If many of us in Milwaukee can be happy for one day, is this. The soon-to-be former Sheriff David Clarke whom gave us pain and pestilence in the last 15 years in the county is finally moving out. My last blog talked about him being voted out in 2018, but I think 2018 for him came early.

This is just breaking news today, that Sheriff David Clarke resigned to take a position in Washington DC under #45’s Administration in the Department of Homeland Security.

Stay tuned. What I’m about to write next, will be a reason why this could be good for Milwaukee County. And a reason that America must pay attention in sense of being warned.

Here in Milwaukee, we also lost those who gave the city a voice, and a reminder:

Eric Von -known for being on WNOV, 1290 WMCS, and the health initiative of Brain, Brawn and Body. He was 58.

Slyville Smith – a 23 year old shooting victim that was killed in Milwaukee that also erupted portions of the city that was engulfed in flames.

Colin Demge- well known DJ in the Riverwest Area, died at 33.

Jay Anderson, killed in Wauwatosa by a police officer, At 25 years old.

My highlights of the year

And as usual: I want to put on my 2016 moments. I feel a need to say this because I’m hoping to have a year of better opportunities. 2016 was a year of milestones for me in this order:

20- the amount of years that I am my Church’s techie. I started out running the church sound system in 1996, and worked up to taking photos, and social media. The proper name is Commutations Chairperson and I was awarded an appreciation award for what I still do!

10 – the amount of years that I celebrated as an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Plus serving as a Election Inspector for the City of Milwaukee. All since 2006.

5 – the half milestone that I served as a board member for the John Marshall High School Alumni Association. Since 2011.

And yes, I turned 40 on December 5th.

In addition: I was the Official Photographer for the 46th NCJ-BMCR Jurisdiction Meeting in Milwaukee. And had networking implications of course.

Plus adding on another board title for a scholarship committee here in Milwaukee.

Sidenote: Oh I didn’t noticed this but, I appreciate the 20,275 views on my blog. This is great, BUT: the “same old reading stuff” bubbles must be busted in 2017!  I will find a way to do it, or maybe not. We’ll see.

Man, tell me this is not happening. Seriously this is not happening. I thought I was dreaming about another black man got killed but this is no dream. It’s was real. Another black male, Philando Castile out of Minnesota was gunned down in a traffic stop while in the car with his fiancée and daughter. And he was only 32 years old, worked with kids, no criminal record and, a Teamster member and tell me folks, why did he had to die? All because of a traffic stop. And trying to get his ID. All recorded on Facebook Live. Just a day or two ago, Alston Sterling out of Baton Rouge was gunned down and his death after the Fourth of July really sparked a wide reaction of horror that this man of 37 years old father is not coming back. Some say he had a gun. And if anyone had the chance to look at the hellish video of him being gunned down, I’ll bet you or others whom are African-American, were just as disgusted and horrified as everyone whom was feeling.

Today on Social Media, mostly on Facebook, it was a wave of sadness, anger, some wanted to know when are we going to start shooting back.No kidding. No matter what you call it, it was all the same thing. Most of us were black. And the feeling of this was a repeated broken record that was on played over and over again. Even I had to dive in on this being as this day of being horrified. In my commentary, this is what I written this morning about these killings:

Just my own commentary here: I like everyone else is really horrified about the recent events that took place in Louisiana (which I visited in 2001) and also in Minnesota(which I have visited in ’95) with the shootings. Both Alton Sterling and Philando Castile should not have died like that at all. PERIOD! This whole thing I’ll agree is a sickening effect that continues to plague us even today. In the 90’s, when most of us were teens in high school, the phrase “endangered species” came up concerning young black males. Now, in this era of Smartphones and stuff, that phrase came back like a boomerang. Straight up. I know many had gone in on the 4th, in terms of being targeted after celebrating the Independence (flags, decorating the Red White and Blue in all). Guess what: (and I’m surprised that others haven’t commented this) other holidays, occasions, birthdays, the first day of school, the last day of school, the midterm break from college, a block party event, anniversaries, reunions, even personal days can be celebrated, but also can have problems like this! It doesn’t matter if it’s New Years, Christmas, Labor Day, Halloween, Black Friday, and even after observing Juneteenth Day. I’m just saying! Every year, I say the words: The Struggle Continues after the 4th, and even after my December 5th Birthday. And in between. So yes, indeed the struggle continues. Even after two black men whom were doing their thing before their untimely deaths shouldn’t have been vanquished at all.

Again: The Struggle Continues!

Yes. That is my written take on these shootings. As I said in my last blog about this, and this again is for those who still have this disdain about the Fourth of July or Fourth of YOU LIE things: You do realize, and I don’t care if you are in Black Radio, you do realize that folks can be killed in any part of the calendar year, right? Why the Fourth of July? Many had to hard on that. What many don’t realize that anytime you might get this, bullets have no eyes, no holidays, no race, and definitely no anything. The deaths of these two black men whom passed on this week after the 4th, after the 240th Anniversary in all, is a constant reminder that our work is not done! Our work AGAIN is not DONE! America as 240 years young it is, must continue to accept the past of wrong doings to be a better nation with all Ameicans alike. Even the ones we don’t like. However with this act of violence, and the act of these Black Fathers are not here, again, we got to work harder on this. And if their names made the list of no convictions, I will NOT be suprised. This will be another example of the Struggle is continuing on now. There are 5 months left in the year of 2016. Next couple of months will be hard for these familes as they go through that phase of daddy is not coming home. The empty chair or space will be hard to look at though holidays, birthdays, and also not watching their kids growing up. I feel for the kids, that will have to experience of not growing up without a father. Already one of a well known actress Issa Rae according the wires, has raised money for Alton Sterlings’ kids in terms of scholarship money. And just to think that Issa is an Introvert.

Also on Facebook: A local cop of 2o years had to comment on today’s occurance that went so viral and this was a DEEP DEEP MESSAGE:

What you just heard is Officer Nakia Jones. An officer of 20 YEARS SINCE 1996 that had gone hell, fire and brimstone and was VERY passionate about this message. If you know those officers that had a open partnership that are doing the righth things and are very serious and are supportive of the officers that do have this mentality, this to me is one of those officers in America that is doing the job thus far. Yes we do get concerned about BAD Cops, and racist cops. But one of my relatives whom is a Milwaukee Officer said that not all cops are bad and not all black men are bad! This to me realize that there is some good in everything. As we should. There are good employees, bad employees and employees that are just there. However, there are employees that will listen and take up the class of responsibility to ENSURE that trust does STAYS OPEN!

