding this: what about those in the fraternities and sororities, Masons/Shriners/Eastern Stars in all? What about them? Well even though many of us can’t wear their attire, but maybe JUST MAYBE they need to start making supporter shirts, or proud relative of a Mason/Shriner member shirts. For all you in the Divine 9, especially those that partied up in January with your founder days that many of us were like:

I’m sorry this is hilarious, but many of us busy folks never get to celebrate these days all the time. I’m just saying for real. But many of you who got offended by a non-Greek wearing greek stuff, why don’t you make apparel that would have “ALPHA SON” or Son of a Iota? or Zeta’s Daughter, “Divine 9 Supporter” or Sigma Gamma Rho’s Niece? Since many again are offended about the non-greeks wearing the shirts, make those for who want to support your groups! Do that!

Then maybe we’ll get some where without all this mess of dealing with attire! I’m just offering my two cents of this matter that would be better for the benefit of mankind!

Think it over.

Oh you know I’m about to go in. 2019 was crazy! It had me on point, it had me on rotation, and it had me bugged out. But at the end of me asking these crazy questions we might understand it better. But…since this is the last Scratching my Head all this time of the year, but it’s not the last! So as we countdown to the last ticks of 2019, and we prepare for our Watch Night Services, All Night parties, and family gathering to usher in transition of 2020, and yes to get our resolutions out of what we want to do in all: you’ve guessed it, I’m scratching my head YET AGAIN!

Who was EMBARRASSED HARSHLY in 2019 that will not go away? And will it take a long time too heal?

When folks in the United Methodist Church talk about the future of Black Churches how come many pass over it? And what is the main reason why many UMC objectifying the reasons of not including the LGBTQIA Community as being outcasts?!

And this is the last question before the ball drops and clocks out for 2019: What will you carry into 2020 that you learned in 2019? And also, what will you NOT take into 2020 that you went through hellfire and brimstone in 2019?

Now: let’s go party.

Happy New Year!

Folks: it is now time to archive the year 2019. Its time that the year of the Pig is to be archived in the Pig Pen. But of course, the living examples of voting, racism, protesting, and yet many others will linger on. We’ll know, it’s about time that the year of 2019, is now over. But before that happens of dropping balls and popping corks: lets us review the year that was.

So now, in that case, it’s time for the Traditional Stephen’s Spot Annual Review blog of 2019! It’s time to review, summarize and learn from the year has gone by very efficiently.

And Perkins Restaurant in the Metro Milwaukee Area, was honored in the 50 years of business/service since 1969.

Hold Up: Those that left professions locally: Beverly Taylor formally of Fox 6 resigned earlier this year to focus on new endeavors. More recently, she is now on a different platform called 411 Live.

The Bad Nationally

Racism struck again in America. And it has not been nice.

Most of the Black Republicans were not very vocal against the 45.

The Mueller Report ended due to “facts” of the lying of 45 via Wikileaks.

The Senate Republicans of course support 45 of his antics and decisions.

School and Church Shootings in America had ties to Mass shootings this year over 400 in total.

Alex Trebek of “Jeopardy!” announced he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Not just him, but also Congressman John Lewis was recently diagnosed with the same condition.

Matthew Knowles, Beyonce and Solange’s Father was recently diagnosed and free from Breast Cancer.

Stabbings in New York around Hanukkah, 2019.

Many of the Caucasian Americans had false accusations of Black folks ranging from barbecuing, shopping, entering their place of residence, jobs, campaigns and many other constructive ideas and objectives. And now, that might be against the law.

The state of Black Hair on Black Women remained a suspect of those who hate it.

Several members of the 45 Administration were fired or resigned despite the position of power. The usual happened again.

Bill Cosby – formally known as America’s Favorite Dad, recent fired off vs Eddie Murphy after his appearance on SNL on December 21st.

Families are still separated near the U.S. Mexico Border.

The 45 Administration just recent signed into law regarding creating a Space Force.

Blackface still remains a racist concept. Especially among white students on PWI Campuses.

In addition to the officers killed in Milwaukee, other officers in different parts of the Country also passed on in and off duty. Slightly higher than 2017.

Hurricane Dorian.

The United Methodist Church’s General Conference had made one of the worst moves in terms of not allowing the LGBT to serve or to partake in a regular style worship service based on their lifestyle, etc. However some have stepped up and were fighting back against the conservatism of the members and groups that opposed it. The fight still lingers.

Despite of the Dow Jones being up in normal ranges, many felt it has not favored everyone in the country.

The Democrats had been on survival mode mostly against each other in the debates and contenders like Kamala Harris, Beto O’Rourke have dropped out. Plus also the contenders still struggle and trying to find a way to appease to the African-American base.

Kanye West meeting with Joel Osteen after his debut album of Jesus is King. Then many realized that it was sketchy and weird after his recently encounters with 45.

The ongoing talk of 45’s Wall.

The Bad Locally

Racism, of course, struck Wisconsin. Not just in Milwaukee.