Officer Jones wanted to quit like she indicated, but she stayed. And I hope and pray that Officers like her and men like her will continue to stay on the force for the right reasons and to ensure a clear path of understanding and openess in the communities.Hopefully this might open a new dialouge that we the community can call out the concerns that we need to do at all times!

This is so crazy. And yes this happened in the week of the 4th of July. And many of us on the African-American Tip have this mixed bag about the 4th. This morning as I was listening to WNOV, which I still do. There was a talk about the flag. In referecing in which about getting black folks to wear the flag. There was statement on the format (The Fourm) of giving a reason why blacks should wear the Stars and Stripes. Well here’s my reason and I think I could probably give a reason for this. Again if you are a WNOV Listener and black, and have a opinion on this, which I respect. I’ll give you my reason why I feel that rocking the stars and stripes is partially not a bad thing.

One of the real reasons why I wear the “Stars and Stripes” or to display the Stars and Stripes, is not just to show off. Its not to gracefully forcefuly to shut up the haters or to sell out. One of the real reasons why I do it, because its in the heart. Its in the heart of interest that I think would be comfortable. What do I mean by that, you ask? Maybe it’s my personality, maybe it’s my way of showing my own patriotism. Maybe it’s my way of showing active in community service. One of the community service that I do is an Election Inspector. And it’s a job that I volunteer for that has given me 10 years to serve. Another reason is probably my way of expression. Another could be my way of being active. Another reason that I continue to serve needs. It has nothing to do with being weak. Maybe that’s the reasons why I still probably have it on me since. Maybe I’m “not as American” as I think like everyone else. I don’t know. But I know that even though I’ve been a US Citizen for all of my years of life, I also can give the country a bit of a “Come to Jesus meeting” when certain things of America goes sour! This includes Racism. This includes Gun Violence. This includes Police Brutality. This includes Job Discrimination. This includes Sexism. This also includes Black Lives Matter! Even my choice on how to finish my college degrees in a format of my choice. This also includes that if I see a child or teen act up, I’m going to tell them NO! If I tell a non-profit job developer about the use of attacking me, like I did with the Milwaukee Urban League in 2005, I will call out the hypocritical mindet period! No matter who is in charge or works there. I’ve done it!  If anyone on Social Media questions my judgement or questions why I got this or that in a opinionated thought, I’ll question them back in asking why you want to know. If they want to get defensive, I’ll get defensive. That is like dealing with a bully. Or an instagater that’s always in your business.

Black folks who want a reason(s) for blacks like me to displays or wear a flag, did I give you my reason?

Let’s dont assume that with me per se rocking the stars and stripes is a worst thing in the world. I’ve seen worst than me that will make the question of “What are you celebrating?”look like a Co-Ed  Gym class on a worst day! Look here: If I want to display my way of the Red, White and Blue as well as the Red Black and Green basically it’s my right. I mean do we have this thing about Freedom of Expression? Come on!

There are bigger fish to fry that worring about a black male or black female wearing anything like Red White and Blue or the stars and stripes. And worrying about blacks celebrating the 4th. And just to remind the Conscious Crowd, even showing some revoultionary radical thought of conscioness can also be like showing a customized patriotism act of defiance. Even also addressing BLACK LIVES MATTER! And EVEN as I write right now, about 12:22AM CST in Milwaukee, Officers whom lost their lives in Civic Duty in Dallas, Texas.

I know what I’m about to say. And I’m going to say it.

Not on Facebook.

Not on Twitter.

Not on Instagram.

But here as I always have a say.

And no I will not use the proverbial “Conspiracy Theories” of the so-called stuff being as they are.

We already know what is going on. Orlando Florida is hit with ingrown attitude of Terror. It took only one guy and taking out about 50 folks in a nightclub. A popular nightclub that is among the LGBT folks. And the thing is, this guy who used a AR-15 on the attendees, used it in anger all because he saw two men kissing or showing their affection in public. This is what it is! What is going on is another dude that was under the influence of ISIS. The gunman Omar Mateen PLEDGED Allegiance to ISIS! And in the words of my current church members that said it years ago: ISIS IS IN AMERICA. And this act of concern sparked one of the worst mass shootings in American History. And for the record, there have been other Massaacres have been worse. They effected the Native Americans and yes, African-Americans as well. And its long documented and hidden until now. We need to recognize that also.

And Omar kills himself. Cowards way out!

And his wife probably knew what was going on.

I’m kind of mystified about this act taking place after the death of Muhammad Ali. Not only that, we had a National Gunfire Awareness Day on June 2nd, where mostly everyone who was affected by gun violence was wearing Orange in solidarity or memory of those who were killed or shot by a gun. How did we get from that, to this?!

Somebody tell me something!

And, for all the “GUN FREAK POSERS” who pose with their guns on Social Media and acting a fool, do you condone this? You better. And you can forget all about the NRA thing of protecting the advancement. Simply because they won’t. They have openly admit that President Obama was not going for their guns!

I would like to know is, what was the real motive behind this?

Was it hate?

Was it all about the “do it for religion? ”

Was it all about hating the LGBT folks because of their lifestyle?

What was it that set this whole thing off and having Omar bringing in a AR-15 in a club that slaughtered at least 50 folks?

And this also: If he didn’t have an issue with black folks, why the Gay/Lesbian Folks?

And yes LGBTQIA folks, there were folks praying yesterday in the sanctuaries. Which is nothing wrong. There might been folks in church yesterday that thought about you and making sure that you are OK. When I say that, they might have friends who are in the Pride LGBTQIA Movement/Community.

I have some connections that I know that in the LGBTQIA Community as well. Some I knew since Community Connections and high school.

Every single of the Pride Festivals around America, were in prayer of those whom were killed. Even at Milwaukee’s PrideFest, which celebrated its 30th Anniversary had a moment to sympathize for those who were killed and wounded. Not only that, metal detectors were used for safety purposes. A first for Milwaukee PrideFest. Ever. Just like Summerfest, African World Festival, the Games at Miller Park or Lambeau Field, and many others.

There were monuments and buildings in the world that were lit up in the Rainbow Colors, and also had Rainbow Flags hung in memory of those died in the shooting.

Knowing yes. We know that President Obama might have another idea. Another idea that might spark a new idea to get these dangerous guns off the hands who might use them for future concerns of hate. Even probably doing extensive background checks of those whom have issue of mental health, or this mental sense of allegiance of joining up with the likes of ISIS.

And while on the subject, let’s not also trip about a “subject over a subject”. There are those who think that this tragedy is a “smokescreen” or a distraction to come to find out that this incident, is taking over the shootings in the black neighborhoods. Or getting to the real roots of why this is when Black Lives Don’t Hardly Matter to those in the media when a promised young black female of a good future is gunned down. Or a common place when a black young male is STILL on the list of being endangered species and being someone’s target to be picked on like in high school. Or have a negative breath that the Church going folks deserved to be killed (like last year) and partially nobody cares!

Well I have a bone to pick here Ladies and Gentlemen, sometimes “we trip” ourselves because whenever we read about so and so’s deaths about those being overshadowed, we get this attitude like it’s skipped over! Don’t act like we know, because when ever we read about a tragic occurrence, or a unexpected death of a young black person, or groups that been targeted so many times and it’s forgettable.

All occurrences no matter how hidden or forthcoming, needs to be clarified, summarized, questioned, concluded and also it needs to be to a point that many MUST GRASP! No matter who or what! This shooting that happened in Orlando is just as bad as if someone lost their son or daughter.

Hold up! Wait a minute!

The victims were someone’s Sons and Daughters! Nevermind their life styles or what made them Gay or Lesbian, they were someone’s family member, probably a well known family member that probably helped the kids’ homework afterschool. Come on now! We KNOW THIS!

Just a sidenote: there were some black LGBT folks and those related to the folks,  in that club were murdered by the senseless act. As an example look at the pics. Especially a recent High School grad, Akyra Murray. She was 18 years old. And again just graduated High School. A mother of 11 Children, Brenda Lee Marquez McCool was 48 years, whom beat cancer TWICE was also killed by the gunfire. And she died by protecting her son Isisiah in the shooting.

And also for some of the positive news, there were lives were spared, thanks to the medics whom saved lives. And also a US Marine had a hand in the life saving too.

Whenever those of us think about that, it does hit home. No matter what.

Now again when it comes to the church, I know there are those who hate the idea of the homosexual thing being a sin. It’s not godly. It’s not how the Bible works. And yes there are those who use the Good Book in a way like a forceful weapon! And I know this is the part where those leave the church and become this “free thinker” person thinking that they know everything. After being in church for a few years with family. REALLY!

Is that all they know?

With the money and that car?

What about the house?

I hate to say this, but with the old tired viewpoint of being conscious is getting so OLD!

Come on Black Militant Conscious folks, you need to wake up! Not just wake up, BUT REALLY REALLY WAKE UP!

MAJOR CALLOUT: What about the church folks who do the worship thing on Sundays, and are active in trying to do the worship thing right? Trying to do the things right and helping the folks out everyday, doing the help all this time, and fellowshipping with those that need fellowshipped, and you (those doing the church hating per se) STILL don’t give them the benefit of the doubt? What does that say about you? Yeah think about that! Reverse treatment is now in play.

Guess what?

I’m part of that group of church folks that wants to reach out without any hypocritical attitudes just to make sure that it’s done right!

I’m a 4th Generation United Methodist Church members that has the “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors” ethology. Along with “Rethink Church” and now with “Church can happen anywhere” things. Yes church can be anywhere, even at a Gay Nightclub.  Or at someone’s house that doesn’t believe in God, or in someone’s presence that wants in but not sure. Or yes, EVEN the overly conscious that has “Stay Woke” on a shirt with those being “Pro Black” in a militant type of behavior.

That mentality I got now, is what I’ve learned from my parents, my late grandfathers and grandmothers and others that stayed close to home.

For my LGBT folks reading, yes I’m a church going person. I may not be the most spiritual servant, but I’m hypothesizing the cause to help me to help those like you. I don’t care about your lifestyle. I don’t care when or how you came out. I don’t care about the Festivals you inspire. I don’t care what Pride Parades you’ve been in to organize, or worked in. I don’t care if you still like Hillary Clinton or despise the effects of Donald Trump! I don’t care if you think all churches are lumped together, which they are not!

All I care is that you continue to “do you” no matter what happens! And when you do you, none of that matters. Of course there will be those who will not understand. And yes, you know this. But knowing this, I don’t care what your lifestyle is. But if I come to a Pride Party with a Nikon Camera, and I’m snapping pics away for $100.00 for 3 to four hours, would that be beneficial of me as a Single Black Christian Church going person being constructive?  Or will that benefit me just because of me sharing my talents?  Or just in general?

I’m just asking. And yes the golden rule still stands. And the God that is well known doesn’t hunt out the the folks that have a gayness attitude that harbors and goes for the kill!

On a side note, I visited Orlando twice in my life. I’ve been to Disneyworld in 1985 at nine years old, and Universal Studios. Plus partied along with the Tom Joyner Family Reunion Crew in 2009.

Orlando, you have a nice city. Let me comeback for a third time visit!

In the coming week, even though we are praying for those to get through this tragedy, let us be mindful that these words will still ring out:

THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES!

This is just for the current residents of Wisconsin. Just today, one of our State Republican Representatives, Janel Brandtjen had this idea that about cutting funding to the city of Milwaukee in order for her district of Menomonee Falls to be free from time. From the crime that is going on.

What is she talking about, you ask?

I was reading the Urban Milwaukee Webpage about this “idea” and from the looks of it, in my opinion: she is in denial. Plus check out the story below:

Last week homeowners in Washington County were held hostage in their homes by the actions of 5 young criminals from Milwaukee. All night long the Milwaukee Police, SWAT teams and law enforcement from Washington County combed the darkness for 5 youths with guns. Families were forced to unlock their gun cabinets and instruct their loved ones to shoot to kill.