For the first time in nearly 56 years, the Milwaukee Veterans Parade was altered due to lack of funding support.

This year back in the summer, former WRRD Host of the Forum Sherwin Hughes announced his farewell from Talk Radio. And not only that the station he previous worked at was not very nice and racist. Keep in mind this was a LEFT WING PROGRESSIVE RADIO STATION! However, most recently he returned to his own organization, “Leaders for a Better Community” and has been on the radio as a guest to talk about his viewpoints on the climate of politics in Milwaukee. Sherwin’s last day on the radio was September 10th.

A little controversial decision via the Wisconsin GOP in their meddling in regarding the honoring of African Americans in the state, which concerned former San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick. But….The City of Milwaukee honored him in response. Later on in the year, another member of the Wisconsin GOP, Rep. Scott Allen wanted to have white figures to be added to the Black History Resolution for 2020. But the black politicians like Sen. Lena Taylor commented that in her words: “Once again we have a non-black state legislator deciding who should be honored in the state legislature’s 2020 Black History Month resolution,” she said. “Without consulting black state legislators, Rep. Scott Allen, at 4pm on a Friday, before the Christmas break, issues a Black History month resolution. This is an insult and disgraceful.” via DailyKaos.com

For the second time in two years, two more Police Officers from the Milwaukee Police Department were killed off and on duty.

A tried attempt to acquire more federal funds for the Milwaukee Streetcar fell short in trying to expand the Vel Philips Avenue area to the Fiserv Forum.

Foxconn still remained in question about the legality of access to jobs and government.

By the numbers: The number of homicides in Milwaukee was at 102.

Opioids in the rural areas were mostly a problem and it remains a dilemma to this day.

Like last year, the unlikely viewpoint of White Women and some men calling the police on African-Americans due to being civilized and doing constructive aspects. Even jobs. Such as : Barbecuing While Black, Campaigning While Black, Working While Black, and Volunteering While Black.

Voter Suppression was unleashed harshly in several states. Especially among elderly black folks. And to add, names on the voter rolls began to be purged.

Blackfaces. Yep, even in Wisconsin!

The Ugly Locally

As much as everyone likes the University of Wisconsin, the Homecoming Video featuring most of white student population was pulled that had reminders of the University’s checkered past of racism. And many of the black and minority students called out the school’s racism angles including UW Senior, Payton Wade.

The state was informed that approximately 200,000 citizens names might be “purged” due to moving or not updating their voter stats.

The State of Wisconsin ordered the Homeless near the Marquette Interchange (aka Tent City) to be removed due to health and safety concerns.

Plus is that not even ugly enough for 2019: One of our hotels in Milwaukee, the Comfort Suites on Park Place does not want any Milwaukee Citizens in 30 miles settling in to their hotel. Even one of our Alderwomen Chantia Lewis was denied access to stay. But our local Milwaukee Black Panthers protested that place in the result of their actions.

Final Take:

And the final analysis of my point of view: Well this has been a year of blogging. I’ve tried my best to fill in as much as I can, but the thing is all hasn’t been that bad. If many took the chance, I do this on the Stephen’s Spot Facebook Page and Twitter Page to extend the news and viewpoints to gain more twists and turns to get the gears going. Of course the old stuff mattered. But what does matter IS THE NEW! I’ve talked about topics that mainly affect the concerns and needs of the people. And if you’re one of the online folks that jumped aboard, well you’re on time. Kind of late, but……

Now I must say this. If you the audience no matter where you’re from and if you checked out this blog beforehand or just now tuning in, thank you. Yes, this blog site has reached over 1,000 plus posts and over 25,000 hits. But likewise, there is so much to unpack. Ideas like health, finance, employment, gender rights of Men and Women, introversion, Voting, my city of Milwaukee, religion, social media false postings and opinions, and other avenues to explore. Even as a black man in America, I too must write my stories because nobody else can the way I do.

Knowing that yes, writing blog posts was and is, definitely hard work! It’s not easy at times, but when it’s on your mind to know and summarize of what’s going on in your community, that is when you get your mind jogging and get to work.

1,000+ posts are good. But the best is still YET to come!

Happy New Year!

2020 IS NEXT.

Okay. It seems that the holiest of days upon us. We’re talking about Christmas Day. However, by the time you’re reading this it’s Christmas Eve in the world today. And yes like many others you’re probably out shopping getting your gifts, ready to get them wrapped. Watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” or a movie called “The Night Before” or “Home Alone” or any other holiday movie of your choosing with your with your family and friends. But like anything else even on the holiest night of the year, we still deal with concerns and problems in the world. And also in America. And in our communities. And in our neighborhoods. So as we celebrate Christmas 2019 tomorrow, most of you already right now. Yes it is the happiest holiest days of the year. But then again, I’m scratching my head….

So the woke conscious folks hate on Christmas this badly all this time? What else is new?