The violence and the crime that has plagued Milwaukee for decades has now begun to spill over into Milwaukee’s suburbs. I lay the responsibility for this growing and out of control problem at the door of the Mayor’s office. Mayor Barrett may not care about the safety of his family but I certainly do care about mine.

Mayor Barrett, the people of southeast Wisconsin will not sit by and watch your administration destroy the entire region with failed liberal policies and a 10 second “Tommy Tough Talk” sound bite. If you do not fill the hundreds of vacant police officer positions, apprehend and arrest car thieves, demand prison for repeat criminals and start standing up to the judges who let repeat offenders off easy you will be in my opinion “assisting and enabling” the very criminals who are responsible for the record number of shootings, car jacking’s and murders.

I will be openly advocating for funding cuts to Milwaukee unless steps are taken to dramatically cut crime in Milwaukee. I will no longer sit by while you destroy Milwaukee and its flourishing suburbs. I cannot justify financing your failed policies in Milwaukee until you take public safety seriously.

I got to say this and I’m going to be unapologetic: WHITE WOMAN PLEASE!

Seriously, State Republican Representative  Janel Brandtjen?! You obviously think that the dollars that you “somewhat support” would be cut off from Menomonee Falls to Milwaukee due to Milwaukee’s problems with the young black folks that hid away in YOUR COUNTY from the police? And you believe that the crime from Milwaukee is harming Menomonee Falls! You must be, and I must say, “STUCK ON STUPID!”

How many times have I heard and read about in the Milwaukee Suburbs about drug crimes and also many types of assault that occurred in YOUR AREA?

How many times, have I heard and read about racism in YOUR AREA that kept popping up?!

How many times have I heard about the concerns of ALCOHOL or Drinking and Driving that has occurred not only in the suburbs, but also IN YOUR AREA?!

And you honestly think that cutting funding from Milwaukee will solve this problem and just go away without any harm or concern. Like it’s nothing. REALLY?!

Don’t worry I’ll wait!

You said in your “commentary of denial” that Mayor Barrett needs to do something about this crime thing that is not only harming Milwaukee but also the suburbs. Well let me say this as a Milwaukee RESIDENT: We all know that Mayor Barrett is handling his “Mayor Business” here in Milwaukee. We know this. We know what is going on a day by day basis. Good or bad. By the way, excuse my French: What the hell have you done? What the hell have you done to fix or curb the problems with employment that disrepects the VALOR of African-American Applicants that want to work IN YOUR CITY? Out of Milwaukee? I demand the answer to that instead of you making this demand of you pulling dollars from Milwaukee. If the dollars you demand to be pulled from Milwaukee and if concerns the safety part of it, that would be trouble. Oh, I don’t agree with Gov. Numb Nuts, but even he feels that pulling dollars from Milwaukee due to crime is a bad idea. WOW Scott Walker, the Marquette University Dropout made one little sense that this idea is bad. Now if Scott Walker would have got his brain straight about 5 years ago about the High Speed Rail, we would be in business NOW getting from Milwaukee to Madison faster than clunking cars. Open for business, probably?

State Representative Janel Brandtjen: If you really want to share your “fighting crime” techniques so bad, then go get your crew. Mayor Barrett will get the Milwaukee crew. Either meet in Milwaukee or Menomonee Falls, or even at the State Capitol. Let’s be like “Real Wisconsin folks” and bring all of our ideas to the table to bring in stopping the violence in the Southeastern Part of Wisconsin. Not only that, don’t be surprised if any of the Black families from either side will show up!

Hey State Rep: your move if you want it. Put down that conservative mantra like a bad rash of hate, and meet up. And that goes for ANY rep that has a dislike for Milwaukee. Are we Wisconsinites that carry the motto Forward also?

Put the money where the mouth is.

For this exclusive, I’m going to highlight just the recent incidents that happened in Milwaukee. For the last couple of days, the city has had issues concnering Carjackings or young boys stealing cars like it’s out of Grand Theft Auto. And usually it’s those that is unwatchable. Plus, I’ll address a deep commentary of my own in dealding with the issues of homosexuality with a concern that dealt and currently deals with a “leading African-American Community Leader” and a “victim” that was recently victimized at guess what: 16 years old. Hold on your hats!

Part I: Milwaukee – These carjacking acts and car stealing MUST STOP NOW!

We have seen these carjacking acts in which we are getting tired of. All those whom have these 13 year olds, these 16 years who are doing this mess MUST STEP UP! Nevermind if you have to work 2 jobs. Go out and get your children off these streets and into the house! The main reason why this is going on is the fact that many are scared to step up to the kids and say don’t you dare! Who’s going to step up and ACTUALLY do this? Like I said they are treating this like it’s a game. This is no game! You are dealing with real lives with this. The reason why it hits home with me because one of my relatives was involved with stealing cars way back. And the thing is, he did his time in jail, got out. And then, went back and did the same mess again and now in jail for the second time around! This is not a joke! Milwaukee, it’s time that we need to step up and tell those who are doing this, that it MUST END NOW! What is really happening here? These parents who don’t raise these kids don’t know squat themselves. YES I WENT THERE! You ask why, why are these kids whom do the Carjacking and Auto Theft stuff? Who is influencing them to do this? Is it the other boys? And it’s not just boys. Girls are doing this too? Who’s is influceing them?!! We need to come out of the gate and monitor those whom do this. On Social Media, one of the DJ’s from V-100 Reggie Brown put out a reminder and a warning about the acts that the young folks might be on when stuff like this happens with carjackings:
image

Oh, just a reminder. Wisconsin is a Open Carry State.

We all know that the city got the bad rap of being Segregated, Poor, and Human Trafficking. And the worst place to live for blacks, but when you have YOUR OWN FOLKS per say on the same race color per say as you, and being young and dumb, it’s clearly that the city has it’s work to cut out. We know what it always has been, but what is it about Milwaukee that we WANT TO SEE. As I write this, this weekend is Milwaukee’s 170th Anniversary as a founding of the city. Yes, I know. But what will  be the EXTRA WILL that will carry Milwaukee to explore for the next milestone? Come on folks. No matter what you believe, pray to, honor, or party to, generate the thoughts and SAVE THIS CITY! Starting with those whom are YOUNG! And those who WANT TO STAY and THRIVE! START THIS NOW!

Part II – It’s time to talk and really talk about Homophobic Stuff.

In the last two days, my ears have been in tuned on 860 WNOV. In which it always has for the last 3 and half years. However, there was a major shock of concern that happened in the black community that was so disturbing that I won’t repeat here. But I can say that the act of this news coming out that had many of the listeners in complete shock and disgrace. What was a disgrace? Having a leading African-American Community member having sexual relations with a 16 year old. YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT! This news of this matter had reached fever pitches of disgust, confusion and anger. And for the last couple of days, these came out of the voices of the callers, as published and reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

One female caller blamed the victim and claimed that because the person is trans-gendered, the person is more promiscuous. She went on to say that she feels that the child is the one who did the luring of the “adult” and that. if that’s the case, the adult should not be charged.

And here’s another statement: black folks. ENOUGH! It’s time that we need to address this topic. We need to stop deny of this misconceptions. It’s time to stop the barriers of religion in which some will use it to a disadvantage. It’s time to get inside of the minds of those thinking it’s false. LOOK AROUND YOU! It is around and it’s here! And people, enough about the skeptics of Gay Bombs and foods that found that might get you gay. Enough of the talk of Gay Bibles! You wanna get real with this topic that many of us have our heads stuck in the sand, it’s time to start getting real and real darn fast! And stop being afraid. ENOUGH!

She said if a child already has been sexually active then that child knows what he or she is doing.

HOLD THE DARN PHONE!

I gotta say this. At times and this mostly the truth, when it comes to sex or being engaged Sexually, in my opinion, the teens don’t know how to handle that. They really don’t! Let’s be real, they think they know, but don’t know squat! But in regarding this teen and this leading African-American Community Member, this is a deal that is so out of bounds. I do hope that if this person is revealed as the person being as is, kiss all those accolades GOODBYE! Yep, the career stuff will go down the drain and most likely will INDEED SERVE jail time. If anyone knows about serving time in jail and having the accolades stripped, ask the most recent guy that the Milwaukee Black Community knows: Mike McGee Jr. Yes, he’s out and doing his community activism duties. However, this story is not about him. More on that later.

The talk also continued on The Forum Today, in which the issue of religion and church has been featured. One caller called in about drums, sanctuaries and no panties on. No joke. I’m like really? We got church members in the game that do that? What church that is?! After hearing that portion that sounded like a mouthful, I immediately turned to the United Methodist Church and it talked about the issues of the rule of Safe Sanctuaries. I want all the Milwaukee Black Churches in the city to ask this question. No matter if you’re Methodist, Baptist, Community, Non-Denominational, Lutheran, or whatever: Does your congregation(s) have a rule of Safe Sanctuaries? If not, it’s best to start up one right now! Courtesy of the United Methodist Church’s website, here is the rundown of the Safe Sanctuaries rules:

How to Begin Developing and Updating a Safe Sanctuaries® Policy

The process of developing a Safe Sanctuaries® Policy in your congregation is not complicated. These 10 steps will guide you in reducing the risk of abuse and protecting children and youth in your congregation.

Step 1 – Find out if your congregation has Safe Sanctuaries® Policies and Guidelines in place, when it was last updated, and when leaders, teachers, and staff last attended training. If a policy does not exist, make every effort to implement the following steps as swiftly as possible.

Step 2 – Talk with the senior pastor, congregational leaders, teachers, parents, guardians, grandparents, and others who are concerned about the importance of keeping children and youth safe. As a group, discuss the existing policy or the process for creating Safe Sanctuaries® Policies and Guidelines. Meet as a group with the Church Council. Resources in Steps 3-6 will be helpful in this process.

Step 3 – Contact your Annual Conference Safe Sanctuaries® Coordinator or the Discipleship Ministries staff to obtain a copy of the policy and training adopted by your Annual Conference. If you are unsure of your church’s Annual Conference, use the UMC Annual Conference Finder or ask your senior pastor.

Step 4 – Use the Discipleship Ministries Self-Evaluation Tool to assess your congregation’s policy and guidelines needs for the prevention of abuse in your congregation’s ministry with children and youth. This tool helps identify the areas that require attention.

Step 5 – Gather current resources necessary for planning and maintaining policies that protect children, youth, and the adults who serve them. Keep these in a place for church leaders and teachers to easily reference.
Safe Sanctuaries®: Reducing the Risk of Abuse in the Church for Children and Youth and Safe Sanctuaries® for Children and Youth DVD: Reducing the Risk of Abuse in the Church were developed through Discipleship Ministries of The United Methodist Church. The book includes: Information on recruiting, screening, and hiring workers with children and youth, Guidelines for developing policies and procedures, Training models, Suggestions for congregational response to allegations of abuse, Sample forms and guides. Also view the recorded webinar Safe Sanctuaries – The Basics.

Step 6 – Recommend that your pastoral staff read Safe Sanctuaries® for Ministers: Reducing the Risk of Abuse in the Church to gain a better understanding of the ministerial role in keeping children and youth safe in church and at church activities. This resource is written specifically for those serving as pastors in local church settings.

Step 7 – Write or update Safe Sanctuaries® Policies and Guidelines for your congregation, making sure to address the unique risks in your congregational setting. Your Annual Conference is vital to developing these policies. Acquaint everyone in the congregation with the policy and guidelines, and its contents. View sample policies and guidelines for congregations of all sizes.

Step 8 – Know your legal responsibility. In many states, clergy members and those involved in the care of children and youth are considered “mandated reporters,” meaning they have specific obligation to report suspected child abuse. Updated information on these mandates in your particular state can be found at Child Welfare Information Gateway.

Step 9 – Contact your local hospital, police department, social service agency or public health department for names of people in your area qualified to speak with teachers, leaders, parents, and church staff on local resources and procedures for responding to potential abuse.

Step 10 – In all you do, remember that as part of his public ministry, Jesus committed the then-radical act of welcoming children. Our commitment to reducing the risk of abuse in the church for children and youth is one way that we live out Jesus’ act of love.