Question: why do people get offended with the “X” in Merry Christmas? Many already didn’t know that the X is the UNKNOWN! Go back to your Roman Numerals from History Class! And futhermore, no one really knows when Jesus was born anyway. Let that sink in.

Who really deserves a Christmas holiday? Those who have everything or those who have nothing to share or to comment or to explain to get mad?

Yes we all know that Christmas is not the same for us older folks. But why do the older folks have to spoil the fun for the young to enjoy their first or some 18th or 12th Christmas as a child? Many of you are just bitter! Let them have their fun. For now.

Did Eddie Murphy brought it on SNL?

For us the Introverted, are we holding up our end of the deal with some quiet time in between breaks? We know us!

Okay truth-tellers and woke folks: can you really explain to me exactly what truth lies within Christmas being as a “pagan holiday?” If Christmas is supposed to be a so-called pagan holiday, do you think your birthdays/anniversaries are pagan holidays too? Yeah, follow that! Is Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or Marcus Garvey Day a Pagan Day? Don’t get me started!

Of all the old School Christmas jams: Which sticks out the most? No matter if it’s soul, R&B, Rock, Jazz, or Hip Hop? You already know!

So, what was the best gift to give for your kids for Christmas of 2019? And for the Adults what was the best tech gadget? Or woman’s gift, for Christmas of 2019 that you may have missed or didn’t know about?

For many of us who are experiencing a “Blue Christmas”, that means that there is someone who used to sitting in the chair or at a table spot that is very empty is no longer with us. So the big question is what will be the ultimate opportunity to not only to try to move forward, but try to build new ideas for new traditions with the Christmas holiday?

Okay this needs to be asked: How was the new Star wars movie? Don’t say nothing here!

For us in the Midwest, we are having a foggy Christmas Eve. And also a mild Christmas Day. Everybody in Milwaukee has a Harley out with a Golf Game?

Back in the day, sitting in front of a TV with the commercials on. Now who remembers the real Classic Christmas commercials that used to get you in the mood for the spirit of the holiday, and also the future of the presents to be opened?

Who’s ready for the TV Yule log on Christmas morning? All day until about 6 p.m.? If not, you still have the Google Fireplace.

I need to know this question. How you going to top Christmas in 2020?

Word on the street, or in the neighborhood, or in the world that one of the cathedrals in France may not have a Christmas Eve Mass for the first time in 200 plus years. That’s like a long streak being broken. Any other Cathedral or Church experienced that?

Next week in 2020, January 1st: can the Badgers ACTUALLY WIN THE ROSE BOWL?!

Milwaukee in years past had great Christmas decoration things. Who wants to see them back?

Has anyone ever got tired of the Hallmark Christmas shows yet?

Oh I see that the other channels have Christmas shows out. Now you know have to realize that other channels like BET or TVONE have their Christmas Specials on lockdown like crazy?

For the Jewish readers, How is your Hanukkah going?

Is it time to do a modern version of the following movies like It’s a Wonderful Life? Even in today’s times of the so-called woke and consciousness of darn near everything?

Here’s a question also and this may kind of hurt: How is because that Churches are not scratching the surface enough of the real meaning of Christmas as much as everyone else?

Bonus question to ask on this Christmas Eve: And I know many of you have probably seen this movie. Who really got scared of FX’s version of A Christmas Carol? That right there, was THE CHRISTMAS CAROL! It was not your Grandpa’s or Grandmother’s Version. It wasn’t the fuzzy warm version like Mickey or Bugs Bunny. The BBC and FX went so DEEP! That was a Dickens!

Does feeling nostalgic at Christmas all day really bringing back those memories? And if so how will it go for the next era?

Okay this needs to be asked to what was the purpose of 45 have to implement the thing called the “Space Force?” Really?

For 2020, I hope the Democrats get a real Christmas present by being hard on 45 for next year. Can they actually make this happen without beating each other up like the royal rumble?

BEFORE YOU VOTE: Have you checked your Voter Stats lately?

Before this year is over, and I know many of us are going to be doing this a lot: What is going to be the best and worst of 2019 that you want to forget, pass, and not to move forward?

I don’t know about you, but when Christmas comes, does anyone’s mind wonders off and forgetting about the day and time? And no, there is no weed or alcohol.

Do people really seriously wake up about 3 in the morning for opening the presents?

Should Black Milwaukee do a story of the history of Christmas in their household traditions?

Optional question: who traditionally goes to church on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? And then to the house and CHILL?

The Milwaukee Bucks went hard on Christmas Day vs the Knicks last year. Could they do the same vs the Sixers this year?

PACKER BACKERS! We got the NORTH! But we know it’s not enough. What is enough you asked? You already know!

Rumor has it the Christmas garland represents a symbol of a snake going around a tree. Now I need to know this serious question and I know a lot of you on Facebook have probably asked this question or read you some what statement on the question with all those memes: Where is the actual proof of reference? This is really a fault on our Education!

For my Sagittarius folks, did we had a good season that made our Birthdays good? Sling the arrows all the way!

There’s always a War on Christmas. Why?!!!!

More and more people have actually spent money on Christmas day than any other day of the whole year. Why is that?

So the Christianity Today is now against the words of Trum….I mean 45. Where have they been at?!!

Should every holiday be a Christmas Day in it? Easy question to spoil.

Why do people get tired on Christmas Eve anyway? You know it’s good exercise! You know, walking and junk.

And one final question to ask: who still does display Black Santas on the front lawn or in this case having a Black Santa/Mrs. Claus teaming up at the Malls and schools? Oh yeah, there are Black Santa everywhere. Even as displays in the house. Just like the white ones.

So with that: Merry Christmas everybody! Now you may unwrap your gifts.

By now, you had the turkey. You had the dressing. You had the cranberry sauce, vegetables, and pie. You’re probably stuffed with all the food. And yes, you probably went to a late night club and got started by shaking down those pounds, carbs and calories. Of course, that’s what Thanksgiving would do to you you fill up and you got to lose weight! Hopefully many of you have had a blessed Thanksgiving, a blessed time with your families and friends and strangers probably came in and see you have something to eat. And hopefully that maybe you’ll do the same thing for the upcoming Christmas season. And of course we have to talk about politics, 45’s crappy stuff, the ongoing problems and concerns about black neighborhoods, churches being so hypocritical, (which partially the good ones can stay afloat) and also your basic everyday road rage and folks driving to crazy and asking the same by the question what is your problem? And just the ad more walls and joys and concerns of holiday employment. Yes if you have not guessed it Christmas is coming. But guess what? I’m scratching my head again.

How thankful are really the things you have already, and willing to go for?

Question for Milwaukee, now we all know that mayor Tom Barrett it’s going to put his seat on the line for the fifth time. But the big question is will he able to retain it with the likes of Lena Taylor and Tony Zielinski. Plus voters that may or may not favor him?

Is the Milwaukee Streetcar really that pointless?! After one year?!

Okay this needs to be asked, which relative really sparked that conversation that you did not want to talk about at the dinner table on Thanksgiving?

You know this is going to happen which came first your football game or Macy’s Parade?

Milwaukee: the Brewers now has a new logo, as a matter of fact: they have brought back the old ball/glove logo that has been slightly enhanced for the ball club’s upcoming 50th season next year. Yes the Brewers are turning 50. Will this next era bring a thing called a Championship?

Already, the 2010s decade is vastly closing real soon, What was your best moment?

Okay this needs to be asked again: which families do and do not use canned cranberry sauce?

For those who may have been “triggered” on Thanksgiving, you probably read about the Indians being murdered after a church service on Sunday morning. And for those of you who probably have never had a chance to re-read the question you might have been triggered all the wrong questions. Did any of us ever had the chance to research the truth?

Which of you Facebook and Instagram users were so scared and worried about the transmissions being almost cancelled on Thanksgiving?

Who was not prepared for the “onslaught” on Black Friday?

For people who drive so stupid in Wisconsin roads, Wisconsin streets, Milwaukee areas, and I know who I’m talking about, when someone is trying to make a turn, or coming out the driveway, coming out of the garage , why do you honk your horn so bad? That right there is going to make you look stupid and irritated. Don’t be surprised if cars come equipped with cameras so they can record your every single driving mode get your license plate and check you. And by the way, that idea is coming for me in 2020 for my cars. Just wait. I’m not playing!

Is Black Friday really worth shopping nowadays?

For the sake of those asking and this is the only question asking why is it that a TV is mentioned on Black Friday the most? As everybody knows.

Right now, the Hallmark channel has it’s Christmas movies playing. And many of us are still wondering why. But you know something, BET, TVOne, and other channels have Christmas movies too. Can you check out those?

For all of my introverted readers, can any of us relate to this?

Attention Black Friday shoppers don’t mean to ask this but, you will be hearing this from your pastor on Sunday. Don’t get triggered because you know it’s the truth. Am I wrong or right?

Is the pressure of the WWE is really building from AEW wrestling?

For all of my UPS, FedEx, USPS, and many other delivery package drivers this holiday season take a look at this:

Now you really have to ask this one question, what kind of mess and crap is this? and the thing is the woman on the video had some crack was on drugs by the way claiming that her car was broken into so many times on outside of a house. Anything is try that turn into racism is really stupid. I hope that no black driver or driver helper this holiday season coming out should not want not and will not go through that type of stupid remarks of racism and many other factors. And this is one of the main reasons why race is still on the deck of the topics of tables in American households, classrooms, churches, the dinner table, the neighborhoods, the malls, the restaurants, and many other places we go and spend our money every single day. They say that the holiday supposed to bring up the good folks in everybody, but I have to remember they can bring out the worst in people too, and this is not about losing folks to death. Even racism place apart around this season especially for those who are trying to do some good deeds by deliver packages to houses or businesses every single day. And don’t assume that the influence of 45 is afoot.