Again this is the rule only applies to the United Methodist Church. BUT, if I were any of you non-demonitional or other denominational churches out there, IMPLEMENT a Safe Sanctuary Policy Rule to make sure that your church congregations, and vistors know that the worship services are safe for every man, woman and mostly children! It should be a vibrant time in the building without any harm or concern. Now what I have displayed here as an alert, I did not hear that on the Black Milwaukee Radio Connections. NONE! Neither from the callers or anyone. Mostly it was bashing. Not really much that the church should have safeguards for all. Why is that? If I was on the radio today, I would HIGHLY RECOMMNEND about the use of Safe Sanctuaries period. Forget about the MONEY, and where does the MONEY goes after church. But know this, the actions of the safety of children or teens, or sensitive grown folks that want to worship without any harm or concern should be a TOP PRIORITY of all. No matter who comes into the church!  Even if the person is homophobic but has a heart of mininstry that wants to serve! Even my childhood pastor said this and I’m saying it here!

And I think the montage of #BlackLivesMatter won’t come here. But the life of this 16 year old needs to be brought to life and ask does this teen’s life matter?

Gotta keep it 100, right?

Listen up Americans. Saints and Aints. And those who are somewhat religious or not, we need prayer.

It’s time that we all need to stop playing with prayer. Alot of you and me have already heard about what happened in San Bernardino California yesterday that yet again another workday, and another workplace was interrupted by gun violence. Yes, we mourn those who have been shot or killed, and will not see another holiday season ever again. Those families, you should pray for them, they are going through a terrible burden right now! Now I know that when this happens, there are going to be words like: “My thoughts and prayers are with the families.” Which is NOTHING WRONG saying that. Now this might come from the Republicans who say this over and over again. And you got the Democrats who say “It’s not enough.” Well I have question: When is PRAYER a bad thing to sympathize and not enough to show for it? What are we praying for? For Salvation? For Hope? For Peace? For those whom have been lost, confused, turned away, left out, passed up, or not being mentioned in your groups? Or you, the reader of my blog? Or me in general? Or is it because you got to have this or that? Prayers are supposed to be sacred. Not all turn up in some juke joint! It seems that us folks have really lost our way all because what or who was said. I want to assure that I’m not blaming the folks. I’m blaming the folks who probably got it wrong from someone else who said the samething and somewhere in the path, it got lost. It got severed. It just got unmentioned that many want to not touch.

Like I said: PRAYERS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SACRED! And it’s not just to be so tip toeing around the darn tulips that it’s supposed to happen in a negative fashion! On that note, yes I did saw the pic of the NY Daily News or Times that was posted. Here it is:

Front page of the New York Daily News for December 3, 2015 about the shooting at San Bernardino that left 12 dead at a holiday banquet.

If God isn’t “fixing the problem” what is being withheld from the solution?

What is the viable solution in all of this? Now for those who say,  that God isn’t fixing this? Who should fix this? Don’t assume that the non-godly folks have all the answers. What if they don’t? Go ahead I want to hear this.

And furthermore there are those who want to believe that there is no God among us. Spiritually God does exist. I said Spiritually! Which mostly is internal. Which is mostly inside you per say. Ask those who know that very well.

But on this shooting in San Bernardino, and at a workplace Celebrating a Christmas Party, this like many others, is sad. Really sad that once again those of the 14 who were murdered by those who decided to follow the rules of ISIS. And this time those of the 14’s  families that will have a empty chair or space that will never be the same. Not once.

This whole ISIS thing is like a new monster that everyone is examining. Plus also probably like many things that pop up, will be dealt with. Even concerning the mass shootings or terrorist like fashion that probably will be dealt with in the making of new ideas to counter this new style of terrorism or shootings.

Even with “prayer” and action without boots on the ground.

This is my take on a recent incident of a Milwaukee Firefighter that got beaten up for no reason.

First, as I was reading the news in Milwaukee, with all the kiddos going back to the classrooms of Milwaukee, there was a concern about roughing up yet again. This time, it’s directed at the Milwaukee Firefighters. YES YOU READ IT RIGHT: Milwaukee Firefighters! I mean really!

Most recently, there was a crash scene that was reported near the intersection of 60th and Capitol Drive. Still the same intersection in all going to work and play. Plus going to high school back in the day. The scene was for a vigil that an individual was killed in the area via a motorcycle accident. While the vigil was going on, (via Fox6 News) a firefighter was in appearance as well.

Here is the story:

MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee firefighter was “roughed up” during an incident which happened near 60th and Capitol Dr. on Saturday evening, September 5th.

FOX6 News is told a large group of people were in the area for a vigil to remember the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash.

Police were monitoring the crowd around 7:20 p.m. when one person began to have a medical emergency. Officials say the crowd would not move back from the patient. They apparently became disorderly with police and firefighters as they attempted to treat the patient.

At one point, a member of the crowd “roughed up” a firefighter causing a minor injury.

The suspect, a 26-year-old Milwaukee man, was arrested for battery to a firefighter.

The person having the medical emergency was evaluated at a hospital.

This is where I get the thinking:  REALLY! We’re beat up Firefighters now at freaking vigils! OH THE HUMANITY OF GOD AND JESUS! WHY THIS? Just long time ago, there was a time that guns were drawn on City Garbage Workers, physical violence and shootings were on county buses partially on bus drivers, and now you got Firefighters on this? SERIOUSLY?! All at a freaking Vigil.

This is the point I’m not understanding. I’ll bet those who actually roughed up the Firefighter is probably having that “Come To Jesus Meeting” in a harsh manner! Yeah, I said it. If those who think that know like a free-thinker in a atheist way of dragging down other’s opinion in a tricking manner yes, you need a come to jesus meeting! But that’s not what is being editorialized here.

This kind of hit home to me, because I have cousins that were Firefighters in Milwaukee. I met with the Milwaukee Brotherhood of Firefighters a couple of years ago on one of the 9/11 anniversaries. They also used to come to my church anniversary block parties near 24th and Keefe way back. I wonder, why are these fools beating up folks who are licensed EMT’s mixed with the ability to fight fires to save lives! This is not the first time. Earlier this year, in Milwaukee mind you, a firefighter was shot while on duty.

So yes, I’m not surprised. And I’m certainly not shocked that the 26-year-old is in jail all because he (And I’m assuming it’s a he) that did the job by attacking those who help those in need of real serious emergencies of fires and 9-1-1 calls.

Get it together brew city!

Just recently, the City of Milwaukee had a sporadic of shootings so far in the summer. Now before anyone gets all emotional and running for the hills, let’s rewind to what I said back in the spring:

What just happened also, is a prelude of what might come during the Summer. We know that by then, the weather will be hot. And when that happens, MOST will be out of school during the break (I’m referencing kids here) and I’ll be one of the first who might say that some of them WILL DIE! They will not be at the playgrounds, Summerfest, their neighborhoods or matter of fact, some may not get on Facebook or even my blog (with their parents) asking and/or addressing the issues that harbors the game in a negative light! I’m sorry to say this, but this is a butt naked truth! Another butt naked truth: this is for those who migrated out of Milwaukee. Normally I would say that if you had a change in career or choice to move because of whatever, and if you are successful at what you’re doing, hey congrats. But, hear me on this, and this might hurt many of you. You can’t please folks all the time! I know many of you probably expressed that in a sense of choice or pride. However, never forget that there those here that WANT to see the Change for the better while you are in your new digs!

So I say to myself, guess what? I told you so!

Just like when I said about Scott Walker’s negativity in the state in all, I told you so!

The recent shootings that happened, occurred during the 4th of July weekend in the city. First , a 14 year old kid by the name of Tariq Akbar was gunned down after our July 3rd Fireworks had ended. It all started with a Facebook post in which led to a fight, and Tariq died all because part of the Facebook post was about a girl. OH REALLY?!! A GIRL?!!! That also needs to ask, who in the living heck is montitoring the dude’s Facebook Page?!! When I was 14, don’t call me old pre-millenials. There was no social media. Heck, I had to get permission to go outside with being watched by my parents! And when I was 14, I was already going from Middle School to High School to get my young prepped up for the next phase of Milwaukee Public Schools. And the dude that killed Tariq, was a 15 year old black teenager. Now, I would call Black Lives Matter on this, but I can’t. Matthew McMillian at his age of 15 might be on his way to jail for 65 years in this act of violence. Hold up, by the time he gets out, he’ll be an old man of nearly 80 years old when or if he gets out. By then his high school life, college life, adult life and all would be a thing of the past. He better start praying to black Jesus right now for the sin he committed against Tariq all because of a stupid Facebook Post because of a girl! Makes me want to delete my FB Page just thinking about it. But nah, I’ll use it to keep it clean.

Most recent another Milwaukee Shooting happened involving a 13 year old boy. The boy was killed shortly after a vigil in memory of Tariq Akbar. But the thing is, he was killed at home near the area of 22nd and Eggert Place. The name was Giovionie Cameron. And the result of his murder was by of all people, his cousin Jason. This is the second time this year that a blood relative killed a blood relative. And that BLOOD relative has to come face to face with the truth of murdering his relative. What was the motive of Jason? Gunplay? Hatred? what?!! The reason why it’s the second time this year, look what happened to the two boys of Damani Terry and Rasheed Chiles that were gunned down. And they were gunned down by their 27 year old uncle Ricky Ricardo Chiles. Whom also killed himself while being on the run.

Right now, the number of homicides in Milwaukee as of this date of July 8th: 84. Last year around this same date, the number stood at 41 according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Homicide Tracker Website.

Yep, I called it. Even though it might be scary but I said that the actions of what happened in the Spring will be a prelude to the summer. And so far, this Summer of 2015 is off to a bad start. And I’m not talking about the low attendance for Summerfest or the ongoing short coolness of the weather. Or the same ol’ stuff of lack of jobs. This is our young children UNDER SIEGE! Under siege of all the violence and this hate. Oh, and some grown folks are thinking of moving out. But like I also said to the grown folks who are thinking about leaving, go ahead. BUT do not slight those who are still here that are trying their dead level best to get this city on track. And I hate to say that those whom turn up the noses and leave when stuff like this, you’re not helping. I’m sorry to say this, but you are not really helping out to solidify solutions in which the city needs. Of course, you got your spot set for Atlanta, for Dallas, for San Antonio, for California, for whatever city or state. But guess what? There are violence in those cities and states also. Even if you go down south! Yeah, like many I want to live in a safe cooperative enviormnent free from violence, and shootings. But there are racists out there who don’t like to see “N*ggers in their neighborhoods” or on their jobs. Don’t like to see  Gays or Lesbians, or transgenders, or any other folks who dawn the rainbows. Or any other race that does not look like them! And didn’t we just celebrated the 4th of July? And a reminder of Juneteenth? And a reminder of celebrating the Pride of whom you like to love?

And even if and when the new Milwaukee Bucks arena is beginning to be made, I don’t want no investors of anytype fleeing Milwaukee just because of what happened with the violence! The best way to combat the violence in a different way, is to do your job by coming out and work. I don’t care someone who is caucasian with a beer and a I-Phone gives you the finger, yo SCREW THEM! Get the jobs out!

And finally, the Milwaukee Police Department should not be the only ones out here doing this. All Community Leaders, Unsung Heroes, Churches and others should be on a United Front  (and I mean a UNITED FRONT) in tackling the violence in the Milwaukee Streets. Oh, and those who always call on the churches and having this attitude of not caring. Especially at a time like this, you need to drop it. You are probably the same ones who couldn’t get over the attitude of being shut out by Pastor so-and-so. Or Sister so-and-so, Brother So-and-So and many other so-and-sos that you thought were against you. I said many times that there are those who don’t want church folks around all because of the bible thumping hyprocritical mindet. But when problems happen, (and pastors you know this) when those folks or one person comes back and asks this repeatable question: “Will you pray for me?” Ponder that. And a question might ask, what made you change your mind of this? Again, ponder that!

So in the words of Smokey Robinson, don’t be so full of yourselves!

Get up and get out and do your work in getting the city back on point!

Oh I got a four way stop to say! And trust me this will be one of the hardest four ways that I will write. In this, I’m about to go in on a dumb commentary that Milwaukee County Sheriff gave on Fox News, the pathetic commentary of the Google Search of the N*gga House, the shootings in Waco in a gang motorcycle style, and as usual the random dumb shootings that occurred in the Milwaukee Area. Pump your breaks. Check the Signals. It’s a Four Way Stop!