For Small Business Saturday, the day after Black Friday, which is the best small business you go to support every single day?

For Cyber Monday, which online store you support the most everyday? and don’t assume it’s always Amazon.

For Giving Tuesday, which companies or donations you support the most? As in idea: DONATE TO YOUR ALUMNI!

Milwuakee, it was so naked without our former traditional Christmas Parade that lasted for so long. What will it take to get a new tradition like that to stick for another Generation?

Speaking of “the current Generation that doesn’t want to go on” what is up with Milwaukee restauruant Vitucci’s closing up after 85 years?

Now for you Millennials and Generation Z folks: What is up with this #OKBoomer mess? If any generation can go one on one the most, is Generation X.

For my Live Streaming Folks and I know you got this: Christmas is coming and I’m looking for a gift to save money and get the best live streaming device on the market. I’m looking at Amazon Firesticks, Roku, Android TV JetStream devices and that’s it. So I’m asking all of you, which is the best one you think is the best to buy? Drop a comment in the box or on Facebook.

Sometimes football players make bonehead moves. Myles Garrett. And also this Ole Miss Player, Elijah Moore after making a play, made a dog peeing gesture and costed him and the team the game vs Mississippi State. What was the point of that dumb move?

You know the Milwaukee Bucks are RED HOT right now. How far will they go for another playoff run?

So far, the Green Bay Packers had 8 victories and 3 losses. But this last loss vs a different San Francisco Team gave the Green and Yellow a worst L on the record. The last time they played the 49ers: Colin Kaepernick was playing and won 17-3. Yeah Niners, the Pack won that one. But December is coming and the team usually comes out firing the Big Guns the most in the birthday month of Aaron Rodgers. And mine. Will the Packers make a statement and bust out the guns again in the 12th Month?

And so far, the Wisconsin Badgers are undefeated at the Battleground. And they must go for the Axe vs Minnesota. I think the Badgers must use this as a chance to get redemption vs the Golden Gophers after this ugly L in the Mad City last year:

Will they do this? And keep in mind, it’s not the same Badgers team like last year.

In the next 8 months, Milwaukee will be home of the DNC Convention. Is the Brew City/Cream City really ready for full tilt in Democratic Blue?

For you non Milwaukeeans, yes we’re also called Cream City. Not because of cows or milk. It’s really because of the buildings that have a creamy look on them that blend in. Who knows? And you know why the Milwaukee Bucks have “Cream City” on the jerseys?

How about this interview between the Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin? Very interesting to see on the WWE Network!

Is the confidence of Christmas still an all time high? Not weather wise I should say.

Just to add also, TV One is doing at Family Matters Reunion all weekend long. Yes, nothing but Urkel all day and night. Who’s watching?

If the decade of the 2010s were to end today, what would have been the worst and best moment? I’ll also save that next month.

CALLOUT: Black people: why do you still put a pic of White Jesus on your Facebook pages? Knowing the fact you know better that Jesus WAS BLACK! Speaking of “slave mentality” and “being on the plantation”.

Black People: you do realize that there is an African Heritage Study Bible that really details the truth in biblical times?

Uh-oh: there are names being purged from the voting records. You voters better get to your Election Offices to make sure you are straight with your voter statuses! Now will you be ready when the voting year comes?

All this technology stuff and google searches, and you can’t really read certain books?

And the last thing to ask: After all this weekend of Black Fridays in all, and the racism, and the good things to happen yet to come, what will the 12th month bring and to make sure that you stay afloat?

In the meantime: Happy Thanksgiving!

Here are the rules: Everyone knows how this goes yet again. And it’s really simple. No need to link or google or even #Hashtag. Today, many around the country and in the household or other areas, we Americans will be celebrating that holiday of food called Thanksgiving. From the Parades to the NFL Games, Dog Shows, or other new traditional ideas that will boost the food day. And yes, there will be us going out to the clubs and shaking off the pounds to get loose for Christmas. Or staying home for the house parties. Or just now, folks going shopping. Really?!

And yes, there will be constant reminders of the horrors that our Native American brothers and sisters will not participate in this Thanksgiving Day due to the killing of their ancestors outside of a church on a Sunday morning many moons ago. Henceforth, The National Day of Mourning. We know this. And our Native brothers/sisters are marking 50 years of that horrible reminder that is constantly missed in our schools. It actually happened.

But this holiday, yes does have the two words of Be Thankful for the things and ideas we already have. So here in its 12th Anniversary tradition, here is another traditional Stephen’s Spot Thanksgiving Blog of “Be Thankful”. Break out the tablets, Smartphones, PC’s or laptops. Start reading!

If you have a GOOD PAYING job that is good for you and it pays well for you or family, be thankful.

If you don’t have a job and still looking and STILL not quitting by going to the job fairs or making connections, be thankful!

If you have good insurance, either health, auto, home, vision, or dental STILL be thankful.

If you have a good car or truck that gets you to work every day, and still runs well with or without repairs, be thankful.