First Stop: Can Sheriff Clarke please stop? I don’t know anyone in Milwaukee is hearing this, but our beloved second black Sheriff is on the news again. This time he was on a rant about Michelle Obama’s 2015 Commencement Speech at Tuskegee University. In this one minute sample, listen to the “remark” that the Sheriff gave. Start to hit the tripping button.

Black Sheriff Argues for Black People to Forgive America for Slavery and Assimilate, Is He Right?

Are we tripping yet? Are We? We better!

Sheriff David Clarke’s Commentary was just that: dumb. Yes I was challenged to hear the entire viewpoint and yes this is my thought courtesy of my Facebook comments:

“In regarding Michelle Obama with her commencement speech at Tuskegee, he believes she was out of line. Primarily, if David Clarke actually articulated what Michelle was saying in the context of the speech then probably there might be some silver lining of sympathy. Apparently, not very much. Ill just leave it like that.”

So. That is my thought.

Now there are those who like Sheriff Clarke will, or would probably say the exact thing of what was harshly commented out the so-called disdainful words of Michelle Obama. We know that many in the right wing media folks have already pledged their allegiance against the commencement speech. We know the Ann Coulters of the world had to shoot her mouth off and I just know that the fact she probably did. So did Rush Limbaugh, or matter of fact, some goober on Youtube probably had to come up with a video like  “Oh the racists hurting on me!” In a sarcasm way. But the fact of the matter, they do NOT understand and never took the time, persistence, or dedication or just some good understanding of what the racist angles that Michelle Obama went through. NEVER! Also, those same folks who somewhat called out the FLOTUS, probably had a dose of their own medicine. Again: Sheriff Clarke was one of them.

He thought in a congressional hearing that the late Eric Gardner had a heart attack when he perished in New York. DUDE: What kind of ISH was that? REALLY? This dude, Sheriff David Clarke needs to have his head examined. I mean this is the same dude that many in Milwaukee (Black Milwaukee) voted for over the other guy of Chris Moews. Obviously, he was and is I hate to say, is misguided. And no, not  just because he’s the 2nd black Milwaukee County Sheriff. And I’ll say this as a Milwaukee County Resident: I feel embarrassed. He really doesn’t have the fortitude in knowing to credit the real source. I’m just saying!

Second Stop: Ever been to a N*gga House?

Oh there those who haven’t either. Or maybe they have been in a different name. Do this as a favor, when on Google Maps, type in N*gga House (in an non explicit type fashion) and hit the enter key. When you press the Enter key on Google Maps with the N-Word House in it, guess where that takes you? It takes you to a place in D.C. called The White House. Yes, the actual White House where the current President and First Family is residing. And you know what’s even worse on that? I’m reading these bogus comments on how the White House is treated  as some racist angle per say. Let me remind those who are so screwed up about black people: It was black people (both slaves and free) BUILT the White House! They were the first builders, construction workers, and many others whom helped the Peoples House to be built in Chocolate City. So to those who are so misguided, hate to say, you need to re-examined to the fullest!

Really. Google needs to get their butts or brains out of the gutter and ACTUALLY DO work to get their maps stuff under control! It’s not just the N*gga House. It could be N*gga anything that is demeaning, or disgraceful to black folks worldwide and even yes in the United States! And to those black folks who feel its so funny and to poke around, congrats. You just made that list of those on Facebook called “The Cooning Watch!” I want to know is where is all the Black People who work at Google, from the workers to the behind the scenes folks who find this so racist. Where they at?

Third stop: The Waco Shootings.

Oh let me see here. We have a bunch of bikers getting into shootings and they acted like animals. And they got arrested in the crimes they committed on their part. I need to ask, who does biker shootouts in 2015? Seriously?!! There was a time that Milwaukee I believe almost had this at one of the Harley-Davidson’s Anniversaries of the birth of the bikes persay. Yes there was a potential somewhat fight between rival biker gangs of the alleged melee. Now I’ll bet that the bikers whom did the shootings were a bunch of animals? Speaking of that, many have called out blacks killing themselves as a “bunch of animals.” But when you see majority of the bikers whom are white and actually did this with handcuffs in all, do they get the award of being a “bunch of animals as well?”

Well guess what Americans: anyone causing harm to anyone else in a harsh manner IS LIKE AN ANIMAL! And America has had a HISTORY of that didn’t happened back in the 50’s.

Fourth stop: The Same ol’ Milwaukee shootings.
We all know this is a hot button topic. And I made a prediction back in midspring, and I’ll say it here. And I don’t care what is being reported on the news, black radio, black internet radio, a black podcast, or the paper. This summer we’ll read or hear about some young man or lady will be on someone’s target list that will be casket paid! Burials or Cremations. Just to think that when Archie Brown, Jr was killed near 47th and Glendale, someone was screaming’ JESUS! JESUS! JESUS! Not mocking just saying. Most recently, Milwaukee had shootings in certain neighborhoods, schools, parking lots, nearby stores, salons, churches, our workplaces, and now, at FUNERALS and get this: VIGILS! Oh, what we can’t go to vigils to honor’s one’s spirit that was killed? SERIOUSLY? I ask this over and over again, where are the safety nets in our community? Where are those places in which NOBODY can’t get killed or shot up by a bunch of hoodlums that want to mess things up? Now for those who have transplanted out of Milwaukee and have this carefree of not worrying about bullets flying in general, yes I hear you. BUT I think that memory that you keep talking about, will stay WITH YOU no matter what area you move to. Is the safety net in the Suburbs? When you hear about the drug activities in all, the reaction will be different from the city’s BUT the concern is the SAME as everywhere else! Hey, I don’t care if you move to Texas. Or Georgia. Or anywhere else in the United States. Any city or suburb can feel the same concern about someone getting shot or killed as many others. No one ever thought that there could have been shootings in Sandy Hook in which that many I think Milwaukee knows.

But seriously, this summer in which is fast approaching along with the festivals, Summerfest, your Family Reunion, your Class Reunions or any other celebration, even Summer Break, someone is going to get shot and killed THIS SEASON! It’s been like that before and it will not change.I think it’s time that right now, it’s time to gear up programs, activities, gatherings and many others that will try to keep stuff like this at bay.