If you FINALLY have a good doctor or you still don’t have one, but still want to get that monkey (and constant NAGGING) off your back, STILL be thankful about improving your health. And STILL trying. Take your time!

Now I need to say this: If you found out that you have a chronic illness like Diabetes, and you had a devastating moment of asking why it happened and didn’t have the words. But also you had conversations and online postings about those who have it already and knows the feelings of the battles, and you learn from them and they can inspire you to be better and get with the program of what they know, and still believe that it’s possible that you control diabetes and not let it get the best of you. In this month of National Diabetes Awareness Month: BE THANKFUL that you have a support system that can back you up. STICK WITH THE PLANS!

If you have a cool dentist and he or she is good and professional, be thankful.

Like any year, if you have lost any loved one this year or years past, and still feel down that the space is empty or the chair is empty, and you want to fill it up with a new generation of family members that want to pull ahead, even close friends, we must try to be thankful to carry on. It’s hard, but we must. I still miss my father, and like last year, my Thanksgiving will be different without him.

If you had folks praying for you all year for all the things you’ve been experienced no matter good or bad, be thankful that there are folks that know, and are in your corner.

If you are expecting a raise in 2020 and will be getting it, be thankful!

Do you still love your gifts and talents that are unappreciated? And still, do them all the time? Be thankful!

If you still got your parents and/or relatives as your back up, be thankful that they still care.

Got any good neighbors that know you no matter how long? Be thankful.

Met any new neighbors lately? Be thankful.

Moved to a different city recently that you feel is best? Be thankful.

Moved back to a city that is best? Be Thankful.

Married with or without kids? Be thankful.

Single and no kids? Be thankful.

Single with kids? Be Thankful.

Divorced? Be thankful.

You still have a church home that you stay and willing to have your kids to grow IN THE CHURCH? Be thankful.

If you have been given a side gig, and love it to be paid with that cash money or checks, no matter what it is, be thankful.

Men, did you celebrate International Men’s Day in #Movember? Be Thankful!

Got a good pet or know a pet that knows you well? Be thankful.

If you STILL give back to your community, your Alumni, your Church, your Scholarship Committees, your Fraternity, your Sorority, your Unions or other groups that have been treating you good all this time, be thankful!

Still avoiding fake news? Be thankful. They suck.

If you read the old blogs that I can’t control the reading, but still want to read what I want to say regardless from my black point of view, be thankful! Not just for me, but for you.

If you STILL got stuff in your house that you want to give away, be thankful. Somebody will take it.

Still fighting Racism, White Supremacy, Sexism, and others? – Be Thankful.

If you switch your career to a new company in the past year or will go to a new company to come, be thankful!

Own a business? Got your own time schedule? Invested in a product or material that worked? Be thankful.

If you got many reachable sources to give, or to provide, or to share, or to support, and it’s really catching on, you better be thankful!

If you are planning to vote in 2020, be thankful! Get your ballots ready.

If you are looking forward to another holiday weekend of fun, be thankful.

If you are NOT shopping on Black Friday, but willing to spend Black Friday outdoors in the woods or parks, Be Thankful! It’s a release to avoid a violent backlash.

If you are not shopping on Black Friday, but willing to spend your cash at a local business, or on Cyber Monday, be thankful.

If you are donating to your favorite charity on Giving Tuesday, Be thankful!

If you can’t wait to finally deck your halls for Christmas or Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, AFTER Thanksgiving (some of you did it ahead of time) Be Thankful.

If you were removed from a company that had you started in the game, then a rift in Management occurred, but went to another company that is good so far, BE THANKFUL!

If many in the black community have black pride PLUS Melanin Responsibility to uplift our black people without sarcasm and forced stuff, BE THANKFUL!

Now I have to say this: if many have given back to our Veterans or supported our military while on duty, be thankful!

If you are apart of the American Legion and have been celebrating 100 years of it’s existence, and still give back and inspiring those to join up in the Legion, Auxiliary (even now that Husbands can join) the Sons and Legion Riders, I want say yes, BE THANKFUL!

If you are walking tall real good, be thankful.

If you are expecting a really good breakthrough like this year or next month, BE THANKFUL!

If you still condemn any racist act on the internet, social media, at your job, or in the house, your church demoninaton, or in the neighborhood, or any act of disrespect, forced patriotism, and you had to write letters of complaints to a certain company, STILL be always thankful to get your voice heard! Put the pressure on them on not coming back!

If you are upgrading your house to be better, be thankful!

If you got a plan to take a vacation, be thankful.

If you still got your old game systems on a Throwback Thursday and if they still work, be thankful!

If you still listen to your old school joints on your radio, or maybe some new school material, be thankful.

NOTE: For my readers that had to go through hell with school shootings, and still feeling hopeless. I want you all to understand that it’s a hard Thanksgiving Day for you as we know. But in a sense, you should be thankful that you can rebuild. And BE EXTRA THANKFUL that yet, you are still living! And be EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA THANKFUL that a breakthrough is coming for the better!

If you are a conscious-minded person, a defensive-minded person that you know is best, for your own opinions and viewpoints without any harm or hurtful feelings towards humanity, be thankful!

For my Sagittarius readers: guess what? Our season is back! Are we thankful, now? (SAGS RULE!)

And finally: If I missed anything that many have thought about, and it’s good: we all should be and forever so thankful that we must march on. Like they say at the black funerals: It’s already been said. It’s already done.

Happy Thanksgiving!

#BeThankful

Men of the world, say to your fellow male neighbor and say these words: “Neighbor, we made it to another year!” Yeah, just like in church. If many have not forgotten nor complained, today is International Men’s Day 2019. And yet its a day for all men young and old to be acknowledged and appreciated in terms of not just men being men, but also being better men each and every time. International Men’s Day comes 8 months after the bickering questioning about the occasion after the women had their International Women’s Day in March. If you don’t know what I’m talking about: here it was 8 months ago, and many were asking “When is International Men’s Day?” over and over! Don’t act like you forgot! Or didn’t know. For a short time, International Men’s Day has been on the radar, but many didn’t pick up the signal. I’m not talking about Father’s Day, I’m talking “International Men’s Day”. See, Father’s Day is reserved for men whom are FATHERS! International Men’s Day is for ALL MEN regardless if they are fathers or not. If many men had been wished Happy Father’s Day mistakenly by women this past year in all, it’s their fault. Not every man is a father. Let’s be clear. International Men’s Day however is an unsung day for men for all men to celebrated and also to talk about the concerns that men face each time besides Prostate and Testicular Cancer. We’re also talking discrimination because of being a man. We’re talking about financial concerns, spiritual concerns, mental concerns, bullying and many other manly concerns that men usually don’t talk about but they know it. Even when it comes to the book I bought this year, “Why Men Hate Going to Church.” Oh, I just went there. But yet, on a day like today for Men, let’s talk about all of this.

I’m reading several articles about the question, “Should we be celebrating International Men’s Day?” But the question is, why aren’t many celebrating International Men’s Day? To answer the first part of the question of celebrating the occasion: YES! Why not this day? Why not have an extra day to celebrate the men in your lives? I’m not just saying this to men, but yes women, since you stumbled onto this blog, you’re in this too. Why not this?! We male dudes celebrate you every March 8th, and Mother’s Day and gush all over. However, when the Father’s Day comes as well as today, it doesn’t seem much. But on Father’s Day, it’s about men have to be stepped up to be real men by toughening up and improve. So as males we can’t be treated or dedicated like the women? Come on now.

Chivalry is now deemed a problem today. Especially, from all these now “Independent/I don’t need a man” women. Let’s tell the truth! It’s really all about being polite and respectful. Not trying to be a big concern. Many of us were brought up like this in sense of being respectful. Acting common sense. What happened to that? OK I get it. It’s a different time in all, but is there an area left where Men can just be polite and nice?

As I stated, it’s International Men’s Day. And no, not all men are dogs. We deserve our own day just like the women do. And with good reason. Where as the women have their day in March as well as Mother’s Day. We don’t complain there.

So yes to all men, we should embrace this International Men’s Day and just to think about it, it’s been 20 years this month on a Friday that this day was just launched. Or should I say relaunched: According to The Independent Website, “The date coincides with the birthday of the father of Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh, a doctor from Trinidad and Tobago who relaunched International Men’s Day in 1999.”

Now again, here is one example that International Men’s Day has been coming forward in a “trolling” sense:

“Every year on International Women’s Day, comedian Richard Herring makes it his mission to educate naysayers on the existence of International Men’s Day.”

“8 March, International Women’s Day is being celebrated today. Why [is] International Men’s Day [not] celebrated on some date? This proves that feminism prevails all over the world,” one person tweeted this year.

“Hey I was as angry as you, but when I Googled it to see if it was possible to set a men’s day up I discovered someone had already done it, It’s November 19th. Good news, hey?” Herring responded.

Now I want to pause here. How many of us actually didn’t know that this day existed? Raise your hand. Confess to your pastor or Lay Speaker. How many of us didn’t research? We supposed to be in the 21st century where the knowledge and information is supposed to be displayed instantly, but many of us really need to go back to school. Literally.

Moving forward in a sense:

“The aim of International Men’s Day is to celebrate positive male role models and to raise awareness of men’s issues. These include topics such as mental health, toxic masculinity and the prevalence of male suicide. International Men’s Day coincides with Movember, which involves men growing their facial hair in an effort to promote conversations about men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.”

Let me stop here again. This is the same stuff we heard in June regarding Men’s Health Month. But what I don’t see here is concerns of bullying, harassment of any kind from sexual, financial, and many other factors that Men also face that rarely gets talked about. Men can be harassed for money, sexual favors of non interest, extortion, domestically abused, and mentally harmed. And its not just men doing the damage. Women can do the same thing and get away with murder also. Watch it females! It’s not just all you and non for us.

“The observances of International Men’s Day are part of a global love revolution,” said Dr Teelucksingh. “International Men’s Day is observed on an annual basis by persons from all walks of life, who support the ongoing effort to improve lives, heal scarred hearts, seek solutions to social problems, mend troubled minds, reform the social outcasts and uplift the dysfunctional.”

Again, this for all (and they mean ALL) males. No matter if you’re single, married, widowed, divorced, etc. It doesn’t matter if you have a job, looking for another degree from college, served in uniform or in jail, or maybe getting a finger up to improve, introverted, extroverted, woke, or just maybe to better themselves around other men, the day is for men not only to celebrate universally, but also to find new ways to improve for themselves, community, and families. After all, can we improve our manliless overall?

To conclude the statement this rounds out about the 2019 occassion:

The theme for International Men’s Day 2019 is: “Making a Difference for Men and Boys”. Warwick Marsh, coordinator of internationalmensday.co.uk, explained the inspiration behind this year’s chosen theme. “We want to promote the need to value men and boys and help people make practical improvements in men and boy’s health and well-being,” he said. “International Men’s Day encourages men to lead by example. Boys need positive male role models. Our broader community also needs positive male role models. This is the best way to create a fair and safe society which allows everyone the opportunity to flourish.”

This is highly agreeable. Us grown men need to be making a difference for our sons, nephews, grandsons, younger male cousins, godsons, and etc. Even if you don’t have kids, but you look out for them. It doesn’t matter if they help you on the job and/or church. Doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if you have health coverage that sucks. Each man must be called to do this every time. Through the good times and bad. And down right ugly. We hear from our women folks that “men need to step up” yet again. I’m still going to ask is, “how?” Step up to what?! That’s like saying that there needs to be a black history course segment in every classroom. Agreeable. But what are you going to do?! What’s on the menu? If the women were leading the example of having the answers, they organize and go. That’s what they do. In all their groups. But I hate to steal a line from the book, “Why Men Hate Going To Church”, men can’t be women. Ever heard the term, everybody is different? To quote WWE’s COO Triple H, “Follow that!”

What I want to get at, is I’m on Twitter or Instagram and I’m doing the #InternationalMensDay search online, and I came across a message or story or posting that dealt with some feminists in Australia that want to end International Men’s Day for a strange reason. That reason was about them being victims of rape, men’s rights, etc. Hold up wait a minute: AUSTRALIA! You are going to let your women citizens stop a International Men’s Day thing because some of the things that men get stumped on alot? That’s not making sense. What would have happen if MEN were stop International Women’s Day per se, and to stop it due to irregular pregnancies, sexism, racism, and FEMALE FORCED Date rape?! Ya’ll tripping. So it’s ok for Women to have their days and Men can’t? Because of flaws of Rape, Embezzlement, Extortion, Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence and a host of others mess that Men do? Well guest what ladies, you do the exact same thing! And many of you know it’s the truth! Men know it’s the truth. And if the mistake falls of the Men that turns out to be false, you still won’t believe them! Until they bring the receipts and maybe extra truths from the archives.

So I want to see more International Men’s Day to be acknowledged. Not just because it’s the same day as World Toilet Day. Actually it is. But however, if we have enough gumption to celebrate our female folks on International Women’s Day, there should be that same gumption on celebrating men. And yes Men, I need to say this: We just had our day on November 19th and for the next year, you should be PLOTTING for International Men’s Day 2020. That means you should be engaging new ideas in your men’s meetings, associations, Fraternities, Men’s Church Groups in all. Speaking of that, even the Boys Scouts (not Girls) BOYS SCOUTS NEED TO BE IN THE CONVERSATION! Or any other male group that is in existance. We know who and what they are. There was a time that the Masons were the go to guys when it concerns young black males. As well as any other groups. Now we don’t see that. Why is that? I think that the Masons, Shriners, Kappas, Iotas, Alphas, Sigmas, Omegas, or any other group our there needs to have an BIG OPEN HOUSE where the Men and Boys are invited to learn about the gorups and what it takes to become one to get involved. We see them with their symbols on their cars, jackets, hats, shirts, sweaters, etc. But they need to connect with the folks in the community especially with the young men! We know money is a factor. And it is. If a young male doesn’t have money for getting in, there is no deal. But what the groups should do, is offer a FREE MEMBERSHIP for one year! For all you male groups, can you promote this?

And yes for this International Men’s Day coming up of course men, check on your doctors to make sure you’re straight on the health tip. We know doctors suck. But don’t get so intimidated. How are we are going to function in our families and friends in all, we don’t get ourselves right? Plus not only that, we need to be right in our finance, our spiritual, and other important needs we see and do every time. For us single men who don’t have kids and not married. Some of this may not apply, but some do. And we get discriminated at times we are not tied to some partner. That has to stop. So yes, Happy International Men’s Day FOR ALL MEN! Not just the usual suspects or same people that get honored all day everyday!
